Reema Dodin, a Palestinian-American, will serve alongside Shuwanza Goff as a deputy director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, President-elect Joe Biden announced on Monday. Dodin will be the first Palestinian-American to serve as a White House staffer, according to Palestinian media.
The new White House staffer was born to Jordanian-Palestinian immigrants in the US. Dodin’s family is originally from Dura, near Hebron, according to Palestinian media.
Dodin served as deputy chief of staff to Democratic Senator Richard Durbin and has also served on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law, among other positions.
She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is also a Truman National Security Fellow, a New Leaders Council Fellow, an Aspen Socrates alum, a former term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Jenkins Hill Society – a consortium of women in politics supporting female politicians.
During the Second Intifada, in 2002, Dodin spoke about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with residents of Lodi, California, saying that “suicide bombers were the last resort of a desperate people,” according to the Lodi News-Sentinel.

Some have questioned why the Trump campaign doesn’t give the news media proof of election fraud. There are several reasons:
This evidence for election fraud is for the courts, not the media.
Releasing their affidavits to the press doesn’t help, rather it hurts their case.
The affidavits are meant to be seen by the courts.
Many of the people who have provided sworn affidavits are in fear of their lives.
We will only see these people who provided sworn affidavits when they take the stand.
However, Rudi Giuliani did appeared on NewsNOW from FOX on November 20th. Fox News Now reports:
President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani aggressively made the case on Thursday for the Trump campaign’s legal challenge of the 2020 election results, alleging in a fiery news conference that there was a “centralized” plan to carry out voter fraud around the country. This is a different approach than the campaign has recently taken in court, where they have primarily focused on the validity of ballots and counts without asserting fraud.
Republicans are still pursuing 16 legal challenges in four states. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rejected six appeals challenging 10,000 votes that had missing information. This means that mail-in ballots with no dates are perfectly fine with this Democrat-controlled and transparently partisan so-called court.
Two videos have surfaced of Eric Coomer of Dominion Voting Systems explaining to election officials how to alter votes with Dominion software. Last week, Smartmatic – the voting machine company thought to be involved in rigging elections in Venezuela – denied it had ever transferred technology to Dominion, but this week it was discovered that it did, in 2007.

The Sidney Powell case is effectively a criminal case, and she continues to aggressively pursue it. The campaign's case is primarily a Constitutional one.

The move comes after Powell spoke at a press conference last week with Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis.
At the press conference, she stood behind Giuliani as he said:
This is representative of our legal team. We’re representing President Trump and we’re representing the Trump campaign. When I finish, Sidney Powell and then Jenna Ellis will follow me. And we will present, in brief, the evidence that we’ve collected over the last, I guess it is two weeks. Also, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing are here with me. There are a lot more lawyers working on this, but I guess we’re the senior lawyers — and Boris Epshteyn.
Powell’s remarks were also promoted by the Republican National Committee’s official Twitter account.
Trump tweeted over a week ago that Powell was part of his legal defense team, writing: “I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS! Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!”
Fox New host Tucker Carlson called out Powell late last week over some of the claims that she made during the press conference this week, stating that she refused to appear on his show and allegedly became angry when repeatedly pressed for evidence.
During the segment, Carlson highlighted the following quote from Powell:
One of its most characteristic features is its ability to flip votes. It can set and run an algorithm that probably ran all over the country to take a certain percentage of votes from President Trump and flip them to President Biden, which we might never have uncovered had the votes for President Trump not been so overwhelming in so many of these states that it broke the algorithm that had been plugged into the system, and that’s what caused them to have to shut down in the states they shut down in.
“So we invited Sidney Powell on this show. We would’ve given her the whole hour; we would’ve given her the entire week actually and listened quietly the whole time at rapt attention — that’s a big story,” Carlson said. “But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page. When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence either, nor did she provided any today at the press conference.”
Powell made additional claims on Saturday night during an interview on Newsmax TV that were widely criticized.
Washington Examiner columnist Byron York highlighted a portion of the comments that Powell made:
POWELL: Georgia’s probably gonna be the first state I’m gonna blow up. And Mr. Kemp and the secretary of state need to go with it because they’re in on the Dominion scam with their last-minute purchase, or award of a contract to Dominion of $100 million. The state bureau of investigation for Georgia ought to be looking into the financial benefits received by Mr. Kemp and the secretary of state’s family about that time …
NEWSMAX: Just to clarify, you’re saying that Governor Kemp, who’s been a longtime ally of the president, is directly involved because of financial benefit in a conspiracy to defeat the president in Georgia?
POWELL: We have certainly been told that there is evidence of that, and would warrant an investigation if anybody were actually going to do an honest investigation.
NEWSMAX: What more could you tell us about that alleged conspiracy — [as] the governor’s [involvement]?
POWELL: I can’t give you any more details than that now, but it would certainly warrant an investigation. If it had been reported to me as a law enforcement officer, I would be investigating it steadfastly.

