Democrats Lavish Illegal Immigrants With Valentines. Citizens Take the Arrows.

They’re just not that into you.

Today’s Democrats treat the American people like a spouse who has grown routine, sometimes ungrateful, and decreasingly alluring. And they cannot forgive America for running off for four years with that damn contractor.

But Democrats swoon over the 8.8 million illegal aliens who they have helped invade the country on President Joe Biden’s watch.

These arrivistes are like a collective paramour who blends excitement, the exotic, and a stiff whiff of danger. And, before long, odds are that they will vote Democrat. In a word: HOT!

That’s why American citizens lately feel jilted, if not abused by Democrats, even as illegal aliens gasp beneath the gifts that the Left piles on. “More free stuff?” they must ask. “We must be dating, but we just wanted something casual.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, just cooked up a $53 million giveaway of free debit cards for illegal alien families with kids. They will receive $1,000 per month to buy baby supplies and food, including “culturally relevant” cuisine.

Meanwhile, Adams chopped the Education Department’s food budget by $60 million. This month, students who enjoyed chicken thighs, grab-and-go salads, and cookies now endure cheaper fare: pizza, hummus and crackers, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Gotham’s classrooms are 41.1% Hispanic, 23.7% black, and 16.5% of Asian descent. Schools that are only 14.7% white, on average, should expect more social justice than this. Instead, Adams feeds illegal aliens while depriving his voters’ children.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, also a Democrat, seized the Melnea A. Cass Recreational Complex in Boston’s 55.6% black Roxbury district and turned it into an illegal alien shelter. That will leave at-risk youths with one less place to avoid trouble and seniors one less spot to gather safely.

According to NECN.com news, the expropriated facility on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will provide illegal aliens with “wrap-around services until May 31.”

Healey, accompanied by Boston’s far Left Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu, visited the institution on Jan. 31. One local man approached Healey in front of the building and asked, “Maura, why do you think it’s OK to take away resources from the citizens of Massachusetts?”

She flippantly replied, “We need a housing bill passed.”

Sounding betrayed, former City Council candidate Shawn Nelson complained, “The only time they want us is when they want a vote, and as soon as they get that vote, they don’t need us anymore.”

“Rubin Report” host Dave Rubin flew through Miami last month. “This is the state of absolute insanity happening at our airports,” he commented via X. “I’m in the Pre-TSA line, where migrants don’t have to have an ID to get through security, and it’s their choice whether they want their picture taken.”

Illegal aliens need not show IDs to board planes. Those with arrest warrants may use those as ID, if they wish.

As for American citizens, let’s see those ID cards!

Army veteran Frank Tammaro, 94, was disappointed when his Staten Island senior center closed last March and booted 52 others. Tammaro grew enraged when he learned last summer that the facility reopened, to house illegal aliens—for free.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has taken well-deserved incoming for processing $94.3 million in illegal aliens’ health claims in fiscal year 2022, up 27.4% from $74 million in fiscal year 2021. Meanwhile, U.S. veterans’ wait-listed health claims swelled from 150,000 in fiscal year 2022 to 417,855 in fiscal year 2023—up 178.6%.

Biden is “taking resources away from our veterans to facilitate health care for illegal migrants,” said House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost, R—Ill. “As a Marine, I believe any dollar taken away from a veteran is a promise broken to those who served.”

Biden and the Democrats have turned America into a First World country with second-class citizens and pampered foreign invaders. Americans who dislike the Democrats’ cold shoulders should go to Mexico, rush north across the “border,” and fall into the warm, illegal alien-loving arms of today’s Democratic Party.

‘We Are a Happy People’: What I Saw at Trucker Convoy Rally to ‘Close the Border’

QUEMADO, Texas— Hundreds of trucks and vehicles arrived in western Texas Friday night as part of the Take Our Border Back Convoy.

Americans from Tennessee, Maryland, New York, Missouri, Ohio, New Mexico, and many other states gathered Friday night and Saturday in Quemado, Texas, about 150 miles west of San Antonio, to call on elected officials to secure the border.

“Close the border,” Sharisa Hoke, 50, told The Daily Signal as the convoy arrived at Cornerstone Children’s Ranch on Friday. “Deport everybody who came here illegally, and I think we even need a moratorium on immigration for just a little bit to even it all back out,” she said.

Hoke and her family traveled with the convoy for two days from their home in Aledo, Texas.

Asked what her message is to the Biden administration and U.S. elected leaders, Hoke said, “I would like them to follow the law, but mostly, read our Constitution and give the people back their voice. It just amazes me that they can do whatever they want nowadays, and nobody is held accountable,” she said. “So I’d just like them to start with closing the border actually, like the law says.”

It took the convoy over an hour for the trucks and cars to pull into the ranch hosting the gathering since it was reportedly five miles long according to organizers, but The Daily Signal could not verify this.

“I came here because for me, this is a situation that is unacceptable in our country,” Daniel Demoura, 33, told The Daily Signal. “We’re Americans,” he added, “we’re not a foreign nation. We need to defend our nation and show support for the Constitution, show support for the law. We don’t want people that are breaking the law to come here illegally.”

Demoura, who is originally from Boston, drove with the convoy for part of the journey to Texas and the experience “was really fun. A lot of people waving along the road, a lot of people supporting, screaming, showing flags, and honking. A lot of people [were] happy. So this is the conservative movement. This is America. We are a happy people.”

The Texas bound convoy, one of four convoys, began its journey Jan. 29 from Virginia Beach, Virginia. The other convoys set out from locations in Texas, New Mexico, and California and ended with rallies in Arizona and New Mexico.

The Take Our Border Back Convoy organizers stressed on the group’s website that the gatherings were peaceful, and “strongly” condemned any violence.

“This convoy is meant to bring our country together in love, kindness and in peace,” the convoy’s declaration reads.

There were concerns over opportunists with negative intentions taking advantage of the situation and causing violence at the rally on Saturday. But the arrival of the convoy Friday night and the rally Saturday remained peaceful and without incident. Police were at the entrance of the event Saturday.

The first hour of the rally resembled a church service with contemporary worship music, prayer, and exaltations to “love your neighbor” and serve the Lord. The event turned to speeches later in the afternoon from border security advocates, conservative activists, and elected leaders.

“Let me tell you, in Joe Biden’s America, you get 8 million illegal immigrants in three years,” Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, told the crowd of about 200 on Saturday, adding, “you get 100,000 minors have been lost across the United States. You get enough fentanyl crossing the border to kill the entire world’s population. You get sex trafficking and cartels that control the southern border.”

