Meet the Team of Israel-Haters Joe Biden Has Assembled

My latest in PJ Media:

Oh yeah, this is sure to work: Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday, according to the Jewish Press, that he was “sending an envoy to the Middle East to ‘seek to calm tensions’ even as he urged Israel to avoid killing civilians.” Israel does more than any other military force has ever done to avoid killing civilians, so that was not a good sign. Even worse was that the soothing envoy is Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hady Amr, an indefatigable supporter of the genocidal Palestinian Arab jihad against Israel.

Back in 2002, Amr declared: “I was inspired by the Palestinian intifada.” He said that Palestinians would “never, never forget what the Israeli people, the Israeli military, and Israeli democracy have done to Palestinian children. And there will be thousands who will seek to avenge these brutal murders of innocents.” He did not, of course, say a word about Hamas’ long-established practice of launching jihad attacks from civilian areas, so that retaliatory fire could be used for propaganda purposes. Of course, that was a long time ago, but Amr went on to a long career in the Obama administration and elsewhere, and never showed any sign that he had moderated his positions.

Anyone who is surprised that Biden’s handlers would send a jihad supporter to talk with the Israelis and Palestinians hasn’t been paying attention. Just days after Joe Biden was inaugurated, pro-Erdogan Turkish journalist Hakkı Öcal, according to Ahval News, “highlighted a report on the strong presence of Jews in the cabinet of U.S. President Joe Biden.” The report claimed that there was an “over 50 percent Jewish presence in the new U.S. cabinet,” and pointed Secretary of State Antony Blinken and CIA Deputy Director David Cohen, among others. But Öcal was off base: among Biden’s handlers, Jewish and non-Jewish, there are few, if any, staunch friends of Israel. After just a few months in office, it was clear that Joe Biden’s handlers’ administration was shaping up to be the most anti-Israel presidency since the founding of the modern State of Israel. That is clear from the appointments Biden’s handlers have made. A sampling:

Robert Malley, special envoy to Iran, has become notorious over the years for his support for Iran’s Islamic regime and pronounced distaste for Israel. The Washington Times revealed in February 2021 that back in July 2019, “Iran’s smooth, English-speaking foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, met with Robert Malley, who was President Obama’s Middle East adviser, in an apparent bid to undermine the Trump team and lay the groundwork for post-Trump relations.”

Malley was a good choice for such an assignment. An Israeli security official noted in February 2008 that Malley “has expressed sympathy to Hamas and Hizbullah and offered accounts of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that don’t jibe with the facts.” Obama dropped Malley in May 2008 after it came to light that he had met with representatives of Hamas, but six months later sent him as an envoy to Egypt and Syria.

Erdogan asks pope to ‘mobilize the Christian world’ to support the jihad against Israel

Centuries ago, popes spearheaded the resistance to the advancing jihad. But Erdogan knows what he is dealing with in Pope Francis, and it isn’t exactly the spirit of the Crusades. Whatever else he may be, Pope Francis is the perfect pope for a Europe that has discarded and no longer appreciates its own culture and heritage.

Erdogan urges Pope to help end Gaza conflict, impose sanctions on Israel

AFP, May 17, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged Pope Francis to help rally the world to adopt sanctions against Israel for its “massacre” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The phone call between Erdogan and the pontiff came as Turkey presses ahead with a furious diplomatic push to help end bloodshed that has claimed the lives of 197 Palestinians and 10 people in Israel since May 10.

For all the latest headlines follow our Google News channel online or via the app.

Erdogan told Pope Francis that “Palestinians will continue to be subjected to a massacre unless the international community punishes Israel… with sanctions”, the Turkish presidency said.

The pope’s messages were of “great importance to mobilize the Christian world and the international community”, the Turkish statement added.

The pope on Sunday said the loss of innocent lives in the violence was “terrible and unacceptable”, warning that the conflict risked “degenerating into a spiral of death and destruction”.

Erdogan, who has vocally championed the Palestinian cause during his 18-year rule, has spoken out repeatedly against Israel’s actions, accusing it of waging “terrorism” last week.

He told the pope on Monday that “all of humanity should be united against” Israel.

“The savagery caused by Israel threatens regional security,” he added….

FLORIDA: Muslim arrested for shooting at random cars in busy gas station parking lot

We will probably soon hear that Ahmad Jihad Bojeh is mentally ill, but it is also true that the Islamic State and al-Qaeda have repeatedly called upon Muslims in the U.S. to do violence to random people.

“Deputies arrest man accused of shooting at cars at Wawa gas station,” FOX 35 News, May 15, 2021:

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man deputies say was caught on video shooting at cars in a busy Wawa gas station parking lot.

Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, 24, has been arrested for attempted first-degree murder.

Deputies say they responded to the Wawa at 4397 W. Vine Street in Kissimmee on Thursday night.

“The suspect was captured on video shooting at the victim and at random vehicles in the parking lot,” deputies said….

President Biden and Public Scandal

Fr. Gerald E. Murray on Biden and abortion: He needs to be told that his objectively sinful behavior constitutes a culpable offense for which he needs to seek pardon after repenting.

Should President Joseph Biden be admitted to Holy Communion when he attends Mass? The simple answer is, “No,” owing to his public and unwavering support for legalized abortion. Canon 915 of the Code of Canon Law states: “Those. . .obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.” Abortion, the killing of innocent unborn children, is a grave sin, as is the legalization and promotion of this heinous practice. It’s a criminal violation of an unborn person’s right to life.

In the 2002 Doctrinal Note on some questions regarding the Participation of Catholics in Political Life, Cardinal Ratzinger, then Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), stated: “John Paul II, continuing the constant teaching of the Church, has reiterated many times that those who are directly involved in lawmaking bodies have a ‘grave and clear obligation to oppose’ any law that attacks human life. For them, as for every Catholic, it is impossible to promote such laws or to vote for them.” (Emphasis added)

In the 2004 Worthiness to Receive Holy Communion: General Principles Ratzinger specifically instructed the U.S. bishops that a Catholic politician engages in formal cooperation with the sin of abortion when he consistently campaigns and votes for permissive abortion laws. President Biden obviously promotes the abortion license and has directed that taxpayers’ dollars pay for abortions. He’s an unapologetic and determined promoter of this immoral attack on human life. This is an indisputable fact. Just ask his supporters at Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Ratzinger told the U.S. bishops that, dealing with such a politician, “his Pastor should meet with him, instructing him about the Church’s teaching, informing him that he is not to present himself for Holy Communion until he brings to an end the objective situation of sin, and warning him that he will otherwise be denied the Eucharist.” He also cited a 2002 Declaration from the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts: “When ‘these precautionary measures have not had their effect or in which they were not possible,’ and the person in question, with obstinate persistence, still presents himself to receive the Holy Eucharist, ‘the minster of Holy Communion must refuse to distribute it.’” (Emphasis added)

The Declaration explains: “The decision, properly speaking, is not a sanction or a penalty. Nor is the minister of Holy Communion passing judgment on the person’s subjective guilt, but rather is reacting to the person’s public unworthiness to receive Holy Communion due to an objective situation of sin.”