The 2020 election has been nerve-wracking, to say the least.
While I figured the Dems would play games, I never in a million years thought they’d take it so far that they made Biden – a bumbling doofus who can’t string a sentence together – the most vote-getting candidate in the history of our entire country.
I think this one tweet here sums that up nicely:
“Hillary didn’t steal enough votes and Biden stole too many !”
Regardless of the battle, President Trump and his team continue to fight on and demand justice and a FAIR election for his 73++ million REAL voters.
And President Trump has not been shy about sharing his feelings about the election, even though Twitter keeps “flagging” his tweets.
Yesterday he called the election “rigged” and shared a powerful video of his attorney Sidney Powell’s presser.
But the good news is…while were sweating bullets and worried about how this will all play out, WH insiders say the President is cool as a cucumber, and not worried.
As a matter of fact, he’s very confident, and to make you feel even better, he also says he’s been in a lot tougher spots than this.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals granted the Trump campaign’s request for an expedited review of a lower court’s decision to dismiss a lawsuit over voting in Pennsylvania.
Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis tweeted the news with an image of the court record Monday morning.
The appeal comes after U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Brann in Pennsylvania threw out the campaign’s lawsuit, which sought an injunction that would stop the certification of the election in Pennsylvania. Most counties in the state are expected to certify their results on Monday.
The Trump campaign argued that the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection under the law was violated by the state when counties took different measures to inform voters of technical issues that arose with the unprecedented number of mail-in ballots.
Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, along with seven counties that were sued by the Trump campaign and where Joe Biden led, argued Trump had already raised similar claims.
The Third Circuit’s order says the Trump campaign has until 4 p.m. local time Monday to file a brief supporting its argument for overturning Brann’s decision. Boockvar has until the same time Tuesday to file theirs.
It remains to be seen whether the Third Circuit will call for oral arguments before issuing a ruling.

Obama-era policies that favor so-called green energy over coal-fired electricity are dooming millions of Africans to lives of extreme poverty, environmental degradation, and increased risk of early death, according to a new analysis by the CO2 Coalition.
The study by the Arlington, Virginia-based coalition of 60 climate scientists and energy engineers contends that inadequate access to electricity is one of the key reasons for Africa’s grinding poverty.
Economic growth in a competitive, global market requires reliable, universal electrification. Without sufficient electricity for heating and cooking, Africans are exposed to high levels of indoor pollution from dirty fuels, the world’s greatest environmental health risk, according to the World Health Organization.
Globally, the WHO estimates that 3 billion people still cook and heat and illuminate their homes with solid fuels—wood, charcoal, and dried animal dung.

