SHOSHANA BRYEN: Don’t Lecture Israel About ‘Proportionality’

As the Israeli incursion into Gaza continues, increased attention has been focused on the notion of “proportionality” in both the number of casualties on each side and the sophistication of weapons each side brings to bear. Mostly, pundits mean that Israel is killing too many Palestinians. An understanding of proportionality in the laws of war, however, has been missing.

Even friends of Israel get it wrong – one irate speaker on British television said, “Do you want proportionality? Should Israel seek out young women in Gaza, rape, torture, and kill them? Should Israel find babies and murder them in front of their parents – or murder parents in front of their children? Should Israel indiscriminately shell Palestinian villages?”

An Israeli journalist, in a prior response to Hamas missiles, went so far as to call Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system “unsportsmanlike.” He wondered what FIFA would say “if Germany, with its superior economy and industry, were to replace Manuel Neuer with a bionic goalkeeper… capable of calculating where each Argentine ball will come from, the exact position to stand in, and amount of force needed to block it… On the modern battlefield (Israel) is a bionic Germany.”

How unsportsmanlike!

Then there is the “yes, but…” response. “Yes” Hamas started it; “Yes,” Hamas tortured and massacred Israeli civilians; “Yes” Hamas puts military infrastructure in civilian neighborhoods; “Yes” Israel is entitled to self-defense; “Yes” the Israelis warn Palestinians. “But” so many more Palestinians have been killed than Israelis.

Isn’t that the definition of “disproportionate?” No. It isn’t.

Proportionality in international law is not about equality of death or civilian suffering, or even about firepower returned being equal in sophistication or lethality to firepower received. Proportionality weighs the military necessity of an action against the suffering that the action might cause to enemy civilians in the vicinity. A review of expert opinion – none of which was written in relation to Israel – helps to clarify. And each should be read in relation to Hamas crimes against Israeli civilians.

Prof. Horst Fischer, Academic Director of the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany, and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, wrote in The Crimes of War Project:

The principle of proportionality is embedded in almost every national legal system and underlies the international legal order… When a party commits a lawful attack against a military objective, the principle of proportionality also comes into play whenever there is collateral damage, that is, civilian casualties or damage to a non-military objective… attacks are prohibited if they cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, or damage to civilian objects that is excessive in relation to the anticipated concrete and direct military advantage of the attack. This creates a permanent obligation for military commanders to consider the results of the attack compared to the advantage anticipated.

Exactly as Israel does when it drops leaflets warning civilians of an impending attack and aborts missions after finding civilians used as human shields on rooftops.

The Council on Foreign Relations notes:

A state is legally allowed to unilaterally defend itself and right a wrong provided the response is proportional to the injury suffered. The response must also be immediate and necessary, refrain from targeting civilians, and require only enough force to reinstate the status quo ante.

Status quo ante October 7 is impossible for Israel.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo, Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court, investigated allegations of war crimes during 2003 invasion of Iraq, and in 2006 published an open letter containing his findings. Included was this section on proportionality:

Under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute, the death of civilians during an armed conflict, no matter how grave and regrettable, does not in itself constitute a war crime. International humanitarian law and the Rome Statute permit belligerents to carry out proportionate attacks against military objectives, even when it is known that some civilian deaths or injuries will occur.

A crime occurs if there is an intentional attack directed against civilians (principle of distinction) or an attack is launched on a military objective in the knowledge that the incidental civilian injuries would be clearly excessive in relation to the anticipated military advantage (principle of proportionality).

Finally, Dr. Françoise Hampton, University of Essex (UK) wrote about the concept of “military necessity.”

Military necessity is a legal concept used in international humanitarian law (IHL) as part of the legal justification for attacks on legitimate military targets that may have adverse, even terrible, consequences for civilians and civilian objects. It means that military forces in planning military actions are permitted to take into account the practical requirements of a military situation at any given moment and the imperatives of winning.

As some military objectives are destroyed, the enemy will use other installations for the same purpose, thereby making them military objectives and their attack justifiable under military necessity. There is a similarly variable effect on the determination of proportionality. The greater the military advantage anticipated, the larger the amount of collateral damage – often civilian casualties – which will be “justified” or “necessary.

All civilian casualties are to be mourned, but what becomes clear – absent a shaky notion of sportsmanship – is that Israel has the right, and indeed the obligation, to defend its people, has the right to “win” the war of self-defense that it is fighting, and has taken account of the requirements of international law regarding “proportionality” and “military necessity.”

The same cannot be said for Hamas.

Biden is Sanctioning Hamas While Funding Hamas

Is USAID still operating under a terrorism funding exemption license?

The Biden administration has rolled out some new sanctions on Hamas and other terrorist groups.

