Pelosi on Voters’ Concerns About Inflation, Crime: ‘I Dismiss That’

By Discover The Networks

Tuesday on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) completely rejected a poll showing that Americans’ top concerns going into the November midterm elections are inflation and crime.

Host propagandist Andrea Mitchell began, “Let’s talk about rising inflation concerns along with crime, giving momentum, new momentum to Republicans after the Democrats were closing the gap, the historic gap. After the Supreme Court ruling, there was huge outrage. That has seemed to subside, at least among overriding concerns. Despite all the legislative accomplishments, and I want to cite them, I want to say it’s been an extraordinary session. You and the president have done so much in terms of domestic concerns, the economy. So why do you think the president hasn’t gotten it through to the voters?”

Pelosi replied, “Well, first of all, let me say that I think that much of what you’ve said I don’t agree with, that is to say, the New York Times poll, I think is an outlier poll, you cite one poll, but all the other polls —”

Mitchell interjected, “It’s also the RealClearPolitics average is showing similar issues.”

Pelosi said, “No, but that was one that brought down the average, and it was an outlier. It wasn’t even that big a sample. So I dismiss that. I have been since Congress adjourned, I’ve been in an average of five states a week. And I can tell you that women’s concerns about their freedom are very, very much still very significant in terms of how they will vote.”

It’s just like a Democrat to tell the voters what their concerns are.

Video of Pelosi Saying on January 6, 2021, That She Would Like to Physically “Punch … Out” President Trump & Go to Jail As a Consequence

On October 13, 2022, CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 aired never-before-seen video footage that had been filmed by Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. in that footage, the House Speaker stated that if President Trump were to come to the Capitol that day, she would physically assault him and would be glad to serve time in jail as a consequence. (During his speech earlier that day at the Ellipse, Trump had told a large crowd of his supporters: “And after this, we’re going walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We’re going walk down to the Capitol.”) A staff member told Pelosi, “The Secret Service said they have dissuaded him from coming to Capitol Hill. They told him they don’t have the resources to protect him here. So at the moment, he is not coming, but that could change.” An enraged Pelosi responded: “I hope he comes. I want to punch him out…. I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I want to punch him out, and I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.” Pelosi also stated: “Tell him [Trump] if he comes here, we’re going to the White House.”

Deconstructing the ‘Election Denier’ Smear thumbnail

Deconstructing the ‘Election Denier’ Smear

By The Daily Skirmish – Liberato.US

The ‘election denier’ drumbeat is getting louder and more persistent.  I’m seeing lots of scare stories now, three weeks out from Election Day – ‘don’t elect election deniers; they’re a threat to democracy.’  The Democrats must think their smear job and fearmongering are working, but I assure you, they’re not.  Republicans are ready, and they have the better arguments.

Kari Lake got a question on the campaign trail about being an election denier.  She whipped out a stack of pages listing all the Democrats who have denied election results since 2000.  That would include Stacey Abrams and Hillary Clinton.  One thinks she’s the Governor of Georgia and the other thinks she’s President.  That’s just for starters.  The Republican Party put together a list of 150 Democrat election deniers.  The list includes Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, John Kerry, Dick Durbin, Maxine Waters, and many, many more.  You can watch a video that goes on for 12 minutes full of Democrats refusing to accept the results of elections they lost.

MUST WATCH: 10 minutes of Democrats denying election results. pic.twitter.com/bJRbzEcIO2

— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) June 23, 2022

Another Republican candidate was ready for the smear.  Democrat Senator Patty Murray of Washington state slammed her Republican opponent Tiffany Smiley for questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.  But Smiley came right back, calling Murray a hypocrite who shouldn’t be lecturing anyone about democracy because Murray herself questioned the results of the 2004 presidential election.  Murray had no response.

But the best answer to the election denier smear came from a congressional candidate in Virginia who was asked, “Do you believe the 2020 election was free, fair and untainted, and Joe Biden is the duly elected president of the United States?”  Hung Cao responded: “Sir, Joe Biden is the president of the United States.  If you don’t believe me, go to your gas pumps, or go to your grocery stores, and that’ll tell you who is.”  Master stroke.  Put the stupid Democrats in their place.

The Democrats huff and puff about Republicans pursuing the idea of alternative electors to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election.  We now even have the spectacle of the FBI and Justice Department attempting to criminalize the effort and issuing grand jury subpoenas to the people involved.   But let’s not forget challenges to presidential electors go all the way back to 1876 and it was the Democrats who challenged electors in 19602000, and 2004.   Nobody issued grand jury subpoenas then, nor should they have.

My own response to this election denier business is that just because they’re election deniers doesn’t mean they’re not right about needed reforms.  Starting with cleaning the voter rolls, which is just common sense.  I love to hear Democrats twist themselves all into knots defending the idea of leaving dead people on the rolls.  Another common sense reform is voter ID, which is supported by most Americans of all stripes and has been upheld by just about every court that has looked at it, including one in Missouri just last week.  The Democrat argument on voter ID is completely racist – that black people are too stupid to get a photo ID.  I just heard about a state, I forget where, that sends out mobile vans to anyone who asks and gives them a photo ID on the spot, free of charge.  The Democrats can jump up and down and scream all they want, but they really have no argument left.  So, tell me how putting people in office who care about free and fair elections is a bad thing.  You’re going to have to explain that one to me, because it doesn’t make any sense.

But a New York Times reporter and book author – Robert Draper – just called people like me ‘insincere’ in advocating reforms for future elections.  People like me are just giving cover to the 2020 election deniers, because we won’t denounce them.  Following this to its logical conclusion, we can never take steps to secure our elections ever again because that would always affirm the people who challenged the election results in 2020.  Let’s see how well that logic holds up in the year 2120.  Hey, whatever sells books.

Here’s what I denounce:  Hypocritical Democrats who get hysterical about Republican election deniers but not those in their own party.  Partisan government officials who attempt to criminalize alternate electors following the constitutional process for challenging presidential election results.  And, most of all, anyone with phony narratives and smear tactics who stands between me and my vote counting just as much as anyone else’s in free and fair elections.

Matthew 24:1-14 — The Signs of the End of the Age thumbnail

Matthew 24:1-14 — The Signs of the End of the Age

By Bud Hancock

The BIG Question

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Jesus Answers their Question With TRUTH

In response to the disciples question, “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world (Gr. aion / age)?” The first words of Jesus’s answer to His disciples were “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Jesus surely knew that deception would be multiplied as the end of the current age drew closer, so He warned His disciples about that deception.

His warning was directed to them and them alone at that time.  Since they would be the people through whom Jesus would establish the Church, His Body on earth after His departure, it was critical that they understood about deception and how, if accepted, it can steal, kill and destroy.

  • The stones of the temple will all be thrown down – done
  • Many will claim to be The Anointed, or to be anointed – Occurring NOW
  • Wars and Rumors of Wars (reports of, the hearing of)– Occurring NOW
  • Nation will rise against nation – Occurring NOW
  • Kingdom will rise against kingdom – Occurring NOW
  • Famines, Pestilences and earthquakes in various places – Occurring NOW
  • Persecution and killing of the saints – Occurring NOW

The next three statements by Jesus indicate a growing apostasy among believers which was mentioned by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3. In verse three of that passage, Paul also warned believers that they should not allow themselves to be deceived “by any means” because that deception would elad to a “falling away” (Strong’s 646, from the Greek apostasia, pronounced ap-os-tas-ee’-ah, means defection from truth).

  • Offense and betrayal and hatred among the Church – Occurring NOW
  • Many false prophets will arise and deceive many in the Church – Occurring NOW
  • Due to waxing (increasing) iniquity the love of many will grow cold – Occurring NOW

There is not one word in that passage predicting that any nation will grow more spiritual, more loving, more kind, more moral or righteous or become “great again”; in fact, such a statement contradicts the words of Jesus who clearly stated that the wars on earth will be due to nations and kingdoms rising against each other, not because they will be getting ‘better’. He also states that “iniquity will abound” and that the growing iniquity, NOT any increase in the ‘goodness of any nation’, will affect the Church, causing many to believe the deception, commonly known as propaganda, whether from any government or from any “Religious officials”.

Every statement of Jesus in this passage is occurring NOW, all over the planet. Earthquakes are definitely increasing in both frequency and intensity, in many cases in conjunction with volcanic eruptions, in many different places around the earth. The earth itself is groaning, awaiting its own redemption from the curse placed on it by God in response to Adam’s sin. The current predictions of a coming massive famine with millions of people starving are totally in accordance with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:7. We are also seeing pestilence in new forms, but in addition, the return of many which were thought to have been eradicated from the earth. Any true believer who has studied the word of God MUST be aware that we ae seeing ALL the signs Jesus told us about. Jesus also declared that the signs are only “the beginning of sorrows”.

Anyone who ignores them, or refuses to see them, is denying the truth of Jesus’ words and in effect is placing his or her trust in the words of false prophets who would have us believe that man is capable of fixing the problems plaguing this planet and all the people dwelling on it. Since man in his fallen state is responsible for those problems, the chance that he can fix them in nil. What is the likelihood that Donald J Trump, or any other politician, most of whom are lying, cheating and corrupt snakes, can “Make America Great Again”? An apparition, a fleeting ghost of false hope that will lead astray anyone who accepts it’s possibility. For that to occur would bring ‘glory’ to the one, or the many, through whom it would be accomplished and that would also be contrary to scripture wherein God declared: I am the Lord: that is my name: and my GLORY will I NOT GIVE ANOTHER, neither my praise to graven images”. (Isaiah 42:8 KJV)

I have wondered how easily Satan can deceive so many, especially those who claim to be followers of Christ, and convince them of something that, while it might ‘seem good’, is totally contradictory to God’s word.

