Sweden—Once Mocked for Its COVID Strategy—Now Has One of the Lowest COVID Mortality Rates in Europe

Sweden, which avoided strict lockdowns, now has a lower COVID mortality rate than 29 countries in Europe alone.

Early in the coronavirus pandemic, I asked a simple questionCould Sweden’s laissez-faire approach to the coronavirus actually work?

Unlike its European neighbors and virtually all US states, the Swedes had opted to not shut down the economy. The country of 10 million people took what was at first described as “a lighter touch.”

While other countries closed schools and businesses, life in Sweden stayed pretty normal. Kids went to public pools and libraries, while adults sipped wine and had lunch in local bistros. Though mass gatherings were prohibited, children kept going to school, though students older than 16 were encouraged to attend classes remotely. The Swedish government also encouraged people to work remotely and asked people over 70 to isolate themselves, if possible.

For taking this approach, Sweden—and the architect of its public health policies, Anders Tegnell—was widely condemned. Consider just a sampling of headlines:

These are just a few examples of the avalanche of criticism Sweden received for not locking down its economy like other governments around the world. A quick Google search will turn up dozens more.

I spent a great deal of time in 2020 and 2021 arguing that the media was getting the narrative wrong on Sweden, pointing out that Sweden’s response had resulted in exponentially fewer deaths than modelers had predicted and lower mortality overall than most of Europe.

The BBC also noted Sweden’s economy had not suffered nearly as much as the economies of other European nations, and, more importantly, as other countries were implementing more lockdown measures in 2021, daily COVID deaths in Sweden had reached zero.

That was nearly 9 months ago, however. How does Sweden rank compared to other European countries today?

Like many countries, Sweden saw cases spike with the arrival of Omicron, which resulted in a new wave of COVID deaths. However, the wave was much smaller than in other countries. In fact, Sweden’s overall COVID-19 mortality rate throughout the pandemic is one of the lower rates you’ll find in all of Europe.

The point in sharing this information is not to take a victory lap. The point is to learn from the mistakes made during the pandemic.

In March of 2020, when public health officials realized COVID-19 was more deadly than they previously believed, they panicked. Instead of pursuing similar courses humans had pursued in previous pandemics, public health authorities decided to copy the strategy of China—one of the most totalitarian regimes on the planet—and use the government to force entire sectors of the economy to shutdown. (Americans were told this was just for 15 days to “flatten the curve,” something that was quickly proven to be untrue.)

The strategy failed miserably. Study after study after study has shown the lockdowns failed to adequately protect populations, which is why non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) have been scrapped by countries around the world.

Shutting down society, however, came with serious and deadly consequences. The World Bank reported last year that global poverty surged during the pandemic, with 97 million more people living on less than $1.90 per day. In the United States, 8 million more people fell into poverty in 2020, tens of millions lost jobs, and hundreds of thousands of businesses went under. To mitigate these harms, the government “flooded the system with money,” which has resulted in surging inflation. The losses went beyond financial costs, of course. Cancer screenings plunged and drug overdoses reached record highs, resulting in an untold number of deaths.

And on Tuesday, The New York Times revealed the latest unintended consequence of the government’s lockdown experiment: a new study shows alcohol-related deaths spiked in 2020, increasing 25 percent from the previous year.

“The assumption is that there were lots of people who were in recovery and had reduced access to support that spring and relapsed,” said Aaron White, one the report’s authors and a senior scientific adviser at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Public officials made two serious mistakes above all others in their response to the virus. The first was assuming they possessed the knowledge and ability to contain a highly contagious respiratory virus through lockdowns and other NPIs.

Many world-leading epidemiologists at the time, like Tegnell, saw the futility of such an approach.

“In early March 2020, when Italy and Iran started to report many COVID deaths as the first countries outside China, it was clear to any knowledgeable infectious disease epidemiologist that the virus would eventually spread to all parts of the world,” Martin Kulldorff, a biostatistician and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2015 to 2021, told me. “At the time, we only knew a small proportion of the actual cases, so it was clear that it had already spread elsewhere and that it would be futile to try and eliminate the disease with contact tracing and lockdowns.”

The second mistake public officials made was not considering the unintended consequences of their actions. The writer and economist Henry Hazlitt once pointed out this is one of the perennial flaws in policymaking.

“[There’s a] persistent tendency of men to see only the immediate effects of a given policy,” Hazlitt wrote in Economics in One Lesson, “and to neglect to inquire what the long-run effects of that policy will be not only on that special group but on all groups.”

Hazlitt described this as “the fallacy of overlooking secondary consequences.”

Anders Tegnell, the architect of Sweden’s strategy who recently joined the World Health Organization, was one of the only public health officials in the world who acknowledged these secondary consequences,predicting that “the consequences of shutting down the economy [would] far outweigh the benefits.”

Tegnell was right, the data show. And the critics of Sweden’s policy should acknowledge that.

Mashayekh was affiliated with the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) in May 2021, as well as the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) in June 2021.

PCRF has been financially linked with the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development which was shut down by the United States government for funneling donations to terrorist organizations.

As of October 2021, Mashayekh was a “Civil Engineer” student at the University of Southern California (USC) and indicated in her Clubhouse bio that she was an “Engineer in the making” slated to graduate in 2022.

As of October 2021, Mashayekh was listed as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) “Senator” for USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering (VSOE).

In September 2021, Mashayekh was listed by USC’s American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Executive Board as the Pacific South West Conference (PSWC) Co-Chair as well as the President of USC’s Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI).

As of October 2021, Mashayekh used the handle “YFalasteen” and the screen name “Umm Obaidah 𓂆” on Twitter. Mashayekh’s Twitter bio read: “Anti-Zionist, Engineer, Artist, Activist.”

Spreading Antisemitism

On May 9, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “yel3an el yahood [curse the Jews]😌.”

On May 30, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “anyways yel3an el yahood [curse the Jews].”

On June 3, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “It’s my little sisters first day of first grade and I asked her what she learned today and she said “yel3an el yahood [Curse the Jews]” 😭😂 nah where was this curriculum when i was in school 😭…”

Mashayekh retweeted June 26, 2021 tweet that read: “zionism is nazism, they even collaborated.”

The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Twenty-eight European countries, as well as Canada, Australia, Israel and Argentina, have also adopted the definition.

Violent Hatred of Zionists

On October 25, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Oh no how horrifying that I want to kill my colonizer!!” Mashayekh’s tweet was in response to a Canary Mission tweet that read: “It is HORRIFYING that the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Senator from @USCViterbi Yasmeen Mashayekh tweeted: ‘I want to kill every motherf**king zionist.’”

On May 9, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “I want to kill every motherf**king zionist.”

On May 11, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Palestinian youth set settlers on fire in Haifa🔥😂.” Mashayekh’s tweet included a video of the incident featuring superimposed Arabic text that read: “A Jew’s head was set ablaze in Haifa a while ago. Long live the heroes’ arms.”

On May 11, 2021, during Israel’s “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW)” against Hamas in Gaza, violent Arab riots broke out in Haifa and Lod, Israeli cities with large Arab populations. The rioters in Haifa reportedly “threw rocks, launched fireworks, and hurled bottles at the various demonstrations,” according to police. They also burned trash cans.

On May 12, 2021, a Twitter user responded to her tweet and wrote: “They should’ve filled it with gas and lit them zionists up” to which Mashayekh replied: “LMFAOOOOOO [Laughing my f**king a** off] THEY DID THOUGH.”

On June 21, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Zionists are going to f**king pay.”

Calling for the Destruction of Israel and the United States

On June 30, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Death to Israel and its b**ch the US.”

Mashayekh retweeted June 29, 2021 tweet that read: “May i****l [Israel] burn to the ground. #SaveSilwan.”

Ownership claims to lands in Silwan, a Palestinian-dominated community in East Jerusalem, have been hotly contested as many Jews and Palestinians possess conflicting deeds to the same properties, with Jews holding deeds that pre-date those held by Palestinians. Jews who have attempted to reclaim their properties and move into Silwan have been frequently met with Palestinian violence.

Mashayekh retweeted June 27, 2021 tweet that read: “When we say free Palestine we mean ALL OF PALESTINE! We want all of 48 back.”

On June 21, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “If you are not for the complete destruction of Israel and the occupation forces then you’re anti-Palestinian.”

On June 15, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Death to Israel.”

Supporting Hamas

On May 8, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Yes I f**king love hamas now stfu [shut the f**k up].”

Hamas is a designated terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan and Israel. Since the 1990s, Hamas has been carrying out suicide bombings and rocket attacks against civilian targets, wounding and killing thousands of Israelis.

On May 10, 2021, she tweeted: “All my homies love Hamas.”

On May 13, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “We ask everyone to stop filming/sharing footage of the firing of rockets towards the Zionist state because it will negatively affect our resistance. Not sharing will stop [Israel’s] ability to pinpoint where the rockets are being fired from. We are all responsible.”

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On May 29, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted a photo of a Hamas militant walking alongside a child with his arm perched on the child’s shoulder and captioned it: “I love this picture so much.”

Hamas’s founding charter called for the murder of Jews, while the terror group’s “summer camps” have taught children how to wage war.

On June 25, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “I thirst over NOBODY except Abu Obaida ofc [of course].”

Abu Obaida is the spokesperson of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

Supporting the PFLP

On February 11, 2022, Mashayekh tweeted: “AAAAAAHHHHHH GUYS LOOK WHAT @notshathaa SENT ME .”

The tweet included a photo of a physical copy of the terrorist organization, the PFLP’s, official manifesto, Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine, that she had received from anti-Israel activist Shatha Ayman.

The U.S. State Department has listed the PFLP as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) since 1997, given its history of attacks against civilians, airplane hijackings and suicide bombings. In 2014, two PFLP terrorists murdered five Jewish men in prayer and one Druze police officer in a Jerusalem synagogue with an ax and gun.

The group’s manifesto lists [p.4-10] the PFLP’s enemies as Israel, “World Zionist Movement,” the U.S. and “World Imperialism” and claims [p.62] that the liberation of Palestine cannot be achieved “except through armed struggle and a protracted popular liberation war.”

On September 23, 2020, Mashayekh posted a renowned photo of Leila Khaled to Instagram and captioned it: “LEILA KHALED: PALESTINIAN LIBERATION ICON.”

Khaled is a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP’s Political Bureau.

Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

The PFLP claimed credit for the 2014 Har Nof Massacre where six people were murdered during morning prayers in a Jerusalem synagogue. The PFLP also claimed credit for the 2001 assassination of the Israeli tourism minister.

Glorifying Terrorists

Mashayekh retweeted June 29, 2021 tweet from the PYM that read: “KHADER ADNAN ENDS 25-DAY HUNGER STRIKE AND IS FREE! Palestinian political prisoner, Khader Adnan, ends his historic 25-day Hunger Strike & is free from Zionist detention after his abduction from a checkpoint near Nablus on May 30th.FREE ALL OUR POLITICAL PRISONERS! 🇵🇸 ✊🏼.”

Khader Adnan is a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organization. A 2007 YouTube video showed Adnan praising and encouraging suicide bombings: “Who among you will carry the next explosive belt? Who among you will fire the next bullets? Who among you will have his body parts blown all over?”

Mashayekh retweeted July 4, 2021 tweet that read: “Ooooof free Yasmine [Jaber]! Israel jails East Jerusalem woman for aiding Lebanon’s Hezbollah.”

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

Yasmine Jaber was reportedly recruited by “Hezbollah operatives at a conference in 2015 and asked to recruit others in east Jerusalem.… and communicated with them via social media.” An Israeli court reportedly sentenced Jaber to 30 months in prison, probation and a fine in a plea bargain, after Jaber acknowledged aiding Hezbollah over several years.

Promoting Incitement

On May 11, 2021, during Israel’s OGW in Gaza, Mashayekh tweeted: “LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA.”

Since the early 2000’s, the term “intifada” has carried the connotation of violence.

On the same date, Mashayekha tweeted: “INTIFADA INTIFADA.”

On May 7-10, 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al Aqsa compound, following claims the Al Aqsa mosque was in danger.

The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state.

Incitement surrounding Al Aqsa was a leading factor in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers from May 10-21, 2021.

Israel responded by launching “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

Incitement around Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing more than 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israel’s major centers on May 10-21, 2021.

In response to rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel launched “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” striking military targets in the terrorist-controlled enclave.

Mashayekh retweeted June 24, 2021 tweet that read: “#photo Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning, protected by the occupation forces.”

Demonizing Israel

On June 27, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “oppose occupation oppose apartheid oppose colonialism oppose ethnic cleansing #SaveSilwan.”

On June 26, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Israel has no history, just a criminal record.”

Mashayekh retweeted June 12, 2021 tweet that referred to Israel as “a terrorist state.”

On April 8, 2021, Mashayekh shared a graphic from SJP Tufts “Instagram story” that promoted the Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP)’s “Deadly Exchange” theory.

In 2017, JVP launched the “Deadly Exchange” campaign that accused American Jewish organizations of promoting human rights abuses. JVP also released a video that blamed [00:04:04] U.S.-based Jewish organizations for violence that occurs against Black and Brown communities, immigrants and activists in the U.S.”

Endorsing an Anti-Israel Agitator

Mashayekh retweeted June 26, 2021 tweet by anti-Israel agitator Mohammed El-Kurd that read: “Israeli terrorist forces arresting people left and right in Sheikh Jarrah, making our families’ lives a living hell… sick of these fascists #SaveSheikhJarrah.”

