As a young boy I most enjoyed my family’s traditions of celebrating important Christian events such as:

All Saints’ Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day, the Feast of All Saints, the Feast of All Hallows, the Solemnity of All Saints, and Hallowmas, which is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honor of all the saints of the Church, whether they are known or unknown. From the 4th century.

The first Thanksgiving which was celebrated by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in October 1621.

The Birth of Jesus Christ who is my Lord, Redeemer and Savior.

These Christian events have been and continue to be the time when my wife and I gather with family to celebrate events that have transformed us.

Sadly, today these three Christian events have become commercialized. All Hallows’ Day has become Halloween. Thanksgiving is about turkeys, and Christmas is about the fictitious Santa Claus and gifts to us, not to others in need.

The real Santa Claus dates back to 4th-century’s Hagios Nikolas, the bishop of Myra in Turkey, who became famous for his generous gifts to the poor.

Christian family traditions have become secular celebrations which have nothing to do with what is truly important.

Leviticus 20:6 reads, “And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.”

Those who don’t look at All Hallows’ Eve, Thanksgiving and Christmas as Christian traditions is breaking their Covenant with God and His Son Jesus.

Be forewarned! Galatians 5:19-21 reads, “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Keep yourself and your family close to God.

That is the best tradition that must be practiced each and every day of one’ life.