Could it be that we have come to see this world as a place so desirable, a place we should love so much, that we cannot let go of it, all the while knowing in our hearts that it will not last much longer? Have we decided to cling to this world, forgetting that Jesus promised He was going away to prepare a place for  us, one of the many mansions in His Father’s house?

Abraham ”saw” it by faith and longed to be in it.

As clean and untouched as the earth was in Abraham’s day, the Patriarch declared that “…he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:10 KJV). Abraham’s vision, seen by faith, was his view of one of those many mansions that are likely now prepared and waiting for the arrival of the Church, the Body of Christ. I have never seen that place but it must be beautiful, a place we should all have our hearts and eyes looking toward as our eternal dwelling place where we will never again experience the sadness and sorrows we have endured in our lives on this earth.

Conclusion

While it would be wonderful to write that the world is becoming a better place, that America will be “made great again”, that she will rise again as the moral, religious and political leader of the world, it would not be the truth, and anything that is not the truth is deception, designed to mislead and bring destruction and misery.

The plain simple truth is that we ARE seeing ALL the signs of the end of this age, the Church age; all those who believe on, and accept Jesus as Lord, are closer to the joyous realization of all the promises made to us by the Lord: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 KJV)

The signs we are witnessing should cause shouting and joy as we watch for the approaching of the Lord as He is even now preparing to come for us. We will leave this cursed earth behind and begin our new eternal lives in bodies that are just like His immortal, perfect body!

The most wonderful part of the passage in Matthew 24 is : But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end (of the Church age) come.”

I will close with this fervent admonition: ENDURE UNTO THE END!

Blessings and Maranatha!

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!

What kind of doctor amputates the breasts of a 12-year-old girl? thumbnail

What kind of doctor amputates the breasts of a 12-year-old girl?

By MercatorNet – Navigating Modern Complexities

Statistics published in JAMA Pediatrics are horrifying

The deeper you dig in the dark warrens of adolescent transgender medicine, the more convinced you become that the doctors who operate on young girls are criminal or insane or both.

I know that sounds extreme. But how can a decent person read the bare statistics in a recent article in one of the world’s leading paediatrics journals without feeling rage?

A brief report from four doctors at Vanderbilt University, “Gender-Affirming Chest Reconstruction Among Transgender and Gender-Diverse Adolescents in the US From 2016 to 2019” appeared in JAMA Pediatrics earlier this week. It is “the largest investigation to date of gender-affirming chest reconstruction in a pediatric population” to date.

The researchers found that the incidence of “gender-affirming chest reconstruction” surgery for children under 18 – better known as double mastectomies or “top jobs” — increased by 389 percent between 2016 and 2019. (These “chest reconstructions” included some boys who presumably wanted breast implants – but these were only 1.4 percent.)

An estimated 1,130 “top jobs” were performed during those four years on girls as young as 12. What kind of doctor amputates the healthy breasts of a 12-year-old girl?

According to the data, based on the Nationwide Ambulatory Surgery Sample, the Vanderbilt doctors calculated that 5.5 percent of the children were under 14, 21.5 percent under 15, and 56 percent under 16.

It gets worse.

Through the distorted lens of the billion-dollar sex-reassignment surgery industry, “top jobs” might make sense as the last step in a gender-affirmation journey. After a gender-dysphoric girl has experimented with living in a male body for months or years, she wants her chest to look masculine. She proceeds through the following steps:

  • I know I’m a boy in a girl’s body.
  • I need social affirmation.
  • I need puberty blockers.
  • I need cross-sex hormones.
  • I need a double mastectomy.

But according to the figures compiled by the Vanderbilt doctors, only 19.9 percent of these girls had hormone therapy before surgery. That means that the overwhelming majority of these young girls – 80.1 percent – had their breasts amputated without attempting to masculinise their bodies.

One of the leading American hospitals for transgender surgery, Boston Children’s Hospital, recommends that patients have hormone therapy first:

Surgery is never the first step in a gender transition. It is something that happens after you have already explored social and medical transition options. People who choose to undergo surgery usually do so after taking other steps in the gender affirmation process, such as taking supplemental hormones.

And the recently-released standards for transgender medicine specify that an adolescent should have had “at least 12 months of gender-affirming hormone therapy or longer, if required, to achieve the desired surgical result for gender-affirming procedures” (WPATH, section 6.12).

Amputation without hormone therapy makes no sense even in the Alice in Wonderland universe of transgender medicine. It is sheer mutilation. How will it solve girls’ gender dysphoria? It is worse than prescribing liposuction for a 12-year-old suffering from anorexia nervosa. Or amputating limbs or severing spinal cords for people suffering from Body Integrity Identity Disorder.

Furthermore, more than a third of the girls had been diagnosed with anxiety or depression. (The study fails to mention autism, which is often implicated in gender dysphoria.) What kind of surgeon amputates the breasts of a mentally-ill teenager?

The data in this study are already nearly three years old. How many more girls will be maimed for life before American doctors wake up to this grotesque violation of human rights?

Impeach Biden for Saudi Election Quid Pro Quo thumbnail

Impeach Biden for Saudi Election Quid Pro Quo

By Jihad Watch

Bribing a foreign power to rig oil prices to keep control of Congress.

“There’s going to be some consequences for what they’ve done,” Biden threatened Saudi Arabia on CNN.

The widely unpopular president wasn’t upset at the Kingdom over what it had done to America, but to his party’s prospects for retaining control of Congress.

In response, the Saudis revealed that the Biden administration had actually asked them to postpone the production cut for a month. Why a month? A month wouldn’t have changed anything meaningfully for Americans, but would have gotten the midterms out of the way.

As the Wall Street Journal noted, “The one-month delay requested by Washington would have meant a production cut made in the days before the election, too late to have much effect on consumers’ wallets ahead of the vote.”

Perfect timing. Too perfect to be a coincidence.

Adrienne Watson, Biden’s NSC assistant, denied Biden had been asking for an election boost. “It’s categorically false to connect this to U.S. elections,” the former Hillary Clinton spokeswoman insisted. “It’s about the impact of this shortsighted decision to the global economy.”

But the story became even more damning when it was revealed that the Biden administration had tried to bribe the Saudis to delay the production cut until the midterms by promising to “buy oil on the market to replenish Washington’s strategic stockpiles if the price of Brent, the main international benchmark, fell to $75 a barrel”.

Biden was bribing the Saudis with a potential fortune in taxpayer money as a hedge against a decline in the price of oil. The strategic reserves had already been badly depleted by Biden in an effort to lower oil prices. This was not done to help consumers, but to politically prop up Biden’s own prospects for a second term. Biden plans to end the strategic releases from the reserve at the end of October. This is obviously aimed at influencing the midterm elections.

With the release of 180 million barrels of oil, Biden was trying to buy the midterms in a way that was corrupt, but technically legal. With crude currently priced in the high 80s, refilling the reserve would be quite expensive and Biden officials had told the finance media they would not be refilling the reserve anytime soon. But they were telling the Saudis something very different.

Biden’s already legendary corruption has worsened dramatically when given full access to the White House, but trying to bribe a foreign power to rig oil prices to keep control of Congress is outrageous even in the litany of White House scandals.

The quid pro quo here is potentially massive.

Biden’s NSC spokesman, John Kirby, warned that his boss would “take a look to see if that relationship is where it needs to be and that it is serving our national security interests.”

It’s not the national security interests at issue here, but Biden’s own political interests.

The Biden administration has already begun pulling out of regional security sessions in revenge for the Saudi refusal to prop up energy prices to help the Democrats retain control of Congress.

The carrot and the stick here involve foreign policy and billions in spending for a quid pro quo.

The Biden administration was using oil purchases and security cooperation as leverage to secure a foreign government’s help in the midterm elections. Senate Democrats are rushing to make the quid pro quo even more explicit by threatening to pull out anti-Iran defenses.

Rep. Tom Malinowski, Rep. Sean Casten and Rep. Susan Wild, all of whom are running for reelection, introduced a bill calling for the removal of missile defense systems and troops from Saudi Arabia, to punish it for the pre-midterm production cut.

“Saudi Arabia and the UAE’s drastic cut in oil production, despite President Biden’s overtures to both countries in recent months, is a hostile act,” the press release by the candidates stated.

As Biden said, “There’s going to be some consequences”.

Rep. Malinowski is running a tight race in a time when, as the New York Times described, “gas prices were soaring”. Susan Wild is running in another “bellwether” seat. It’s unlikely to be a coincidence that House Democrats who would have benefited the most from Biden’s Saudi quid pro quo are also the ones trying to punish the Saudis, not for Americans, but for themselves.

Rep. Malinowski voted to impeach Trump because, in his words, “by pressuring a foreign country”, he “used the powers of his office not for America but for himself”, “signaled that America’s foreign policy can be bought by anyone willing to interfere in our politics on his behalf” and “endangered our national security, and violated his oath of office.” All of these things are true of Biden and of his political accomplices inside and outside the administration.

Biden was caught trying to pressure a foreign country for his own political benefit. Had he just asked the Saudis to suspend the price cut without a specific timetable, he might have gotten away with it, but by timing it for a month, enough to clear the midterms, he indicted himself.

The Saudis revealed what Biden was up to and administration flunkies like Watson have denied the motive, but not the act. The next step is for Congress to investigate the quid pro quo.

Considering how many members of the current Congress were heavily invested in preventing a production cut before the midterms, it is unrealistic to presume that a corrupt and self-interested body can credibly investigate itself. Only after the midterms have cleaned house a little bit will it be possible to turn over some rocks and discover who knew what and what the exact deal was.

Biden’s strategic oil reserve releases timed to the midterms were bad enough. There was a time when such nakedly calculated abuses of government assets and taxpayer money might have even been impeachable, but we live in times when politicians routinely engage in such plunder.

Trying to bribe a foreign government to interfere in our election is a whole other matter.

The Democrats were the ones who set the precedent with the first Trump impeachment. And that should be Biden’s first impeachment too. Whether it will be his last is up to Congress.