In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

El-Kurd was one of the Palestinian tenants whose family was illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in Sheikh Jarrah. In May 2021, El-Kurd returned from the United States to his family home, following a February 16, 2021 Israeli District Court ruling to evict over 70 Palestinian tenants.

Mashayekh retweeted a June 21, 2021 tweet from El-Kurd that read: “Israeli occupation soldiers are rabid terrorists.”

Anti-Israel Activism

On June 9, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “Thank you everyone who placed an order! 100% of profits have been donated to PCRF [Palestine Children’s Relief Fund]. Please please please continue to support us by spreading awareness.”

On May 12, 2021, Mashayekh tweeted: “HI!!! I HAVE SOMETHING TO PROMOTE! PLEASE FOLLOW @palyouthmvmt FOR UPDATES FROM PALESTINE AND INFORMATION REGARDING PROTESTS AND SUCH ❤️.”

On May 10, 2021, during Israel’s OGW in Gaza, Mashayekh tweeted: “Los Angeles !!!! TOMORROW!!!” and shared a promotional flyer to Twitter for the May 11, 2021 “Emergency Rally” titled “All Out for Palestine.” The rally took place outside the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles and was co-organized by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), PYM, Al-Awda as well as JVP-LA.

On May 8, 2021, Mashayekh promoted to Twitter a May 15, 2021 “LA RALLY & PROTEST” titled “Nakba 73 – Resistance Until Liberation Rally.”

Nakba is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

Mashayekh shared the event flyer to Twitter and captioned it: “LOS ANGELES!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Also, on May 8, 2021, Mashayekh promoted another May 15, 2021 “RALLY & PROTEST” in Houston. The event was titled “Nakba 73: We Will Return” and was co-organized by the PYM. Mashayekh captioned the post: “HOUSTON !!!!!!!!!!!”

Supporting BDS

Mashayekh retweeted June 29, 2021 tweet that read: “Also now more than ever it’s SO IMPORTANT to boycott boycott BOYCOTT… #SaveSilwan.”

On June 8, 2021, Mashayekh responded to a tweet and wrote: “This is what I use but you might wanna double check if it’s bds friendly  .”

Mashayekh retweeted June 6, 2021 tweet that read: “boycott zionist twitter. i dont wanna see anyone engage anymore.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 as an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement” to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.”

In 2015, Barghouti was quoted saying that “BDS aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was, and to isolate its regime of oppression in order to achieve our UN-stipulated rights.”

The dominant organization in the BDS Movement is the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Campaign National Committee (BNC), founded by Barghouti in 2007, during the First Palestinian Conference for the Boycott of Israel.

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel and anti-Israel rallies and protests.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments, backed by anti-Israel affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of — or divestment from — Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

These boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. In 2013, when the student government of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats and the spitting on a student wearing a Star of David necklace.

On the heels of national outcry over sexually explicit books in school libraries, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Friday requiring schools to be transparent with parents about instructional reading materials.

“In Florida, our parents have every right to be involved in their child’s education,” DeSantis said in a statement. “We are not going to let politicians deny parents the right to know what is being taught in our schools. I’m proud to sign this legislation that ensures curriculum transparency.”

High-Quality Study Finds Preschool Enrollment Makes Children Learn Less And Misbehave More

The children more likely to be brought up mostly by their own families, by contrast, were happier and learned better. Low-income children who attended Tennessee’s highly praised preschool program performed significantly worse on every academic and social measurement by sixth grade compared to peers who did not attend the program, a recent high-quality study found.

“[T]he children randomly assigned to attend Pre-K had lower state achievement test scores in third through sixth grades than control children, with the strongest negative effects in sixth grade,” summarize the Vanderbilt University study authors. “A negative effect was also found for disciplinary infractions, attendance, and receipt of special education services…”

Enrollment in preschool programs has exploded in the United States since 1980, the study authors note, from very few four-year-olds to approximately two-thirds today. But approximately half of four-year-olds who attend preschool do so part-time. Tennessee’s statewide Voluntary Preschool (TN-VPK) program, by contrast, was relatively time-intensive, requiring its low-income students to be in classrooms of up to 20 total children for at least 5.5 hours a day.

This study suggests family care is better for four-year-olds than TN-VPK. The only positive results for TN-VPK participants compared to non-TN-VPK peers occurred at the end of preschool. Then from third through sixth grade, only negative results were documented for TN-VPK participants, and the negative effects increased over time.

“On the sixth grade TNReady tests, control children [who mostly didn’t attend preschool] continued to outperform the TN-VPK children in reading, mathematics, and science, with statistically significant differences larger than those observed in third grade,” the study says.

This trend of increasingly negative disparities over time among preschool attendees also affected student behavior records, the study says: “All analyses revealed higher rates of recorded disciplinary events for TN-VPK participants than non-participants, and these differences were statistically significant except for the weighted analysis for major offenses.”

These negative behavioral findings included decreased rates of school attendance, violations of school policies such as cheating and disobeying the dress code, being held back a grade, and being diagnosed with a learning disability or emotional disturbance.

The study authors expressed surprise at their results, as did their 2018 report that looked at the third-grade outcomes for the same 2,990 children. But they stood by their data.

“If the programs we have created do not produce the desired effects, the findings themselves should not be dismissed simply because they were unanticipated and unwelcome,” write the authors, Kelley Durkin, Mark Lipsey, Dale C. Farran, and Sarah Wiesen, in the study.

Farran told NPR, “This is still the only randomized controlled trial of a statewide pre-K, and I know that people get upset about this and don’t want it to be true.”

But a longtime preschool teacher and nanny writing for the Institute of Family Studies about the Tennessee results, Tara Thieke, wasn’t surprised by these results at all.

“I observed that even the highest quality care could elicit sustained traumatic responses,” she wrote. “…I believe that what is celebrated as adjustment (‘see, they’re fine!’) was more frequently a sign of the child learning the futility of crying out. … Separation from the staff with whom they spent most of their time became as traumatic as separation from parents. Stressful transitions and confusion flooded the child’s body: as repeated studies have shown, the levels of the stress-hormone cortisol remain elevated for children in institutionalized care compared to children in a home setting.”

This is not the only study, or the only good-quality study, to find similarly negative consequences of enrolling children in preschool. Many do.

For example, recent studies of a large government childcare program for children ages 0 to 5 in Quebec found participants experienced significant increases in anxiety, aggression, hyperactivity, and crimes committed. One study on the Quebec program found “children exposed to the program were 4.6 percent more likely to be convicted of a crime and 17 percent more likely to commit a drug crime. Their health and life satisfaction were worse.”

Leftists devote plenty of discussion to the “school-to-prison pipeline” they say is the result of school discipline for unruly children. Based on the most robust evidence about mass early childhood institutionalization, however, it seems it’s more statistically legitimate to suggest a “preschool to prison pipeline.”

Federal studies on nonmaternal care for preschool-age children have repeatedly found:

the more time children spent in any kind of non-familial child care, and sometimes specifically in centers, the more aggressive and disobedient they proved to be at two (but not three) and 4.5 years of age, as well as across their elementary school years; and the more impulsive they proved to be at age 15, at which age they also engaged in more ‘risky’ behavior than children who experienced far less non-familial care across their first five years of life.

The only other randomized trial of preschool enrollment besides this TN-VPK project, conducted on the federal Head Start program, found that preschool enrollment did not measurably improve life and academic outcomes for the children enrolled. If anything, children enrolled in Head Start showed worse math and emotional outcomes than peers who did not. That study extended only to third grade, and the release of the results was delayed.

These studies demonstrate the bankruptcy of politicians’ desire to increase government subsidies for separating young children from their families. TN-VPK has been widely touted by politicians and media as a model for other states and is ranked as having 9 out of 10 elements of a “high-quality” program by the National Institute of Early Education Research.

“Tennessee’s pre-K program is the kind of state initiative that President Obama wants to provide incentives to states to expand,” said Education Secretary Arne Duncan in a 2013 speech. President Joe Biden’s signature Build Back Better cradle-to-grave welfare proposal includes a massive expansion of government childcare. The proposal aims to institute universal government preschool for three- and four-year-olds and subsidized daycare for children as young as babies.

Tennessee’s program includes what preschool advocates say are marks of high-quality programs: paying teachers as much as K-12 public school counterparts, hiring only state-licensed teachers, putting a teacher’s aide in every classroom, and following a state-determined curriculum. But none of these, the study authors note, has been proven to actually benefit children.

In fact, studies have also thrown cold water on the idea that teacher certification improves teacher quality, as measured by students’ academic growth: “There have been three very large studies, the latest one in 2018, which are not showing any relationship between quality and [teacher] licensure,” Farran also told NPR.

As a randomized, controlled trial, the highest quality available to social science, the Tennessee study is rare. Most preschool studies are less rigorous and conducted by open advocates for large-scale child-parent separation. The 79 TN-VPK locations that had more applicants than room awarded entrance randomly, allowing for a robust test group of 2,990 children.

Of the control group, 63 percent were cared for at home in their preschool year. The rest attended a mix of government and private preschools and daycares. This suggests the negative effects of preschool might be even stronger than this study indicates since two-fifths of the control group also experienced preschool environments at age 4.

Tolerance of different viewpoints and values is a key principle of a free society, and yet in classrooms and on campuses across the country, young people increasingly self-censor and self-silence to avoid speaking out against the dominant cultural narrative.

Some students may not even realize that there are different viewpoints and values, conditioned as they are from their early days of schooling to accept whatever their teachers say. And their teachers are being similarly conditioned, spending time in colleges of education that tie grades to ideological activism and link achievement to allegiance with an approved interpretation of concepts like “social justice” and critical race theory. 

All of this can lead parents to wonder what they can do to help prevent their children from being indoctrinated into a belief system that may run counter to their own values or may not allow for viewpoint diversity.

District’s push for ‘gender-nonconforming’ accommodations has irked parents and educators

A school district in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has become the center of a parent-teacher firestorm after leaked documents revealed instructors told parents they must “earn” the right to know their children’s sexual identity, and showed the school pushed a “heterosexual privilege” checklist.

The district’s aggressive push for “gender-nonconforming” accommodations has irked parents and educators who say the school’s training and policy changes surrounding the issue have gone too far.

“The actions of the Eau Claire Area School District are not only dangerous to the mental, emotional and physical health of its students, but they also violate the constitutional rights of parents to make choices about their family life and upbringing of their children,” said Ian Prior, senior adviser at America First Legal and creator of the Fight for Schools PAC.

Of particular scorn in the district’s guidance was a slide stating, “Some transgender, non-binary, and/or gender-nonconforming students are not ‘open’ at home for reasons that may include safety concerns or lack of acceptance. School personnel should speak with the student first before discussing a student’s gender nonconformity or transgender status with the student’s parent/guardian.”

Groups of parents expressed outrage at the notion they had to earn access to their children’s information.

“Remember, parents are not entitled to know their kids’ identities. That knowledge must be earned,” a training slideshow for the Eau Claire School District told school staff.

American Elites Have Deep Ties To A New Chinese Spy Chief

The new deputy head of a propaganda and espionage agency in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has documented ties with business tycoons, university heads, and other elite members of American society.

Chen Xu, former party secretary of one of the PRC’s most prestigious universities, Tsinghua, was promoted to deputy head of the United Front Work Department (UFWD), according to an updated leadership roster on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) portal, which was first reported in Chinese media on Feb. 28.

The Department of State described the operations of the UFWD as including “the use or threat of physical violence, theft and release of private information, espionage, sabotage, or malicious interference in domestic political affairs, academic freedom, personal privacy, or business activity” in a 2020 press statement.

The general secretary of the CCP, Xi Jinping, labeled the UFWD a “magic weapon” for “realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” in a 2014 speech celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a state organ which oversees the UFWD.

Recently, Beijing’s espionage operations have garnered increased scrutiny in the U.S. following the FBI’s charging of five individuals with “transnational repression schemes” on Mar. 16, crimes which allegedly included the targeting of a Congressional candidate.

The Justice Department’s announcement comes just two months after MI5 named a London solicitor, Christine Ching Kui Lee, as an alleged UFWD operative acting to financially influence British politicians in a January “security service interference alert” issued to the House of Commons.

Republican Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas, who is the lead of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and chair of the group’s China Task Force, spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation about the dangers of associating with CCP, UFWD, and CPPCC members.

“The Justice Department’s indictments this week are yet another wakeup call that the CCP is actively reaching into American society and trying to limit our freedoms,” McCaul said, making reference to the FBI’s Wednesday press conference as evidence of the looming espionage threat. “Years of law enforcement activity, including this week, clearly show that this transnational repression can raise to the level of criminal activity, and Americans should be aware when they are dealing with entities who carry out the CCP’s objectives abroad.” (RELATED: DOJ Kills The China Initiative, Kowtowing To A Chinese-American Group With Documented CCP Ties)

Blackstone’s Chinese Communist Party-Backed IPO

The UFWD’s new deputy, Chen, has spent years cultivating relationships with U.S. politiciansleaders in the Chinese-American community, student associations, and other high-profile individuals, such as the billionaire CEO of The Blackstone Group, Stephen Schwarzman.

Schwarzman’s connections to individuals tied to the CCP began years before meeting Chen at Tsinghua University.

Schwarzman began traveling to China in 1990, but by 2007, when his global investment business, Blackstone, opened its second Asia-Pacific office in Hong Kong, Schwarzman had already begun keeping regular company with figures directly and indirectly associated with the CCP, such as Antony Leung.