The site of the trucker convoy rally was 30 minutes north of Eagle Pass, Texas, a city that has become a flashpoint between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, and President Joe Biden, a Democrat. Texas National Guard has taken control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass and is no longer allowing Border Patrol to use the park as a staging area for illegal aliens after they cross the Rio Grande. Biden has demanded Texas surrender the park back to federal authorities, but Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has denied the request.

Eagle Pass has been a busy crossing point for illegal aliens for years, which led Customs and Border Protection to build a temporary processing center there in 2022. The facility, known as Firefly, was originally intended to process about 1,500 illegal aliens at a time, according to a source The Daily Signal spoke with who used to work inside the facility. But at its height, the center was processing as many as 5,000 illegal aliens a day, the former Firefly worker said.

Since the start of the Biden administration, more than 8.5 million illegal aliens have been encountered on America’s borders. In December, a record 371,036 illegal aliens were encountered at and between U.S. ports of entry.

ICYMI, the Senate has negotiated a border “deal” that is more of a political stunt than an actual solution to the crisis. As I said when the deal came out, true border security advocates cannot support stunts and half-measures. Allowing 5,000 illegal migrants to cross daily is an insult. And the many exceptions and loopholes will do little to stem the tide.

Democrats’ last-minute switch to address a border crisis of their own making couldn’t be more politically calculated.

But after being gaslit and ignored by politicians, like Congressman Greg Stanton, we in Arizona can see right through it. Frankly, we wanted Congress to do its job and solve this, and we’ve been given more political maneuvering instead.

That’s why it’s absolutely critical that we take back this seat and send a strong border advocate to Washington, to speak up for our district.

I’ve said it many times. Securing our southern border is an issue of national security and community safety. It will be my first, second, and third priority.

That’s why I introduced an 8-Point Border Security Plan (you can read it here) to fix this problem exhaustively and comprehensively. My plan leaves no stone unturned, starting with a fully secure border, reintroducing vetting, cracking down on asylum abuse, taking back congressional authority and tightening domestic enforcement.

Exposè: The Truth About How Biden Policies Triggered Mass Movement from Venezuela

FAIR just released a groundbreaking report that shows all Americans the direct causes of the astounding 7,300 percent spike in illegal immigration from Venezuela. Before President Biden took office (in FY20), only 4,520 Venezuelan nationals were encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the border. By last year, it exploded to 334,914. è

This does not happen in a vacuum. But the reasons why can be obscure. Here is where FAIR comes in. This report, Country Brief: Venezuela, comes from FAIR’s investigative Research department, where FAIR investigators dug deep into the major and minor Biden policy changes that triggered this tsunami of migration. The national security implications are also considered in depth. Examining the geopolitical conditions inside Venezuela, FAIR identified no change in the economic or political situation that would explain the sudden inflow: rather the entire blame can be laid at the feet of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its erratic, inconsistent and damaging policy change. These variations encouraged Venezuelans to make dangerous trips through numerous countries to live, work and remain in the United States.

FAIR is placing this report in front of the nation’s key policy makers and Congress to inform future legal and policy changes. Its release was widely covered in the media.

MORE DETAIL: The exponential growth of illegal migration from Venezuela mirrors the general increase of mass illegal immigration under the Biden administration. Since President Biden arrived, some 10 million people are known to have attempted to enter the country illegally, including nearly 2 million who were never apprehended and processed by CBP. More than half a million of these people are Venezuelans and nearly 58 percent of them entered in the last fiscal year alone.

The Biden administration has changed policy and broken laws to encourage this inflow. Practices at issue include resume catch-and-release; expand Alternatives to Detention (ATD); stunning parole abuse; and baseless expansion of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Most of these Venezuelans had already been safely settled in other countries for years – completely undermining any claim for asylum.

The FAIR report raises serious concerns about the risks posed to U.S. national security by the surge of new illegal migrants with ties to a government that is, at best, an adversary of the United States. Venezuela’s Marxist dictator, Nicolas Maduro, maintains close relationships with some of America’s most implacable enemies and adversaries, including Iran, Russia and China.

Venezuela’s government issues travel documents to individuals linked to terrorism. Additionally, the Maduro regime allows terrorists to operate with relative impunity and has increased its ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, another notorious state sponsor of terrorism. Recent attacks on Americans and American interests in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf show this is no idle threat.

Among the key findings of the report:

Venezuelans are now the second most encountered nationality of illegal aliens at the border.
More than half a million Venezuelan illegal aliens have been encountered since January 2021.
The number of Venezuelan nationals encountered increased 77 percent between Fiscal Years 2022-2023. Since FY 2020, the increase in Venezuelan illegal immigration has been 7,309 percent.
Executive Branch policies – especially parole, Temporary Protected Status and the mass release of migrants into the U.S. – have driven the dramatic increase in Venezuelan illegal immigration.
The Biden administration’s parole program allows Venezuelans and dual nationals of Venezuela to enter the U.S., even with an expired passport, with little or no vetting.
Venezuela’s government has supplied genuine Venezuelan travel documents to non-Venezuelans, including potential national security threats from countries like Iran. This is especially concerning given Venezuela’s ties to state sponsors of terrorism.

FAIR In Action: The report also includes a detailed list of recommendations to slow the record influx of illegal aliens – not just from Venezuela, but from some 170 nationality groups that have responded to the Biden administration’s de facto open-door policies.

Senate Republicans Block Border Bill

Senate Republicans blocked the border security bill from advancing Wednesday after significant pushback.

A motion to proceed on the bill failed 49-50. Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, James Lankford of Oklahoma and Mitt Romney of Utah voted to pass the legislation.

A handful of Democrats also voted no. Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders opposed the military aid to Israel while Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, Elizabeth Warren and New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez also voted in opposition.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would move to put a package on the floor focusing on foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel and other initiatives that do not include border security.

The Senate released the long-awaited text of a border package in exchange for Ukraine aid. The bill would appropriate $48 billion to Ukraine, and nearly $16 billion to Israel and fund border security measures. Among the border provisions include more funds for hiring new immigration judges to expedite the processing of asylum and deportation proceedings as well as law enforcement to detain and remove illegal migrants.