An objective situation of sin is scandalous in this case because such a Catholic politician who consistently promotes abortion by that very conduct actively encourages others to fall into the same sin. In Biden’s case, his well-known campaign promises to keep abortion legal and federally funded is clear evidence of his rejection of Catholic moral teaching. He plainly intended to convince other Catholics to join him in gravely sinful behavior. Such conduct renders him publicly unworthy to receive Holy Communion.

The facts, and the applicability of canon 915 to those facts, are indisputable.

For this reason, the recent Letter of the CDF Prefect, Cardinal Ladaria, to the American bishops is disappointing, even confounding. Remarkably, he never mentions canon 915. He calls for dialogue among the bishops “so that they could agree as a Conference that support of pro-choice legislation is not compatible with Catholic teaching.” But the matter is already beyond question. Any bishop who does not agree “that support of pro-choice legislation is not compatible with Catholic teaching” should change his mind or his job.

Ladaria then calls for dialogue with Catholic politicians “who adopt a pro-choice position. . .as a means of understanding their positions and their comprehension of Catholic teaching.” Really? After almost 50 years of legalized abortion, the “pro-choice” position needs no further study. Let alone “dialogue.” It is hard to imagine that President Biden and other Catholic advocates of legalized abortion are unaware of what the Church teaches about the sanctity of human life. They just don’t follow it.

Ladaria calls for further dialogue among the bishops, with other episcopal conferences, and further consultation with his office. How long would this process take? It’s a needless delay in tackling a major scandal.

The Church has a duty to teach God’s law and to sanction members who egregiously and continuously exempt themselves from obedience to that law – and encourage others to do the same. Depriving them of Holy Communion, we may hope, will jar them into reforming their conduct and their opposition to God’s binding law for all mankind.

Public defiance of God’s prohibition of unjust killing is an attack upon the faith and unity of the Church. The Church has a responsibility before God to lead the flock away from diabolical disobedience and into grace-filled obedience.

A Catholic who falls into immoral behavior, knowing that the Church has condemned it, should be presumed by his pastor to be imperiling his soul and the souls of those he is influencing. He needs to be told that his objectively sinful behavior constitutes a culpable offense for which he needs to seek pardon after repenting.

The American bishops should act as a group, and individually in their dioceses, to end the scandal of the continued administration of Our Lord’s Most Holy Body and Blood to the highest public official in our land. To fail to do so amounts to a refusal to uphold the Church’s canon law, to the grave harms of souls. It would be a negligent passivity, a failure to defend the sanctity of the Christ’s greatest gift to his Church.

And it would communicate to all the message that God may be mocked without consequence when an important Catholic public figure decides to support, not God’s law, but rather the gruesome linchpin of the sexual revolution, unfettered legal abortion.

Florida’s Capital of Anti-Semitism

As Jews across the globe begin to celebrate the Feast of Weeks, when the Torah was Divinely given on Mount Sinai, and we watch aggrieved that our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land are attacked with missile explosions, filled with shrapnel to pierce young and old, I reflect as well on the anti-Semitism abounding in South Florida. In Florida’s capital of anti-Semitism, Manatee County, adjacent to Sarasota, not a single official has condemned decades of Jew-hatred. Not a single official has intervened in the years and years of vandalism on/near Jewish Holy Days that have left this yard ransacked and littered immediately next door to our Heritage Village West Condominium clubhouse, office, library, outdoor recreational center, and pool, where the criminal acts can be viewed directly anytime of the day or night.

Taking our case, fully-documented, to court reaps even more classic anti-Semitic accusations, because, like Israeli Jews, this Jewish family is condemned for defending itself. In classic anti-Semitic fashion, we are labeled as abusive, vindictive, frivolous, bizarre, and a long list of other pejorative terms.

For 13 years, the condemnations of this Jewish family have persisted unchecked to the point that our recent court hearing by Zoom, controlled by the court, blackened our faces entirely and precluded all presentations of our exhibits on the screen to the judge, opposing counsels, and the public, whose faces were not blackened. In Manatee County, the Jews are told by officials that swastikas on the entrance to a beautiful complex are not anti-Semitic crimes because they can be cleaned off.

Is there anyone in Florida’s capital of anti-Semitism unwilling to keep the code of silence that impugns this entire county and state?

Racist Graffiti Found in Manatee County Community Shows Swastikas, Racial Slurs

By

PUBLISHED 9:46 AM ET Nov. 05, 2019

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Residents in the Del Tierra neighborhood in Bradenton woke up Monday to swastikas and racial slurs drawn on structures.

  • Racial slurs and swastikas on community’s front gate
  • Residents believe teenagers used mulch to draw on the walls
  • Neighbors helped clean up the vandalism

Some of the words were so offensive Spectrum Bay News 9 couldn’t show them on television.

Residents believe the person used mulch to draw hate symbols on the walls. They also have an idea of who they think may be responsible.

“Everyone’s mad. It’s a very…we’re under the impression it was probably teenagers,” Del Tierra resident Robin Nickel said. “I know it couldn’t possibly be an adult in my heart. I just can’t imagine that.”

The community does have security cameras, but neighbors said they weren’t working at the time. They plan to have them repaired to catch anyone on camera who plans to try something like this in the neighborhood again.

The neighbors stepped up to get the graffiti cleaned up.

According to our partners at the Bradenton Herald, the Sheriff’s Office doesn’t consider this vandalism because no damage was caused and the graffiti was cleaned up within five minutes of the discovery.

The members of the community want to clear up any misconceptions about the people who live here and what they will tolerate.

“It’s not indicative of our neighborhood. We are a very multicultural neighborhood. The thing that was really important to me was that the community acted immediately and cleaned it up themselves,” Nickel said.

A community determined to come together with images they say are meant to tear people apart.