Before heading up Blackstone’s Hong Kong office, Leung was employed as the financial secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In that capacity, Leung reported to the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Tung Chee-hwa, a man linked to PRC influence operations across America and someone the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission reports is “clearly associated with the United Front.”

Mao Zedong’s right-hand man, Zhou Enlai, was the first person appointed to the position of vice-chairman of the CPPCC, a title Tung now holds.

Schwarzman credits Tung’s subordinate, Leung, with the lion’s share of Blackstone’s success in the PRC.

Schwarzman said it was Leung who was by his side when he first met with Xi Jinping during the future president’s short stint as party secretary of Shanghai in 2007, and it was Leung who helped arrange for $3 billion in funding for Blackstone’s June 2007 IPO from China Investment Corp (CIC), a sovereign wealth fund created by the CCP.

“When we were going public in 2007, we were planning a $4 billion IPO, and the government of China came in and asked can we buy $3 billion of the $4 billion IPO?” Schwarzman told The Economic Times in 2020. “This was sort of a shock because I have not been to China since 1990 and nobody buys three-quarters of an IPO.”

“So, what we did is, we just increased it to $7 billion and we became the world’s second-largest IPO of the decade after Google,” Schwarzman told The Economic Times. “As a result of this, it was for the first time China had bought an equity interest in a public company outside of China since modern China was established in 1949.”

After going public, Blackstone’s first earnings report arrived in August 2007, showing the firm’s profits had tripled over a year.

Today, Blackstone’s revenue sits north of $22 billion a year, up from just over $3 billion in 2007, according to their annual report, with the company now proclaiming itself the “largest owner of commercial real estate globally.” (RELATED: ‘Beat Him Until He Cannot Run For Election’: Chinese Secret Police Target Congressional Candidate And Other Americans)

The Tsinghua Clique

Schwarzman also credits Leung with helping him set up the 2013 deal for Schwarzman Scholars, a one-year English-language international program at Tsinghua University which required $300 million in fundraising

As a one-party government, the political power to control the PRC has historically been fought over by competing intra-party “cliques,” of which there are known to be at least three: the Shanghai Clique, the Communist Youth League Clique and the Tsinghua Clique, which Xi is said to lead.

Chen Xu was promoted to party secretary of Tsinghua University in December 2013 and thereafter became an important and frequent point of contact for Schwarzman time and time and time again.

As Tsinghua’s party secretary, Chen held an important position for both the university and the CCP, with Tsinghua serving as both a fertile training ground for domestic and international talent, as well as a capable vehicle for projecting the PRC’s soft power.

According to her station, Chen was expected to promote the interests of both her university, as well as the CCP, which more often than not were indistinguishable.

When Xi arranged for President Vladimir Putin to receive an honorary doctorate degree from Tsinghua University in 2019, it was Chen who “presided over the ceremony and read out the address of honor,” welcoming the Russian dictator into the “Tsinghua family,” according to a Chinese state-run media Global Times report(RELATED: Below Their Lines: American Corporations Cancel Russia But Remain Silent On Uyghur Genocide)

Schwarzman Scholars

When the opening convocation for Schwarzman Scholars was held, the Great Hall of the People — Beijing’s prime CCP venue for “state affairs and diplomatic activities” — was selected to host the event in April 2013.

From its inception, Schwarzman Scholars attracted high-level CPPCC and UFWD attention.

David Daokui Li, a member of the CPPCC of which Tung was the vice chairman, was appointed in 2013 as the dean of Schwarzman Scholars. Among other things, Li would chair a seminar for the program’s admissions attended by CCP cadre from the UFWD, Communist Youth League and central committee, while Tung himself sat on the advisory board for the program.

Schwarzman sat beside the CCP’s highest-ranking female, Liu Yandong — the vice premier and former head of both the UFWD and Confucius Institute project — during the program’s opening convocation in April, then again in November 2013 when Liu visited Washington D.C., and again in 2016 when the program began its first semester.

“The Schwarzman Scholars program is extremely fortunate to have the support from China’s top leadership, exemplified by the gracious congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and by the unwavering support of Vice Premier Liu Yandong,” said Tsinghua University President Chen Jining in April 2014.

Liu reappeared in Schwarzman’s life again and again, with Schwarzman labeling Liu a “special friend” in the acknowledgment section of his 2019 book “What It Takes: Lessons in the Pursuit of Excellence.”

Schwarzman also thanked many other “friends and colleagues in the Chinese government” in his book, such as “President Xi JinpingPremier Li KeqiangVice President Wang Qishan” and high-ranking influence operatives, such as Sun Chunlan, another vice premier and former head of the UFWD, with whom Schwarzman Scholars engaged at least once or twice.

Chen was also thanked in the acknowledgment section of Schwarzman’s book.

“Party Secretary Madame Chen Xu at Tsinghua has also been an essential part of the senior leadership who created the opportunity for Schwarzman Scholars to occupy a unique position at the university,” reads Schwarzman’s acknowledgment. “She and President Qiu have helped create broad support for the program within the Chinese government. I always enjoy meeting with her and President Qiu on my frequent visits to Beijing.”

While Chen and Tung worked off and on together over the years, Schwarzman and Tung also continued to stay in touch.

As honorary chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) — characterized as a type of UFWD front organization in a 2018 Jamestown Foundation report — Tung often appeared at the body’s annual galas in New York, including with Schwarzman in 2017 and the following year.

On stage during the 2018 gala, Tung praised Schwarzman for “his remarkable and impactful contributions to a constructive and cooperative China-U.S. relationship,” before personally presenting the billionaire with the “Goodwill Ambassador for China-U.S. Exchange” award.

While Schwarzman Scholars did not immediately respond to request for comment, a spokesperson for Blackstone told the DCNF: “The insinuations are false and misleading. ‘The UFWD And CPPCC Are Not Benign Entities’

Not long after helping establish Schwarzman Scholars, Schwarzman’s partner, Leung, left Blackstone in November 2013.

Today, the senior managing director of greater China for Blackstone is a man named Liping Zhang, another member of the CPPCC.

The addition of Schwarzman Scholars to Tsinghua was no less than a watershed moment for the university, coinciding with a sharp spike in the institution’s international prestige, an event which also dovetailed with Xi Jinping’s rise, offering Chen unprecedented access to a surplus of global elite and ample opportunity to advance her personal, professional, and political interests.

“The UFWD and CPPCC are not benign entities,” Rep. McCaul told the DCNF. “They are elements of the CCP charged with carrying out political subversion. Americans should be aware of their own exposure to the CCP, which is distinct from ordinary foreign ties.”

“Whether it’s spreading CCP propaganda, exporting sensitive technology to China, or lobbying for United Front groups, there are many activities that benefit the CCP that are legal in the United States — at least for now,” said McCaul. “As we saw with the passage of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which banned the importation of Uyghur slave labor goods, things can change fast as the CCP threat comes into focus. Even in areas where federal intervention isn’t appropriate, cooperation with the CCP is carrying increasing reputational, financial, and moral costs as Americans better understand our adversary.”

Senator Ted Cruz questioned Biden’s SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson (KBJ) about her seat on the Board of Directors of Georgetown Day School (GDS), a private school in Washington, D.C.

Georgetown Day School teaches its students Critical Race Theory (CRT) and has CRT not only in the school’s curriculum but multiple books in its library on CRT.

On the Georgetown Day School’s Welcome page you will  find this statement:

Nearly 75 years ago, Georgetown Day School was founded as the first integrated school in Washington, DC, and our School’s longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are grounded in that history.

When you go to the GDS’ Our Philosophy page you find this statement:

GDS graduates leave the School with a love of learning, an abhorrence of bigotry and intolerance, a broadly rounded fund of knowledge, the ability to enter the great conversations of life, and the willingness and capacity to bring needed change to a troubled world.

Sitting on the board of directors of GDS then KBJ must know about the purpose and philosophy of the school.

Note that KBJ says that the board of directors doesn’t approve the curriculum. However, the board of directors certainly approves GDS’ mission and philosophy statements.

Senator Marsha Blackburn also pointed out that the school teaches its children that they,

“can choose their own gender and teaches them about so-called White privilege.”

On June 25, 2021, Biden signed an Executive Order on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the Federal Workforce. According to a White House fact-sheet, the Executive Order, among other items:

  • “Establishes a government-wide initiative to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all parts of the Federal workforce. 
  • charges all Federal agencies with reviewing within 100 days whether employees who are members of underserved communities face barriers to employment, promotion, or professional development within their workforce.
  • Directs agencies to seek opportunities to establish or elevate Chief Diversity Officers within their organizations.
  • Expands diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility training throughout the Federal workforce.
  • Directs agencies to ensure that the Federal health benefits system equitably serves LGBTQ+ employees and their dependents by expanding access to comprehensive gender-affirming health care.”

This single action created a massive bureaucracy to push the three myths of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Surely Ketanji Brown Jackson knows about the Biden Executive Order and at some point may have to rule a case about these myths.

The Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson, reads:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

What Jefferson, and the founding fathers, understood that while men are created equal by God, once born they, via nature and nurture, become different not equal. Some are stronger, have a higher IQ, are more prone to success, have families, have children and grandchildren and have hopes and dreams for the future.

It doesn’t matter what the color of ones skin is, what matters in the long run is the content of ones character. Sadly Georgetown Day School isn’t teaching this to its students.

However, Jefferson understood that the role of government was to protect and defend our individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If government fails to protect these rights then the Declaration of Independence demands:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotismit is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Perhaps the three greatest and most “persistent, persuasive and unrealistic” myths are diversity, equity and inclusion. These myths have taken the idea of “equal justice under the law” and turned it on its collectivist head. These myths threaten “abuses and usurpations” and are leading America toward “absolute despotism.”

These myths are race based and by definition racist policies.

Those who promote “diversity, equity and inclusion” want these myth for some but not for all Americans.

These three myths have become the rallying cry for the Biden administration, the Democrat Party, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, social media, the legacy media and Hollywood. Anyone who doesn’t support any or all of these myths is labeled a right wing radical, homophobic, Islamophobic, racist, white supremacist and domestic terrorist.

The Bottom Line

In an The National Interest article Adam Milstein, James Jay Carafano and Elan S. Carr wrote:

A recent Heritage Foundation study found strong anti-Israel bias in the social media posts of “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (DEI) officials at colleges and universities throughout the United States. These officials criticize Israel far more frequently and far more severely than they do China. Their posts about Israel exceed those mentioning China by a factor of three, and almost all of their statements about Israel express condemnation, whereas nearly two-thirds of their comments on China convey praise.

These disturbing findings should surprise no one. U.S. campuses have become hotbeds of hostility toward the state of Israel as well as toward the idea of American exceptionalism, and in the radical religion of the campus, far-left professors are the priests and DEI officers are the choir.

America was founded as the new Israel. Our Founding Fathers believed in the power of the God of Abraham and said so in both the Declaration of Independence and in the U.S. Constitution and in the First Amendment there to.

On February 14th, 2022 The Daily Conservative reported:

A private school in Rhode Island has excluded white children from an event, allowing only those who “identify as a student of color or multiracial” to attend.

The Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island, excluded white students from attending the guest speaker event.

“In a February 7, 2022, email to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, the school invited only non-white students to attend a ‘Students of Color affinity group’ speaking event with actress and author Karyn Parsons, who is best known for her role as Hilary Banks in NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” reports Breitbart News.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are anti-American, un-America and anti-Semitic myths designed to separate us, make us unequal and shut some out of the political, cultural, legal and social systems.

Remember all men are created equal but after that it is up to them to do what is right, good and healthy.

During the National Prayer Breakfast of 1963, President John F. Kennedy said,

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.”

Finally, George Washington University associate professor Elisabeth Anker in a CBC Radio interview said,

“Freedom is a slippery concept…On the far right, [individual freedom] is often translated into somebody who refuses to be bound by norms of equality, treating all people equally or norms to remedy inequality, whether that’s trying to remedy racial discrimination or gender discrimination…Freedom is often used almost as a national entitlement, as a claim for what people have…It’s been taking a lot of people by surprise to see people in Canada, who often seem so much more accepting of social interdependence, to start pushing back against it with the language of individual freedom.

Yes, Elisabeth freedom is a national entitlement, equity is a myth. For you see,

Free people are not equal and equal people are not free.

And so ends this lesson on political mythology 2022 being taught to children who attend Georgetown Day School.

Public College Hosts Cop Killer [‘Political Prisoner’] with Promoting Excellence in Diversity Grant

In a scandalous example of leftwing dominance in higher education, a public university in New York will hold an event next month featuring a convicted cop killer promoted by the taxpayer-funded institution as a “political prisoner.” The April 6 event at State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport is titled “History of Black Resistance, U.S. Political Prisoners & Genocide: A Conversation with Jalil Muntaqim” and the school’s announcement conveniently omits Muntaqim’s crimes, though it mentions he “was an avid educator” in prison. Formerly known as Anthony Bottom, Muntaqim was convicted for the murder of two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers in 1971. At the time he was a member of the radical Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army.