The bill includes a provision that says the border can remain open so long as less than 5,000 migrants enter daily. Under the bill, authorities can remove migrants without removal proceedings if the week-long average of entries increases to more than 5,000 per day. The process would continue until the two-week average number of illegal entries decreases to 3,750 persons per day.

House Republicans have indicated it would be dead on arrival, arguing it doesn’t do enough to secure the border.

Border Patrol agents on Tuesday apprehended an individual illegally crossing the southern border who admitted past ties to a Colombian group previously designated as a terrorist organization, according to an internal Customs and Border Protection (CBP) memo exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Agents encountered Oscar De Leon-Ramirez on Feb. 6 among a group of eight Colombian and Salvadoran nationals in Texas’ El Paso sector, and shortly thereafter the National Targeting Center notified agents of the subject’s possible record of “terrorist activities,” according to the memo. During an interview with De Leon-Ramirez, the illegal immigrant admitted his previous role working for the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), a group that was previously designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

“During post-Miranda interview, De Leon-Ramirez readily admitted to having crossed the U.S./Mexico International Boundary illegally on today’s date (02/06/2024). Furthermore, De Leon-Ramirez admitted that in 2004/2005 he voluntarily enlisted in the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC),” the memo read.

“De Leon-Ramirez stated that some of his duties as AUC member were to patrol the mountainous rural areas of Istmina, Colombia locating guerrilla members of the FARC (Fuerza Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) and other entities involved with extortion and trafficking in Colombia,” the memo continued.

De Leon-Ramirez has pending criminal proceedings in the Western District Court of Texas, according to the memo.

The U.S. government designated the AUC as a foreign terrorist organization in 2001 and revoked the designation in 2014. The group disbanded in 2006, while some members split off into other groups to continue activities involving the drug trade and human rights abuses, according to the Congressional Research Service.

During its existence, the group “massacred and assassinated suspected supporters” of left-leaning guerrilla groups in Colombia, according to the Congressional Research Service.

“The border is open. Wide open. Don’t believe the media. Don’t believe the White House,” a Department of Homeland Security official told the DCNF on the condition of anonymity, as they were not authorized to speak publicly.

“Arm yourself, protect your homes and your families because this joke of an administration isn’t doing anything,” the official added.

Border Patrol agents apprehended 50 illegal immigrants on the terror watchlist between October and December: 172 in fiscal year 2023 and 98 in fiscal year 2022, according to CBP data. Between fiscal years 2017 and 2021, there were a total of 30 such encounters.

On Jan. 20, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers nabbed a member of the Somali terror group al-Shabaab, who authorities released shortly after he illegally crossed the southern border near San Ysidro, California on March 13, 2023, according to an internal federal memo recently obtained by the DCNF.

The Department of Homeland Security didn’t immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

HART: Dems Want To Make Everything Electric — Except The Border Fence

Joe Biden spent his first three years in office telling everyone that “our southern border is secure.” He would squint into the cameras, looking like that banjo player from “Deliverance,” and say that.

Yet we all knew he was not serious about it because he put Kamala Harris in charge. The only less genuine effort to defend the border would have been for him to put the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line down there for protection.

Biden is not doing this for any high-minded reasons. He wants Democrat votes. Dems have a realistic view of the old Biblical adage, that if you give a man a fish and he will eat for that day. But if you are always willing to give a man someone else’s fish, and he will vote for you forever. Or until he gets his own fish.

Dems feign a humane concern for foreigners. Illegals will be upset when we build the wall, but they will get over it.

Now, Joe is running for office and polls show that Americans are fed up with crime, fentanyl and costly illegals crossing the border unimpeded. In fact, Biden’s border agents are cutting barbed wire for them, then fist bumping illegals upon entry. It has become politically clear to them that their system of fighting immigration up till now, the honor system, is not working.

Joe says he needs an act of Congress to do something and delusionally blames Republicans. Never mind that Dems have had the House, Senate and White House for most of his term and they did nothing. And that he has enacted sixty executive orders that dismantled Trump’s near-closure of the border.

In an age-old Washington insider move, he has some weak nothing “border bill” that is only about two things: (1) getting more money to the infamously corrupt Ukraine ATM that Joe and Hunter have had access to for years, and (2) to make it look like there is a bi-partisan bill that Republicans won’t pass so he can disingenuously point the finger at and blame the GOP for the border issue.

Biden has had all the power he needed to start closing the border in Title 8, Section 12 of the U.S. code. It says the President can do just about anything he wants to protect our border if aliens are determined to be a problem. Anything. et now, he says he needs congressional action?

It is all so confusing. If they send two men caught at the border to a California courtroom, the judge is likely to just not understand what they are saying and gay marry them.

Most of these illegals say they are fleeing dysfunctional, socialist, one-party dictatorships that threaten those who question their authority. That is why they go from California to Florida, Tennessee, or Texas. California might want to build a fence just to keep their existing citizens there.

The sham bill does little but make the situation worse — and more permanent. It ties the hands of Trump if he is elected. It is a word salad of nothingness with terms like “unsupervised detention.” It is as confusing as Kamala Harris explaining gravity.

Illegals are dumping their IDs at the border. We need an ID to get into Costco, but not illegals. They make up names and fail to show up at their court date three years down the road. And if they did show up, how would a judge know if their tale of woe in their old country is true or not? It is a rubber stamp, even for the scant six percent who show up. It is a joke, and this bill enshrines that joke.

If you think unchecked immigration will not change a country, ask the Native Americans. If you want to get a hotdog and some apple pie, pretty soon you will have to go to the Ethnic Section of Wal-Mart.

Congress should not pass this bill. If Trump wins and the GOP takes back the Senate, there will be substantive border control. Trump will give you chaos, true change, peace, a growing economy, less inflation, lower taxes, and a secure border. But for those of us who write satire, Biden gives us material. So I am good either way.

Once again the do nothing Republican/Democrat waste of tax payer money Uni-Party have failed the American people as they continue to permit the illegal immigrant invasion of our republic.

This massive invading force of criminal foreign nationals is led by installed Marxist President Joe Biden and his team of criminal administrators like Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The Republican led congress failed to remove this treasonous cockroach via impeachment on January 6th 2024 with all Communist democrats keeping him gainfully employed with the support of four turncoat republicans.

The final vote was 214-216 with four bottom feeding Republican Ken Buck (CO), Mike Gallagher (WI), Tom McClintock (CA) and Blake Moore (UT) are worms defecting against our republic joining all the Communist Democrats, including 3 from Texas, in blocking his removal from office.