Muslim Mob Screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ Attacks Jewish Man in Midtown Manhattan

WARNING: Graphic video of Jew Attacked by Mob in Midtown New York City

My latest in PJ Media:

Given the ferocity of the far-left’s hatred of Israel and its increasing propensity for violence, this was perhaps inevitable: earlier this week in midtown Manhattan, right outside the New York Public Library, a Muslim mob screaming “Allahu akbar” violently assaulted a Jewish man, leaving him bleeding from a head wound. Posting video of the incident on Twitter, Times of Israel contributor Joshua Washington labeled it: “Attempted lynching of a Jewish man in New York.” Yet nothing is more certain in our morally confused age that the attackers went away thinking they were on the side of righteousness.

[Graphic video]

Another video of the incident that was posted on Rumble shows the mob that attacked the man screaming “Allahu akbar,” “F**k you, Zionist pig,” and “Palestine’s too strong for you.” Independent journalist Elad Eliahu reported that “According to one protester, a passer-by made really hateful comments towards free Palestine protesters which allegedly lead to one throwing a chair at this man as he was mobbed by others. He was eventually led into a store by an officer after being chased.” This is Bill de Blasio’s New York, and so it was no surprise that, as Eliahu noted, “According to sources the NYPD’s riot squad caught the protester who allegedly threw the chair, proceeded to not arrest and let him go.”

Of course they did. The left is on the side of the Palestinians, and so Palestinian protesters assaulting a Jew are going to have a hard time getting arrested in the far-left one-party oligarchy that New York City has become. We should just be grateful that de Blasio doesn’t give the chair-wielding thug the key to the city. After all, he and his comrades believe that the Palestinians are acting on a righteous cause.

The protesters who mobbed this Jewish man obviously believe that as well: their screams of “Allahu akbar” make that clear. “Allahu akbar” does not mean “God is great,” as the establishment media frequently claims, but “Allah is greater,” that is, the god of Islam is superior to the god of the infidels, or to any other infidel entity. It is a declaration of the victory and superiority of Islam, which is why jihad terrorists so often shout it. Its usage by the mob in New York City also underscores the fact that Palestinian activists tend to see the conflict in Islamic terms.

Biden adviser ‘has echoed Iranian regime talking points and has made excuses for Iran’s oppressive government’

A traitor class is in power in Washington. Unless, of course, you think making excuses for a regime that frequently chants “Death to America” is the highest form of patriotism.

Lawmakers Demand State Dept. Revoke Security Clearance for Appointee Tied to Iranian Regime

by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, May 10, 2021:

Several lawmakers are demanding the State Department revoke the security clearance of and launch an investigation into a Biden administration appointee who they say has troubling ties to Iran’s hardline, anti-American government.

Reps. Jeff Van Drew (R., N.J.), Scott Perry (R., Pa.), and Yvette Herrell (R., N.M.) say the Biden administration made a serious mistake when it hired Ariane Tabatabai as a senior adviser to the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, a high-level position that requires security clearance. Tabatabai’s hiring first sparked controversy in March, when a group of Iranian dissidents outed her as an Iranian regime sympathizer whose family has close ties to the ruling theocratic regime, as the Washington Free Beacon first reported in March.

The lawmakers, in a letter sent late last month to the White House, demand Tabatabai’s security clearance be revoked until a proper investigation is launched into her “allegiance to the Iranian regime,” which the lawmakers say poses “a security threat to the United States,” according to a copy of that communication. They also request the Biden administration provide them with a classified briefing on the security screening process that permitted Tabatabai to obtain a government clearance. As the United States engages in negotiations with Iran aimed at inking a revamped nuclear deal, Tabatabai’s purported ties to the regime and high-level State Department posting are generating serious concerns, the lawmakers say.

“We respectfully ask for a classified briefing on Ariane Tabatabai’s connection to the Iranian Regime, as well as an additional background check to closely examine her ties to it,” they write in the April 23 letter.

Tabatabai’s critics—including the lawmakers and Iranian dissident groups who oppose the hardline government—outlined multiple public appearances in which she parroted Iranian regime propaganda and downplayed the import of democratic protests that threaten to topple Iran’s clerical leadership. They see the administration’s decision to hire Tabatabai as a sign the State Department intends to appease Iran and offer it significant concessions as part of any revamped nuclear deal.

Tabatabai, the lawmakers write, “has echoed Iranian regime talking points and has made excuses for Iran’s oppressive government. She has downplayed the significance of dissatisfaction that Iranians have with their government, stating that protesting is a ‘feature in the Islamic Republic’ and is an ‘inherent part of Iranian public life.’” Additionally, in December 2020, Tabatabai “claimed that Iran has ‘affirmed its place as a significant regional force.’”

In addition to her writings, Tabatabai’s father, Dr. Javad Tabatabai, is a senior faculty member at the state-controlled University of Tehran and is allegedly part of Iranian president Hassan Rouhani’s inner circle, according to information published by Iranian dissident groups.

State Department spokesman Ned Price expressed outrage over the letter when asked for comment by the Free Beacon. While the State Department generally does not comment on correspondence from Congress, Price disregarded that practice to dispute what he described as “smears and slander.”…

How Do You Leave God Out of Prayer?

First, the good news. President Joe Biden recognized the National Day of Prayer last week.

Now, the bad news. Although he marked the day with a written proclamation, as all presidents have done for decades, the reportedly “devout” Catholic left God out of his pronouncement.

How do you do that if you’re sincerely emphasizing the value of prayer?

Lifenews.com (5/6/21) summed up the president’s invocation: “Joe Biden Mentions Racial Justice, Climate Change in ‘National Day of Prayer’ Message. But Not God.”

Said President Biden at last week’s National Day of Prayer ceremony: “As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time — from a deadly pandemic, to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of climate change — Americans of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide hope and uplift us for the work ahead….Throughout our history, Americans of many religions and belief systems have turned to prayer for strength, hope, and guidance.”

In our highly secular age, it’s almost not surprising to see God or Jesus left out of a supposedly prayer-centered statement. In a dissenting opinion to a church-state case in 1984, Lynch v. Donnelly, the Supreme Court referred to the phenomenon of “ceremonial deism.” This implies references to God that “have lost through rote repetition any significant religious content.”

But it wasn’t always like this in America. One man noted that despite the difficulties we as Americans faced in our divided nation, we must fervently thank the Almighty for all His blessings to us.

He wrote, “The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come….They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.”

Those words were written by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln on October 3, 1863 in his Thanksgiving Proclamation. Despite the devastation of the Civil War, he could still find cause to thank God and ask for His help.