Muntaqim and two of his Black Liberation Army comrades ambushed and killed the officers, Waverly Jones, who was black, and Joseph Piagentini in Harlem. The officers were on foot patrol in a public housing complex. As they returned to their police vehicle, the three suspects attacked them from behind and shot them. Jones was killed instantly after getting shot in the back of the head. Piagentini was shot multiple times and died on the way to the hospital. One of the cop murderers died in prison, the other was granted parole in 2018 and Muntaqim was paroled in 2020, after being denied parole 11 times and serving nearly five decades. Piagentini’s widow was rightfully outraged that her husband’s murderer was freed, saying this in a local news report: “My husband, they shot him, there were 22 bullet holes in my husband, and Bottom [Muntaqim] just kept on shooting,” she said. “My husband looked at him, turned and said ‘I have a wife, I have children,’ but he continued to shoot.”

The media has downplayed Muntaqim’s crimes, instead celebrating him as an author, activist, and local civil rights organizer who is featured in a documentary released just weeks ago. In a review of the film, titled “Conversations: The Black Radical Tradition,” one media outlet describes the film as “first-hand accounts of Black resistance in America in the 20th and 21st centuries from more than a dozen activists, scholars, politicians, writers, and others involved in resistance and community-building movements.” In the article Muntaqim says “there has been an unbroken history of resistance against white supremacy, institutional racism, and capitalist exploitation of our communities, but the engagement in activism has at times gone dormant. So it’s important for us to understand the history and resurrect that tradition of resistance.” Another newspaper article describes the cop killer fondly: “During his incarceration, Muntaqim became a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a mentor, a scholar, a several-times-over published author and a faith leader.”

SUNY Brockport was actually going to compensate the felon to appear at the upcoming event, but public outrage forced university officials to revoke the payment. They have however, refused calls to cancel Muntaqim’s appearance, which is being billed by the school as an “intellectual conversation” about his time with the Black Panthers and as a political prisoner. In a letter published by a local news outlet in the aftermath of the public outrage, SUNY Brockport President Heidi Macpherson explains that Muntaqim was invited by a faculty member who was approved for a “Promoting Excellence in Diversity” grant. “We do not support the violence exhibited in Mr. Muntaqim’s previous crimes, and his presence on campus does not imply endorsement of his views or past actions,” Macpherson, writes, adding that his appearance will provide an opportunity to learn about his perspective and what may have contributed to his past experiences. Macpherson assures individuals will have the opportunity to ask difficult questions such as “why he chooses to identify as a former political prisoner.”

At least one New York state legislator blasted the university, issuing a statement saying that it is incredibly inappropriate and downright wrong to give Muntaqim a platform at a taxpayer-funded institution. “What type of message would we be sending to young college students to call someone who played a role in the assassination of two members of law enforcement a “political prisoner?” What message does it send to criminal justice majors on campus? What message does it send to our law enforcement?” Academic freedom and diversity are important, the lawmaker, Assemblyman Josh Jensen writes, but “granting this opportunity to a convicted cop killer is wholly misguided.” In its promotional material, the university portrays Muntaqim as a civil rights hero, stating that he was a teen activist for the NAACP and Black Panther Party at age 18. The school further describes him as a “grandfather, father, mentor to many, and loving human being.”

It Takes a Village of Bureaucrats to Implement Despotism

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is committed to a vaccine solution for COVID-19. Bureaucrats at the CDC believe you can’t be trusted to see “critical” data on COVID hospitalizations or the effectiveness of the COVID vaccine boosters; you might “misinterpret” the findings and be less inclined to get vaccinated or boosted. The NewYork Times reports, “The performance of vaccines and boosters, particularly in younger adults, is among the most glaring omissions in data the C.D.C. has made public.” Perhaps the withheld CDC data mirrors recent Israeli data, which shows, for the second booster, vanishing efficacy.

When the new FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, says his top priority is to fight “distortions and half-truths,” he wasn’t referring to misinformation coming from government bureaucrats.

By withholding information, the CDC has been complicit in the firing of thousands of Americans from their jobs, many of them health professionals. You can hardly mandate something that doesn’t work as advertised and doesn’t prevent you from infecting others.

Dr. Pierre Kory explains how edicts from politicized bureaucrats have led to hospital protocols calling “for treating [COVID] with ineffective, expensive, and potentially unsafe drugs like Remdesivir.”

Ryan Cooper writes the “practice of shading the truth or telling straight-up falsehoods in service of some half-baked political end started from the first moments of the pandemic.”

University of California professor of medicine Dr. Vinay Prasad also decries the lies:

Throughout the pandemic, public-health officials have omitted uncomfortable truths, made misleading statements, and advanced demonstrably false assertions. In the information era, where what one says is easily accessible and anyone may read primary literature, these falsehoods will be increasingly recognized and severely damage the field’s credibility.

Prasad writes, “We must carefully remove the power we have granted public health, which has often been misused.”

Swinish Unconstitutional Behavior

In Vasily Grossman’s great Russian novel Life and Fate, two scientists are talking about their frustration navigating the highly politicized bureaucracy where a political error could result in being purged. Of the current bureaucrat in charge of their lab, one scientist says, “he’s not such a bad type.” Grossman, through another character, adds this teaching lesson: “By the way, do you know the difference between a good type and a bad type? A good type is someone who behaves swinishly in spite of himself!”

Generalizing the lesson, bureaucracies incentivize employees to betray the public trust. Employees may feel bad about what they do, but they do bad things, anyway.

Grossman was writing about Stalinist Russia, but his observations can be easily applied to the CDC or Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Federal regulatory agencies and the bureaucrats running them are trampling on your rights. Columbia University Law School professor Philip Hamburger is one of the leading authorities on constitutional law. According to Hamburger, writing in his short book, The Administrative Threat, “Administrative power is a preconstitutional mode of governance— the very sort of power that constitutions were most clearly expected to prevent.” American bureaucrats are not fundamentally different from their counterparts in totalitarian societies. They are both unbounded by constitutional constraints; the only difference is in degree.

Before the Supreme Court decisions on vaccine mandates, Hamburger left no doubt about where he stood: “Rather than merely evaluate the Biden administration’s misdeeds—serious as they are—the Court should reflect upon its own wayward doctrines. Its departures from the Constitution have authorized, even normalized, the government’s departures. For this, the Court is to blame.”

Hamburger is referring to the normalization of administrative power. In The Administrative Threat, he is clear: “The Constitution establishes only regular avenues of power, and thereby blocks irregular or extralegal power. To be precise it blocks extralegal lawmaking by placing legislature powers exclusively in Congress, and it prevents extralegal adjudication by placing judicial power exclusively in the courts.”

Administrative mandates and rules are unconstitutional. “Through administrative power,” Hamburger argues, there now exists a third but “unconstitutional” way by which the “the executive purports to create legal obligation.” Administrative lawmaking is not justified as “delegated power.” Congress has no power to subdelegate its responsibilities to bureaucratic administrators. In short, administrative power, Hamburger writes, is “the very sort of power that constitutions were expected to prevent.” He warns that power wielded through government bureaucracies “binds Americans and deprives them of their liberty.”

Many citizens yield to administrative power believing we need experts, such as Fauci, to guide us. Hamburger cautions, “A person with specialized expertise will tend to overestimate the importance of that area and underestimate the significance of others. As a result, although experts can be valuable for their specialized knowledge, they cannot be usually relied upon for decisions that take a balanced view of the consequences.”

Hamburger was writing before COVID. Clearly, of the administrative agencies and bureaucrats threatening our liberties today, Dr. Fauci has led the charge. Fauci is arguably one of the most powerful unelected officials in American history.

To stem the tide of rising administrative power, Hamburger recommends that we “should bar judicial deference to agencies on questions of law or fact, as this violates due process and other constitutional limitations. Further, he recommends, “Congress should remove immunity for administrators — beginning with those who have desk jobs and agencies with a track record of violating constitutional rights.”

As Hamburger explains in his book Is Administrative Law Unlawful?, “Administrative law evades not only the law but also its institutions, processes, and rights.”

The Amorality of Bureaucracies

Among the horrifying passages in Life and Fate are those where Grossman describes in detail what went into building the gas chambers in Nazi concentration camps. Hitler, Himmler, and Eichmann didn’t pluck these horrors from thin air. Gas chambers were not among products sold in the marketplace. Thousands of actions had to be coordinated by a bureaucracy and military willing to follow insane and criminal orders. Tens of thousands of highly educated individuals had to follow orders.

Grossman has the character Obersturmbannführer Liss visit the Voss engineering works:

The Voss works had been entrusted with an important part of the order and Liss was satisfied with their work. The directors had devoted considerable thought to the project and were keeping precisely to the specifications. The mechanical engineers had improved the construction of the conveyors, and the thermal technicians had developed a more economical system for heating the ovens.

Writing in his illuminating but understated style, Grossman brings home the point that many well-educated individuals had to engage in this depraved process:

Liss refused an invitation to observe the experiments being conducted in the laboratory. He did, however, look through pages of records signed by various physiologists, chemists and biochemists. He also met the young researchers responsible for the experiments: a physiologist and a biochemist (both women), a specialist in pathological anatomy, a chemist who specialized in organic compounds with a low boiling-point, and Professor Fischer himself, the toxicologist who was in charge of the group.

Still, much more was needed. Grossman explains:

A railway track had been laid down, leading directly off the main line to the construction site. The tour of inspection began with the depots alongside the railway line. First, under an awning, was the sorting depot. This was filled with component parts of a variety of machines, tubes and pipes of every diameter, unassembled conveyor belts, fans and ventilators, ball-mills for human bones, gas and electricity meters soon to be mounted on control panels, drums of cable, cement, tip-wagons, heaps of rails, and office furniture.

Grossman continues with construction details and descriptions of people operating the camps. One such person was Private Roze, whose “job was to watch through the inspection-window; when the process was completed, he gave the order for the gas chamber to be emptied. He was also expected to check that the dentists worked efficiently and honestly.” The dentists were extracting gold dental work from those murdered:

At the end of each day one of the dentists would hand Roze a small packet containing several gold crowns. Although this represented only an insignificant fraction of the precious metal taken every day to the camp authorities, Roze had twice handed over almost a kilo of gold to his wife. This was their bright future, their dream of a peaceful old age. As a young man, Roze had been weak and timid, unable to play an active part in life’s struggle. He had never doubted that the Party had set itself one aim only: the well-being of the small and weak. He had already experienced the benefits of Hitler’s policies; life had improved immeasurably for him and his family.

The Party looked out for “the small and weak,” Roze reasoned. If Roze’s conscience was pricked, he could think, I am not a criminal; I am merely serving the “common good.” Grossman writes, “People struggling for their particular good always attempt to dress it up as a universal good. They say: my good coincides with the universal good; my good is essential not only to me but to everyone; in achieving my good, I serve the universal good.”

Complying with orders of bureaucrats to commit unimaginable atrocities, people can rationalize away their criminality. Grossman writes, “The air is full of the groans and cries of the condemned. The sky has turned black; the sun has been extinguished by the smoke of the gas ovens. And even these crimes, crimes never before seen in the Universe—even by Man on Earth—have been committed in the name of good.”

There are no gas chambers in America, and it is unlikely there will ever be. Yet, exercising extralegal power, an army of bureaucrats working for the CDC, FDA, OSHA have terrorized America, dividing Americans into the clean and unclean. As Laurie Williams writes, “An unelected government agency was allowed to classify us into ‘critical infrastructure’ and ‘nonessential,’ and confine many of us to our homes.” These bureaucrats, Williams adds, helped to teach us “to see each other as potential contagions, not potential collaborators.” These bureaucrats don’t have the terrible powers of bureaucrats in Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia, yet I shudder to think what would happen if they were so empowered.

As with Private Roze, life is good for some who cooperate with COVID bureaucrats. Some have a vested interest in perpetuating the pandemic. Musa al-Gharbi, a sociology fellow at Columbia University, recently observed why academics and bureaucrats don’t want to let go of COVID:

A constellation of scholars, bureaucrats and pundits seem invested in COVID remaining a “crisis” indefinitely. As the political scientist Oren Cass put it, many have been granted more money, prestige and institutional power than they have ever had in the wake of the pandemic. For them, a “return to normal” would mean a return to being largely ignored and exerting marginal influence over society. It would mean losing new revenue streams they have grown accustomed to, and so on. In light of this reality, it is perfectly natural that many experts, administrators and “talking heads” would be disinclined to return to “normal” – loss aversion is a powerful cognitive bias. However, recognizing these impulses as banal (rather than nefarious) does not render them unproblematic. They can skew policymaking and expert advice towards continued invasive policies and a continued sense of panic in ways that are excessive and pernicious.

Ending Our Silence

The will of the voting public will often do little to reverse policies of unbridled bureaucracies. In his seminal Democracy in America, written in 1840, Alexis de Tocqueville explained that in Europe the basis of power was “the upper echelons of society,” whereas power in America began with individuals acting in associations, local governments and then states. Today Tocqueville wouldn’t recognize an America where power resides so significantly in an unconstitutional federal bureaucracy.

Yet, Tocqueville saw that centralization might one day lead to “administrative despotism:”

After having thus taken each individual one by one into its powerful hands, and having molded him as it pleases, the sovereign power extends its arms over the entire society; it covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated, minute, and uniform rules, which the most original minds and the most vigorous souls cannot break through to go beyond the crowd; it does not break wills, but it softens them, bends them and directs them; it rarely forces action, but it constantly opposes your acting; it does not destroy, it prevents birth; it does not tyrannize, it hinders, it represses, it enervates, it extinguishes, it stupefies, and finally it reduces each nation to being nothing more than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

The despotism of which Tocqueville warned is dawning. Overcoming it may seem hopeless, but the power of bureaucratic despots depends on the power we give them. Perhaps thousands of scientists working for the CDC and NIAID know they are enabling the lies of their bureaucratic leaders. Among them may be those who remain silent and do their jobs, as did Grossman’s scientists, chemists, thermal technicians, and mechanical engineers. Some will find their courage. When we find our voice and say enough is enough, perhaps Congress will restrain bureaucracies according to the recommendations of Hamburger. Some states are already acting to rein in the power of their state health bureaucracies.