The initial vote was 215-215 before another weak useless Republican turncoat switched to vote against the impeachment.

The fact that the Homeland Security Chief has blood on his hands with his intentional actions to keep our borders wide open was of no concern to these four turn coat bottom feeding Republicans, Ken Buck of socialist Colorado, Tom McClintock of Communist California and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson announced the resolution had failed, to cheers and salutations from Communist Democrats who continue to support the internal collapse of our nation by these illegal immigrant criminals.

The Cloward-Piven Communist strategy is in full gear with the four steps of this welfare revolution being slowly implemented to totally overwhelm local state governance with the goal of giving everyone a federally guaranteed income and install a socialist government.

The Republican Party is complicit in this unconstitutional attack on our free market capitalist economy and sovereignty and in my opinion former former President Donald Trump is probably the only last hope we have in defeating these evil people vice a full blown armed second American revolution.

Thirteen Republican governors attended a Sunday media briefing in Eagle Pass, Texas during which Governor Greg Abbott urged President Joe Biden to take action on the issue of illegal migrant entries along the southern U.S. border, CBS News reported.

Abbott intensified his clash with the Biden administration over runaway immigration issues, demanding immediate action to stem the flow of illegal migrants across the southern border, according to the outlet.

Abbott’s critique of Biden’s handling of border security was unreserved. He accused the administration of neglecting its duties, emphasizing the onus now falls squarely on the federal government to uphold the nation’s laws.

“Joe Biden, it is your turn now — your obligation, your duty, to follow the laws Congress passed and secure the border, just as Texas has,” Abbott stated.

The confrontation has been brewing for some time, with Texas taking unilateral steps to curb illegal crossings. State authorities controversially restricted U.S. Border Patrol access to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass in January. Abbott also attributes a significant drop in local illegal entries to Texas’ extendive deployment of razor wire barriers, asserting their effectiveness in securing the border area, the outlet reported.

Abbott didn’t hesitate to invoke constitutional rights in defense of his actions while also accusing Biden of facilitating unauthorized entry into the country. This sentiment was echoed by Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who criticized the federal government’s inaction, which compels states to take matters into their own hands, CBS News noted.

“Because of his failures, Governor Abbott is having to step up, governors from across the country are having to step up and do the job of the federal government because they simply won’t,” Sanders stated, according to CBS News.

U.S. Senate Releases Long-Awaited Text Of Bipartisan Border Security Bill

The United States Senate published the text of a long-awaited deal to enact border security reforms in exchange for aid to Ukraine on Sunday, marking the end of negotiations that had begun in December.

The 370-page bill — titled the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024 — would appropriate $118 billion in total, with $48 billion to aid Ukraine during its war against Russia and nearly $16 billion to aid Israel during its conflict with Hamas until Dec. 31, as well as fund border security reforms. The latter reforms include more funds for the hiring of new immigration judges to expedite the processing of asylum and deportation proceedings as well as law enforcement operations to detain and remove foreign nationals present illegally in the United States.

“The border security bill will put a huge number of new enforcement tools in the hands of a future administration and push the current Administration to finally stop the illegal flow. The bill provides funding to build the wall, increase technology at the border, and add more detention beds, more agents, and more deportation flights,” wrote Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, the chief GOP negotiator of the bill, in an email to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The border security bill ends the abuse of parole on our southwest border that has waived in over a million people. It dramatically changes our ambiguous asylum laws by conducting fast screenings at a higher standard of evidence, limited appeals, and fast deportation.”

A key provision of the bill in Title IV is the creation of an emergency authority to summarily remove foreign nationals who enter the U.S. illegally, without standard removal proceedings under Title 8, if the week-long average of such entrants increases to over 5,000 persons per day. This summary removal requirement expires only once the two-week average number of illegal entries decreases to 3,750 persons per day.

This provision has proved to be controversial among Republicans, who responded to its disclosure ahead of the bill’s release and have argued that it will not meaningfully reduce illegal immigration. The bill imposes caps on the number of days in a calendar year that the emergency authority may be exercised.

“I never believed we should link policy demands to emergency aid for our allies, but Republicans insisted—so Democrats negotiated in good faith over many weeks and now there is a bipartisan deal on border policy legislation,” wrote Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Patty Murray, who released the bill’s text. “Ukraine’s fate and so much more hangs in the balance—it’s time for Congress to act.”

The bill would appropriate $723 million to hire more U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and U.S. Border Patrol agents, who provide front-line border security and law enforcement, as well as $534.68 million to hire more U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents, who are responsible for arresting and removing illegally present foreign nationals. The bill would also invest nearly $4 billion into U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which adjudicates all asylum claims and would support the hiring of 4,338 asylum officers to process these claims.

Asylum officers, furthermore, would be granted new authority to provisionally adjudicate claims for asylum at the border, as opposed to the current practice, where an applicant is released into the country and given a notice to appear later, sometimes years after arriving. USCIS asylum officers would be empowered to conduct interviews at the border to initially determine whether someone is eligible for asylum, according to a new and stricter standard, with those deemed ineligible being placed in removal proceedings.

“Migrants are approaching the border and being processed and released into the country, sometimes with a piece of paper called a ‘notice to appear’ where they may see a judge in five, seven, ten years. No one knows. Our law changes that and ends the practice of catch-and-release,” independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona told CBS Face the Nation on Sunday, ahead of the bill’s release. “So, when people approach the border and say they want to enter our country to seek asylum…we actually do an interview right then and there, to determine whether they meet the standard for asylum.”

“For those who do not meet that standard…they will be swiftly returned to their home country,” Sinema said.

Apart from reforms to combat illegal immigration, the bill contains several measures to reform legal immigration, which has been demanded by both Republican and Democratic senators, alike. The bill would authorize 250,000 new immigrant visas for lawful permanent residency (known more commonly as “green cards”) to relieve long backlogs currently faced by many foreign national applicants living legally in the country.

In a major concession to the children of such persons, known as “Documented Dreamers,” who normally “age out” of their parents’ status after residing in the country for most of their lives, the bill allows them to temporarily remain in the United States if they have resided in the country for eight years before turning 21, pending the grant of permanent residency. The bill would, furthermore, grant immediate authorization to foreign fiancées and spouses of U.S. citizens to work in the country, as well as grant permanent residency to certain Afghan refugees who evacuated Kabul in 2021 and are presently in the country.