The poisons and particulate matter from burning solid fuels kill almost 4 million people a year from pneumonia, heart disease, pulmonary disease, stroke, lung cancer, and a variety of impaired immunities. Half of pneumonia deaths in children under age 5 are from soot in the house.
UNICEF estimates that the African share of those 4 million untimely deaths is 400,000.
Dangerous levels of indoor air pollution are almost guaranteed for families without access to electricity.
They also report that 352 million African children live in homes with solid-fuel cooking. Millions of women and children continue to walk many miles a day to gather not just water, but also wood for indoor burning, adding to deforestation.
The illnesses, deaths, and misery that are the result of energy poverty in Africa are improving only slowly compared with the rest of the world.
In 1960, those living in China and sub-Saharan Africa had a nearly equal life expectancy, 44 years. Today, China is at 77, which is only slightly less than the U.S. figure of 79. Regrettably, the African average is 61, better than it was 60 years ago, but still lagging behind much of the rest of the world.
According to the new research, that means that the 1 billion sub-Saharan Africans have a combined loss of 16 billion years of life compared with the Chinese.
Extreme generational poverty in sub-Saharan Africa is endemic, with 41% of the population living in absolute poverty, defined by the World Bank as an income of less than $1.40 per day.
A lack of access to reliable electricity is one of the primary reasons for this lack of economic growth.
Even in electrified areas of Africa, access is not reliable, since the grid is often down, sometimes on a daily basis.
That has led to a “dieselization” of the continent in recent decades. Soot-spewing diesel-fueled backup generators are in place for homes of the wealthy, factories, and government buildings. The reliance on this dirty source of power is so great that it’s estimated that many African nations spend more on diesel generation than on the electricity grid itself.
Is the answer to this energy poverty a complete reliance on wind and solar power? Not at all, as the unreliability of renewables would mean even more blackouts and brownouts, leading to even more “dieselization.”
The solution for providing dependable, affordable electricity may lie beneath the Africans’ feet in the form of cheap, abundant coal reserves that could be developed using American clean coal technology. South Africa controls nearly 70% of the continent’s reserves, but substantial coal deposits are also found in East Africa and in the Sahel of West Africa. More than 100 new coal-fired plants are on the drawing board in 11 African nations, and almost half of those are being financed and built by China.
In spite of Africa’s deadly health crisis, the World Bank now bars lending to maintain or build new coal-fired power plants. Instead, it is lending to countries to assist them in closing mines and replacing the existing power plants with renewables.
According to Akinwumi Adesina, the African Development Bank’s president, “Coal is the past, and renewable energy is the future.” He added: “There’s a reason God gave Africa sunlight.”
But that’s exactly the wrong formula.

Until “every legal vote” is counted, the presidential election isn’t over, prominent conservative leaders said in a joint statement Monday.
Members of the Conservative Action Project—a coalition of American political, economic, and social activists—say they are standing with those refusing to allow the election to conclude “until every legal vote has been counted.”
Former Attorney General Edwin Meese III, the founding chairman of the Conservative Action Project, and more than 100 other leaders in the conservative movement signed Monday’s statement, which reads in part:
Ours is a government of laws. Included in those laws are the processes by which elections at every level of government are conducted. The purpose of subjecting the election process to a legal regime is to ensure that results are, and are accepted as, just and accurate. This system works and all Americans should trust it. But, it must be allowed to fully work.
It is not a coup to insist that we follow our election laws. It does not erode the foundations of the republic to remind American citizens that the media does not certify elections. And it is not a stain on our national honor for a candidate to refuse to concede when there are open and compelling disputes about an electoral outcome.

On and after Nov. 7, a number of news outlets, including The Associated Press, declared former Vice President Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 presidential election, despite several unfinished legal inquiries into the fairness of the election in hotly contested states across the country.
In Pennsylvania, for example, Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Penn., and other GOP leaders are still pursuing a legal battle in which they question the constitutionality of the state’s mail-in voting practices and last-minute election rules changes.
The mainstream media “may think they get to decide the winners of our elections, [but] the people in our country decide, once every legal vote is counted,” Mary Vought, executive director of the Senate Conservatives Fund, told The Daily Signal in an email Monday.
Given that there are still ongoing investigations into the 2020 election, “our Presidential Election has not concluded,” the Conservative Action Project leaders asserted.
“The absolute integrity of each citizen’s legally cast vote for president is at stake in this presidential election,” Becky Norton Dunlop, a former White House adviser to President Ronald Reagan, told The Daily Signal in an email Monday.
Dunlop, one of the signers of the statement, noted that in 2000, it took more than a month for Americans to know for certain whether then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush or then-Vice President Al Gore had been elected. That was just as “difficult [a] time for our nation then as it is today,” Dunlop said.
But the fact remains, said Dunlop, that “only legal votes, and every legal vote, should be counted” to ensure the integrity of America’s election process. COLUMN BY