Another American prayed that the nation would come to imitate the Savior, that is, Jesus, so that we might become a happy nation.

He wrote, “I now make it my earnest prayer, that God…would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do Justice, to love mercy and to demean ourselves, with that Charity, humility & pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion & without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation.”

That was George Washington. The father of our country wrote this in a famous letter called “the Circular to the States.” He wrote it in June 1783, after—by God’s Providence—we had successfully won our independence from Great Britain a year and a half earlier at Yorktown.

Another man in American leadership asked that the Lord would guide our nation and help us work through our myriad problems.

As he officially proclaimed a day of prayer, he penned, “On that day I ask all who believe to join with me in giving thanks to Almighty God for the blessings He has bestowed on this land and the protection He affords us as a people. Let us as a Nation join together before God, fully aware of the trials that lie ahead and the need, yes, the necessity, for divine guidance. With unshakeable faith in God and the liberty which is heritage, we as a free Nation will surely survive and prosper.” This was Ronald Reagan, 40th president on March 19, 1981.

He proclaimed May 7, 1981 as the National Day of Prayer that year—he also made it an annual event on the first Thursday of each May. Reagan often noted that as a nation we absolutely need God’s help.

Another example of a national day of prayer involving actual prayer—to God—involves a group of American leaders, desperately calling out for His help. They set aside a day of what they called, “Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer.”

They urged fellow citizens to “confess and bewail our manifold sins and transgressions, and by a sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease his [God’s] righteous displeasure, and through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, obtain his pardon and forgiveness.”

This was the Continental Congress—the very group of men who helped create this nation in the first place. They set aside May 17, 1776 as a day for intense prayer. And God answered their prayers.

Our history is rich with examples like this—sincere calling on the Lord. But Biden’s comments on prayer remind me of “ceremonial deism.” Alas, one could just as well invoke, “To Whom It May Concern.”

While Twitter Banned Trump, Iranian Leader Celebrates Jihad Terror Against Israel on Twitter

President Trump’s tweets are horrifyingly dangerous. They’re so dangerous that even quotes from him have to be deleted.

Meanwhile, Ismail Haniyyeh, the leader of Hamas, is free to celebrate terrorism against Israel on Twitter. [Haniyeh’s tweet was finally taken down.]

As is Supreme Leader Khameini of Iran, who tweeted,

“Palestinians are awake and determined. They must continue this path. One can only talk with the language of power with these criminals. They must increase their strength, stand strong, confront the enemy, and force them to stop their crimes.”

No coordinated Big Tech takedowns. No speech cartels cutting off their media oxygen. No worried conferences about disinformation.

New York Times uses errant Hamas rocket to claim Israel has ‘no concern for civilian life’

In reporting on the new “Palestinian” jihad violence, the establishment media has been behaving the way it always does: demonizing Israel and retailing “Palestinian” jihad propaganda as fact.

“The New York Times turns an errant Hamas rocket into three paragraphs of anti-Israel propaganda,” Elder of Ziyon, May 11, 2021:

Yesterday, a missile hit the house of the Masri family in Beit Hanoun, Gaza, killing at least seven including three children.

Israeli TV reported that the IDF confirmed that the missile was an errant Hamas rocket that fell short in Gaza.

USA Today reported:

In Gaza, health officials reported a total of 20 deaths, including nine children.

It did not provide a breakdown, but at least seven members of a family, including three children, were killed in a blast in the norther town of Beit Hanoun. It was not immediately clear if the blast was caused by an airstrike or errant rocket.

Ashraf al-Masri, a member of the family, said there was an explosion outside the house.

“We don’t know where it came from,” he said. “We are trying to get the children for burial but the situation is difficult in Beit Hanoun and we are afraid to leave our houses.”

(The article has been updated and no longer has this section.)

Ashraf has no idea if his family was killed by Israel or Hamas. He just wants to bury them.

But something happened between that interview and when he spoke to the New York Times later. Now he is convinced it was an Israeli missile, and Israel is solely responsible for all suffering:

But as the conflict expanded and the airstrikes began, it quickly became deadly.

In Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, the Masri family was grieving for two young boys who were killed on Monday evening. Ibrahim, 11, and Marwan, 7, had been playing outside their home when a missile struck, according to their uncle, Bashir al-Masri, 25.

For Mr. Masri, the attack showed that Israel had no concern for civilian life.

“They target buildings with children, they target ambulances, they target schools,” he said by telephone. “And all the world, beginning with America, says that people in Gaza are terrorists. But we are not terrorists. We just want to live in peace.”

He also called on Israel to end a blockade on Gaza that has placed heavy restrictions on goods and materials, lest they be used to make weaponry. The blockade, coupled with similar restrictions by Egypt, has crippled Gaza’s economy and led to high unemployment.

“God knows how we live in Gaza — and the number one reason is the Israeli siege,” said Mr. Masri, who is one of the roughly 50 percent of Gazans without work. “They want to kill us. But they cannot.”

Suddenly, Ashraf turned from a grieving relative with no idea how his family was killed into a Hamas spokesperson repeating anti-Israel talking points word for word .

It appears that after the USA Today story where the source of the rocket was unclear, someone from Hamas got hold of Mr. Masri and told him that he is not to give the impression that anyone but Israel can be at fault….

If the New York Times was truly interested in reporting the truth, they would have mentioned the IDF denial of shooting that rocket, and that many Gaza rockets have killed Gaza kids over the years, and that Mr. Masri had no idea where the missile came from, or that he acted very differently a few hours earlier. Instead they gave him a platform to propagandize on behalf of those who killed his family.

BOOK REVIEW: Miner’s “The Compleat Gentleman”

Taynia-Renee LaFramboise reviews a new edition of the book by TCT’s senior editor. A book for men it is, but men and women rise and fall together.

We are verbose creatures. Humanity’s gift of language includes our gift of creating languages. But despite a surfeit of vocabulary, our terms often fail to adequately describe what we mean. Definitions slip. Meanings change. But not the underlying reality, to which we were trying to point. We keep circling round it with new words, few of them ever really hitting the mark.

Take the word “gentleman.” My family has a long and complicated history with that term. It was wielded with both frequency and specificity. And yet, it has often left me baffled and uneasy. For I am, despite an uncommon upbringing, a thoroughly modern woman.

And it’s as a woman that I wish to share some reflections on the third edition of Brad Miner’s The Compleat Gentleman: The Modern Man’s Guide to Chivalry.