LOL: Buttigieg Says Biden’s Had ‘So Many Accomplishments’ It’s Hard to Talk About All of Them

By Discover The Networks

Sunday on ABC’s This Week, Transportation Secretary diversity hire Pete Buttigieg claimed comically that President Biden had so many accomplishments it was hard to talk about them all.

To the host’s suggestion that President Biden should be speaking more about his accomplishments from last year, the hopelessly incompetent Buttigieg said, “Well, we are proud of those accomplishments. You know, the things that those accomplishments have done, first of all, contributing to historic job creation under this president, 10 million plus jobs, that’s never happened in this time period in a presidency before in American history. Remember, we have our challenges right now, but when the president took office, we were facing an economy that was at risk of going into free fall. The American Rescue Plan stopped that, and it went directly into easing the burden for Americans with those tax benefits that Americans got, and it went into projects that are improving communities all around the United States. Back in my hometown saw infrastructure projects that they’re doing there with some of that money.”

He added, “I think we run the risk because there have been so many accomplishments, right, the Chips Act and Pact Act and the infrastructure bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, on top of that American Rescue Plan, you know, in some ways having achieved so much legislatively makes it hard to talk about all at once because there are so many accomplishments.”

Anyone who isn’t a hardcore ideologue like Buttigieg can look at America and recognize that the Biden administration has wrought more havoc on this country than any past President, including the radical anti-American Barack Obama. The Biden administration doesn’t have accomplishments, only debacles.

Buttigieg Launches $1 Billion Pilot Plan for “Racial Equity” in Roads

On June 30, 2022, Buttigieg, who had previously declared that “there is racism physically built into some of our highways,” initiated a $1 billion pilot plan — the so-called Reconnecting Communities program — to address what he saw as racial segregation created by roads in cities and neighborhoods across the United States. “Transportation can connect us to jobs, services and loved ones, but we‘ve also seen countless cases around the country where a piece of infrastructure cuts off a neighborhood or a community because of how it was built,” said Buttigieg when announcing the program in Birmingham, Alabama. “This is a forward-looking vision,” he explained. “Our focus isn’t about assigning blame. It isn’t about getting caught up in guilt. It’s about fixing a problem. It’s about mending what has been broken, especially when the damage was done with taxpayer dollars.”

Top Aide to NYC Mayor Eric Adams ADMITS Migrant Crisis is Catastrophic for the City thumbnail

Top Aide to NYC Mayor Eric Adams ADMITS Migrant Crisis is Catastrophic for the City

By Project Veritas

Project Veritas Action released a new video today exposing New York City mayor Eric Adams’ difficulties in handling the ongoing migrant crisis.

Chris Baugh, one of Adams’ top aides, was recorded discussing how delicate the situation in the city has become due to the thousands of migrants being sent up north from the U.S-Mexico border.

Here are some of the highlights from today’s video:

  • Chris Baugh, Advance Team Aide, NYC Mayor Eric Adams: “There was talk about us just limiting the number of migrants we would accept, and I’m glad we didn’t do it that way. But I still think what [Texas Governor] Abbott was doing has proven effective. Like, it’s flooded our system. We have more people in social services than we’ve ever have — potentially ever in history. So, it’s effectively demonstrating the strain.”
  • Baugh: “Frankly, I don’t know how much Biden is going to appreciate having a mayor be like, ‘Hey, you owe blue cities money because of this migrant crisis.’ Like, eventually that’s going to make Biden look bad. We’re a month out [until] midterms and he is not going to like that. It’s a very perilous situation for him and I don’t know that Eric Adams is capable enough to navigate it.”
  • Baugh: “I think the optics of this are bad for Biden and bad for the mayor, and I think Biden saying, ‘Alright, I’m just gonna give money to New York City because they can’t take care of these migrants’ is just gonna be bad politics for him.”
  • NYC Mayor’s Press Secretary Fabien Levy RESPONDS: “Time and again, Project Veritas has lied and spliced video to spin false narratives and deceive the American people. No one has any reason to believe a word from an enterprise run by a convicted criminal and one that admitted to lying in an effort to even have a conversation with a member of our team.”

You can watch the full video HERE.

In the video, Baugh acknowledges that blame falls on NYC officials if the migrant crisis isn’t resolved in the city.

“Emergency [federal] money should be going to Florida and Puerto Rico before it should be coming here [to NYC]. Ultimately, it’s us struggling to comply with our own laws. Our ‘Right to Shelter Laws’ and other stuff,” he said.

“It’s going to be the biggest test of his [Adams’] political career, which is kind of wild being that he has been in office for nine months or 10 months now…Just like, if he gets this right, like, if we can weather the surge of migrants and commit to, whatever it’s called, ‘Right to Shelter Laws’ and all of that, he is going to look like a hero. If [it] goes the other direction, Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis are going to be like, ‘The Democrats don’t practice what they preach,’ and it’s going to be a huge pitfall for him,” he said.

“So, we’ll see. Like I said, this could define his entire time in office.”

Responsibility Is the Antidote to Mental Enslavement thumbnail

Responsibility Is the Antidote to Mental Enslavement

By Foundation for Economic Education (FEE)

The cure for being stuck in victimhood is to see ourselves as responsible for making our own choices.

Over 2,000 years ago, the Stoic philosopher Seneca wrote, “Show me a man who is not a slave.” Seneca was speaking of mental enslavement: “One is a slave to lust, another to greed, another to ambition, and all men are slaves to fear.”

Epictetus, another Stoic philosopher, himself born a slave, described how one might willingly subject himself to another. In his Discourse, On Freedom he writes,

Whenever, then, you see any one subject to another, and flattering him contrary to his own opinion, confidently say that he too is not free; and not only when he does this for a supper, but even if it be for a government, nay, a consulship. Call those indeed little slaves who act thus for the sake of little things; and call the others as they deserve, great slaves.”

The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius was also a Stoic philosopher. In Meditations, he wrote, “Alexander and Caesar and Pompey. Compared with Diogenes, Heraclitus, Socrates? The philosophers knew the what, the why, the how. Their minds were their own. The others? Nothing but anxiety and enslavement.”

Conquering politicians may have ruled over millions, but they still couldn’t control their own minds.

Do privilege and wealth help one escape mental enslavement? We have only to look at all the dysfunctional behavior in Hollywood and see that money cannot buy psychological freedom.

Aurelius reproached himself: “Stop allowing your mind to be a slave, to be jerked about by selfish impulses, to kick against fate and the present, and to mistrust the future.”

How to reach beyond emotional turbulence caused by our own thinking is what the Stoic philosophers taught. Their contributions are part of the great works of humanity because they reflected on timeless themes.

Few of us have not suffered bitter setbacks, as Ryan Holiday, author of several books on Stoicism, observes:

So much of what happens is out of our control: We lose people we love. We are financially ruined by someone we trusted. We put ourselves out there, put every bit of our effort into something, and are crushed when it fails. We are drafted to fight in wars, to bear huge tax or familial burdens. We are passed over for the thing we wanted so badly. This can knock us down and hurt us. Yes.”

Each of us forms our identity around what could be called our “story of me.” In his book Question Your Life, Greg Krech observes how often these stories contain resentment. Through our stories, Krech cautions, we create our own burdens:

Wearing a garment of disappointment, resentment and anger is a great burden. It continuously weighs us down as we try to move forward in our lives… It affects our fundamental view of life. It buries us in a complaint-based lifestyle in which our attention is consistently drawn to what is going wrong and how the world fails to meet our expectations.”

In his book, Bonds That Make Us Free, philosopher C. Terry Warner asks us to reflect on this question: “Why do we embrace our miseries and preoccupy ourselves with our victimhood?”

“Experiencing other people or circumstances as having more power over our own happiness than we do,” Warner explains, is to be “stuck” in our victimhood. Warner continues, “We believe they have the ability to cause troubling feelings in us that we cannot do anything about, no matter how we try.”

When we believe other people and circumstances are responsible for how we feel and for the choices we make, we are living a lie of victimhood.

Warner asks us to reflect on times we are most troubled. The real source of our “afflicted emotions” can be found in our “self-absorption.” Warner writes, “those times when we feel most miserable, offended, or angry are invariably the occasions when we’re also most absorbed in ourselves and most anxious or suspicious or fearful, or in some other way concerned about ourselves.”

In our self-absorption, we betray our sense of right and wrong. Warner helps us recognize that our self-betrayals can occur in small ways, as in this story of a “busy man”:

A busy man driving home late at night notices the gas gauge dropping near empty. Almost imperceptibly, yet unmistakably, he feels he ought to fill the tank for his wife so she won’t have to do it the next day. But he doesn’t.”

In the mind of this busy man, an urge arose to act from his highest values, yet he did not. This is self-betrayal.

To justify his choice, the busy man may have searched his mind for “data.” Thinking of all the things he does for their household that his wife doesn’t, he may have concluded, I’m far busier than my wife; she should be keeping the tank filled for me. In his mind, he became the victim of an unsupportive wife. His wife, not he, was to blame for his failure to put gas in the car.

In this trivial example, the busy man got stuck in his thinking. Portraying himself as a victim, he undermined his relationship and a happy life.

Warner writes, “Life becomes hard to bear only when we, as self-betrayers, cast ourselves in a victim’s role by regarding others as our victimizers and nurse our misfortunes as if they were badges of honor.”

Feelings of “irritation [escalating to anger], humiliation, self-pity, resentment or frustration” come with self-betrayal. These emotions are accusatory. Warner writes, “Only people who are doing something that goes against their own sense of right and wrong have to spend time and energy spinning out a self-justifying story.”

Our self-justifying stories create resentment. Warner writes, “To take up a hard, resentful attitude toward others is to have to live in a resented world, a world full of people who oppose and threaten us. How they are in our eyes is reflective of how we are.”