Terrorism and Extremist Violence in the United States (TEVUS) is a US government-funded database that tabulates violent attacks in the United States. Used by the US government and media alike, it is one of the fundamental sources of information about who is conducting violent attacks in the United States. TEVUS reporting appears to set out to cover up Islamic, Arab, Black Nationalist, and Left-Wing terrorism and extremist violence and attempts to document white and right-wing violence where little to no violence actually exists.
Much of the information about the existence of right-wing violence does in fact come from the responsible agency, which in this case is the Department of Homeland Security via TEVUS. The latest annual Homeland Threat Assessment published in October 2020 by DHS director Chad Wolf, stated: “That is why we design our programs to be threat agnostic – ensuring that we can combat a broad range of domestic threats. However, I am particularly concerned about white supremacist violent extremists who have been exceptionally lethal in their abhorrent, targeted attacks in recent years.”
TEVUS is a compilation of four open-source terror and extremism-related databases:

TEVUS uses their reporting and simply excludes many violent acts if they were perpetrated by non-whites — or worse, outright lies about the races of the individuals conducting violent acts. In a blatant display of data manipulation, the exclusively Arab 9/11 hijackers who murdered nearly 3,000 innocent people were categorized by TEVUS as “White/Caucasian non-Hispanic” and as a result, TEVUS is able to attribute all of those killed in 9/11 to whites. This is by far the largest source of deaths attributed to acts of violence by whites and wildly throws off the actual statistics to make white right-wing violence appear common. TEVUS reports there are 39 court cases which they characterize as right-wing, yet there is only one reference of any kind to terrorism in any of these court cases and that was a single instance where the attacker referred to his target as a ‘terrorist’ and a ‘suicide bomber.’
TEVUS systematically covers up the violence associated with black nationalist groups such as Black Lives Matter (BLM), even though BLM activists and supporters have allegedly killed at least 11 police officers and wounded nine since 2014 — none of that information is included. Recommendations, or should I say orders, towards the British public by the UK Government for the Annual ceremony which is held at the Cenotaph in London, on Remembrance Sunday each year, included asking the public to ‘stay away’, whilst the Royal Family, the Government and a handful of representatives from the armed forces did lay wreaths to mark the event.
The traditional Royal British Legion veteran march-past did not take place.
Respectfully, and attended by thousands, local, but small outdoor services did take place up and down the country but the penalty of a fine if you did feel so inclined to attend an indoor church service was also threatened. In some areas the police force was in attendance, just in case some over-zealous veteran did happen to stand too close to a comrade whilst they were locked out in the cold.
It was also reported that Prince Harry who asked for a wreath to be laid on his behalf at the cenotaph was also denied. Despite his 20 years in service and 2 tours of Afghanistan, it was reported that the reason he was denied that privilege, was that he is no longer a member of the monarchy.
The prime minister proudly announced that ‘the virus’ which has a 98% recovery rate would not permit the country to forget the fallen. Despite the attendance at the Cenotaph, by just the higher ups, which was then erroneously recorded by the BBC, neither his sentiments, nor their presence, represented my views.
I have a feeling that just like the silenced chimes of Big Ben, we have seen the very last of tradition and group patriotism if people do not see through the smoke screen of a covert dictatorship which is using a virus from China as it’s cover.
Like the closed doors of the churches during the last national lockdown, the division and the isolation that was instilled during our one-day act of remembering bravery, left a very bitter taste of betrayal. The older generation are dying, and a not so brave world is rising. Are men who were willing to die in bloody trenches now being replaced with a newly formed, more sensitive version who are afraid to stand shoulder to shoulder with their comrades?
Like the loveable geeks who feature in situation comedy called The Big Bang Theory, we have a quartet of similar, disheveled and not so stable politicians who are intellectually, scientifically and genetically modifying the human psyche to fit their own projected and superior view of Utopia. It doesn’t matter what you think. Your compliance and not your love of freedom or bravery is the requirement. This is communism.
Our very own sanitized Sheldon Cooper, Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, who never answers questions, has already intimated that hugging may be off the menu for Christmas this year, whilst we await the much-needed savior which is the un-licensed vaccination for Covid-19 which has found ways of excusing its manufacturers and the government from any liability should death or maiming occur now or in the long term. Recently, after being given a picture of my father visiting his mother whilst on leave from the Army, I became aware that it is only in recent years that I have come to realize and understand the sacrifices he made in his own life. And, although he would return home from the 2nd World War, alive but scared, he would later die a cruel death from Asbestos poisoning after working with the poison as a young man in the shipyards in his homeland of Ireland. It is unfortunate, my own children never got to meet him.
It is a known historical fact that profit before the health of men’s lives was willingly taken and risked in relation to people working with Asbestos.
The success of these companies hinged on keeping the health risks of asbestos a secret — but it was asbestos workers and consumers who paid the price. In order to keep the industry alive and prosperous, many companies took steps to ensure miners, factory workers and the public knew nothing about the true dangers of asbestos.
How easily we forget the evilness and greed of mankind as we claim to be a nation of ‘Remembrance’.