When I hear the term “gentleman” many competing images come to mind, some of which are flattering, others decidedly not. Add to that the word “chivalry” and the effect is force-multiplied.

We have all met those who have been designated (by themselves or others) as gentlemen who are poor representatives of the genre. The fakers, the players, the cads. Those who are weak and hide behind the term as an excuse for not taking a stand or for employing misplaced diplomacy.

And we have met rougher men who are unmoneyed and unschooled, but have a moral code still worthy of the title.

But are any of them gentlemen, properly speaking? Is there a reality behind a term which, circling round its target, is always seemingly shy of the mark? Is it manners? Bloodlines? Wealth? A moral code? And more importantly: is it even relevant to ask the question in the modern world?

Miner explores each of these issues and answers the last question with a resounding: Yes. I completely concur. Now, more than ever, we must ask ourselves who we are as men and women and what motivates our actions and culture, which is disintegrating before our eyes.

I say the question is relevant for the modern world because things do not simply fall apart when challenged. They fall apart because no one defends them. And that is symptomatic of a far greater problem.

I found The Compleat Gentleman to be, unexpectedly, a “compleat” history of the term. More than that, it’s a chronicle of the ideas and ideals that undergird such a designation. This was a happy surprise. Far from being just a manual of how to be a gentleman, Miner’s book wrestles with the ugly parts of its background and the way in which it’s been viewed differently across time.

He uses three archetypes to accomplish this: the warrior, the lover, and (perhaps a surprise for some readers) the monk.

There are figures in its pages who will anger, repel, and annoy you. There are also personages (sometimes much-maligned) who will surprise you with their grace.

And this is what I find to be the book’s truest strength. Does Miner have decided ideas about what makes a gentleman? Certainly. But it is the fair exposure of the good, the bad, and the ugly – which allows a person to engage the book and think for themselves.

And that was the second unanticipated virtue of his work. I’m a quick reader. A couple hundred pages is an evening’s class prep. But this book took me a while to get through. Not because it’s a difficult read. It is not. But because I found myself taking notes. I stopped and thought things over. I argued with him. I argued with myself. Only later did I appreciate my notepad full of things to look into, books to read later (more than 200 works are cited in the bibliography), and connections to explore.

This is precisely what a book should make all of us do: think. It would be a different world if today’s cancel culture took a moment to examine why they agree or disagree with others; if they engaged and learned something in the process rather than creating a very undiverse echo chamber.

Why do I bring this up? Because I suspect there are individuals who will take exception to some of the things he says. Some will likely struggle with the idea of a gentleman needing to be not merely strong but even “dangerous.” It gave me pause too, if only because I was struck by the frankness of what is so rarely admitted these days.

But if you push away a book claiming a gentleman is dangerous and aware of his capacity for violence, you will be missing an important truth. Strong and dangerous cannot be equated with unstable and brutish criminality. They are not the same. But today, we view ‘dangerous’ as unpredictable. Ergo we build safe rooms for those not given adequate trigger warnings or who unexpectedly come up against a soul who believes differently than they do.

Feelings are feelings. But they have become the barometer by which we judge safety and danger. I do not believe Miner’s claim is in error.

As a fully revised and updated edition, Miner’s book has no shortage of surprisingly current and contentious topics that we are all struggling with these days. And what I just said about engaging a book and thinking it through applies to these areas as well.

He treats everything from transgenderism in sports to women in the military, from Antifa and BLM to January’s riot at the U.S. Capitol. His final chapter on sprezzatura even ventures into restraint and circumspection – which I think are antidotes for our gross overexposure on the internet and in real life. Do not come with preconceived notions about what his take on things will be. You may be surprised. And this is found especially in his belief that a gentleman’s stance towards women should always be to give them what they desire.

Many may view this as a book for men. Fair enough. But men and women rise and fall together. I encourage the thinking woman to spend some time with it.

Dangerous God: A Defense of Transcendent Truth

New English Review Press is pleased to announce the publication of our thirty-seventh title, Dangerous God: A Defense of Transcendent Truth by Albert Norton Jr. We believe this is one of the most significant books we have ever published. The books are in and we’d be happy to send you one.

You may be asking yourself why the world is so crazy. We seem to have lost the ability to agree on fundamental truths. Everyone seems to be running toward something, but could it be that we are running away from something greater? In Dangerous God: A Defense of Transcendent Truth, Albert Norton makes the case that confronting the reality of God in the postmodern world is a dangerous proposition. Dangerous to our most cherished notions of reality. Dangerous to our comfortable worldview and how we see ourselves. To find out why this postmodern turn has come to pass, Norton insists we must ask ourselves Pilate’s age-old question: What is truth?

It could be that in the postmodern age we don’t merely disagree about whether something is true, but that we disagree about how truth and values are formed in the first place. To begin to understand this, we really must start with how we think and form value judgments in general. We share an orientation to objective truth, in our thinking, and we build on rational processes of binary differentiation. This should lead us to an objective and real hierarchy of ideals, rather than a subjective or socially-produced narrative.

To understand this, a history of truth formation is presented, distinguishing the medieval to modern periods, and then the modern to postmodern, highlighting the thinking of Descartes, Rousseau, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Marx, Nietzsche, William James, and John Dewey, among many others. This leads to a discussion of truth at the hands of postmodernists such as Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, and Richard Rorty. The purpose is to trace the intellectual movements shaping the determination of truth and values, from individualism to collectivism, correspondence theory to pragmatism, anxiety about meaning as expressed in existentialism, and Marxism re-worked for cultural application—the “woke” movement.

The author concludes: Truth exists as a real and extant feature of the universe. It is objective and unchanging and “out there.” It resides in and emanates from and is personified in God, the ideal of the ideals; the pinnacle of the hierarchy of values that we perceive, rather than create.

Advance Praise:

This is a refreshing reassertion of the answerability of the God argument without unnecessary elaboration or extravagant claims, and a learned but never recondite reminder that it is not so difficult to be sensible and morally confident without being unphilosophical or hidebound: an informative, often delightful read. —Conrad Black, author of Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Champion of Freedom, A President Like No Other: Donald J. Trump and the Restoring of America, and Flight of the Eagle, a Strategic History of the United States.