Warner warns of three aspects of self-betraying conduct: “accusing others, excusing oneself, and displaying oneself as a victim. We can’t seek vigilantly for evidence that others are mistreating us, as self-betrayers do, unless we actively put ourselves in the victim’s role.”

Having chosen the role of a mistreated victim, we may also choose to feel resentful and entitled. We may see the world as unjust and owing us something. We may believe we are broken while seeing others as advantaged and privileged.

In our victimhood we believe we are not responsible, others are. And many politicians are happy to exploit our false belief.

What might one say to a man who grew up in a single-parent household in a violent inner-city neighborhood and attended a public school where he learned little and was bullied by classmates? This man may face racial discrimination. If he fathers illegitimate children with several women and is and in out of prison, is he responsible for his behavior? Is he not a victim of his circumstances?

Warner recognizes life’s trials and sees life beyond victimhood:

Though none of us is responsible for the misfortunes that befall us, we are, thankfully, responsible for how we use those misfortunes. We cannot alter past events, it’s true. Not having been responsible for them, we cannot take responsibility for them. But we are responsible for the effect they have upon us—for the meaning we assign to them and the way we remember them. And we can learn and grow from them.”

Marcus Aurelius put it this way in his Meditations: “It can ruin your life only if it ruins your character. Otherwise, it cannot harm you—inside or out.”

Warner acknowledges that one may be called “uncharitable” for holding the view that we are responsible for what we make of our lives. Yet, to say a person is not responsible “says, ‘You can’t!’ rather than ‘You can!’” Warner reflects on what it means to believe that a person is not responsible:

Although those who hold this view think they’re being compassionate and kind, they are only being indulgent. Indulgence is a punitive counterfeit of charity. It extends no hope at all for freeing ourselves of our emotional troubles. It takes the position that we are stuck with being the deficient vessels we think we are and are doomed to cope with our lot as best we can.”

Genuine compassion, seeing in all people the ability to take responsibility, is hopeful. Warner writes, “It is because we are responsible for whatever we have become that there is hope for us to change fundamentally. True compassion can be found only in extending this hope to others, never in denying it to them.”

Look around, Warner asks, “Have you known people who seem to have made a lifestyle out of amplifying their victimhood?” Don’t stop with seeing the choice for victimhood in others. Warner asks, “Do you see any of this tendency in yourself?”

The cure for being stuck in victimhood is to see ourselves as responsible for making our own choices.

‘From Hezbollah’: Bill Maher Calls Out Omar, Tlaib Over Antisemitic Comments

By Jihad Watch

“Ten years ago, I’d have thought that would be from Hezbollah. That’s an American congressperson.” — Bill Maher

Amid all the excitement about Kanye West, a reminder of a major source of antisemitism that the Left pretends doesn’t exist.

‘From Hezbollah’: Bill Maher Calls Out Omar, Tlaib Over Antisemitic Comments

by Harold Hutchison, Daily Caller, October 15, 2022:

HBO host Bill Maher called out Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan Friday night over antisemitic comments they posted on social media….

“Here’s one, ‘Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,’” Maher said, while not explicitly naming Omar as the author of the 2012 tweet that is now deleted. “Ten years ago, if you read that to me, I’d have thought that would be from Hezbollah. That’s an American congressperson.”

Maher then read a post on Twitter where Tlaib invoked apartheid when discussing the Israeli government.

“Another American congressperson says, ‘The reality of Israel’s apartheid government,’ goes on to say, ‘the occupation and ethnic cleansing Palestinians [must] live with every day,’” Maher read, before moving on to a second tweet by Tlaib that accused Israel of deliberately targeting journalists….

China’s Control of America – Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow thumbnail

China’s Control of America – Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

By Senior Voice America

In the “Cold War” of the 1950’s – 1980’s, our enemy was the former Soviet Union. We Americans were united in a common purpose to defeat them.

However, today most Americans are ignorant of who is the “Enemy(s).” They don’t understand that we are simultaneously fighting against several enemies in two wars:

  1. the “War to Transformation America”; and
  2. the “War to Create of a New World Order” under Marxist control. These two wars involve “Declarations of War” from six different enemies:

Yes, “Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is at War with America”;

Yes, “The Great Reset is at War with `America”;

Yes, “George Soros and his ‘Dark Money’ Patrons are at War with America”;

Yes, “The Blame America First Crowd is at War with America”;

Yes, “Islamic Supremacists are at War with America”; and

Yes, “Iran is at War with America”.

The Great Reset is the “Organizational Structure” through which China and the WEF will implement;

  1. their transformation of the America; and
  2. the Take Over of the World. China’s surrogates: UN; WHO; IMF; WTO; World Bank; and Settlements Bank.

“Know the Enemy”

In the 5th Century BC, Chinese General Sun Tzu wrote “The Art of War”. He stated,

“In days of old, the ‘Wise Generals’ insured themselves against defeat and waited for the enemy to defeat themselves.” Likewise, General Sun Tzu has proclaimed; “It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; If you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; If you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.”

These two proclamations by General Sun Tzu reveal that: 1) the leaders of our enemies have a much better understanding of what America is, and how they will proceed in “War” against us, than do our leaders about our enemies; and 2) the leaders in America have the propensity to put their self-interests first, rather than

“America First.”

The leaders of CCP; the leaders of Islamic Supremacy; and the leaders of “The Blame America First” crowd; each has their respective multi-decade strategic plans for world success. In the case of China and the Islamic Supremacists, their plans are “100-year Plans” compared to the “4-year election cycle” which determines the focus of US officials.

The leaders of our six enemies don’t worry about world-wide public opinion because they have already incorporated these ant-America philosophies into their strategies. America’s leaders focus on their own gains. They frequently “Re-think,” and even “Undo”, the decisions of their predecessors; Rather than making decisions consistent with America’s long-term goals and the best information.

The World Economic Forum

Recall, in the September issue of SVA newspaper, we stated that the principals of “The Great Reset” had their nexus in the early 1970’s with Dr. Karl Schwab, a professor at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Schwab, an engineer and an economist by training, published his first book, “Modern Enterprise ” Management in Mechanical Engineering” in which he presented the concepts and policies of “public-private partnerships.

In 1971, Schwab created of the European Management Forum (EMF). He invited approximate 450 political, business, and financial leaders to his first conference.

In 1987, Schwab changed its name to World Economic Forum (WEF), so as … “to broaden its vision and to include a platform for defining opportunities for world-wide governance and for developing international compliance and control.”

At the 2014 annual meeting of the WEF, using Richard Florida’s book The Great Reset, Schwab declared, “What we want to do in…Davos this year . . . is to push the reset button.”

“Subsequently, the image of a reset button would appear on the WEF’s website.”

NOTE: Recognition to Michael Rectenwald, Chief Academic Officer, American Scholars: What Is the Great Reset?, published December 2021 and in his talk delivered at Hillsdale College during the Center for Constructive Alternatives; November 7, 2021

The Great Reset

Recall, in addition to The Great Reset being promoted as a response to COVID, it has also been promoted as a response to “climate change.” In 2017, the WEF published a paper entitled: We Need to Reset the Global Operating System to Achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”

On June 13, 2019, the WEF signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” with the United Nations to form a partnership to advance the “UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

Shortly after that, the WEF published the United Nations-World Economic Forum Strategic Partnership Framework for the 2030 Agenda, promising to help finance the UN’s climate change agenda and committing the WEF to help the UN … “meet the needs of the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution,’ including providing assets and expertise for digital governance.”

In June 2020, at its 50th annual meeting, the WEF announced the official launch of The Great Reset. A month later Karl Schwab and Thierry Malleret published their book COVID-19: The Great Reset. The book declared that:

  1. COVID-19 represents an “opportunity [which] can be seized”;
  2. That “we should take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity to re-imagine our world”;
  3. That “the moment must be seized to take advantage of this unique window of opportunity”; and
  4. That “for those fortunate enough to find themselves in industries ‘naturally’ resilient to the pandemic” (i.e.. Big Tech companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, and Amazon), “the crisis will not only be more bearable, but even a source of profitable opportunities at a time of distress for the majority.”

Ivermectin Still Getting a Bum Rap thumbnail

Ivermectin Still Getting a Bum Rap

By The Daily Skirmish – Liberato.US

COVID may be old news, but I can’t let this one pass.  I heard an NPR host claim on Saturday ivermectin does not work as a treatment for COVID.  I couldn’t find the show when I looked online, and it may be that it was a re-airing of an old show.  But here are the facts about ivermectin, according to a study aggregator site:

Out of 92 studies of 134,000 patients in 27 countries comparing treatment and control groups, the use of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID resulted in statistically significant improvement in mortality, ventilation, ICU, hospitalization, recovery, cases, and viral clearance.  Ivermectin is effective in preventing COVID on average 83 percent of the time, early treatment 62 percent of the time, and late treatment 43 percent of the time.  Improvement was shown in 53 percent of randomized controlled trials.  51 percent lower mortality was shown in 47 studies.  “Ivermectin was adopted for early treatment in all or part of 22 countries,” the site says.

So, ivermectin is not a wonder drug.  It doesn’t work perfectly or all the time.  Nothing does.  But ivermectin cuts mortality in half and has been proven beneficial in a variety of circumstances.  So anyone, like the NPR host, who claims ivermectin doesn’t work, is just plain wrong.  Yet, the government recommended against the use of ivermectin, and its willing accomplices in social media companies and the press piled on, refusing to follow the science.  Major medical journals refused to publish positive study results.  They ignored the evidence and published designed-to-fail studies with negative results, instead.  Lesser journals were pressured to retract favorable articles they ran.

But all these conspirators couldn’t suppress the truth entirely.  A doctors group sued the FDA in June for disparaging the use of ivermectin for COVID and for interfering with doctors’ ability to treat the disease according to their own professional judgment.  They warned the FDA will go right on overriding the professional judgment of doctors unless the FDA is stopped in its tracks now.