Of Stalin’s crimes, Grossman shows how silence was an enabler of lies and horrors: “We remained silent in 1937 when thousands of innocent people were executed. Or rather some of us—the best of us—remained silent. Others applauded noisily. And we remained silent during the horrors of general collectivization.” Is that what the battle for freedom has come to, that the “best of us” remain silent?

As we find our voices, the pendulum of power will shift back in a Tocquevillian direction. In America today, a decentralization movement is growing, advocating greater local control. Continued erosion of public trust in federal agencies and government experts will hasten that movement. 

While we wait for others to wake up, Grossman believes we can choose “everyday human kindness.” “Ordinary people bear love in their hearts,” he wrote. “are naturally full of love and pity for any living thing. At the end of the day’s work they prefer the warmth of the hearth to a bonfire in the public square.” Kindness, Grossman adds, “is what is most truly human in a human being. It is what sets man apart, the highest achievement of his soul. No, it says, life is not evil!”

Life is not evil, but bureaucracies often are cruel. America is regressing back to the early seventeenth century, Hamburger observes, in the manner of King James of England who governed via edicts from his Star Chamber. Of administrative power, Hamburger warns, “It is difficult to think of a more serious civil liberties problem for the twenty-first century.”

America’s Fight: Conservative School Board Member Blows the Lid off Inner Workings of the Left’s Monopoly on Education

The battle over the nation’s children – from flagrant indoctrination to forced masking – has emerged in the national spotlight during the last two years, becoming a widely-known issue as parents take matters into their own hands after years of the left maintaining a monopoly on the educational system, doing their best to keep the leftist agenda moving forward.

However, in the last year, the woke left’s agenda has been exposed, leading to massive conservative victories, as with Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) monumental victory in Virginia last November. Parents are fired up and taking power back, but this battle started years ago, as parents such as Bridget Ziegler waged a war against the radical left at the local level, even before it became a commonly known national issue. Ziegler shared her story in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

The Inner Workings

Ziegler, a mom of three and member of the Sarasota County School Board in Florida, has been at the helm of this fight since joining the board in 2014 – long before wokeness in school was a mainstream topic. At the time, she was the mother of an 8 month old and worked in the private sector, as she still does to this day. Her husband is heavily involved in politics, now serving as the vice chairman of the Florida GOP. But at the time, in 2014, a vacancy appeared on the school board, and he encouraged his wife to run, as she is “passionate” about children’s issues. She ultimately filed and former Gov. Rick Scott (R), now a Florida senator, appointed her at the time. She went on to win the election in a close race and stood out as a “staunch” supporter of school choice, which she said was more of a “taboo at the time.” But the union, she said, “just lost it.”

Ziegler said she began to see things that were “shocking” to her upon joining the board, as it operates very differently than the business world. She described going to the Florida School Board Association meeting, a chapter of the National School Board Association, and at the time the unions were suing the governor and legislature for taxpayer scholarships — something she advocated for. It was odd, she said, for them to utilize taxpayer dollars to send her to this conference where they were touting issues she was against. Seeing this, she and other conservative board members formed the Florida Coalition of School Board Members, which she described as a “small but mighty group” that passed a ton of legislation. While effective, she said the group did not grow exponentially, despite others showing their support, because there was “very much of an indoctrination to school board members, to policy makers.”

“When you get up there and are elected, you’re automatically part of this association and they tell you that your job is to support the superintendent. [It’s] not about protecting, supporting, representing taxpayers or focus on financial stewardship or … it as very much about no dissenting, very much groupthink, get in line,” she said, as this same tactic appears to be the common theme in school boards across the country. Many people, she continued, subscribe to it, even though they claim to be “conservatives.” But when they get on these boards, they “lose their backbone.”

“They’re typically in the minority and then they just wouldn’t fight for a lot of these issues,” she said, noting that many wanted to join the group but did not because they were nervous about losing their posts. Ziegler, however, a conservative firecracker in this realm, refused to go along with business as usual, paving the way for much of the mainstream exposure to the agenda items pushed by these radically left actors serving on school boards across the country as they dictate what children are exposed to in school.

The conservative group worked with the legislature and had 3-4 years of wins and ultimately dissolved, but reframed because they “knew something was there,” particularly with the battle over parental rights. Some participants branched off, such as Tina Descovich, who served as the group’s president, focusing on her group Moms for Liberty.

Ziegler, who said she never planned on going for a third term on the board, stuck around.

“I believe it’s so important and haven’t subscribed to the groupthink. I’ve been independent and been very consistent on my policies over the years. I think we do have a moment to really change the tide and all the things over the last six years that I’ve seen that are so incredibly broken, where people are not serving their community with the student’s best interest. It’s more about the system than it is the student,” she said, pointing to the “big educational industrial complex” and the millions that are “in this same game to protect the system.”

“And then you have the media that plays that role and protects the progressive left agenda that are being pushed in there, and also everyone wants to hide the — you know we can’t say anything negative about the school because then you’re anti-public school. It’s not about correcting issues,” she said.

“It’s about, your job as a school board member is to be a cheerleader, not to be someone that serves the public,” she added.

Hidden Agendas

These school boards across the country often sneak in left-wing agenda items without parents knowing. Ziegler provided an example, pointing to the battle over the Parental Bill of Rights in 2018 in Sarasota County, as it embraced “gender diverse guidelines” as left-wing groups lobbied districts to adapt such “guidelines” – a term that helped them circumvent the board completely, robbing parents of a true say. These guidelines, Ziegler said, essentially stated that it was up to a student to determine what gender identity he or she wanted to go with and forbid staff to contact parents on this issue. She fought against this on the board, which fueled her drive to work with the legislature to draft the Parental Bill of Rights, which took three legislative sessions to pass in 2020.

“But now it’s very well known,” she said, noting that parents were being “systematically cut out of their parents’ education on purpose.”

But in 2020, the indoctrination in the school system continued to become more mainstream nationally as leftists became more emboldened and “aggressive,” partially triggered by the George Floyd protests. As another example of the left sneaking in their hidden agendas, Ziegler described a BrainPOP video— a program used in K-5 “heavily across the country,” which covers a myriad of topics for students and touts which she described as lots of propaganda. One video focused on the George Floyd protests, she said, with undertones about systemic racism and defunding the police. The video, she said, essentially told children that they need to act as an avenue for change.

“[It’s] basically a training video for social justice warriors,” she said, noting that another parent made her aware of the video, so she brought it to the attention of the superintendent. Many were not even aware of this video, she stressed, so it was pulled, although that triggered worries about censorship. These sort of issues continued to become more mainstream as some teachers in the district expressed concerns about professional development – which was supposed to focus on reopening schools – instead centering on training for white privilege and cultural responses.

All of these micro-wins have continued to pile up, causing a groundswell of parents to see what is happening and take back control of their children’s education. Ziegler credited Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for publicly standing up for parental rights, further nationalizing the issue.

A Crumbling Monopoly

Over the past year, these issues have come to the forefront nationally, serving as a driving force in elections. Between the radical Black Lives Matter agenda and nonessential anti-science coronavirus rules, parents have a clearer picture of the left’s long-held monopoly on their children’s education. And now, leftists are not sure how to handle it.

“Nationally, you see how concerned the left has become because they have had a full on monopoly on public K-12 education — if not all education as we see — and they’re going to extraordinary levels because for the first time, I think they do see it’s at risk.,” she said, pointing to what we are seeing in areas such as Virginia, San Francisco, California. The left, she said, is “pulling out all the stops,” even stooping as low as deeming concerned parents domestic terrorists.

These school boards, she stressed, are innately tied with the Democrat Party, doing their best to coordinate their moves—a stark reminder that change truly does begin at the local level – a reality easily forgotten in a world of national headlines and personalities.

“The coordination that I’ve seen at the local level with the Democratic Party at the national level and state level with our local school boards to — for the mask mandates, to stick it to Gov. DeSantis because it was more about a DeSantis/Biden thing than it was about safety — and then you see now that there is a very strategic, coordinated effort with these foundations,” she said, using Sarasota County as a prime example and walking through the shift she has seen in the last 2-3 years.

Typically, the district would utilize pilot programs through nonprofits, but recently, she said there is a shift where districts — instead of utilizing money they have through funding – will earmark salary positions and fund them through these foundations, giving them a “straight back door into school districts to push programs.”

“And then the district ultimately is overleveraged and then they garner control without being elected,” she said. Leaders such as DeSantis pushing back against the woke agenda has “triggered a lot of these foundations who used to work behind the scenes to double down and go all in,” she said, noting that it is happening in other districts as well.

Media’s Role

The establishment media, in its efforts to protect the left’s agenda, has only exposed the radical left’s agenda more. One recent example is their coverage of the Parental Rights in Education bill, which critics and establishment media outlets falsely deemed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, despite the fact that the bill simply protects children from age-inappropriate classroom discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity, applying to children in kindergarten through third grade.

“Bringing that up has been– I knew it was right,” she said of the discussions over gender identity. The left, she said, is “artful” in their branding when they try to push their agendas, but the “reporting has gotten so ridiculous where they’re pushing the left’s narrative.”

“They’re not [just] reporting on the left’s narrative. They’re pushing the left’s narrative, just the same way like the textbook material and all that stuff is not just covering historical aspects,” she said. “They’re pushing a narrative. And so that is why I believe there’s so much concern because there’s way more awareness to it and they worked for decades to really play this ground game.”

“And they have, between Gov. DeSantis being completely fearless when it comes to punching back, whether it be the media or education bureaucrats or the work school board members or the union, he’s not backing down and thank goodness,” she continued.

The more DeSantis pushes back, she continued, the more people get “excited and applaud,” but the left “who’s been in complete control for so long” is “going to extreme measures and like you see, you see the media kind of becoming unhinged and being reckless with their reporting.”

A “Wild” Moment

“If wasn’t on the school board — I don’t fault parents. I wouldn’t necessarily know who my school members were,” she said, speaking about the national awakening.

“I mean, I might because my family’s a little bit more politically active than the average person, but I understand that that’s how — I understand that’s why when COVID happened, people started to see and showed up to school board meetings and were met with complete disdain of which I had a front row seat to for years. They were shocked.”

It was something to behold as school board members kept “doubling down,” Ziegler explained. She said it was almost as if the school board members and the left “didn’t know how to change their behavior because they’ve been doing it so long and normally people burn out, they go away.”

That was not happening this time.

In her experience, Ziegler said it takes more time to see a change, “but they [the left] can’t help themselves because they’re so drunk on the power and shameless.”

“Because historically, they’ve been able to run out the clock,” she said, identifying that tactic as a basic in the playbook of education.

That’s what is “wild about this moment,” she said, as these issues she has been fighting for are finally mainstream. “It’s just like — I use this phrase a lot, but I feel like I was screaming in a crowded room but no-one would hear me.”

The Continued Fight

It will be “interesting” to see how this continues to play out moving forward, particularly ahead of the midterm elections, Ziegler noted. The battle against Critical Race Theory (CRT), for example, was fresh in Virginia, serving as a catalyst for Youngkin’s victory. But in Florida, parents were not subjected to two years of closures, remote learning, and forced masking (outside of 11 counties). DeSantis listened to parents and waged a war against it all, long before the Democrat Party and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to loosen mandates because they were getting crushed in the polls. But in other places in the country, she said, parents are grappling with some of those issues. Ultimately, she said it “remains to be seen” how this plays out in the future, as parents likely will not forget what the left put them through.

“It’s almost Marie Antionette-style ‘Let them eat cake,’” she said. “They’re so disregarding.” And still, people are still showing up – those who never voted or paid attention — “and those people are mobilizing and activating people,” she added.

Some parents, she said, may not be as vocal, but when it comes down to decision time, “it’s hard to forget the complete disregard that they were met with when it came to policy decisions impacting their children.”

The left is “going to try very hard to make them forget … and try to flip the script,” she warned, noting there are “still a lot of people who are just fed up with government institutions in and of itself.”

“And I think you’ll see more conservative and even moderates all in to see — certainly for someone like Gov. DeSantis and school board members willing to serve parents and serve the people,” she said.

However, Ziegler warned that the left will pull out all the stops to create their narrative and brand their opponents in a very particular way, “just like they do with DeSantis.”

They use extreme labels and see what sticks, she said.

“That is their playbook. And they do it well. And they play nasty” to maintain their power, she added.

Local Beginnings, National Results

While this movement made national headlines, there is still work to be done at the local level, as that is what has triggered so much of this change in awareness. Ziegler, for instance, has been in the minority since she has been on the “nonpartisan” school board, with the majority of school board members serving as “progressive liberal” members – the “norm” across the state and country, Ziegler explained.

However, that could soon change. Of the five school board seats in the county, three are up, including Ziegler’s, as she is running again. But the other two are not running for reelection. In other words, if Ziegler wins reelection and they flip just one of the open seats, they will successfully flip the entire board.

“And that’s big deal because we have, from a party standpoint again, the Republicans are very, from a conservative standpoint, very focused on school board and in Sarasota have the chairman of the party and the vice chairman of the party in Sarasota County” she said.