“Today’s action underscores the United States’ commitment to dismantling Hamas’s funding networks by deploying our counterterrorism sanctions authorities and working with our global partners to deny Hamas the ability to exploit the international financial system,” Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said in a statement.

“We will not hesitate to take action to further degrade Hamas’s ability to commit horrific terrorist attacks by relentlessly targeting its financial activities and streams of funding,” he added.

Among the individuals targeted includes Khaled Qaddoumi, described as Hamas’s liaison to the Iranian government, as well as a number of Iranian military members who trained Hamas militants.

Also sanctioned was the Al-Ansar Charity Association, which the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control said funds the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a Hamas-affiliated militant group.

The Biden administration and Democrats have been reluctant to sanction the IRGC, these sanctions target some IRGC figures. And while this is good, Biden announced $100 million in aid to Gaza going through USAID. which, according to a statement by Samantha Power, will work with “our trusted UN, International Committee of the Red Cross, and Red Crescent partners are ready to distribute to those in need.”

The Red Crescent locally has a history of terror ties. There’s nothing trusted about it. Or the UN.

Rep. James and the House Oversight Committee are asking some tough questions.

In a letter to USAID administrator Samantha Power, Republicans on the oversight panel led by chair James Comer (R-Ky.) requested that by Nov. 7 the agency provide materials showing how it has assessed the risks that aid could be diverted.

“It is vital to fully account for U.S. funds intended for humanitarian purposes to ensure they do not directly or indirectly fund terrorism,” the GOP lawmakers wrote in the letter, which was first obtained by Axios.

Among the documents requested are any reports since 2020 detailing aid that was or could be diverted by terrorist groups and the assessments of a USAID body that oversees risk management.

That is crucial because, documents have revealed that the State Department knew already that it’s high risk.

In 2021, State Department officials warned that “there is a high risk Hamas could potentially derive indirect, unintentional benefit from U.S. assistance to Gaza” and asked for a special exemption from sanctions on funding terrorists.

In 2022, Biden met with Palestinian Authority terror leader Mahmoud Abbas and boasted that, “I reversed the policies of my predecessor and resumed aid to the Palestinians — more than a half a billion dollars in 2021.”

Samantha Power and USAID aren’t denying that Hamas can benefit, only offering a toothless warning.

We have been clear that any interference by Hamas will jeopardize the continuation of that life-saving assistance,” a USAID spokesperson told Axios.

Note the language carefully. Not ‘cut off’, “jeopardize”. What does jeopardize mean? Absolutely nothing. Biden has made it clear that Gaza aid is a priority. It’s not going to be cut off. Samantha Power offers no meaningful and clear consequences for cutting off the aid. And you can’t sanction Hamas and fund Hamas at the same time.

The real tell will be the information that Rep. Comer is searching for and the question of whether USAID to Gaza is still operating under a special terrorist funding exemption license.

If it is, that’s an admission that we’re still funding Hamas.

This week, we celebrate our 14th anniversary of Vaccine Awareness Week. In this video, Barbara Loe Fisher, cofounder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) — which celebrated its 41st anniversary as an organization in April 2023 — shares research on the censorship of vaccine information that she’s compiled for the U.S. House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

As usual, I will match all donations made to the NVIC during this week, so it’s a great time to contribute, as each dollar you give will be doubled.

It’s been 15 years since I first made the commitment to support this extraordinary organization that fights for medical freedom like no other, and during the COVID pandemic we came to see just how crucial this work really is. Consumer freedom of choice and bodily autonomy when it comes to decision-making regarding vaccines can truly be a matter of life and death.

The Why Behind 15 Years of Persecution

While the NVIC has worked against headwind since the beginning, the public attacks, persecution, demonization, discrimination and censorship really took on new dimensions during the COVID pandemic.

“I decided that I wanted to know exactly by whom, and why NVIC and my voice have been silenced online,” she says. “We knew, particularly in 2015, with the Disneyland measles outbreak, that the heat was on. Clearly, the goal by the pharmaceutical lobbyists that had joined with government was to have everyone take every federally recommended vaccine.

And they knew that our opposition — the work we … had been doing since 2010, to educate legislators about the fact that they need to have informed consent protections of vaccine laws — was a big obstacle. In my research, I realized that it was around 2009, when you lent your support to NVIC, that the persecution actually began.

Honestly, that’s what I realize now. In this report, I’ve gone in chronological order and I bring the reader along so they can see how, every step of the way, this was done.

Last night I said, ‘This reads like a crime novel.’ It’s unbelievable what has been done because a group of parents in 1982, whose children had been injured by DPT vaccine, decided to take on the pharmaceutical industry and big public health.

The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was a major piece of legislation that basically said vaccine safety should be a national priority; that vaccines do injure and kill, and that was the first time that had been acknowledged.