Missouri passed a law preventing state licensing boards from punishing doctors who prescribe ivermectin for COVID.  The same result was obtained in Oklahoma through an order of the state’s Attorney General.  Legislators in New Hampshire passed a bill to allow over-the-counter use of ivermectin, but the Governor successfully vetoed it.

You can add to all this the fact that the government spent a billion dollars to have media outlets like CNN and the Washington Post spread the government’s phony COVID narratives.  So all we got with ivermectin, as with all the other things I told you about last week, is government by phony narrative.  Maybe there’s just too much money in more expensive COVID treatments to expect government agencies to do the right thing and resist being captured by the drug companies.  I’ll leave the speculation to others.  But one thing is clear: the government is lying to you about ivermectin, and its lapdogs at NPR and elsewhere in the press are helping them do it.  As has been said many times, government is not the solution; it’s the problem.

Why So Many Elites Can’t Stand Elon Musk thumbnail

Why So Many Elites Can’t Stand Elon Musk

By Foundation for Economic Education (FEE)

Musk’s plebeian sense of humor is a big part of why the establishment can’t stand him.

Elon Musk’s Twitter-acquisition saga saw new developments last week as Musk reaffirmed his original offer to buy the company for $54.20 per share, a price that puts the company’s value at a whopping $44 billion. After the original deal was settled in April, Musk tried to back out in July, alleging Twitter was misrepresenting the number of bots on its platform. Twitter sued Musk to force him to go through with the purchase, and the two sides were set to go to trial on October 17.

That trial now won’t be necessary, it seems, as Musk is basically giving Twitter the price he had pledged. Twitter’s share price spiked 22 percent on the news, and many now have a renewed optimism (or fear) that Musk will in fact go through with the purchase and eventually bring less restrictive content-moderation policies to the platform.

The $54.20 figure is notable for two reasons. First, it’s a fair bit higher than what Twitter stock was trading for at the time of the original offer (about $40/share). Second, in a classic Musk move, it seems to be a 4/20 reference.

Though Musk hasn’t confirmed the reference to my knowledge, it’s hard to believe he just happened to land on that kind of number by accident.

Aside from being funny, there’s almost a sense of mockery in this move. By inserting this kind of number into official documents—and, by extension, major headlines—it’s like he’s poking fun at the clown world Twitter has become. His message to the Twitter executives is not “pretty please sell me your company.” The message is more like “this whole thing is a joke to me, lol.”

This isn’t the first time Musk has brought his playful, irreverent, meme-culture spirit to the market. A few years ago he launched his car into space because he thought it would be amusing, and some of his companies now accept Dogecoin as payment.

Musk in general seems rather fun, relatable, and laid back. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, and that’s probably a big part of why people like him.

Another reason he’s so likable is that he doesn’t mind poking fun at politicians, executives, and other “blue-check” elites. To the contrary, he seems to enjoy it.

Examples of Musk mocking the elites abound.

Musk’s low-key, informal demeanor stands out in part because it’s so unexpected for someone of such high status. In a sense, Musk is almost a foil to the typical elites. His blatant informality highlights the rigid seriousness that often characterizes the rich and powerful.

Elites tend to fancy themselves as the guardians of professionalism and decorum, etiquette and political correctness. They can have fun, to an extent, but memes and potentially-offensive jokes are beneath them. Even simply fooling around is frowned upon.

As a personal matter this standard doesn’t present much of a problem, but it is a rare elite who considers this a merely personal matter. In the eyes of most elites, everyone should abide by high standards of political correctness or else be forced to leave the conversation.

This is the foundation of the censorship problem we are seeing on social media and in the broader culture. Superficially it’s about free speech vs. content moderation. But at its core it’s a battle between those who take the establishment and its morals seriously and those who don’t. There are the elites who insist we be “respectful” toward others, and there are the Elon Musk’s who are fine to just let things be.

Comedians have been especially hard hit by this “high-minded” censorship, and it’s no wonder why. Think about what comedians do. They mock people. Sometimes, they even offend people. They say what everyone’s thinking but no one is allowed to say. They intentionally flirt with the line of political correctness, because that’s what makes them funny.

“There has to be a spontaneity and a daring,” says Jordan Peterson, “so they’re always testing the limits of what’s acceptable in speech, and they’re almost always doing it in a way that points to uncomfortable truths of one form or another. Things that people won’t admit. Things that we keep hidden in the dark. The foibles of our leaders. Anything that’s there but makes people too uncomfortable to talk about, that’s exactly what a comedian hones in on.”

“That’s part of what’s worrisome about the state of discourse in the free West,” Peterson says in a different conversation. “Comedians won’t go to university campuses. You don’t get to be funny. And if you can’t be funny then you’re not free. The jester in the king’s court is the only person who gets to tell the truth. And if the king is such a tyrant that he kills his jester then you know that the evil king is in charge. And so when we can’t tolerate our comedians it’s like well there you go. They’re the canaries in the coal mine as far as I’m concerned.”

The question then becomes, how do we combat the insistence on political correctness? How do we push back when moral busybodies insert themselves in matters that are none of their business?

At first, it’s tempting to meet them on their own terms, to politely and logically state our case and request that they leave us alone. And sometimes that can be the right move. But often, a much more effective approach is to do what Elon Musk is doing: become the fool.

Rather than taking the elites seriously, the fool uses wit, humor, and satire to highlight how ridiculous the elites have become. He employs clever mockery and a tactful mischievousness to call the authority of the elites into question. When done well, this approach can be brilliantly effective. There’s a reason joking about politicians was banned in the Soviet Union.

Liberals aren’t worried that they’ll be censored on Twitter. They’re worried that their ideas will be debated.

— Thomas Massie (@RepThomasMassie) April 30, 2022

The story of the Weasley twins and Professor Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is one of my favorite examples of how mischievousness and mockery can be used to expose and embarrass those who take things too seriously. As you probably know, Umbridge was committed to formality and order, and she imposed stringent limits on fun and games. Now, the Weasley twins—the jesters of Hogwarts, as it were—could have responded with vitriol. They could have written angry letters, signed a petition, and gone through all the proper channels to get her removed. But instead, they threw a party in the middle of exams, making a complete mockery of her seriousness. They gave her the one thing she couldn’t stand: fun. And wasn’t that way more powerful?

If I had to guess, Musk’s plebeian sense of humor is probably a big part of why the establishment can’t stand him. They don’t mind someone who challenges them through the proper channels and in a respectful manner—that’s actually playing into their hand, because it concedes they are deserving of respect in the first place. What they can’t stand is being taken lightly, being teased and ridiculed and ultimately ignored.

Why can’t they stand that? Because our reverence for the elites is actually the source of their power. They win as long as we take them seriously. They lose the moment we don’t.

Biden Executive Edict Allows Spying on Americans to Assess ‘Political Instability’ thumbnail

Biden Executive Edict Allows Spying on Americans to Assess ‘Political Instability’

By The Geller Report

“Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.” ― Ronald Reagan

Where the hell is the spineless, gutless GOP? Americans have NO representation despite paying punishing, obscene taxes. Even the protection rackets offered protection. Here we are paying for our own demise.

Biden executive order allows spying on Americans to assess ‘political instability,’ climate ‘threats’

The executive order provides a kind of legal ‘backdoor’ to surveillance of Americans under extremely broad pretexts.

(Life Site News) – President Joe Biden issued an executive order (EO) that allows the government to spy on Americans for broadly defined reasons including understanding “public health risks,” “political instability,” and the “threat” of climate change.

The October 7 EO is ostensibly written to “enhanc[e] safeguards” for “United States Signals Intelligence Activities,” which is intelligence gathering by the interception of signals, including communications, such as through cell phones, or those not used in communication.

An accompanying fact sheet explains that the EO is meant to help “implement the U.S. commitments under the European Union-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF)” in an effort to “restore trust and stability” to transatlantic data flows. Thus, both Europeans and Americans are subject to the EO’s provisions.

The EO attempts to allay civil liberties concerns by explicitly prohibiting signals intelligence collection for the purposes of “suppressing or burdening criticism or dissent,” for example. However, the stated “legitimate objectives” of such signals intelligence collection opens the door to an extremely broad array of permitted reasons for interception — in other words, spying — by the U.S. government.

Alongside permitting spying for the purposes of sizing up the capabilities of foreign entities, the EO permits signals intelligence collection for “understanding or assessing transnational threats that impact global security, including climate and other ecological change, public health risks, humanitarian threats, political instability, and geographic rivalry.”

The document’s lack of elaboration on such so-called “transnational threats” raises the question of the true scope of activity now officially subject to spying by the U.S. government, which is potentially massive.

Assessing the “threat” of climate change, for example, could theoretically include collecting satellite signals to track the car travel of Americans and Europeans since car emissions are considered by climate activists to be one of the top sources of greenhouse gases.

The document’s wording also raises the question of what kind of activities are considered a threat to “political stability,” since Biden has declared that “MAGA Republicans” “represent an extremism and a threat to the very foundations of our republic,” and claimed that they “do not respect the rule of law.”

He suggested such “extremism” is constituted by conservative beliefs in the right to life from the moment of conception, and in traditional marriage, declaring that “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards … to an America where there is no right to choose … no right to marry who you love.”

“Understanding and assessing” a “public health risk” could also potentially entail tracking a wide range of information, including travel patterns and social activities, shopping habits, and genetic information such as that disclosed by the DNA testing service 23andMe.

Myths About Abortion thumbnail

Myths About Abortion

By Jerry Newcombe

The Dobbs Supreme Court decision in June which overturned Roe v. Wade, notes Ob-gyn, Ingrid Skop, “has sent abortion advocates and their allies in the media scurrying to strike fear into the hearts of women.”  Just last Tuesday (10/4/22), the White House held a meeting to see how they could further promote abortion in America.