“Gov. DeSantis is obviously been a big champion of parental rights and has highlighted some of the work I’ve done which put even more emphasis on that race,” she added.

American Deceit

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Will the Freedom America offered ever be offered again? Prayers go out to the citizens of Ukraine and the other eastern European nations.

I am borrowing a few words from Franklin Graham. Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida in January, 2015, when he said America will not come back.

He wrote:

“The American dream ended on November 6th, 2012 in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama has been the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest republic in the history of mankind.” The goal of feminists were to emasculate the males.

Memorize: Everything is connected; nothing is random; there are no coincidences; everything has a plan and all plans are based on lies.

Did you hear Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary for Political Affairs say that Russians spread propaganda. Then she blamed you for things they have done.  This is a globalist trick and the D’s have been doing it to the R’s for years often making the R’s cower.  It is a technique called Projection. If you project enough, the issue will be accepted as truth and your opponent will catch most of the blame.

The Globalists (Communists/Fascists/Democrats/RINOS/Islamists) are allowing Ukraine’s war to continue because DEPOPULATION is a GOAL of Sustainability. War helps depopulate.  Now you have to say, what else are they doing. Check out the $1.5 Trill earmark, gun restricting bill Globalist Democrats and RINOS passed in the middle of the night. America will be destroyed from within.

As RACE becomes the dividing factor, there is nothing for whites to be ashamed of in America. Americans did more to help humanity than any other people in history. Contrary to popular belief, civilization didn’t always have cell phones and computers. For the majority of our short time on earth manual labor was all there was.  It doesn’t matter what country, what region, or what cause, there is always a conqueror and always the conquered. The conquered regardless of color always lose all possessions and freedom. They became slaves.  They are often tortured and murdered. It is the way it was and will be.

History has become so distorted the sad part is that the blacks who built America along with the European whites – have had the American Black history replaced with victimhood and hatred. I asked my friend why blacks didn’t see any advancement in America from slavery until today.  His answer was, “Because our leaders know that racism sells and they make lots of money selling.”

Will we let a small coalition of blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the “forever needy,” the chronically-unemployed, illegal aliens, and miscellaneous fellow-travelers…End the Constitutional Republic of America? There are more of us than them. Why are we giving them the power? We must fight back. Stop being intimidated. All they have is empty words. Remember “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never ham me.” Don’t buy into their meaningless name calling.

I listen to the Democrat lies as they reveal themselves. They are so smug. But it appears as though Americans have had enough. Wait until everyone understands the new banking system under the Great Reset.  Due to the new scoring method risk scoring which used to be based on your ability to pay back, is now designed to keep you in line with the government message, America is racist. It’s your white fault, if you disagree you are a domestic terrorist.  We will have Social Credits for humans and ESG, (Environmental, Social [Justice], Governance) for business. Try to get a loan for your not-woke business. Try to get a mortgage if you are MAGA. This NWO crowd is tightening the noose. You will own nothing and be happy is their message.

Watch and listen to candidates. Check their actions. Are they CRT? Do they believe in Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (DIE)?  Did they spew MORE HATRED, aimed to make victims of every minority group imaginable…except for whites, of course. I can not imagine why any white person would vote for a candidate who LIES, calls them names, vote for bills they haven’t read, pushes the White Guilt Complex; and demands MORE MONEY to fix things. Of course they never discuss that their policies created the mess in the first place. I am embarrassed that I once was a Democrat.

To the lefties of America: You do NOT have a RIGHT to tangible objects or material things. GOD gave you the ability to succeed. No one but you is standing in the way of your success. It has nothing to do with the color of your skin. Success has to do with your ability. BUT it is not up to ME to pay for YOUR STUFF. That is YOUR job. How come I don’t hear anyone saying that?

In America, God grants our Rights. (Our Founders recognized this!) The Constitution protects those Rights. If you think life will be better somewhere else, please leave!  Rights are not different for different people under the Constitution. Time to elect new people and go after the criminals.

“We The People.” does not say WE the White people, Black people, Christian people or Jewish people! There are NO divisions in America’s Constitution. The only division comes from those who wish to destroy American headed by America hating globalists like Obama and a regime of globalists, seeking to force on us – their New World Order. Obama TOLD US: “We will fundamentally transform American.” In order to transform, you must first DESTROY. Michelle said: ‘we’ll change History.” And so they have. The JoeBama regime is just a continuation of the Obama regime set out to DESTROY America.

That destruction is well under way. Obama was not the initiator. All our Presidents starting with Bush 41 were Globalists. As far back as Eisenhower, the dream was a world organization headed by the global elite with a merging of Russian/American culture.

All the programs are the same they just have new names. Money Power Control is all Globalists care about. These people are the enemy of freedom. It is important that you know, understand and can name the enemy. Don’t view Democrats, RINOS as Americans, they are not. Globalists want to rule the world under a New World Order headed by the United Nations. Don’t try to make sense of anything they do or say. They are only trying to confuse you. Look to see what they are doing like passing bills late at night to take away our rights.  Globalists think they are elite.  They want to destroy the middle class and America. They hate Americans. They hate the US Constitution. Leveling the playing field means bring America in line with other third world countries.  They will not be happy until they own everything and you work for them.

This 2022 election is the last for our republic and if we lose, we will never again out-vote these people. The Globalists have arranged for 300000 illegals to invade America monthly.  Why have the states not closed their borders? Do those governors really think this is a good idea? It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the Rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take zealots, not shy moderates, not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs  to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.

The Biden regime of globalists are dedicated to the collapse of America. Their policies are designed to inflict the most damage to the greatest amount of people. Less people, less problems. They are bleeding America by 1000 cuts. An uneducated society driven by emotion and hatred can not successfully run a country. Open borders,  funding our enemies by buying their oil and other commodities, high inflation, printing more money, out of control spending, CRT, Drugs, trafficking, treaties that call for the merging of America, Canada and Mexico is the plan. Wake up America; they hate us.  They tell us all the time. But we don’t listen and we continue to fund them. Their main goal is MONEY, POWER, CONTROL! Not America. When we buy their stuff, we are doing exactly what Biden is doing buying Globalist oil from communist dictators.   Facebook, Twitter, etc all of their social media sites insure that your gas prices will continue to go up. They own you. You are now the slave; working with big tech, answering questions, providing data for nothing. By sending our kids to public school, buying their stuff,  and using their platforms we are feeding the beast. The only thing they think about is money. Stop giving it to them.

Being an American comes with a JOB. The Founders intended it that way! Being an AMERICAN comes with RESPONSIBILITY. If taught properly in school, students would know the way their government works, understand the Rule of Law, and realize the law does not change for different GROUPS of people. All GROUPS have the same rights under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This is the framework that our Founders put in place. That is why in America, we have EQUAL JUSTICE under the Law.

Social Justice was created by the communists, in order to rally the groups around victimhood while collecting donations. Social Justice creates justice for a specific group, a protected group status. THINK: Would it not follow that if YOU are not part of that SPECIFIC group, you do NOT HAVE PROTECTION under the LAW? Breaking up into groups is necessary to divide the people. Divided people are easier to CONTROL.

When today’s illegal immigrants come HERE, they are not required to learn our language, or assimilate into our culture! They are used by the left to create a sub culture voting block. They are separated from the existing population and culture. Coming from countries giving minimal free stuff, they can not believe the amount of free stuff they now get from America. They will vote for the group giving the most free stuff. By continuing multi-culturalism, dare I say it? DIVERSITY! – We continue to promote the GROUP or HERD mentality insuring the demise of America’s individualism.

Americans have the power to stop the destruction. Will they, is the question. We must vote in all elections but the primary is key to eliminating RINOS. Don’t let the RINOS split the vote in primaries. If you have one incumbent and many newbees, get behind the top newbie and have the others drop out.  The primary is about winning, not about egos. Do not vote for a D or a RINO. Those criminals just passed a $1.5 Trillion spending bill that no one read. Inflation is being done on purpose.  Pay close attention to local elections. Be prepared. Get protection and food and don’t tell anyone. Today buy anything you think you will need for the next year. We are in for rough times.

Arizona Senate Passes Education Transparency Bill

The Arizona Senate passed a bill this week that would increase academic transparency.

In a 16-13 vote along party lines with Republicans favoring the bill and Democrats opposing, SB 1211 passed.

It’s a bill that establishes a right for parents to know what’s being taught in public schools. The bill would require schools to post the specific learning materials used at each institution on its website.

Sen. Paul Boyer, R-Glendale, spoke in favor of the bill on the Senate floor, saying it wouldn’t take much for the schools to make happen.

“I do see a huge benefit of this. Teachers regularly submit lesson plans. They do, every week. All this bill calls for is to post that on a Google Doc or a Word doc for any parent that wants to see it, to see it. It’s also another benefit for teachers.”

He said it helps schools see what their teachers are doing right and what they’re doing wrong. He also said it could improve the quality of education.

“If, say, hypothetically, I’m in a ‘D’ or ‘F’ school, it would be nice to know…what are the ‘A’ schools doing?” he said. “Maybe, just maybe, I could figure out what the ‘A’ schools are doing and I could do that in my classroom.”

Additionally, Sen. Nancy Barto, R-Phoenix, the bill’s sponsor, said that she thinks parents should know what their kids are learning in school.

“The heart of this bill is getting to all of the materials being available to parents because they need access,” she said. “They need to know what is being presented to their children.”

Meanwhile, Democrats and teachers’ unions opposed the bill.

Sen. Christine Marsh, D-Phoenix, said that while she is not against curriculum transparency, but thinks the proposal would burden public educators.

“Many of those students’ teachers won’t be spending as much time with them as they could otherwise because they’re going to be busy loading thousands of points of data online every week or two,” she said.

The bill now heads to the Arizona House of Representatives, which has a 31-29 Republican majority.

Trans Tyranny in Public Schools

Schools across the country have adopted a controversial policy of hiding the LGBT statuses of students from their parents. Sold to the public as an effort to protect children from abuse, the policy effectively circumvents parental consent and notification about their children’s health, safety, and well-being.

One Texas family told Chronicles how they fought to protect their children from transgender ideology. After finding out that staff of a public school had encouraged their daughter to transition to a male gender, they withdrew their children from the school. But that wasn’t the end of the story. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) came knocking at their door, demanding to conduct a safety assessment of their family environment.

In telling us his family’s story, the father, who we’ll call John, asked Chronicles to protect their identities, for fear of retaliation. He gave Chronicles copies of all the documents he received and sent to DFPS during the agency’s investigation.

What John and his family experienced is the result of a countrywide effort to push through schools radical ideas about sex and gender to influence children at their most vulnerable developmental stages. Even more sinister, their story shows how the enforcement arm of the government is being used to punish and harass those who resist. A war for the hearts, minds, and bodies of America’s children, which can often result in devastating and irreversible consequences—is being waged in every state, red or blue, and there is no opting out of the conflict.

John is a native Texan. He and his family live—or so they thought—outside Austin’s progressive sphere of influence. Over the last two years, John and his wife noticed their daughter, whom we’ll call Jane, acting strange. Jane cut her long, light brown hair to a much shorter, militaristic style during her freshman year of high school and adopted a more masculine style of dress. She withdrew from family life altogether, and her parents began practically begging her to interact with them as she used to do. Jane asked to start seeing a therapist, but wouldn’t explain why. Worried about her state of mind, they agreed to arrange mental health therapy sessions.

The truth about what was bothering Jane came out “in bits and pieces,” John said, but they never could have anticipated what was behind it all. The moment of revelation came when the family met with the high school guidance counselor last autumn. It was a routine appointment to review a catalog of classes and plan for their daughter’s future. John and his wife noticed that Jane had an uncanny rapport with the counselor. John said the counselor and Jane were finishing each other’s sentences and seemed privy to a whole world impenetrable to the parents. He appeared to have the kind of intimate relationship with Jane that John and his wife had lost and were struggling to reestablish.

After the meeting, John asked Jane about what was going on, and she revealed the truth. The guidance counselor and other staff at the school had encouraged their daughter to adopt a new identity as a boy, and to hide that from her parents. She had lived a secret life as a boy for her freshman and sophomore years, and the school staff had conspired to keep her parents in the dark.

The family decided the best thing to do was to prepare to withdraw their children from the school district. John and his wife did as much research as they could on homeschooling, even joining the Texas Home School Coalition. Then, one Friday last October, the kids spent their final full day in the district. John and his wife filed the proper forms with the schools, stating that Jane and her brother were beginning home schooling the following Monday.

When Monday came, John received a call from DFPS. Someone had filed a report “concerning the safety of the child(ren) in your family,” according to a later DFPS letter. A social worker showed up at their house the next day to perform a child welfare check that left the family confused and disturbed. Later that week, DFPS notified John that someone else had filed a second report alleging abuse.

It was easy enough to refute the allegations. DFPS personnel even told the family that the reports appeared retaliatory. Someone was trying in bad faith to get John’s kids taken away. Moreover, the charges were so specific that it made the family suspicious of how anyone could know so much about them.

John sat down with Jane and laid out the stakes. He said that the people who had filed these reports “were willing to tear you and your brother away from your family and probably separate you from each other, simply because your parents aren’t going along with this.” Her eyes widened, and the weight of what was happening dawned on her. John relayed what the reports alleged: that Jane had been kept in isolation, denied medical care, and locked inside the house with a security system. “But, we have our own codes to the security system,” she said, just as confused as her father. Then it clicked.