Numerous high-ranking politicians shared their opinions on the deal shortly after it was released.

“I have no doubt that the Senate can, once again, rise to the occasion and lead America forward,” wrote Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Twitter, now known as X. He added that the bill was a “monumental step towards strengthening America’s national abroad and along our borders.”

“The Senate must carefully consider the opportunity in front of us and prepare to act,” wrote Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in a statement. He indicated that the bill would “equip future leaders with a system that works and new emergency tools to restore order.”

Others, however, disagreed with the bill. “This is asinine,” wrote Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah on Twitter, noting that much of the bill’s authority would be “left to the discretionary whims of Secretary Mayorkas—who, I might add, is currently being impeached for failing to actually enforce existing law.”

“We’ve reached an agreement on a bipartisan deal that includes the toughest and fairest set of border reforms in decades,” wrote President Joe Biden shortly after the bill’s release, indicating that he would sign it into law. “I urge Congress to pass this bill immediately.”

In addition, Robert spent 11 years in the U.S. military.

By Three AM, June 12, 2016, Muslim jihadi, Omar Mateen, had slaughtered forty-nine club-goers and severely injured fifty-three more. Where only a short time before, music had vibrated the multi-colored darkened room, and young people at the crowded bar had raised their voices to compete with the cacophony of party people and band. Now the floor was slippery with blood and eerily quiet with the fallen dead and those pretending to be dead. It would be another two hours before police would bulldoze the exterior wall and take out the suicidal mass terrorist.

June 12, 2016 changed forever our nondescript little neighborhood. Although I personally didn’t know the victims, I have been an integral part of this average little Orlando neighborhood for years. I raised my kids here. I know all the shops and can greet small business owners by name. A trip to Publix is as much about running into longtime friends as it is about stocking the pantry. We wondered if the pall that hung over our neighborhood in the massacre’s aftermath would ever go away.

I wrote the following short piece a couple of days following the unspeakable attack as we were all processing this unprecedented horror:

THE PARK WHERE THE NATIONAL NEWS OUTLETS HAVE BEEN STAGING INTERVIEWS IS A COUPLE OF BLOCKS TO THE EAST IN AN OLDER RESIDENTIAL SECTION NEXT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL. THIS IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. THERE IS NOTHING NOTABLE ABOUT IT. IT IS JUST A NORMAL LITTLE NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE NORMAL PEOPLE GO ABOUT DOING THEIR NORMAL LITTLE ROUTINES.

That was who we were seven years ago. Then it seemed such a one-off for a “Pulse” to even occur. There was, of course, the occasional “dirty mosque,” breeding the next generation of jihadis against Western Civilization; but with immigration largely tamped down under the Trump administration, the probability of Islamic terror attacks seemed pretty low.

The mosaic of our country is patterned much differently today. When Biden ill- advisedly took his foot off the Trump immigration brakes, he exponentially accelerated the lack of controls guiding who and what is crossing onto our soil. According to Customs and Border Protection data, the single year of 2022 saw 2.2 million illegals cross unimpeded. Those are the ones we know of. Among them, almost 11,000 originated from the countries of Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran and Syria. If only one in ten of those is an Islamic jihadist, we have ushered in over one thousand illegals whose goal is to form cells, terrorize our citizens, and destroy our nation and all of western civilization. It doesn’t take many. It took a mere handful to take down the Twin Towers. Today’s failed policy invites scores more Pulse massacres in scores more unremarkable communities. Pulse will no longer be a one-off. We need to be prepared for the siege of well-coordinated horrific attacks of terrorism that will, without warning, explode upon on our normal little neighborhoods where normal people go about doing their normal little routines.

‘There Are Terror Threats Coming Across The … Border’: DCNF Reporter Discusses Al-Shabaab Member Caught In Minnesota

A Daily Caller News Foundation reporter warned “terror threats” have crossed the U.S. border during a Saturday morning appearance on Newsmax.

A member of al-Shabaab, a radical Islamic terrorist group based out of Somalia, was captured in Minnesota in January after being released into the United States following an initial detention at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a memo obtained by the DCNF. DCNF Investigative Reporter Jennie Taer discussed the memo with “Wake Up America” weekend hosts Sarah Williamson and Michael Graham.

“We exclusively reported earlier this week that an al-Shabaab terrorist had made their way through the southern border, was caught by Border Patrol in March, was actually released after they determined he was a mismatch which was completely incorrect,” Taer told Williamson and Graham.

“He was not a mismatch on the terror watch list and ICE found that out in January and they just a few days ago nabbed this guy in Minnesota. So, absolutely there are terror threats coming across the southern border and Border Patrol was also warned in a memo that we obtained earlier after the Oct. 7 terrorist attack that there could be Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah terrorists crossing,” Taer continued.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota demanded an explanation about the incident Friday from Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

Taer previously reported that CBP’s San Diego Field Office Intelligence Division sent out a memo in October warning that the radical Islamic terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad could enter the United States via the U.S.-Mexico border.

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported over 302,000 illegal immigrants came across the U.S.-Mexico border in December after nearly 380,000 illegal immigrants have been encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border during the first two months fiscal year 2024, which started Oct. 1, according to data released by the agency. CBP also reported 2,045,838 encounters in fiscal year 2023, 2,206,436 in fiscal year 2022 and 1,659,206 in fiscal year 2021.

Mayorkas Impeachment Effort Progresses as Urgency at Border Intensifies

On Wednesday, the House Homeland Security Committee approved two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for violating 12 immigration and border security laws. The move comes as traditional defenders of the Biden administration in the legacy media are now admitting that a “humanitarian crisis” is currently occurring at America’s southern border.

The articles of impeachment accuse Mayorkas of refusing to enforce multiple elements of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which requires that all illegal immigrants seeking admission be detained until they are granted asylum or parole. The articles note that Mayorkas instead “implemented a catch and release scheme … without effective mechanisms to ensure” that the migrants appear before the immigration court to determine if they can be lawfully admitted. The DHS secretary was also accused of making false statements to Congress when he claimed that “the border is secure” and that DHS had maintained “operational control” of the border.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) stated that Mayorkas “refused to comply with the laws” and “has breached public trust,” commenting that he was “proud” to advance the articles. The Mayorkas impeachment now moves to a full House vote, with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) declaring last week that the articles will be voted on “as soon as possible.”