The blind faith which some of the public seem to have under the present UK government is in direct contrast to the discernment and common sense which we should have, based on the history and the heritage of the western world who have always enjoyed their freedoms, although sadly taken for granted.
Believing themselves to be crusaders, protecting themselves and others; the UK is woefully forgetting that their civil rights under common law which is the freedom to move, breath, assemble, provide for their families, and think for themselves which are all being systematically stolen, and may never be returned to them.
It is quite shocking to see the ease in which people have complied and given up these freedoms without question, in the belief they are fighting a battle for the health of mankind, whilst ignoring the obvious higher rates of suicides and mental and physical health problems in relation to the restrictions which have been handed out.
They are slavishly being hooked up to the world wide web. Welcome to the matrix, your new religion, which follows your every move and fact checks your thoughts by an army which does not respect your choice to research or even think for yourself. It is the replacement for the omnipresence of the true God.
The enemy, which is evil, is sly and does not possess integrity or bravery that real and decent people possess. It can only pretend it has it. The good news is it does not possess immortality. However, currently It requires your energy, your subservience and your life force to exist.
Since time began it has set out to destroy every man, woman and child, with an emphasis on men, and has succeeded in wiping them out in wars, removed them from their importance in the family, encouraged the abortion of mankind, feminizing them, sterilized and poisoned them and also euthanized them. Sometimes this has all been done in the name of ‘kindness’ and ‘choice’
Most alarming has been the compliance of the church who should be aware of these evils, and although there have been many objections from clergy who have now petitioned the government this time around in relation to the lockdown, there has also been little resistance, and a compliance to rules which have kept supermarkets and schools open, but have ordered that churches close their doors except for individual private prayer. In other words, socially distance, say nothing, and mask up.
For those who have decided to obey God, they are unfortunately now going underground, very much like they do in communist countries.
The real savior of mankind faced death for us humans and Moses stood up to the Pharaoh in Egypt to free the Israelites from their slavery and oppression.
In relation to respecting the authority of leaders, it was also Jesus himself who criticized the Sanhedrin and even called them snakes, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn’t bow to idols, and almost every prophet disobeyed rulers. Resistance to corrupt rulers to protect lives are throughout the bible and history.
We are not called to obey ungodly leaders above the authority of God but to respectfully point out and raise awareness of any misconduct or corruption which could seriously harm others. We are called to warn others of danger.
A battle between good and evil can never be won by compliance.