In Dangerous God, Albert Norton has written an essential philosophical defense of transcendence. In clear and accessible language, Norton logically and methodically demonstrates the reality of transcendent being and in the process undertakes a full-scale demolition of modern and postmodern epistemologies, including reductionist materialism and the ontological denialism of postmodernism. In the process, he shows how collectivism and the denial of God go hand in hand as collectivism serves a means for the individual to hide from the greatest challenge one can possibly face: the confrontation with the divine transcendent. —Michael Rectenwald, author of Springtime for Snowflakes, Beyond Woke, and Google Archipelago: The Digital Gulag and the Simulation of Freedom.

Whatever your philosophical or religious standpoint, Mr. Norton is sure to challenge it in a constructive and thought-provoking way. His dissection of our current philosophical impasse and its consequences is forthright and illuminating. —Theodore Dalrymple, author of The Terror of Existence, Threats of Pain and Ruin, and Grief and Other Stories.

ALBERT NORTON, JR. is a writer and attorney working in the American South. He is author of Dangerous God: A Defense of Transcendent Truth (2021) concerning formation of truth and values in a postmodern age; and Intuition of Significance, a 2020 work weighing the merits of theism against materialism. He is also the author of several award-winning short stories, and two novels: Another Like Me (2015) and Rough Water Baptism (2017), on themes of navigating reality in a post-Christian world.

CAIR Calls on Biden to Appoint a Special Squad to Monitor and Combat so-called Islamophobia, Enforce Sharia

Barenakedislam.com reports:  As ‘anti-Islamization’ policies by Western governments are on the rise, U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations calls on Joe Biden to  appoint  a special envoy to monitor and combat so-called ‘Islamophobia.’

According to Robert Spencer of Jihad Watchshould the USCMO succeed in its goal to see a special envoy to “monitor and combat Islamophobia” in America, the  systematic  hunting   down  and  cancelling  of organizations, websites, and individuals who criticize or offend Islam would be in order.

CAIR published a report that alleges 6,000+ Muslim Civil Rights Complaints were filed in 2020 just in time for its lobbying of  Joe  Biden  to  create  a  squad to crush Christians, Jews  and Infidels  at  large  who  dare criticize the barbarism, inhumanity and incivility of certain edicts and fatwas of Islam.

The  news  releases posted at CAIR.com call into question the credibility of 6000 Muslim complaints.   Only 7 out of the first 100 news release posts as of April 30, 2021 at CAIR.com involved alleged Muslim civil rights complaints.  If there were 6000+ American Muslim civil rights complaints filed with CAIR why are there so few reported on its website with less than 10 percent of CAIR.com news releases reporting such cases?

CAIR.com//press-releases/ published more reports about “systemic racism,” “white supremacist,” Native Americans,  Sikh  community,  Asians  and   bogus defense of some Jews than it reported about Muslim civil rights complaints.   Florida Family Association does not consider valid concerns expressed by elected officials regarding CAIR and Rep. Ilhan Omar to be legitimate civil rights complaints.

One could easily conclude from reading CAIR.com//press-releases/  that  there was truly an absence of discrimination against Muslims in 2020 and that CAIR  was jumping on the band wagon of more popular causes perhaps with the hope of building an alliance with these other groups.

Such  an  envoy  or anti-Islamophobe Squad fails constitutionally   at   the   start   by   giving Islam preferential treatment over other religions.  Officials in the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) were  giving  the  Council  on  American   Islamic Relations  (CAIR)  unconstitutional  preferential treatment in an anti-bullying program. The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) filed a lawsuit in 2017.  FCDF sued the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) on behalf of several area parents and  two  interest  groups.  It asked the court for a preliminary injunction forcing the school district to stop working with CAIR, arguing that working with a religious organization violated the U.S. Constitution’s Establishment Clause.   The (liberal, leftist) San Diego Unified School District settled the case in a manner     which    effectively    gutted    CAIR’s anti-Islamophobe Squad in the district’s schools.

Creating a squad to enforce the Sharia law edict that prohibits truthful criticism  of  Islam  would  violate   the   First Amendment,   Establishment   Clause   and  equal protection    of    the    law.       Many   people  and organizations, including other religions, rightfully educate  others and express concern regarding the barbarism, inhumanity and incivility of certain edicts and fatwas of Islam.  No one religion should be given special treatment by government tasking a special squad  to  enforce  the  religious  laws  of  that one religion to censor truthful criticism.

MICHIGAN: Muslim Accused of Waging Jihad for the Islamic State Threatens to Murder his Attorneys

“I swear to God, one must not live in America because there is so much wickedness.”

Hey, here’s an idea: get out.

Dearborn Man Accused Of ISIS Ties Threatened To Kill His Lawyer If Freed On Bond

by Allan Lengel, Deadline Detroit, May 8, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A legal team is fighting to get bond for a Dearborn man accused of being an ISIS soldier who hates America. However, the man has threatened to kill his lawyer as soon as he’s released, according to a government court filing.

U.S. District Judge David Lawson in Detroit will decide the bond issue Monday for Ibraheem Musaibli, 30, held in the Livingston County Jail on charges linked to the Islamic extremist group. A trial is set for October….

Musaibli was arrested on the Syrian battlefield in 2018 and subsequently indicted on allegations of knowingly providing and attempting to provide material support to ISIS. He was detained by Syrian Democratic Forces and was transferred to U.S. custody in July 2018.

He has been in federal custody nearly three years. His attorneys say he’s harassed in jail because he’s Muslim. He’s in isolation.

“Musaibli’s continued disdain for America coupled with his repeated demands to be sent to Yemen make him both a flight risk and a danger to the community. Musaibli’s motion for bond should therefore be denied,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office argued in an April 22 filing.

Musaibli was born in Michigan, but spent considerable time in Yemen, his parents’ birthplace, the court document states. He left the U.S. in 2015 and spent a few months in Yemen before sneaking into Syria to join ISIS. He trained with the organization and eventually fought in combat, the government alleges.

In a July 2016 conversation with his cousin, he called America “immoral,” and said: “I swear to God, one must not live in America because there is so much wickedness.” He then said about his parents, who live in Dearborn: “They are mad at me because I always tell them to get out of the country of the infidels as the Prophet had advised.”…

Further more, the government wrote:

Musaibli expresses that he wants to be imprisoned in an Arab country rather than “this infidel country.” Finally, over a discovery issue, Musaibli claimed that “as soon as he is out he will kill [his] attorney.

His attorneys, John Shea and James Gerometta, write in a motion filed last week that Musaibli denies being an ISIS member. He’s not a danger or flight risk, they say

As for the threat about killing his attorney, they write:

Mr. Musaibli has been locked up for almost three years; his frustration is understandable, and defense attorneys routinely deal with clients directing their frustrations at them. Undersigned counsel are confident that, at worst, the call reflects this frustration and they do not take his words literally….