The potential impeachment comes as the outlook on a Senate funding bill that would include provisions to tighten border security remains uncertain. On Tuesday, President Joe Biden claimed that he needs Congress to pass the bill in order for him to have the “power” to regain border control. But border and immigration experts say that Biden already has the power to regain control of the border through executive order by reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, among other actions.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) contended that the Mayorkas impeachment articles were justified. “First of all, he committed a felony,” he observed. “He perjured himself in testimony before Congress multiple times. And I think he’s also failed to uphold his responsibilities, his sworn duty to faithfully enforce the laws of the nation.”

Palmer went on to detail what he saw during a recent visit to the southern border.

“I’ve been to the border multiple times, and literally my last trip, when 64 Republicans went down to the border in the first week of January, I broke away from the main group because I knew that the Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement would talk to me individually and say things that they wouldn’t say to the group while I was standing there,” he explained. “… As soon as [I] got to the riverbank, there [was] a group of men [that] came out from under the riverbank, waded across this little canal, and came up the bank right where I was standing. … They’re all young adult males from Venezuela and Honduras. For Mayorkas to say to the American people, much less to Congress under oath, with the threat of perjury, that the border secure, is…” Palmer shook his head.

He further described what happens when an individual presents themselves at the border.

“[The Biden administration has] thrown open the door. [Migrants] … turn themselves in to the Border Patrol. They’re processed, they’re given health care checkups, given cell phones. They’ll transport them wherever they want to go. Think about the 1.7 [million] gotaways. … [T]hat’s the thing that should frighten every American. We know we’ve interdicted 312 known or suspected terrorists on the terrorist watch list, but we have no idea who came across in that 1.7 million gotaways.”

Palmer concluded by urging believers to pray and vote for an expanded GOP majority in Congress and a Republican president in order to secure the border. “That’s another thing that people can put on their prayer list is we need to hold the majority. We need to expand our majority. Get the Senate. Get a Republican in the White House. And for God to give us one more chance to get the country back on the right track.”

The city of Oakland, California has been facing a significant crime surge in recent years, prompting major employers in the state to take action to protect their workers.

Blue Shield, a health insurance provider, and Clorox, a cleaning and household products company, have both announced plans to improve the safety of their employees by providing them with security escorts and other measures. This comes after a report by CBS News Bay Area revealed that workers at these companies were advised to take caution when traveling to and from work and even told to stay inside during meal breaks.

A representative from Blue Shield stated that the company is committed to supporting the safety of their employees, and has implemented various options to ensure their well-being. This includes providing ridesharing services, paid parking, and private security to employees when they come into the office. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Blue Shield highlighted the need for city, county, and state leaders to work together with the community to improve safety in Oakland.

Similarly, Clorox expressed their commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of their workers. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the company stated that it has been working with other local businesses to collaborate on ways to make Oakland a safer place for everyone. Operating out of Oakland for over 110 years, Clorox has a strong connection to the community and is devoted to making a positive impact.

The rise in crime in Oakland has been alarming, with a 21% increase in violent crime in 2022 compared to the previous year. Robberies have increased by 38%, and burglaries by 23%. The city also reported a total of 120 homicides, which is the second consecutive year of this number. This alarming trend has not gone unnoticed, with major employers like Blue Shield and Clorox taking action to protect their employees.

Blue Shield and Clorox are not the only companies in Oakland that have advised their workers to take safety precautions when coming to and leaving work. Kaiser Permanente, the largest employer in Oakland, has also issued a memo urging its employees to stay inside for meals due to a string of local robberies. In a statement to multiple media outlets, Kaiser emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of their employees and continually monitoring their environments for any potential concerns.

The Most Justified Impeachment in American History

Secretary Mayorkas willfully allowing millions to invade the country is not just a “policy dispute.”

As the House Homeland Security Committee advanced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over an invasion of the country by millions, Democrats and some Republicans argued that it was a “policy dispute” and not impeachable.

“Political and policy disagreements aren’t impeachable offenses,” former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff argued in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. The Journal‘s own editorial board used that same line in its own subheader opposing impeachment, arguing that, “a policy dispute doesn’t qualify as a high crime and misdemeanor.”

Democrats have been making that argument all along.

The Democrat Committee on Homeland Security put forward a 45-page statement which mentions the word “policy” 45 times, and argues that, “Impeachment is an extraordinary remedy under the United States Constitution. It is not a tool for policy or political differences.”

“This is simply a policy dispute, a disagreement about how a different party is attacking a policy problem. And the Republicans are trying to abuse their power and the Constitution to convert what is simply a disagreement into somehow some way, a high crime and misdemeanor there is no crime, much less a high crime or misdemeanor here,” Rep Dan Goldman contended.

Impeachment is not an “extraordinary remedy”, it’s just the ultimate form of congressional oversight. Presidents are not kings, they do not have unlimited power to do whatever they please, and cabinet members may be appointed by presidents, but they must be approved and serve at the pleasure of two branches of the federal government, and not just of one single man.

The same Democrats protesting that impeaching Mayorkas is an abuse of power were responsible for sending Peter Navarro, a former Trump official, to prison for refusing to testify before their partisan committee. That was and is an extraordinary abuse of power.

Mayorkas, unlike Navarro, is a sitting government official. Impeachment, as Alexander Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers, involves those “offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust.”

Impeachable offenses “relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself,” he wrote.

It’s hard to think of a better example than allowing millions of illegal aliens to invade the country, and doing everything possible to wilfully impede the efforts of states trying to slow that invasion.

As the internet meme goes, Homeland Security had one job. Is our homeland secure?

Entire cities have been overloaded and are groaning under the weight of an invasion that has no precedent in American history. Major cities are swarmed, police officers are being assaulted in broad daylight and stores are being cleaned out by massive mobs of illegal migrant invaders.

There were 2.5 million encounters at the border in the last fiscal year alone. And that does not count the millions more who were never ‘encountered’. The same House Committee on Homeland Security moving to impeach Secretary Mayorkas had released statistics showing that there were 269,735 encounters in just the last month of the fiscal year.

Nearly 7 million illegal alien invaders have shown up on Mayorkas’ and Biden’s watch. They include tens of thousands of gang members and criminals, hundreds of terrorists and enough fentanyl to kill every American ten times over… and those are just the ones that we caught.

Is 7 million illegal invaders a policy dispute or a war?

Biden, Mayorkas and other officials claim that they’re helpless to act and that they’re doing the best that they can, and that House Republicans can fix the problem with a “border deal.”