Jane remembered a counselor asking her leading questions, including whether she had been denied medical care. Jane mentioned that at a routine health check-up her parents had declined a doctor’s suggestion to put her on anti-depressants, saying they had enrolled her in mental health therapy instead. The counselor also asked about her living situation, including, oddly, about her house’s security system.

John and his daughter realized together that the leading conversation she had with the guidance counselor seemed to inform the allegations of child abuse, and that he had made an erroneous assumption that the security system was some kind of device to keep Jane locked up. They suspect a teacher at the school may have been involved as well, and may have filed one of the abuse reports. At any rate, it became clear that the school’s staff had exploited Jane’s trust and used it to attack her parents.

Unfortunately, this kind of subversion has become common in public schools everywhere. State by state, examples abound of teachers and administrators actively pushing LGBT ideology on children behind their parents’ backs, causing chaos and division within families.

Jeffrey and January Littlejohn, of Leon County, Florida, in October filed a lawsuit against their school district after discovering that the staff of their middle school had secretly met with their 13-year-old daughter to develop a transgender “support plan.” The Littlejohns’ lawsuit alleges that the district was involved in “training district staff to conceal from parents information regarding their children’s assertion of a discordant gender identity, including, inter alia, assumption of a new name, use of different pronouns, use of opposite sex privacy facilities and use of opposite sex lodging on off campus trips.”

The journalist and author Abigail Shrier reported in November on her Substack newsletter that Buena Vista Middle School teachers Lori Caldeira and Kelly Baraki “stalked”—a term used by Caldeira—students’ online activity to identify candidates for an LGBT club. Parents responding to Shrier’s story characterized the teachers’ efforts as “grooming.”

The Spreckels Union School District—of which Buena Vista Middle School is a part—now faces a lawsuit alleging teachers manipulated a woman’s daughter into changing her gender identity and kept it hidden under its “Parental Secrecy Policy.”

And, in November, a Wisconsin family and the Alliance Defending Freedom, a legal firm that tries cases on religious freedom and parental rights, sued the Kettle Moraine School District because of its policy allowing students to change their names and gender pronouns without parental consent. The lawsuit alleges that staff at the school’s mental health center didn’t help their 12-year-old daughter with depression and questions about her gender, but “quickly ‘affirmed’ that she was really a transgender boy and encouraged her to transition to a male identity.”

The proliferation of LGBT ideology in schools is connected to the expansion of “social-emotional learning” (SEL) curriculum. In a nutshell, parents and parents’ rights activists describe SEL as a Trojan horse for introducing children to “critical race theory and gay and transgender advocacy,” as the Washington Examiner put it. It also cuts out parents from caring for children’s mental health, shifting that responsibility onto those versed in SEL. In other words, teachers assume the role of parents.

For all their talk about family values, Republican politicians are reluctant to act. Three of them—Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and State Rep. Dade Phelan—took a combined $2.47 million in campaign funds from political action committees affiliated with pediatric gender-modification clinics, according to an analysis of Transparency USA campaign finance records by Katy Christian Magazine. The three later helped kill bills that would have prohibited the gender modification that goes on at such clinics.

John, the father from Texas, and his family were cleared by the DFPS of child abuse allegations in October. John said the agency’s caseworker told him that there have been more and more retaliatory actions against parents who don’t go along quietly with the highjacking of their children’s gender identities. Although the Texas DFPS keeps the names of those reporting child abuse confidential and protects them from civil or criminal liability, it is, nevertheless, a felony to falsely report child abuse or neglect under the Texas Family Code. Yet overzealous or disingenuous reporting is more common than people think. As the Houston Chronicle reported in 2018, a Texas judge ordered the state to pay a family $127,000 after caseworkers wrongly accused them of child abuse.

The formal process of uncovering who filed a report against John’s family takes months. In the meantime, they are left waiting and wondering. John believes the point of the reports was to threaten the loss of his children for interfering with the educational establishment’s vision of progress. He said he’s distraught at the thought that even if his family come out of this okay, other families may not. Some parents may lose their kids or be cowed into going along with gender transitions, hormone therapies and surgeries.

John said he is encouraged, however, by Jane slowly emerging from her shell. “My wife, my daughter, and I now all go to a family counselor because we want her to know she can open up to us,” he said. Above all, they want her to see that she was a victim of a dangerous ideology, one that nearly tore her family apart.

Are Education Bureaucrats Putin’s Greatest Ally?

The Biden Administration is about to roll out new science education standards that introduce the concept of climate change at a much younger grade level and expand on the subject throughout middle and high school. The new standards, which have already been adopted by over half of the states (but not Texas), include plans for fifth graders to develop “an understanding that the earth is warming” [but not, perhaps, that this warming period began over a century ago].

The new mandate to “teach” climate change as dogma must be music to the ears of the American Federation of Teachers (and, yes, the National Education Association, which goes about its indoctrination business with a bit less fanfare).

Back in 2017, the AFT culminated phase 1 of its “climate change” campaign by passing a resolution urging all its affiliates to divest from all investments in fossil fuel companies. The call followed a 2012 AFT resolution to “educate” the public about climate change and lobby elected officials to discourage the use of fossil fuels.

In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, teacher unions have used their clout first to force total shutdowns of public schools, outrageous mask mandates, and all manner of social engineering that lies far outside the traditional “reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic” palette for America’s schools. Dissenters were ostracized, banned, or even arrested for trying to attend mandatory classes, and in some cases separated from their parents by court orders.

Imagine what they will do to “climate obstructionists” if given the chance.

But we should not be surprised that the teacher unions have become an instrument of coercion, including “climate change” conformity, in the new America. It is, after all, part of the grand strategy of Karl Marx to destabilize free societies by declaring that “the quest for profit [from natural resources] is immoral and will ultimately destroy the planet unless ground to a halt.”

Marx was an environmentalist pioneer, first by demanding that government control all land use so that no individual could exploit the land for personal gain. Not even farmers. And, as The Epoch Times reports, Marxism pairs the conflict between productive forces and the relations of production with the conflict between the environment of production (the ecosystem) and the productive forces (capitalism). [John Dewey, championed by unions as the founder of modern American education, has been called “Stalin’s propagandist.”]

Perhaps people are awakening, thanks to the excesses of the lockdown movement stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet the COVID censorship, and the censorship by social media, news media, and cancel culture that has been so objectionable in regard to questioning the vaccines and mandates is little different from the censorship imposed by the so-called “scientific” community over dissent from the climate agenda.

Except that the COVID censors have opened new territory for climate censorship. As if de-platforming, cutting off research funds, firing from tenured university positions, and picketing of homes were not enough. The power elites now (thanks to Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau) have the option to cut off access to banking and credit. It seems clear enough that the totalitarians are afraid of “inconvenient truths” that depart from their orthodoxy and thus weaken their grip.

The American Left has long championed environmentalism as a tool for overthrowing capitalist societies. The fear factor worked so well to thwart “the peaceful uses of nuclear energy” (as touted by President Eisenhower) and bring heavy hatred of nuclear power plants that is rampant despite new generations of very safe modular reactors. So why not, they thought, use the same tactics against fossil fuels – by claiming they are “killing the planet” (rather than bringing billions out of poverty).

For decades, the American political establishment quietly acceded to increasing portions of the “green/red” agenda, giving the Environmental Protection Agency unchecked power to thwart development and punish landowners; using the Endangered Species Act to close off federal, state, and even private lands from “exploitation”; and at the same time empowering unfriendly nations to exploit their own resources at will (the Kyoto Protocols and Paris climate agreements are prime examples).

Ignored when first uncovered, Russia’s heavy role in supporting anti-fracking, pro-green efforts by Western nonprofits have resurfaced in the wake of rising gasoline prices and the Biden Administration’s dogmatic position against Americans’ production and use of fossil fuels. Biden is quite willing to purchase state-controlled oil and gas from Marxist nations (and even from the terror state of Iran). Just not from Texas, Pennsylvania, or Canada.

2018 report from the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology revealed a coordinated effort by Russia and its allies to funnel millions of dollars through the Sea Change Foundation to the Sierra Club, the Conservation Voters League, and others to suppress the widespread adoption of fracking in Europe and the U.S. One tactic was flooding social media with anti-fracking and anti-fossil fuel messaging. By limiting U.S. and European production (without any reductions in demand), the Russians sought – and won – increased market share for their own fossil fuels.

Curiously, Hillary Clinton complained during her 2016 campaign that “phony environmental groups” were funded by Russia to rail against fracking, pipelines, and even oil and gas leasing, then claimed falsely that President Trump was in Putin’s pocket even as he championed the fracking that the Russians had hoped to squelch. Then she supported a Biden Administration that would carry out the entirety of the Russian campaign to downsize the U.S. energy industry.

As the evidence mounts that the Biden shutdown of U.S. energy has both emboldened and enriched Putin’s Russia, Americans need to look at the institutions that have helped the Russian cause and clean house. Directly challenging the teacher unions and their anti-fossil fuels stance is a good place to start.

Distorting Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill

If some parent wants their children exposed to Drag Queen Story Hour or the like, it’s a free country. But why should those who don’t agree with that view have their children exposed to something they believe is wrong? They should not. And this bill favors parental rights over the “progressive” bullies.

The bill’s opening words are: “Parental Rights in Education.” It goes on to say that it aims to “reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children.”

The law “prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels.” What are those levels? Kindergarten through third grade. In other words, children generally nine years old and younger.

In fact, Gov. Ron DeSantis proclaimed, “The media can’t defend injecting sexual topics like transgenderism into classrooms for kindergarteners, so they concoct false narratives to try to divert attention from this fact in the hopes that people will not read the bill.”

The biggest of those false narratives is the left’s characterization—and the media’s parroting—of it as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Most who receive their news from the mainstream media have no idea that the bill (which does not mention the word “gay” or “homosexuality” anywhere in it) merely keeps sexualized topics out of the classrooms of kindergartners through third graders—where few sane people believe those topics belong in the first place.

Controversy surrounding this bill raises many questions. The most important of them is: Who is responsible for the children’s well-being, the parents or the state?

The Bible says that the parents are, and that God has made us male and female.

Biology says we are male and female. One or the other. For example, the National Institute for Health notes,

“The biological differences between the sexes have long been recognized at the biochemical and cellular levels. Rapid advances in molecular biology have revealed the genetic and molecular bases of a number of sex-based differences in health and human disease.”

In August 2020, I interviewed Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, who noted that one silver lining from the pandemic was that parents got to see, many for the first time, what their children were actually being taught in their children’s schools.

He told me,

“When you take a look at the sex ed curriculum, there is an effort to indoctrinate children, not only in sexual activity, but within the whole LGBTQ agenda in terms of creating sexual confusion among our children.”

I once interviewed Walt Heyer, a former transsexual. He had sex-reassignment surgery in 1983 because he believed he was a woman trapped in a man’s body. For the first eight years as a “woman,” he felt relieved. But then his depression came back and was even worse. When Jesus healed him, he embraced his original identity.

Heyer now runs the organization Sex Change Regret. He notes that over 40% of those who have had “gender reassignment surgery” have attempted suicide.

He added that gender dysphoria is a form of depression. And while puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgeries may provide temporary relief, they don’t address the root issue:

“When you don’t like who you are at the core of who you are, you’re depressed about who you are.”

Why should parents, who are responsible for their children’s education and well-being, have to pick up the pieces as our society recklessly destroys these little children and their futures?

If it becomes law, I believe Florida’s legislation will prove to be a step in the right direction for a culture mired in moral relativism.

No Sex Ed for Under-8s in Florida Schools — and the Wokerati are Outraged?

Florida kindergarteners to grade threes won’t be taught sex ed at school, after both of the state’s houses approved a “Parental Rights in Education” bill in recent weeks. Awaiting a signature from Governor Ron DeSantis, the new law will come into effect on July 1.

And get this: the wokerati are outraged.

Those inexplicably opposed to the law have run a successful campaign to label it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. On cue, President Joe Biden tweeted: “I want every member of the LGBTQI+ community — especially the kids who will be impacted by this hateful bill — to know that you are loved and accepted just as you are.”

Like clapping seals, America’s national media has run with the false label and the claim that the bill is anti-LGBT. Yet the controversial clause of the new law is as brief as it is unremarkable:

“‘Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade three or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

The bill doesn’t prevent young children from discussing sexuality or gender identity with their parents, or with each other, or even with their teacher for that matter. What’s in view is instruction —  namely, classroom curriculum.

Importantly, the law establishes transparency, so that parents remain aware of what is being taught in their child’s classroom, and the nature of conversations their child is having with school staff.

Likewise, the bill doesn’t mention homosexuality, transgenderism or in any way ban the use of the word “gay”. In other words, it does not privilege one type of sexuality over another, as the “Don’t Say Gay” campaign implies. It simply places the burden for teaching young children about sex and gender back where it belongs: under the purview of parents.

And while the controversial clause addresses grades beyond K-3, it actually allows classroom instruction on sexuality and gender identity in higher grades — only at an age-appropriate level.

But oh, the tears woke celebrities cried!

“Disgusting,” said Ariana Grande.

“Ugly,” scoffed Hillary Clinton scoffed.

“Horrible,” cried Billy Jean King.

“Partisan,” claimed Lord of the Rings’ Sean Astin.

“Bigoted,” Sex in the City’s Cynthia Nixon tweeted.

And then there was Luke Skywalker, aka Mark Hamill, with this apparently courageous attempt to put prose to the unutterable:

Then there was the response from Disney — yes, that wonderful, child-friendly entertainment empire — whose woke employees are staging a walkout this week after the company’s CEO failed to condemn the bill quickly enough for their liking.