But much of the abortion debate essentially centers around eight key myths about the abortion procedure:

1. Myth: The Dobbs case will cause women to die for lack of abortions.

I spoke with the above-mentioned Dr. Skop on a radio segment. She has delivered more than 5,000 babies and serves as a senior fellow and director of medical affairs at Charlotte Lozier Institute, a pro-life organization. She wrote an op-ed exploding this myth.

Says Dr. Skop: “An ectopic pregnancy happens when an embryo implants outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube, and the fetus has no chance of survival to a live birth….As soon as it’s diagnosed, physicians will treat an ectopic pregnancy because the mother’s life is at risk, a routine obstetric procedure that is not jeopardized by Dobbs. This is lifesaving medical care. It is not an elective abortion.”

2. Myth: Abortion does not kill a human being.

Recently, Whoopi Goldberg said that abortion is needed to remove that “toxic thing” inside

women. But we were all once that “toxic thing.” How dehumanizing. Similarly, one abortion clinic nurse said that the unborn babies are just “pieces of goo.”

But Carol Everett disagrees. She’s a former abortion worker (and part owner of some abortion facilities). She once told me, “In the front counseling room, the young woman is asking, ‘Is it a baby?’ And she’s being told, ‘No.’ But in the back, every single baby, as early as it can be done, has to be put back together—the arms, legs, hands, feet, the head, and the spine—to be sure it’s all there. It is a baby.” (Anything left inside can cause an infection.)

3. Myth: Life begins when a baby is born.

Danielle D’Souza Gill, the daughter of Dinesh D’Souza, wrote a book in 2020, entitled, The Choice: The Abortion Divide in America.

She addresses this and other myths in a radio segment she did with me: “They always act as if ‘poof’—the baby has exited the womb. Now it’s a person. And that really makes no sense because moments before it’s born versus moments after it’s born, really make no difference. We’re really just talking about a matter of location.”

4. Myth: Even if it’s technically a human life, the fetus doesn’t feel anything or know what’s happening anyway.

Gill explodes this canard: “The baby in the womb actually has more consciousness, more brain waves than a comatose person.…It does feel pain and releases cortisone and the same stress hormones we release, even in the first trimester, when it’s under duress, when we’re trying to abort it.”

5. Myth: Abortion is a safe and simple procedure.

Gill answers: “First of all, we have to ask: For whom? Obviously, it’s not safe for the child….They like to act as if it’s an everyday nothing—like removing a polyp. But in reality, your body is going to fight back against that because the woman’s body is designed to protect that life and protect that fetus.”

6. Myth: Abortion is necessary in order for women to fully control their own bodies.

Gill responds: “They like to say, ‘My body, my choice.’ And I would say to them, ‘Sure, you can do whatever you want with your body, but we’re talking about another human’s body. It’s another human’s body that you’re trying to mutilate. And it’s another person’s heartbeat you’re stopping.”

7. Myth: We must have legal abortions because of rape and incest (leaving people with the impression they comprise most abortions).

Dr. Chuck Donovan, president of the above-mentioned Charlotte Lozier Institute, says the data shows that abortions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother comprise less than 1% of all abortions.

8. Myth: The mother has no option but to give birth and keep her baby.

Donovan told me in a radio interview that safe harbor/safe haven laws exist in one form or another in all 50 states and in the District of Columbia. Within 30 days of delivering a baby, that baby can be brought over in a box or basket to a local fire department or police department and be dropped off, no questions asked, no charges filed.

The Declaration of Independence says our rights come from the Creator and the first of these is the right to life. After a half-century of the abortion ethic, we have a lot of lost ground cherishing that right. Exploding myths that promote abortion is a step in the right direction.

Elie Mystal: GOP ‘Policies Attract the Worst People Possible’

By Discover The Networks

Tuesday on CNN’s The LeadThe Nation’s racist “senior justice correspondent” (read: race agitator) Elie Mystal said he believed Republican “policies attract the worst people possible.”

Network political commentator S.E. Cupp ranted, “Because people like Kanye West occasionally say things that seem adjacent to the right-wing political agenda, they are completely willing to exploit him and, yes, even defend rank anti-Semitism. Because Tommy Tuberville is standing at a Trump rally and saying the right things and naming the right enemies, Republicans are fine with his naked racism. Herschel Walker is an obvious hypocrite, obvious. Whatever you think about abortion and I don’t like abortion, he’s an obvious hypocrite, and that doesn’t matter. It is because Republicans have decided politics is more important than decency, honesty, conviction, integrity, any of these things. None of it matters, even if you’re antisemitic, racist or a hypocrite.”

That’s not political commentary; that’s just hate-mongering and demonizing your opponent.

Mystal said, “Is this where I get to say I told you all so? This has been their party for a long time. At some point Republicans need to look to themselves, look at the kinds of policies they’re promoting, look at the way they want the country to be and ask why do our policies attract the worst people possible? Like they have to ask that question at some point to move forward from what has happened to their party.”

Again — that’s not political commentary. In addition to being Democrat projection, it’s just hate propaganda.

Depicting America’s Founding Fathers As “Racist, Misogynist Jerkfaces”

On May 2, 2022, Politico reported that an unidentified individual had leaked an initial draft majority opinion, written by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, in which the Court had decided to strike down the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. The following night on MSNBC, Mystal told Joy Reid: “Alito’s fundamental reasoning is that abortion is not a fundamental right because it doesn’t go back to the Founding, because the Founding Fathers didn’t recognize abortion as a fundamental right. He’s right about that. The Founding Fathers didn’t recognize abortion as a fundamental right because the Founding Fathers were racist, misogynist jerkfaces who didn’t believe that women had any rights at all. So, of course, they didn’t believe that women had rights to their own bodies. The Founding Fathers didn’t believe that marital rape was a thing! Couldn’t be a thing, according to the Founding Fathers, according to Sam Alito, so that’s the history that Sam Alito is accessing.”

The Premeditated Murder of the American Family thumbnail

The Premeditated Murder of the American Family

By Joan Swirsky

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE THERE”

In 1959, I was 18, newly married to my former boyfriend of four years, and thrilled to be starting my “grown-up” life with the man of my dreams. Little did my then-apolitical self know that the close of that halcyon decade had been preceded by nearly a century of a concerted effort to destroy the American family, an effort fueled by the same fanatical Communist zealots who now occupy the Oval Office of the United States of America!

Now why would anyone––much less a huge number of people––want to destroy the greatest and most successful experiment in government in world history, one which President Abraham Lincoln described as “of the people, by the people, for the people,” the Democratic Republic of the United States of America?

Simply, because it flew in the face of every political system that previously existed––monarchies, dictatorships, oligarchies, aristocracies, totalitarianism, communism, socialism––systems in which the immense power and abuse-of-power that these regimes exercised would be vanquished if replaced by the Power of the People that the Founding Fathers of America envisioned.

The mission of those other regimes was never ever about concern for their populaces; rather it was––and is today––purely about the acquisition and maintenance of power and control and especially the immense wealth that comes with both power and control. Always, always, always follow the money!

HOW CAN WE DESTROY AMERICA?

The enemies of America thought long and hard about how to destroy this fledgling experiment. It was clear to them that America’s strength was a function of three phenomena:

  • A fervent belief in the God who makes miracles happen, for just one example the crushing defeat of the thunderously powerful English Empire’s armies by blazing patriots like General George Washington and his ragtag army of American heroes.
  • An equally ardent belief in and passion for the concept of Freedom. Men who knew they were going to die, and their wives who believed their deaths were for the noble cause of freedom, all sacrificed to bring about our victory over the monarchy that wanted to continue to rule us.
  • The most passionate was the embrace, belief, and allegiance to family, its sanctity, its strength, its ability to weather all storms and overcome all obstacles.

If we destroy all three, our enemies reasoned, the masses they considered essentially stupid would be forced to rely exclusively on Big Government. And so, to this day, the socialists-cum-communists among us are employing––as their predecessors did–– every malevolent, criminal, and vicious tactic they can muster to actualize that goal.

ASTOUNDING PROGRESS

The America haters among us have already:

Still, the family remains their most desired––yet maddeningly elusive––target.

HELP ALONG THE WAY

That effort was generously helped––perhaps, at first, innocently––by the theories of Sigmund Freud (1836-1939), the Austrian neurologist-cum-psychiatrist who was wildly successful in convincing the relatively new and free-thinking American public that the genesis of neuroses, phobias, anxieties, obsessions, depression, psychosis, and general psychological malfunction not only took place in the first few years of life, but that the mothers who raised these suffering children were primarily to blame. Later therapists, like the sadistic psychiatrist Bruno Bettelheim, blamed mothers for their children’s autism.

Mission #1 Accomplished: Mothers are not good for children.

These psychological theories prevailed throughout the 20th century and up to today, embraced by generations of psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, and psychotherapists until 1998 when they were thoroughly debunked by Judith Rich Harris in The Nurture Assumption, where the Harvard-educated psychologist and editor of most of the psychology texts used in colleges and medical schools in America argued persuasively that a person’s peer group is the major influence of thought, feelings, and behavior throughout life.

THE NEXT STEP

In 1960, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the most world-changing medication in history, developed by Dr. John Rock, a Harvard professor and obstetrician-gynecologist with five children––along with Drs. Gregory Pincus, C.M. Phang, and Selzo Garcia. Their creation was the birth-control pill, aka The Pill! For the first time in world history, women had control over their reproduction.

For millions of women, it was their own Declaration of Independence, and a huge relief not to have to worry every month about getting pregnant.

Mission #2 Accomplished: Now we can be just like men, some women reasoned, and have as much sex as we want without worrying about getting pregnant. Thus was the Free Sex movement born and a complete redefinition of traditional morality.

GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!