All of that is a lie.

The Biden administration calculatedly set out to dismantle every border security policy. It ended construction of the border wall and sued Arizona and Texas for trying to fortify their own borders. It fought in court to end Title 42 authority by claiming that the pandemic was over even as Biden tried to justify his massive student loan bailout plan because of the pandemic. It went to court to be able to not only release illegal alien invaders into America, but to do so without court dates.

When a court blocked the release of illegal aliens without court dates, Secretary Mayorkas denounced it as a “very harmful ruling.” During the negotiations for a ‘border deal’, the Biden administration insisted that preventing it from releasing illegal aliens into the country was a ‘red line’ that it could not compromise on. That’s because releasing them is the whole point.

You can file this under “treason” or “high crimes and misdemeanors”, but it is at its most elemental, a profound breach of the public trust with massively catastrophic consequences.

It is a “policy dispute” in the same sense that announcing China can freely invade California or that anyone born before 1959 can be freely killed without fear of prosecution is a policy dispute. In theory every policy position, no matter how horrifying, is a policy dispute. Public officials should not be casually impeached over policy disagreements, they should however be impeached when their malicious actions violate their duties and cause tremendous harm.

Of all the impeachments over the years, impeaching Mayorkas may be the most justified.

Past impeachments have often been partisan exercises or like the impeachment of Judge Alcee Hastings for bribery (who then became a long serving Democrat congressman) a matter of personal corruption where the overall public harm was either intangible or negligible.

The impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas is not a matter of personal misconduct. There is no evidence that he is stealing, conducting an affair, taking or soliciting bribes or corrupting the government for his own personal agendas. His only actual crime is following orders.

And that’s the only argument against impeaching Mayorkas. He’s not acting on his own.

Enabling the mass invasion of the United States is not the action of one man, but of an administration, which has used every federal agency at its disposal, including the EPA, to enable that invasion, which has dispensed a fortune to the invaders to encourage them to invade, and another fortune to the refugee resettlers to make sure that they never leave.

And it’s not just the policy of one man or one administration, but of a party that has spent decades conniving, scheming and maneuvering, since the Kennedy administration, to fundamentally transform immigration law in order to shift the national demographics and the political culture through laws, UN treaties, economic incentives and the neglect of existing laws.

Elected officials can advocate for laws, no matter how destructive, and they can even lie about the consequences of those laws, as JFK and Ted Kennedy did about the shift toward third world immigration, as LBJ did about the disastrous UN refugee treaty that is at the heart of our asylum problem today, and as Senate Democrats did about their amnesty in 1986. But that amnesty, part of another in a series of “border deals” became part of the trend of not only advocating, but ignoring and refusing to enforce immigration laws. And then creating anti-immigration laws, such as sanctuary cities and states, and a federal crackdown on state immigration enforcement.

Beyond a refusal to enforce laws, Obama initiated a unilateral amnesty for some illegal aliens as part of what was deemed “selective enforcement” and “discretion”. That already illegal policy evolved under Biden into virtually no enforcement for anyone except the worst of the worst.

Elected officials and appointees have certain responsibilities, regardless of their partisan agendas, and there are consequences for failing to uphold them. As a partisan political appointee, Secretary Mayorkas would inevitably work toward open borders, as has every Democrat before him, but that did not change his responsibility to his official duties.

Overseeing and implementing an invasion is incompatible with those duties.

Elected officials can have policy disputes, but appointed officials are managing the machinery of the state which must continue to run despite their partisan leanings. An anti-war secretary of defense cannot simply drive all the tanks into the ocean and announce that the United States will no longer defend itself against enemy invasions. And, contrariwise, a conservative EPA head cannot reject the concept of pollution and refuse to fulfill the responsibilities of his office.

That is what Secretary Mayorkas has done. He was following orders, but that’s no excuse. Cabinet members may be chosen by presidents, but they answer to two branches of the government. That second branch of the government is preparing to impeach Mayorkas for actions that have wrecked entire cities, trashed much of the country and cost countless lives.

No one died because of anything that Clinton or Trump faced impeachment for, but people have died in sizable numbers because of the action and inaction of Secretary Mayorkas and Biden. The murders, fentanyl overdoses and diseases spreading across the nation are a crime. They are a high crime whose origin lies with the policies of Mayorkas and the Biden administration.

If a political official willfully refusing to do his duty leading to an invasion of millions and the deaths of over a hundred people doesn’t justify impeachment, what possibly does?

The Razor Thin Margin of Freedom

Almost 250 years ago, 13 separate colonies in North America, founded mostly by the British, made a pact together to form one unit. Instead of being colonies, they became states.

They joined together to form the United States. The federal government did not create the states. It was the reverse–the states united together to form these united states.

But today, we have a scenario where one state, Texas, is trying to protect itself from a type of invasion, while the federal government wants to hamper its efforts.

Ever since Joe Biden was sworn in, our borders have become quite porous. In three years, some eight million illegals have come through the borders.

One measure that Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently took was to install rolls of razor wire at a certain place on the border. But the Biden administration sued to be granted permission to cut that razor. And even the Supreme Court agreed (5-4) with Biden, not Abbott, last week.

In response to that court decision, Cal Thomas opines, “The obvious question, which the court did not address: why is the federal government not enforcing immigration laws which migrants are breaking to enter the country?”

Critics ask: Do the open borders in our nation in any way undermine the Constitution? Here’s how our governing document begins: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States.”

Are some of these lofty goals being hamstrung today as millions of illegal immigrants stream into the country without being processed?

“Well, it’s totally unconstitutional,” says Hon. Allen West, former U.S. Congressman, about this situation on a recent radio segment with me.

He notes, “What you see happening down there is just unconscionable….They’re supposed to protect every state in the Union from an invasion. And that’s exactly what we have happening. You have the willful, the intentional, and the purposeful abdication of the Constitutional duty enumerated in Article IV, Section 4 by the Biden administration.”

For this piece, I asked for comments from a couple of Constitutional scholars, including Dr. Matthew Spalding, Vice President and Dean of the D. C. campus of Hillsdale College. Spalding served as the Executive Editor of the massive 2005 book, The Heritage Guide to the Constitution.