‘All Attempts To Reform Islam Have Failed And Are Likely To Continue Failing,’ Prominent Iraqi Writer

There is a very definitive reason why attempts to reform Islam and drag it into the modern age have failed. Unlike Judaism and Christianity (post Vatican II) which encourages questioning, probing, reflection, such reform or questioning is a crime in Islam. It is the crime of hypocrisy punishable by death (just like apostasy and blasphemy). The true heretics, the real radicals in Islam are the Muslims calling for reform and enlightenment.

“Every once in a while, attempts to establish enlightenment in Muslim thought, or [at least] to discuss this, come to the fore. [These attempts are] prompted by the violence and terror that have been perpetrated and continue to be perpetrated in the name of Islam, especially based on certain Quranic verses. Such attempts were made and are still being made [with respect to] Salafi ideology, both  Sunni and Shi’ite [sic, with the aim of ending the ideological stagnation in Muslim thought and opening it up to reform and humanism, so as to adapt it to the spirit of the [modern] age, which is characterized by respect for human dignity and the promise of human rights for all.

Iraqi Writer: All Attempts To Reform Islam Have Failed And Are Likely To Continue Failing

MEMRI, May 2021:

In a March 10, 2021 article on the Sawt Al-Iraq website, Iraqi journalist Mahdi Qassem noted that all the efforts of liberal Muslim intellectuals over the years to reform Muslim thought and adapt it to the modern age have failed. Moreover, he said, they often resulted in the assassination of the reformists. He added that future  reform attempts are bound to fail as well, because they continue to be met with fierce and violent opposition from the extremists, both Sunni and Shi’ite, who regard their proponents as traitors and Western agents. This extremism, he lamented, is rampant even among young Muslims who grew up and were educated in the West, as reflected by terrible terrorist operations they have carried out. He concluded by promising to reward anyone who managed to reform Islam with “bird’s milk” – an idiom for something nonexistent and unobtainable.

Cartoon: “Religious extremism” (Al-Jazirah, Saudi Arabia, January 7, 2021)

The following are excerpts from Qassem’s article:[1]

“Every once in a while, attempts to establish enlightenment in Muslim thought, or [at least] to discuss this, come to the fore. [These attempts are] prompted by the violence and terror that have been perpetrated and continue to be perpetrated in the name of Islam, especially based on certain Quranic verses. Such attempts were made and are still being made [with respect to] Salafi ideology, both  Sunni and Shi’ite [sic][2], with the aim of ending the ideological stagnation in Muslim thought and opening it up to reform and humanism, so as to adapt it to the spirit of the [modern] age, which is characterized by respect for human dignity and the promise of human rights for all.

“These attempts started in the 1920s and continue to this day. But [they are only] a pale spark of light in a long and dark corridor, because they were met with, and are still met with fierce opposition from the armed guards of the Sunni perception that accuses the other or heresy, as well as from the extremist Khomeinist Shi’ite ideology. [These reformist attempts] often end with the murder of the enlightened reformists, such as intellectuals Hussein Muruwa[3] and Farag Foda.[4] The late [Egyptian] author Naguib Mahfouz [survived] an attempt to stab him to death, while others were forced to hide or flee to the ‘infidel West’ and beg asylum there.

“I believe that any future attempt [of reform] will fail as well, for Islam is the only religion in the world that resists reform and will never be reformed, neither by force or through a flexible [approach]. Not only because this requires changing [the religion] and omitting many Quranic verses that call for violent jihad and for forceful coercion, but also because the Salafis and their sheikhs believe that any enlightened reform of this kind will empty Islam of its content and essence, and lead to its distortion and annulment, turning it into what they see as a fake religion like Christianity and Judaism.

“These [Salafi] elements regard the enlightened attempts [of reform] as a major objective of Western forces that are completely hostile to Islam, and regard those who engage [in reform] as treasonous agents of these hostile forces, who must be brutally slaughtered and murdered as punishment for their actions against Islam and the Muslims…

“Many third-generation descendants of Muslim [immigrants] were born in Western welfare states and studied at their best schools and universities. Moreover, they grew up in real democracies and in open societies that promote the values of tolerance and of giving every individual a chance to develop his personal skills and abilities, and that punish every kind of racism and hate-mongering. But it is young men and women of this third generation, of all people, who joined terrorist organization like Al-Qaeda, ISIS and others… and perpetrated horrible, heinous and barbaric crimes of murder, massacre and burning people alive…

“If any of those [liberals] manages to reform Islam and make it truly enlightened, let him come to me and I will give him bird’s milk as a reward, along with my heartfelt gratitude!”

[2] The term “Salafism” is generally used in the context of Sunni Islam.

[3] Hussein Muruwa (1910–1987) was a Lebanese intellectual and philosopher and a senior member of the Lebanese Communist Party, who was assassinated in his home in Beirut.

[4] Farag Foda (1946–1992) was a renowned Egyptian liberal thinker who was murdered by two members of the Al-Gama’a Al-Islamiyya organizations.

Hamas-linked CAIR gets Amazon to Drop its Drawers

When I wrote the article below, the briefs were still available, but predictably, Amazon (ever eager to be Sharia-compliant) has now caved and removed them from sale. No one will mourn the loss of this item, but the implications of this go far beyond underwear.

My latest in PJ Media:

It’s a day ending with a y, so you can be sure that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is enraged about something. This time it’s underwear, and it is demanding that Amazon drop its drawers. Or, as CAIR’s National Communications Director and spokesman, Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper, put it in his press release, “CAIR Calls on Amazon to Drop Seller’s Insulting Underwear Line Embossed with Islamic Testimony of Faith.”In its press release, CAIR “called online retailer Amazon to remove a line of men’s underwear and boxer briefs that offensively displays the Islamic Shahadah in Arabic calligraphy, the testimony of Islamic faith and one of the five pillars of Islam. The product is listed on Amazon as being sold by Chinese clothing distributer Guangzhou Yumei.”The offending drawers are is listed as “CUTEDWARF La-Ilaha-Illallah-Muhammadur-Rasulullah Men’s Boxer Briefs Sexy Underwear Slim Fit Tights Sports Briefs Pajamas Black.” The Arabic text means: “There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah,” which is the shahada, the Islamic profession of faith.