It is not unusual for celebrities to ride bandwagons, even for slightly unusual causes. But outrage over K-3 kids not receiving sex ed instruction?

A generous reading of the situation is that most pop-commentators have not read or understood what HB1557 is about. The sad reality is that some — perhaps many — comprehend the bill perfectly well, and still wish for the state to step between children and their parents to introduce rainbow sexuality concepts when kids would otherwise be learning the alphabet, phonics and basic maths.

For good reason many commentators have labelled it an anti-grooming bill. (If you are in doubt about this label, spend an hour or so browsing woke teacher videos on Libs of TikTok’s YouTube channel).

Why should young children be exposed to concepts no generation their age has previously been burdened with? And why would teachers feel the need to hide any of this from parents?

Children deserve to be protected from increasing sexualisation. Here in Australia, we should be passing anti-grooming bills too, like Mark Latham’s Parental Rights Bill that has languished for too long on the shelf in New South Wales.

It’s time we let kids be kids again, and if we must, endure the woke outrage to protect them.

Arizona Senate Passes Goldwater-Backed Academic Transparency Reform

Arizona lawmakers and the Goldwater Institute scored a major victory today [March 14, 2022] for parents, students, and the public K-12 education system with the passage of the nation’s most robust academic transparency legislation through the Arizona Senate. Sponsored by state Sen. Nancy Barto, SB 1211 establishes parents’ right to know what is being taught in public schools by requiring those schools to post on a publicly accessible portion of their website a listing of the specific learning materials used at each institution.

Under the legislation, which is also being considered in similar forms in more than twenty other states, prospective parents will no longer have to guess and gamble about whether a nearby school is informally slipping into the classroom content such as the New York Times 1619 Project, or assigning books that teach students racially divisive and politically activist lessons. Instead, this new academic transparency legislation empowers families to make informed decisions about their kids’ education.

The academic transparency approach, pioneered by the Goldwater Institute, offers a direct policy solution for the 84 percent of voters who—according to polling—believe that parents should be able to see the curriculum plans and materials for their children’s classes. Crucially, it also ensures that for the first time, parents have the ability to identify and distinguish between schools pushing radical politics versus those affirming core academic principles before they’re forced to choose where to send their children.

As Senator Barto declared of SB 1211 in Senate proceedings Wednesday, “the heart of this bill is getting to all of the materials being available to parents, because they need access. They need to know what is being presented to their children.”

Teachers unions and other opponents of the bill have claimed that it would harm Arizona’s public education system, that it would inhibit adaptability, and that it failed to include input from educators themselves—all notions quickly dispelled by Senator Vince Leach, who also spoke (and voted) in favor of the legislation.

As he noted, for instance: “I have…one of the most aggressive, fastest growing, and innovative school districts in the state…in the top five, if not right at the top…This is Vail School District: they were heavily involved in final amendments of this. They are as innovative as you can get. They don’t put lesson plans together until after the day when they see how their groups of students are doing, and what they need to teach the next day.”

Yet as he pointed out, thanks to the collaboration that went into the bill, SB 1211 brought even “the blessing of Vail School District behind this bill. They’re not losing teachers. They don’t see a [flight] of students into charter schools, homeschools [or] private schools. Why? Because they are a top school…They want the parents to see everything.”

Senator Paul Boyer similarly spoke in support of the bill: “I do see a huge benefit of this. Teachers regularly submit lesson plans. They do, every week. All this bill calls for is to post that on a Google Doc or a Word doc for any parent that wants to see it, to see it. It’s also another benefit for teachers.” Citing his own experience as an educator building a class syllabus for the first time, he said that “if this were in place, I could have seen what’s being done” by other teachers. As he observed further: “If say hypothetically I’m in a ‘D’ or ‘F’ school, it would be nice to know…what are the ‘A’ schools doing? Maybe, just maybe, I could figure out what the ‘A’ schools are doing and I could do that in my classroom.”

Having secured approval from the full Senate, SB 1211 now heads to the Arizona House, where members of that chamber will similarly have the chance to show their support for parents, students, and Arizona’s K-12 system by bringing transparency to our classrooms.

The Beacons Are Lit: “Unraveling Gender”

Brad Miner reviews a new book about views of human sexuality (especially transgenderism) that undermine the natural-law basis of Catholic moral theology.


John S. Grabowski is a professor of moral theology and ethics at Catholic University of America, and the epigram to the first chapter of his new book, Unraveling Gender: The Battle over Sexual Difference comes from Tolkien’s The Return of the King – Gandalf’s rallying cry (in part) to the people of Gondor to defend their way of life: “See! The beacons of Gondor are alight, calling for aid. War is kindled.”

But Unraveling Gender is not a manifesto for conflict. In fact, it’s a compassionate appeal for Christian charity and clarity. “Our battle is against the powers of evil – sin and the devil – in ourselves, and in the world around us (see Eph 6:10–17). Other human beings are not the real enemy in this battle.” Perhaps. But it seems clear that those of us who reject the idea of gender fluidity are the enemy to those who endorse it – just ask them.

Grabowski takes pains to show the long (since St. Paul VI’s papacy) Catholic history of compassion in matters of sexuality. But he also sees the new gender ideology as aligned with what St. John Paul II so memorably called “the culture of death.”

Underlining this whole business is a simple question: Is sex (or gender) binary? The simple answer is yes, although there is such a thing as intersex, a very rare genetic anomaly (and like “gender” a word that’s been hijacked by contemporary enthusiasts). Grabowski refers to this as the Babel Effect: “Gender ideology rejects both the realist’s belief in a reality where things have common natures or essences and in the ability of language to correspond with that reality.”

And the genesis is obvious. As Grabowski writes: “The presupposition of this Marxist feminist program is clear – sexual difference itself is unjust and must be overcome as much as possible.” So true is this, that those advocating the LGBT agenda have no qualms about killing their unborn children and throwing biological women under the bus whenever a man pretending to be a woman steps forward to compete against them in sports.

And it’s always male athletes unable to compete successfully against other men who do this. Had Bruce Jenner decided to become Caitlyn in 1976, the year he won Gold at the Montreal Olympics, people would have thought him nuts, and U.S.A. Track and the IOC would never have allowed him to compete as a woman. Of course, he wouldn’t have, because he was the best man in the men’s field. (By the way, Jenner thinks mate-to-female transgender athletes should not be permitted to compete against biological women.)

Speaking about the divine plan for sexuality, Professor Grabowski makes the marvelous point that Scripture is “bookended” by marriage: by Genesis 2 (“This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”), humanity begun; and by Revelation 21 (“And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband”), humanity fulfilled. Unraveling Gender is a Biblically based and very Catholic book.

Faith and reason are key to figuring out how to deal with what amounts to the heresy of the Left’s sexual ideology. The “synthesis” that they cravenly seek always invokes “science”:

relatively new questions posed by more recent scientific research that have been intensified by the cultural upheaval that we are just beginning to grapple with and think through – the causes of sexual attraction, the phenomenon of persons whose expression of sexual difference is ambiguous on some level (i.e., intersex persons or those with disorders of sexual development), and the best ways to respond to persons who experience the pain of gender dysphoria.

Putting aside a man’s insistence that he’s a woman (for which genetic reality offers irrefutable evidence of the absurdity of such a claim), I look at the transgender movement as a sideshow in the garish, earsplitting, and mind-blowing carnival that is American culture.

I’m too old to care. Except, that is, when it comes to sports – to men arrogating women’s competitions. Professor Grabowski writes that “second-wave” and later feminist theorizing are to blame: “Having sown the existentialist and postmodern wind, modern feminism now faces a transgender whirlwind to which it helped to give birth.”

It is obvious that, in this case, women seeking to affirm male-to-female transgender “women” hurt biological women. They wound them deeply. Worse, they can’t now bring themselves back from the edge of the self-destructive, post-modern abyss they helped to spawn.

Self-determination is alluring. But, from the Garden onwards, it’s the root of sin.

I’m informed that Grabowski’s publisher, the estimable TAN Books, has decided not to bother listing the book at mega-retailer Amazon – this to avoid the travails of cancel culture that we witnessed when the smug and self-congratulatory “earth’s biggest store” refused to sell Ryan Anderson’s When Harry Became Sally, a book Professor Grabowski cites often.

The Amazonians, in concert with other leftist organizations, sincerely believe that a better world will only arise through the suppression of ideas that do not conform to the neo-Marxist rainbow they’re chasing. It’s almost inevitable, I fear, that Amazon will soon purge from its inventory any faithful Catholic book not written by a contributor to the National Catholic ReporterCommonweal, or America magazine.

Prof. Grabowski ends where he began – back in Middle Earth, quoting Galadriel, the elven queen, (and this was Tolkien’s own view) that the culture war we’re fighting against gender ideology is “an engagement in. . .‘the long defeat.’” He explains:

Human beings and even the Church herself cannot by themselves overcome the powers of evil arrayed against them. But they do not have to because victory is assured – and not just at a future eschatological finale to history. This victory has been accomplished in Christ’s life, death, and Resurrection.

So be it – as long as we keep fighting, here and now.

Democrats are Grooming Our Children to become Transsexuals One Day at a Time

We have written about how since the U.S. Supreme Court allowed gays to marry that Democrats have been the champions of so called “gay rights.”

But what about parent’s rights, children’s rights and human rights? What about science? What about the harm done to our children who are groomed to go gay?

The Democrat objective is to hold onto the trans-voter by pushing policies, programs and medical procedures that create more trans-voters.

Democrats and the Biden administration are working hard while they have the power to “groom” our children to be gay, non-binary, transsexual, lesbian, gay and members of the LGBTQ+ movement.

The Democrats are in full mode to turn our children and grandchildren into transsexuals. They are doing this using four key strategies: 1. Normalizing sodomy, 2. Promoting The LGBTQ+ agenda and homosexuality in our public schools via classes, gay porn in public school libraries and gay clubs, 3. Pushing gender change surgeries upon children as young as 12-years old and 4. making our children gender confused by unscientifically repeating the myth that there are more than two genders (XX-male and XY female).

Helping Biden and Democrats are media and social media (e.g. Facebook has over 60 gender pronouns), corporations (e.g. Apple adding a pregnant man and pregnant person emojis), the Walt Disney Corporation pushing the grooming of children to become transsexuals, public schools who allow homosexual cross dressers to read books to elementary school children, The DOD holding mandatory classes on “gender identity”, and Biden’s appointment of multiple non-binary (a.k.a. gender-queer) people to his cabinet and administration.

Examples of Democrats Going Full Trans

In this video clip Beto O’Rourke proposes a plan to take “trans” children away from their parents.

In the video below posted on on March 4, 2022 a Albemarle County principle and teachers discuss their elementary school “transgender advocacy program.”

In this edited clip of the full presentation, Mountain View Principal, Cyndi Wells, presides over a rambling seminar clearly intended to provide methods of elementary school student indoctrination in contemporary transgender culture, language, and comportment. Myriad concepts and techniques were presented with the underlying premise of “honoring” students’ gender “experiences” while pawkily flouting parental rights and involvement. [Emphasis added]

Public schools have pushed the idea that transsexuals are in danger and need to be protected from bullying when in fact it is these same public schools who are bullying children to become transsexuals.

In a March 12th, 2022 article in The Post Millennial titled “Sydney Watson exposes Texas gender identity clinic for performing breast removal on 12-year-olds” reported:

Sydney Watson exposed a gender identity clinic in Texas that, until very, very recently, was performing double mastectomies on the healthy breasts of 12-year-olds, for the purpose of pediatric gender transition. This is the same clinic where Blaire White claimed to have been treated.

“Gonna go ahead and confirm that this is the clinic I was treated at,” White said in reply to Watson’s video on Twitter. “I’m sickened that I ever gave them my money.” White is a prominent YouTuber who underwent gender transition, but has been honest and forthright about that not changing the underlying biological sex.

I asked my friend @ArielleScarcell to call a clinic here in Texas that I’d been told performs breast removals (“top surgery”) on children.

The clinic told Arielle that the surgeons operated on children 12 AND OVER. This is NUTS.

The Bottom Line

Parents are taking their children out of public schools in an effort to protect them from this transsexual grooming agenda.

Kerry McDonald in a March 4th, 2022 article titled “New Data Show the Exodus From Public Schools Is Continuing” reports:

Since 2020, more families have been fleeing local district schools for other options. Homeschooling rates doubled in that year alone and remain high today. Home-based “pandemic pods” have evolved into established microschools and co-op arrangements that have worked better for many families than a conventional classroom. Catholic schools, like other private schools, were more likely to remain open while district schools were closed and have experienced their first enrollment hike in two decades. More students are now learning in virtual schools and charter schools than they were pre-pandemic.

Parents are recognizing that they have many more options for their children’s education and are continuing to abandon government-assigned district schools.

While it was understandable that parents might seek different learning settings for their children amidst 2020 school closures, new data suggests the exodus from district schools isn’t letting up.

The educational realignment from institutions to home- and community-based models that accelerated in 2020 isn’t slowing down. Now that parents and teachers have glimpsed educational possibilities beyond a traditional classroom, they are less willing to put up with the schooling status quo.

Parents need to and are taking back control of what and who teaches their children.

We do not want the United States of America fundamentally transformed into the the Dysfunctional Transsexual States of America.

Parents are now considered “domestic terrorists” for pushing back against school boards and public schools if that’s so then count me in too!