Alternative social-media platforms seen as dangerous, ‘anti-government’ for allowing users to post ‘conspiracy theories’ about election fraud
A threat to state-sponsored Facebook and Twitter?
The federally funded Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center sent an email alert last week to California law enforcement agencies warning them about the growth of alternative social media sites Parler, MeWe and Gab that cater to conservative Americans.
The Orange County center quoted from a recent USA Today article critical of Parler, MeWe and Gab for allowing conservatives to communicate and organize on their platforms free of censorship.
In the very same week that the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee was holding hearings to investigate the unfair censorship tactics that Facebook, Google and Twitter wield against conservative voices, elements within the federal law-enforcement bureaucracy were showing they are more worried about the growth of conservative social-media competition from sites like Parler, which honors users’ First Amendment rights. In an email sent Nov. 18 to California law enforcementagencies, the federal center in Orange County highlighted in yellow marker a portion of a USA Today article that bemoans the rapid growth of Parler, MeWe and Gab, which are “gaining momentum with a promise not to censor their users for behavior that might violate the policies of their rivals.”
The federal fusion center also highlighted the following passage from the USA Today article which seemed particularly worried about Americans posting “false claims of election fraud” in the 2020 presidential election.
“But much like the social media site Gab, Parler has quickly attracted the extremist crowd in addition to self-proclaimed center-right conservatives… Groups from the far-right Proud Boys, which includes large numbers of white supremacists, to heavily armed anti-government militias have gathered on the site to spread conspiracy theories, racist memes and false claims of election fraud.”
Insiders tell LeoHohmann.com that the 50-plus fusion centers scattered throughout the U.S. get much of their intelligence from the FBI.
If the FBI and the fusion centers are trying to sully the reputations of Parler, Gab and MeWe in the eyes of local law enforcement, that would suggest that the U.S. intelligence community is considering clamping down on these sites should Joe Biden become the next president.
“Everything they come out with lately is about right-wing this and right-wing that,” said one federal agent who asked not to be identified. “This is literally like electronic warfare when they’re sending alerts out to law enforcement, trying to change our views. That’s very disturbing because most law enforcement officers are conservative. This [email] contains some very harsh wording suggesting basically that if you’re on Parler or one of these other sites you’re an extremist. But they’re perfectly OK with Ilhan Omar’s extremist comments [on Twitter].”
What does this mean?
The Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center is one of dozens of federal “fusion centers” that Congress authorized to be opened in all 50 states after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The centers were supposed to aid state and local law enforcement by soliciting tips from the public and gathering intelligence information about potential Islamic terrorist attacks. But it did not take long before these federally funded centers turned their focus inward on the American people.
Fusion centers have been caught violating the civil rights of American patriots in the past, as reported by LeoHohmann.com [readhere and here], and now there is fresh evidence that these intel centers are focusing their spying activities not on the real terror threats of Antifa, BLM and the jihadists but on ill-defined “far-right extremists” and “white supremacists.”
Congress funnels tens of millions of federal tax dollars to these fusion centers through the Department of Homeland Security. By sending out such a politically charged email, the California fusion center, likely under the influence of the FBI, is telegraphing a clear bias against conservative speech. It appears that, to the federal deep state, the First Amendment only applies to Democrats, socialists and liberals.
While members of the hard left such as Congresswomen Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and even Iranian mullahs and ISIS jihadists, can tweet their anti-American invective without fear of being censored by Big Tech, the U.S. deep state is showing it does not want to afford the same free speech rights to hardworking, taxpaying Americans who love their country and want to keep it free.
“It’s just very scary if we’re going down this road,” the federal agent said.

