WATCH: House Judiciary Committee Hearing on the Border Security in Yuma, Arizona

Congressman Matt Gaetz, member of the House Judiciary Committee, and his fellow Republican members visited the Arizona border to talk with those who are directly with local officials. Their purpose was to determine if the Department of Homeland Security is even remotely interested in securing Arizona’s.
NOTE: Not a single Democrat on the Judiciary Committee accompanied their fellow committee members to the Arizona border to view the situation first hand.

In an email Congressman Gaetz states,
As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I had the opportunity this week to visit the U.S.-Mexico border near Yuma, Arizona. The committee held a field hearing in Yuma, listening to people in the community who are directly impacted by the Biden border crisis. American communities like this one are completely overwhelmed because of illegal immigration.
During the hearing, it was discovered that Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas deliberately lied to a Yuma County Supervisor and failed to close extensive gaps in the southern border. The Biden Administration must be held accountable for turning a blind eye and failing to secure our border.
Border communities are failing due to their destructive immigration policies. Our trip included a visit to a local hospital on the brink of collapse after spending $20 million on migrant care. Republicans should not be the only party igniting demands for asylum reforms, protecting the “Remain in Mexico” policy, finishing the wall, and unleashing the capabilities of our Border Patrol agents.