Spalding told me, “Under the Constitution, the federal government guarantees ‘to protect each of [the states] from Invasion’ at the same time that it restricts the states from doing things associated with self-defense ‘unless actually invaded.’ At what point does the sheer number of drugs, weapons, and criminals crossing an uncontrolled border—this can no longer be called merely immigration—amount to an invasion? The federal government may have plenary authority over immigration, but individual states have a duty to defend their citizens and property when the federal government abdicates its responsibility to protect those states.”

What does the Constitution say? Article IV, Section 4 declares, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.”

I also asked for a comment from constitutional attorney, law professor, and author John Eidsmoe.

He told me that last week’s decision is “only a skirmish in a long court battle”: “The one-paragraph [Supreme Court] order simply said federal authorities could continue to cut wires set in place by Texas officials to prevent illegal immigration, until the case is finally resolved on its merits in the appeal from the District Court to the 5th Circuit, and, ultimately to the Supreme Court. This 5-4 order is far from the final word in the case.”

Think of the cost of the open borders: Human trafficking, including sex trafficking of children, tens of thousands of Americans dying regularly from fentanyl overdoses, cities and towns overrun with more people than they can handle. And on it goes.

It boggles the mind that cities like New York City, Chicago, and Denver claim to be “sanctuary cities,” where they welcome one and all, including illegals. So Gov. Abbott has been busing many illegals, with their permission, to these places. But now the cities are complaining because they’re being overrun. Ironically, so far they’re complaining against Abbott, not Biden.

One man once warned us wisely against open borders: “We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

Agreed. That was Barrack Obama in 2005. It’s scary to think that these days our freedom to secure the border is only razor thin.

The mission creep of the United Nations has gotten way out of control. As just one of many examples, the UN mission to unilaterally encourage global migration has resulted in multiple avoidable political crises. It is past time to de-fund and re-organize the United Nations. In the case of the US Congress under the current executive, in the immediate future this can be accomplished through use of specific restrictions on how appropriations can be used, much as is commonly done with internal budgeting. Looking forward to a new executive administration, this should be coupled with diplomatic efforts to build an international coalition of nations which will support a major defunding and restructuring effort.

The current UN structure and charter has outlived its usefulness, and has been coopted to advance globalist, utilitarian, socialist and malthusian political objectives. This is not what the UN was created for, and efforts to create a globalist, one-world government structure by cooptation of the United Nations to serve this agenda can only be stopped by systemically reorganizing and downsizing the organization.

As just one of many examples of UN mission creep, the United Nations, through its International Organization for Migration (IOM), has launched its Global Annual Appeal for 2024. The UN wants USD 7.9 billion to “support its operations and help create a system that realizes migration’s promise as a force for good throughout the world”.   Another case of a carefully crafted mission statement which obfuscates the actual intent and purpose of an initiative by using misleading feel-good wording.

The UN says it will use the money for three purposes: 1) “saving lives and protecting people on the move”, 2) “finding solutions to displacement, including reducing the risks and impacts of climate change” and 3) “facilitating regular pathways for migration.” The UN (IOM) writes that their goals include “proactive work to unlock the huge potential of migration for economic growth and human development.”

Video Appears To Show Migrants Tucked Away In Hidden Room Under Military Guard At Major U.S. Airport

A video exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation appears to show a U.S. service member guarding a room chock-full of illegal immigrants at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International airport.

Republican state Sen. Colton Moore, who is the vice chairman of the Georgia Freedom Caucus, took the video Tuesday night and told the DCNF that he learned of the hidden room full of migrants through a “whistleblower” at Atlanta’s airport, who noticed an influx of illegal migrants coming through the facility in recent months. In the video, there appears to be a uniformed soldier guarding a room full of migrants and volunteers with a group called Team Libertad, which boasts of helping migrants travel on its social media accounts.

“We’re all getting them flights to where they need to be,” a man who identified himself as a volunteer from Team Libertad says in the video. “These are just recently documented travelers getting released from ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] getting to where they need to be.”

“There’s people that, they get dropped off here from ICE detention with no help,” the man added.

Team Libertad, which is part of a program run by the nonprofit group Inspiritus, greets migrants at the Atlanta airport and accompanies them to their gates, according to a sign up page the organization uses to recruit volunteers.

“Team Libertad helps travelers find their way through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Information regarding these travelers is protected by HIPAA,” the group told the DCNF in a statement.

Migrants who come to the U.S. illegally can fly commercially, even without IDs, the DCNF reported in January 2022. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) accepts a number of alternate forms of identification that include certain arrest warrants and their notices to appear in court.

It is not clear why there appeared to be a military member, whose branch affiliation is unclear, guarding the room. In a statement to the DCNF, a spokesperson for the Georgia National Guard said they’re “not aware of the incident in question or any such activity involving the Georgia National Guard at the airport.” The Pentagon did not respond to the DCNF’s inquiries.

Moore, whose voice can be heard in the video, said the man who appeared to be a soldier guarding the room eventually took his phone and stopped him from filming. In the video, individuals can be heard shouting “no” multiple times and saying “you’re done.”

“The room was absolutely packed with people from every continent on this planet,” Moore told the DCNF. “When I took my phone and reached it up above the guy to get a better view of all the illegals in the room, that’s when chaos broke out. That’s when the U.S. Army guy took the phone. It was a scrimmage between he and I in order to get the phone back. And then he proceeded to tell me to get out of there and just made a real big scene out of it.”

The whistleblower said that there’s been an uptick of migrants traveling through the Atlanta airport in recent months, Moore explained.

The Biden administration began flying illegal migrants in secretive overnight trips to New York as early as August 2021, according to The New York Post.

In recent years, federal authorities have recorded a record spike in illegal migrant crossings at the southern border. Border Patrol recorded more than 2.2 million encounters in fiscal year 2022 and more than 2 million in fiscal year 2023 at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to federal data.

Between October and December, Border Patrol recorded an additional roughly 629,000 encounters at the southern border, according to the data.

In a statement to the DCNF, the Atlanta airport said Moore “interrupted” their efforts to assist migrants.

“ATL works with Team Libertad volunteers to provide assistance to immigrants during their travel. Tuesday night, that work was interrupted when Senator Colton Moore and another gentleman attempted to enter and record their volunteers. Consequently, concerned witnesses called 911 and the men were eventually escorted off the floor by witnesses,” the airport said in a statement to the DCNF.

“Team Libertad is a non-profit that has worked at ATL since 2020 and there are no military or other law enforcement agencies involved in this effort. Immigrants are never housed in the airport,” the airport added.