The investigative journalists over at The Daily Beast report that Madison Cawthorn, the North Carolina Republican who will soon become the youngest member of Congress in American history, “has admitted he tried to convert Jews and Muslims to Christianity.”
So what?
As a Jew, I’ve had several Christian friends try to turn me toward Jesus—Lutherans, Catholics, and evangelicals. Though denominations seem to adopt different philosophies on how best to proselytize in a secular world, they have all been exceptionally polite about it.
I assume that they wouldn’t be very good Christians if they weren’t spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is, from what I gather, one of the central premises of the enterprise. To be honest, I’m often surprised at how shy Christians are at this task.

As a heathen, though, I am flattered by the attention. And as a person in possession of free will, I am also unconcerned. Never once have I found such efforts to be “anti-Semitic.”
The very universality of the endeavor tells me it is not. I simply assume that my friends are troubled that I have forsaken salvation. Maybe they’re right. I’ll find out soon enough.
Fortunately, I do not live in the Holy Roman Empire or medieval Portugal or a shtetl in the Pale. The notion that Jews should be offended by Christians approaching us with theological ideas is un-American. Trust me, Jews are not helpless in the face of arguments.
And Christians do not have the power to compel us to believe. Unlike progressives—who try to force nuns to fund abortions or evangelicals to participate in same-sex weddings—no Christian has ever endeavored to coerce me to perform any of their rites.
Cawthorn, I assume, does not possess any special power, either.
In an interview with Jewish Insider, the newly elected congressman claims to have converted “several Muslims to Christ.”
When asked if he had ever tried to convert Jews, he answered: “I have. I have, unsuccessfully. I have switched a lot of, uh, you know, I guess, culturally Jewish people. But being a practicing Jew, like, people who are religious about it, they are very difficult. I’ve had a hard time connecting with them in that way.”
Indeed, religious Jews are notoriously difficult to convert, since the entire notion of a Second Coming is incompatible with their beliefs. Jews have spent a few thousand years stubbornly resisting this sort of pressure. Proselytism is somewhat of a foreign concept to Orthodox Jews, as they are commanded to push away newcomers.
But all the feigned anger directed at Cawthorn is, as is usually the case when the topic arises, about smearing evangelical Christians—and little do with anti-Semitism. I know this because many of the very people who pretend to be insulted for Jewish people are constantly excusing genuine anti-Semitism.
“In all seriousness, this is a really anti-Semitic thing to say. It’s like the original anti-Semitic thing to say and doesn’t rely on any codes or tropes,” says the theatrical Chris Hayes. “And the entire GOP should condemn it. But of course, they won’t, and I’m willing to bet it gets one-twentieth of the coverage of Omar’s tweet. And this speaks to something pretty profound about how the two parties are viewed and whose ‘extremism’ gets attention.”
Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of Christianity knows that it is not “extreme” to spread the Gospel. One can’t say the same for those who single out Jews as being bestowed with the uniquely “evil” ability to hypnotize the world or to buy off Christians with their “Benjamins.”
Apologists for Rep. Ilhan Omar, for Hamas, for the Holocaust-denying Iranian terror regime that targets Jews around the world whether they are Israelis or not—those who dishonestly single out the Jewish state as a cancerous presence on the world while ignoring others—are, at best, functionally anti-Semitic. “Anti-Zionism,” not belief in the Trinity, is the predominant justification for violence against Jews around the world.
Yes, I understand that many evangelicals support Israel, in part, because they believe it is necessary for the fulfillment of end-times prophecy. Since I do not share their theology, I am completely unbothered by this position. Indeed, I strongly prefer their support to the antagonism of progressives who want to see Israel destroyed for far more nefarious reasons.
Those about to fire off emails with refresher courses on the history of European Jewry, please save your efforts. For more than a century now, attacks on Jews have predominantly emanated from secular fascists and leftists, Arab nationalists, and Islamists—not Christians spreading the good word.
It is in secular France, where gruesome murders of Jews are now an annual event, that men can’t wear yarmulkes in public. And, rest assured, it is not because of Mormon missionaries. An American Jew is far more likely to encounter anti-Semitism on progressive campuses than anywhere else in this country.
If an evangelical Christian approaches you while saying, “God is good!” the only thing you are likely to lose is your time.