Three years after The Pill, in 1963, a book by Betty Friedan, a housewife with three children, shot to the top of every bestseller list. In essence, The Feminine Mystique told women that they were simply too smart, too creative, too intrinsically or at least potentially powerful to be spending their time, actually wasting their time changing diapers, folding laundry, and—the most colossal waste of time of all––raising children.

Nevertheless, Friedan’s book resonated with multimillions of women who had lived through the peaceful ‘50s and been spared the suffering and sacrifice of their mothers and grandmothers who had lived through the Great Depression in 1929, planted Victory Gardens during World Wars I and II, joined Rosie the Riveter in working in factories and shipyards to help the WWII war effort, lost husbands and sons to war, often raised children on their own, yet kept their families intact. The list of their arduous and valorous deeds goes on and on.

But that was then, the young women of the ‘60’s believed…this is now. Look what we have already accomplished! After that stodgy old Republican President (and former General) Dwight D. Eisenhower, we elected the dashing Democrat John F. Kennedy, with his glamorous wife Jackie and their two adorable children––all who ushered in the age of politics on “live” TV.

Mission #3 Accomplished: Multimillions of young women abandoned the once-desired goal of early marriage and motherhood and instead enrolled in colleges and universities where they pursued professional careers ranging from medicine and law and architecture to jobs like telephone linewomen to military combatants to firefighters to hedge fund managers to business executives, et al.

Coincidentally, ahem, an economy that once allowed men to work outside of the home and support a wife and children magically became an economy that only two working parents could afford. Kind of like an economy that was completely energy independent in 2020 quite magically became one in which the President of the United States had to beg foreign countries to sell him oil in 2021.

REALITY SETS IN

But the ‘60s also ushered in the historically unprecedented rash of violent assassinations––live on TV––of:

  • U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963 (age 46),
  • Firebrand Black activist Malcolm X in 1965 (age 39),
  • Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 (age 39),
  • Former Attorney General and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy in 1968 (age 42).

All of a sudden, the idealized world of the newly emancipated women was shattered. The world is out of control, they realized. Is it any wonder that so many of them enthusiastically embraced (or attended) the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, with not only free sex but a geyser of drugs for the smoking and snorting and injecting?

Mission #4 Accomplished: Many of these college-educated women congratulated themselves on avoiding marriage and especially motherhood, asking themselves: “Who wants to bring a child into this world?”

ONLY A FEW YEARS LATER

In 1971, Gloria Steinem––“We are becoming the men we wanted to marry” ––founded the first national feminist magazine, Ms., along with founding editor Letty Cottin Pogrebin and others.

Its message, as Pogrebin said on TV, was to spare women the dire fate of talking to their friends about laundry detergents. This and other angry feminist messages inspired an entire generation of women to use The Pill, defer marriage, go to college, pursue careers, and not even contemplate marriage or motherhood until their early- or mid-thirties, when their biological clocks started ticking quite loudly.

Mission #5 Accomplished: The traditional nuclear family was being dismantled by a new generation of women who bought into the notion that making money was infinitely more satisfying, meaningful, and important than raising children.

MARRIAGE OUT—NOW BABIES OUT!

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7–2 decision in Roe v. Wade that all women had a “right” to an abortion. To this day, that decision is the Holy Grail of millions of women who believe that “my body, my choice” starts after they’ve had unprotected sex and gotten pregnant with a baby they don’t want.

In 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and sent the decision for abortion back to each individual state. Today, every woman in the United States who wants an abortion can get an abortion, although some may have to endure the inconvenience of traveling to another state…forget about the inconvenience their embryos face of a death sentence!

Mission #6 Accomplished: The once-most-cherished accomplishment of both men and women—to be the parent of a newborn baby––was effectively reduced to ending that baby’s life in utero. And today, in some states, abortion exists right up to the moment a full-term baby is delivered, and, believe it or not, in California, even up to the time a healthy thriving baby is 28 days old!

THE TICKING CLOCK

But uh-oh. After graduating from college and laboring in the workforce for over a decade, millions of women realized that this money-making thing wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. But looking for a good man––after stepping on their necks on the way up the ladder––was even more problematic.

Nevertheless, the new social phenomenon of women marrying in their mid-thirties and older took hold, and not coincidentally gave rise to a booming in-vitro-fertilization industry, as millions of these new brides learned that conceiving and carrying a child after the age of 35 was both a “high-risk” and extremely pricey enterprise.

Mission #7 Accomplished: Take the joy out of intimacy and sex, make it a mechanical act, and further erode both marriage and the family at the same time.

BUT WHAT ABOUT MY CAREER?

The modern women had been told by the influencers of the day that they could “have it all” –– marriage, children, and career. Since they wanted it all, they bought it!

Some women were lucky to have their mothers or mothers-in-law or even young grandmothers volunteer to raise their children, and a rare few could afford expensive nannies.

But most women had to rely on another industry that boomed like no other––the daycare business––where mothers dropped off their infants, babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to caregivers who tended up to 20 or more children at a time. This meant that for the entire day, paid workers made sure that those children were safe and fed, but not necessarily held, loved, comforted, taught, or nurtured.

However, this still allowed the mothers of these infants, babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to brag that the hour or so they spent with their child at the end of a day––in which both mother and child were exhausted––was, ahem, “quality time.”

In addition, these “older” mothers, already guilty about the protracted hours away from their children, strove to be “friends” with their kids, praising them for, um, waking up in the morning, even smoking pot with them, and, in essence, abandoning the traditional role of the parent who teaches right and wrong, good and bad, proper behavior, et al.

Mission #8 Accomplished: Women out of the home, children being raised by strangers, the American family being dismantled piece by piece.

THE GENIUS STEVE FACTOR

Two geniuses…Steve Case, the founding CEO of America Online (AOL) in 1983 (which really took off in the ‘90s), and Steve Jobs, who invented, created, introduced the iPhone in 2007 and the iPad in 2010.

No need to elaborate on the degree to which these geniuses totally eliminated face-to-face communication and succeeded in riveting both parents and children to all the tantalizing distractions on these electronic devices that separate people and depersonalize intimate relationships, especially meaningful communication between parents and children.

Mission #9 Accomplished: Family concerns take a backseat to beeping texts, sexy emojis, Facebook invitations, Instagram images, Hollywood gossip, and horrifically graphic porn sites, which even savvy eight-year-olds can access with ease.

Worse, this has given rise to an entire generation of sociopaths who, understandably, have little or no human empathy, given the largely robotic care they received, combined with their toxic schooling and intimate “relationships” with their electronic devices.

Also, a remarkably fragile generation. When parents fear that “everything children see, do, eat, hear, and lick could hurt them,” write Lenore Skenazy and Jonathan Haidt in “The Fragile Generation,” children are left “more fragile, more easily offended, and more reliant on others.” Safe spaces, anyone?

EMBOLDENED PSYCHOPATHS

With all this success, it is no wonder that the lunatics who are running the insane asylum that is America today have inflicted their warped vision of the world on a tremendous number of people, thanks largely to a corrupt leftist media who are literally paid––see Media Whores––to carry these sick messages 24/7.

Men can have babies, they say. Well, of course, it you’re a woman who thinks she’s a man and decides to “transition” and undergo a double mastectomy and take testosterone injections but keeps her ovaries and uterus and Fallopian tubes and then is artificially inseminated and conceives and carries a baby, all the time proclaiming her maleness, he/she must think we’re all like recent Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who when asked to define a woman said she couldn’t because “I am not a biologist.” Right.

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE THERE”

And now we have an ad––since removed and eliminated from every search engine––that shows a child laughing and sharing an experience with her clearly delighted mother. Both are on iPads communicating long distance. The ad ends with a voice telling the mother: “You Don’t Have to Be There.”

Right. The mother doesn’t have to be there to raise and love and comfort and teach and tuck her child in at night, and the father doesn’t have to be there, either. Only Big Government should raise their child to be a good little obedient Communist. That’s the message!

Mission #10 Accomplished: Father never mentioned, mother out of the picture, the actual premeditated murder of the American family.

I rest my case.

It’s Time to Talk Turkey About Race—Part 2 thumbnail

It’s Time to Talk Turkey About Race—Part 2

By The Daily Skirmish – Liberato.US

Today, I continue deconstructing the Left’s phony diversity narrative.  But first, two bits of astounding news about things I told you yesterday.

Democrat Nury Martinez apologized for racist remarks and resigned her post as president of the Los Angeles City Council, but retained her council seat.  Martinez, who is Hispanic, was recorded referring to a black kid as a ‘monkey’ and making other racist comments.  But if, as we’re told, black and brown people can’t be racist, why did she apologize and resign?  Why didn’t she defend herself and tell us she can’t be racist because she’s brown?  Because the diversity narrative is as phony as a three-dollar bill and everybody knows it, that’s why.

I also told you yesterday about Kamala Harris saying hurricane relief should be made on the basis of skin color, not need, a blatant violation of the Equal Protection Clause.  Well, it turns out, FEMA was doing exactly that after Hurricane Ian devastated parts of Florida.  FEMA apportions relief money partly on the basis of “social vulnerability” on the theory that minorities suffer more from natural disasters. Including crazy rich Asians, according to FEMA.  Racial discrimination is baked into FEMA policy.  It’s part of the Biden administration’s requirement that every federal agency come up with a redistribution – oops, ‘equity’ – plan.  The justification?  The historical denial of opportunity for minorities to participate in the economic life of the nation.  Tell it to Oprah Winfrey and LeBron James, billionaires both.  The bottom line: “big chunks of federal money” are flowing out of the Treasury based on skin color.  This is not some sideshow – “At FEMA, we strive to place equity at the center of our efforts…,” a FEMA official said.  A Treasury Department official said the same thing, recently – put race at the center.   All of this is blatantly unconstitutional, offending as it does the Equal Protection Clause that has served our nation well.  If you’re a thinking person, let me know when you think redistribution and the historical guilt trip are supposed to end.