CAIR claims that “it received complaints about the item offered by Amazon seller Guangzhou Yumei being offensive to Muslims because the Islamic testimony of faith would be worn disrespectfully over the crotch.” Unfortunately, Hooper did not explain how the Amazon shoppers who complained to CAIR found the item in the first place. Searches at Amazon for “Islamic briefs,” “Islamic underwear,” and “shahada underwear” do not bring up the offensive item. What were CAIR’s complainers searching for? Maybe just material they could claim to find offensive and demand that Amazon remove?

As of this writing on Saturday morning, the briefs are not yet gone from Amazon. However, in the past Amazon has removed material CAIR demanded it remove. In fact, the CAIR press release notes that the Hamas-linked organization already has a few notches in its belt in this line: “In 2019, CAIR helped secure Amazon’s removal of a number of doormats, bathmats and other items imprinted with Islamic calligraphy, references to the Prophet Muhammad and verses from the Quran, Islam’s holy text.” And it wants more: “CAIR however notes that Amazon continues to profit from the sale of pro-confederate digital audio books like the ‘The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Civil War,’ despite public calls from groups like CAIR to drop such materials.”

‘One Mosque Is Erected Every 15 Days in France, While One Christian Building Is Destroyed At the Same Pace’

My latest in PJ Media is a VIP article. I am happy to be able to offer you a 5% discount on becoming a VIP member at PJ Media. Just enter the code SPENCER when you sign up here.

Edouard de Lamaze, president of the Observatoire du Patrimoine Religieux (Observatory of Religious Heritage) in Paris, is sounding the alarm about the rapid erosion of France’s cultural heritage. “One mosque is erected every 15 days in France,” he said recently, “while one Christian building is destroyed at the same pace. It creates a tipping point on the territory that should be taken into account.” Yes, it should be taken into account by anyone, Christian or non-Christian, who is concerned about the future of France. But it isn’t.

According to the Catholic News Agency, “Lamaze’s appeal for increased awareness came after a fire destroyed the 16th-century Church of Saint-Pierre in Romilly-la-Puthenaye, Normandy, northern France. The fire, deemed accidental, took place on April 15, exactly two years after the blaze that devastated Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.” What’s more, “Lamaze told CNA in an interview that in addition to one religious building disappearing every two weeks — by demolition, transformation, destruction by fire, or collapse — two-thirds of fires in religious buildings are due to arson.”

All this was going on, Lamaze noted, against a backdrop of incomprehension and indifference: “The current minister of culture is seeking to establish a protection charter, but the situation is extremely serious and, alas, I don’t see any real awareness growing, nor any sense of responsibility in the face of this crucial challenge for our national heritage.”

MINNESOTA: Man pleads guilty to trying to aid Hamas as part of efforts to attack US police and overthrow government

The alleged “Boogaloo” movement is portrayed in the media as “right-wing,” but Teeter “told CNN in June that his goal was to protect demonstrators from law enforcement and white supremacists, describing himself as an anarchist.” The Justice Department said:

“These defendants sought to use violence against the police, other government officials and government property as part of their desire to overthrow the government. While planning these activities, the defendants met individuals whom they believed to be members of the foreign terrorist group Hamas.”

A man who says he intends to protect Leftist rioters from police and from “white supremacists,” who do exist but in vanishingly smaller numbers than the Left imagines and claims, is not “right-wing.” But the Leftist media establishment needs “right-wing” terrorists to maintain its narrative, so these clowns will do.

‘Boogaloo Bois’ member pleads guilty in connection with attempt to supply material support to Hamas

by Alex Nitzberg, Just the News, May 4, 2021:

A member of the “Boogaloo Bois” has pleaded guilty in connection with attempting to supply material support to the foreign terror group Hamas.

Michael Solomon “pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization,” according to the Justice Department. “According to court documents, Michael Solomon, 31, of New Brighton, Minn., was a member of the ‘Boogaloo Bois,’ a group of individuals who espouse violent anti-government sentiments. In late May 2020, the FBI initiated an investigation into Solomon and co-defendant Benjamin Ryan Teeter, both members of the ‘Boogaloo Bois,’ and a sub-group called the ‘Boojahideen,’” the DOJ said.

The two individuals engaged with a confidential human source who they thought belonged to Hamas as well as an undercover FBI worker they also thought was a Hamas member.

“According to court documents, on June 10, 2020, Solomon and Teeter met with a confidential human source (CHS), whom the defendants believed to be a member of Hamas. During this meeting, Solomon and Teeter proposed assisting Hamas as a means of furthering the goals of the Boogaloo Bois,” the DOJ noted. “On June 28, 2020, Solomon, Teeter and the CHS met an undercover employee of the FBI (UCE) that Solomon believed was a member of Hamas. During this meeting, Solomon and Teeter proposed manufacturing suppressors, untraceable firearms and fully automatic firearms for Hamas.”

Solomon and Teeter made several suppressors and gave them to the two individuals they believed belonged to Hamas — they also intended to make and supply even more suppressors.

“On July 6, 2020, Solomon and Teeter purchased a drill press for the purpose of manufacturing suppressors for Hamas. Solomon admitted that he and Teeter had planned to use the drill press to also manufacture suppressors for members of the Boogaloo Bois. Solomon and Teeter brought the drill press to Solomon’s home and later used the drill press to manufacture five suppressors,” the press release said. “On July 30, 2020, Solomon and Teeter delivered the suppressors to the CHS and UCE believing those devices would be used by the militant wing of Hamas. During that meeting, the defendants agreed to manufacture additional suppressors for Hamas believing that the next batch of suppressors would be used against Israeli and U.S. military personnel overseas,” the DOJ noted….

‘Islamophobia has become a tool to silence critics of Islam. Criticism is not the same as discrimination.’

“Islamophobia exists just like anti-Semitism. However, it has become a political tool to silence the critics of Islam. Criticism of any religion is not the same as discrimination against its followers.”

I’m not sure “Islamophobia” exists, it depends upon how it is defined, and it rarely is. But the rest of this anonymous statement is spot-on, and is what I have been saying for years. However, Pakistan fails to question its ”all-weather friend” China on its exploitation of Uighur Muslims in concentration camps.

The European Parliament, in its latest session on Thursday, adopted a resolution demanding Pakistan to allow space for religious freedom and urged the EU authorities to review GSP plus status for Pakistan amid the increasing number of blasphemy cases.

Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, both in content and application, are contrary to Pakistan’s human rights obligations to respect and protect the right to life, freedom of thought, conscience and religion or belief, freedom of opinion and expression, equality before the law, prohibition of discrimination and the right to life….
