About Us

Liberty First is a website rooted in policy and not in politics. This new integrated database will let anyone easily access elected official information, voting records, post comments, and view rankings.

Our goal is to put liberty first in government—starting on the local level. Almost all of the national problems we are facing today have been caused by poor government leadership, unaccountable elected officials, and a system ransacked by corruption. This website will hold elected officials accountable for the votes that they make.

Our methodology is based on three different categories

Personal Freedoms/Good Governance
- Government’s first job is to protect the liberty of the citizens. A good elected official recognizes this and supports policies that make us a more free society. Does this elected official protect your personal freedoms? Good governance involves any vote that would make government more transparent, accountable, responsible, etc...

Fiscal Issues- Abundant taxes and fees hurt the ability of private citizens to use their resources as they see fit. It impacts our ability to own and use property and stifles economic growth. Wasteful spending is another aspect of fiscal issues that results in taxpayer waste. Is this elected official a good steward of your financial resources?

Property Rights- “For the institution of several property-that is, private property-has been a powerful instrument for teaching men and women responsibility, for providing motives to integrity, for supporting general culture, for raising mankind above the level of mere drudgery, for affording leisure to think and freedom to act.” Russell Kirk. Infringement of property rights takes away freedom from the individuals and undermines democracy. Individual property rights and the property rights of any business will be scored under this category. Does this elected official protect your property rights?

Now that you know what we are all about please take a look at some of your elected officials and tell us what you think.