Here are some other things that are wrong with the Left’s phony diversity narrative:

It relies on distortions of history.  The latest example is Don Lemon asking a British guest if the crown should pay reparations for colonialism and slavery.  But the guest pointed out the inconvenient facts slavery existed on the African continent carried on by Africans and the British were an early force in shutting down the slave trade, being the first nation to outlaw slavery on its soil.  If reparations are to be paid, they should come from the descendants of the African slave-traders who rounded up their own people, handcuffed them in cages, and brought them to the beach to be sold and put on ships.  People looking for black pride need to look elsewhere, not distorted and fictionalized accounts of history.

The diversity narrative is thinly disguised revenge and leads to race hatred.  An arts festival in Portland let blacks in for free and charged everybody else $80.  The Institute putting on the event gets government grants.  So I object.  This is enough state action to invoke the Equal Protection Clause.  As for race hatred, Democrat South Carolina State Rep. and U.S. Senate candidate Krystle Matthews, who is black, was caught on video trashing white people and saying she keeps them “under her thumb” or they “get out of control like kids.”  We keep going like this and we’ll end up like South Africa where the country’s leaders sing about killing white people and black people kill white farmers to get them off the land.  This way lies barbarism.

Finally, the diversity narrative is a crutch that holds people back.  First, it holds back the people who don’t get hired because of affirmative action policies.  The Supreme Court is hearing a case on October 31st brought by Asians who allege Harvard’s race-based admissions policies are holding them back.  Also, a class action suit has been brought against Texas A&M for reserving faculty posts based on race and giving six-figure bonuses only to minorities.  Affirmative action also hurts the minorities by putting them in schools and jobs they can’t handle and inducing learned helplessness in large numbers of people.  It’s racist to say minorities can’t excel and make it on their own merit. When affirmative action started in the 1970s, it was supposed to be temporary.  At some point, the guilt trip and the favoritism were supposed to stop.  We’re headed to India, where advantages are doled out by caste and the system is permanent.  Not the best outcome for us, the country that became the best country on earth by making opportunity available to all.

The Left’s phony diversity narrative is garbage, but will remain wildly successful for a while longer.  It sucks people in.  It gets them to turn off their brain and ignore all the costs the narrative imposes.  Identity politics is poisonous and destroys what unified us as a country – a belief in self-rule and rights for the most important minority, the individual.  But the costs become more apparent with every passing day.  Eventually, clear thinking will win out and the diversity narrative will get thrown into the dustbin of history.  It happened with ‘defund the police’ and it will happen with the rest of the diversity narrative, as well.  We will be much better off when we return to being a nation of sovereign individuals who are captains of their own fate not looking to government for favoritism or advantages others are not allowed to enjoy.

What Thought-Leaders Can Learn from St. Augustine thumbnail

What Thought-Leaders Can Learn from St. Augustine

By Foundation for Economic Education (FEE)

“It is light that brings forth the eye.”

Public discourse is at a nadir. There is plenty of debate, especially over politics and morality. But it is generating way more heat than light.

People on all sides are frustrated with their opponents. “Why don’t they see the light?”

For any single interlocutor, one possible answer is that the person is not actually seeking enlightenment. In that case, trying to share whatever light you have with him is futile. Enlightenment cannot be imposed upon another against his will.

But another possibility is that the other person is not seeking enlightenment from you specifically, because they don’t see you as having much light to offer.

As Leonard E. Read wrote:

“No person will knowingly seek light from one who has no light.”

Read pointed out that enlightenment-seekers are drawn to teachers who manifest mastery. And mastery is an outgrowth of dedication to self-enlightenment. Read cited St. Augustine as an example:

“St. Augustine is a case in point. Deeply contemplative and introspective, he experienced insights and understanding far surpassing those of most people. Bent on his own improvement, the expansion of his own consciousness, he became a master of exposition; that is, he learned to explain the truth which came into his possession. In numerous writings, among them his Confessions, he made available to others that which he had first made his own. Today, more than fifteen centuries later, this is among the most widely purchased of all autobiographies! Here we observe the power of attraction extending itself remarkably in time.”

The best thing you can do to aid in the enlightenment of others is to first and foremost tend to your own light. Seek improvement in your own understanding through study and reflection. And share your understanding with others primarily for the sake of further improving your understanding (by formulating and testing it), not for the sake of fixing theirs.

The more you do that, the more that genuine enlightenment-seekers will be attracted to you as a teacher because of your evident mastery and dedication to the truth. They will be drawn by your light to share in your light.

Read closed one of his lectures by saying:

“If you want to bring forth the perception of others, the formula is simple: just see how much enlightenment you can acquire and share.”

In this context, Read was fond of citing an old English maxim:

“It is light that brings forth the eye.”

Government by Phony Narrative Blows Up In Their Face—Again thumbnail

Government by Phony Narrative Blows Up In Their Face—Again

By The Daily Skirmish – Liberato.US

Wright’s Rule:  Live by the narrative, die by the narrative.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was told there was no evidence Border Patrol agents on horseback had whipped Haitians at the border before Mayorkas hyped the whipping allegations at a Biden press conference.  So he knew there was nothing to the story, but went out and told the story to the nation, anyway, and in the most inflammatory terms. These “horrifying” images “conjured up … what has occurred in the past,” Mayorkas said, referring to slavery.  But Mayorkas had been warned the photographer who took the pictures did not witness any whipping.  An internal investigation later cleared the agents, finding the agents were using long reins to control their horses and no Haitians were harmed in the process.

But now we have a government that never lets the facts get in the way of a good narrative.  The better to rule you with.  I don’t recall a time when the government has told us so many big fat lies.  All we get now is government by phony narrative.  Here’s what I mean.  We are told:

‘The Hunter Biden laptop is just Russian disinformation.’  What a joke.  Even the New York Times stopped telling that whopper.

‘Domestic terrorism is a huge threat because January 6th,’ except we now we know the FBI has been cooking up phony domestic terrorism cases to make the numbers look bad.

‘Republicans are violent and will disrupt the November election,’ except there’s no evidence of that and it’s Democrats and their fellow travelers who like burning cities and firebombing pro-life centers.

‘Election integrity laws suppress the vote,’ except voter turnout has a funny way of going UP – not down – after election integrity laws are passed.

‘Gun control laws work, we need more gun control laws,’ except mass shootings keep happening and gun control doesn’t stop them.

‘COVID vaccines are safe and effective,’ except they may have killed more than 30,000 people in the U.S. and many vaccinated people suffer breatkthrough cases.

‘Things are going swimmingly in Afghanistan,’ until we found out they weren’t, the failures leading to Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal.

‘Women can be men and men can get pregnant,’ except for the fact those assertions are completely contrary to science and common sense.

‘Green energy is better and the entire nation has to transition to it,’ except that green energy is unreliable, more expensive, has toxic environmental consequences, and is deliberately meant to impoverish people, as is happening now in England and Germany.

‘Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election,’ except we now know the FBI knew the Steele dossier was unverified, offered $1 million for corroboration, and proceeded with the Trump/Russia collusion hoax anyway, despite never getting any.

Live by the narrative, die by the narrative.  To our would-be masters, I say: You people are colossal liars, and don’t expect us to believe a word you say when you are the ones out there telling fish stories.  And you have the nerve to want to shut us up.  The sooner you are swept out of office, the better.  Government by phony narrative is hardly a sustainable theory of governance.  The truth always wins out and you are going down.

The Most Important Problem Facing The Country? It’s The Government Stupid! thumbnail

The Most Important Problem Facing The Country? It’s The Government Stupid!

By Royal A. Brown III

Yes! Why? Because there’s nothing being done about rampant inflation (Republicans have helped by approving too much spending including Ukraine handouts including our local U.S. House member Franklin, Sens Rubio and Scott, & other FL Republican Congresspersons); illegal immigration (again only a few Republicans actually speak out against or do anything about the invasion of illegals including terrorists, criminals (rapists, human traffickers, drug dealers, murderers etc.) nor the loss of wealth for the middle class as 401Ks continue to plummet. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is an exception.

So when they say Government is the problem, it is not just the Marxist Democrats at fault. We’ll see what Republicans do when they take back Congress. Will we have real retribution/change or just another Turtle/Ryan led do nothing Congress?

Even when Trump had a Republican Congress the only thing they accomplished was Tax Reform which was not made permanent.

Americans identify ‘the most important problem facing the country’

None of 3 branches of government trusted by a majority of citizens

By Bob Unruh • Published October 11, 2022

A new poll shows there is not a majority of the American people that trusts the nation’s judicial branch.

Nor does a majority trust the executive branch.

And those who trust the legislation branch – do not make up a majority either.

A new polling from Gallup cites the continuing distrust Americans feel for their government, a trust that has been falling even further.

“The latest decline in Americans’ trust in the judicial branch of the federal government — to 47% — means this is the first time that none of the three branches is trusted by a majority of Americans. The average level of trust in the three branches is 43% this year, tying 2015 as the lowest in Gallup’s history,” the poll analysis said. “That year marked the previous low in trust in the judicial branch (53%); trust in the legislative branch (32%) was lower than it is now, while trust in the executive branch (45%) was similar to what it is today.”

The polling reported, “Americans continue to name the government as the most important problem facing the country as leaders in Washington struggle to find solutions to address inflation, illegal immigration, climate change and gun violence.”

Why is this?

“The erosion of trust is largely due to increasingly partisan evaluations of government institutions at a time when politics has become all-important. Republicans and Democrats are inclined to trust institutions when they are controlled by leaders they agree with but withhold trust when leaders don’t make decisions in line with their own political views or policy preferences. In a democratic society, Americans would ideally retain trust in their government institutions regardless of which party is in control, provided those leaders put the nation’s interests first and follow the Constitution, laws, procedures and norms that govern the operation of those institutions,” the report said.