From that point on, the pharmaceutical industry knew that they had to do something to stop this. But it took them a long time. What I’ve done is, I’ve gone into the documents. What’s amazing to me is it’s all online. All you have to do is put it together.

This report is anchored by over 300 references, live linked. So as a reader, you are able to go in and read the documents yourself, and decide for yourself if what I have found here is one of the most incredible stories in the history of medicine.”

COVID Unmasked the Police State

Fisher goes on to review some of the most recent documents, such as a 2019 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report on “Combating Targeted Disinformation Campaigns, a Whole of Society Issue.”1 Part 2 of that DHS report came out in August 2021.2

Mind you, the first part of this report came out before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, clearly demonstrating that censoring the internet didn’t begin with the notion that people had to be protected from “misinformation” about COVID. They’ve been moving in the direction of controlling information online for a long time. The pandemic was just an excuse that allowed them to stop pretending that information control wasn’t a key goal.

“Who do we have meeting [here]? The FBI, Fannie Mae, the MITRE Corporation, National Oilwell Varco, Booz Hamilton, University of Florida, Levin College of Law, Northern California Regional Intelligence Center.

This is a meeting that is basically trying to say that the internet needs to be policed, that social media platforms need to be sure that information that is not officially blessed, if you will, is not on the internet.”

Then came a 2020 report by the Sabin-Aspen Vaccine Science & Policy Group, “Meeting the Challenge of Vaccination Hesitancy.”3 This report was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is massively invested in vaccines and vaccine development.

A Hate Group Doing What Hate Groups Do

In the summer of 2020, the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) also published “The Anti-Vaxx Industry,”4 after which the demonization of those questioning the COVID jabs really took off.

That report was followed by “The Anti-Vaxx Playbook: Exposing Anti-Vaxxers’ Deadly Plan to Disrupt COVID Vaccines, and How We Can Stop Them,”5 published by the CCDH in December 2020, three months after the NVIC held its fifth international public conference on vaccination.

“That was really the all-out frontal assault on anybody that is branded an anti-vaxxer,” Fisher says. “And in that report, again, NVIC, myself, you [Dr. Mercola] and others who spoke at the NVIC conference are targeted and demonized in vicious language.

Imran Ahmed, who founded the Center for Countering Digital Hate, is a political operative out of England who now has come to the United States in the Washington, D.C., area to do his work, trying to discredit, demonize and stop anybody who does not conform with what the World Health Organization and U.S. government decides is the correct vaccine information.”

In a December 22, 2020, Twitter post,6 the CCDH stated that “Anti-vaxxers have been meeting secretly to plan how to stop the COVID vaccine. We were there. Today we’re exposing their playbook.” The report also claims to quote “leaked audio” from the conference.

The reality of the situation was that there was no audio to be “leaked” because it was a PUBLIC conference, open to absolutely anyone and everyone. It was about as far from a “secret meeting” as you could possibly get. Since the CCDH admitted “being there,” they must have paid the nominal attendance fee, as did thousands of others. So, the entire premise and context of that report was a lie.

CCDH Is the True Misinformation Superspreader

The CCDH also fabricated data to support a false narrative in it’s March 21, 2021, “Disinformation Dozen” report,7,8,9 in which Ahmed falsely claimed 12 people and/or organizations were responsible for 65% of all anti-vaccine content on social media and 73% of vaccine misinformation on Facebook.

In mid-August 2021, after conducting an internal investigation, Monika Bickert, vice president of Facebook content policy, publicly called out the falsehoods in “The Disinformation Dozen” report, stating:10

“There isn’t any evidence to support this claim … In fact, these 12 people are responsible for about just 0.05% of all views of vaccine-related content on Facebook. This includes all vaccine-related posts they’ve shared, whether true or false, as well as URLs associated with these people.”

Bickert highlighted the fact that Ahmed had preselected the 12 individuals listed in the report, and that his “faulty narrative” was based on nothing more than “a narrow set of 483 pieces of content over six weeks from only 30 groups, some of which are as small as 2,500 users.”

Despite that, a long list of officials continued to cite the CCDH’s fabricated claims. What’s more, even though Facebook admitted the CCDH’s claims were bogus, they still took action against accounts by applying penalties and/or bans.

The Rise of the Censorship Industrial Complex

In February 2021, the WHO issued the “WHO Public Health Research Agenda for Managing Infodemics.”11

“How they define ‘infodemic’ is basically ‘too much information.’ We have too much information. They’ve got to be the arbiters of what is truth; they’ve got to be the ones to tell everybody what to think,” Fisher says.

The following month, the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security at the Bloomberg School of Public Health published “National Priorities to Combat Misinformation and Disinformation for COVID-19 and Future Public Health Threats: A Call for National Strategy,”12 and in June, the National Security Council issued “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism.”13

The next month, July 2021, the U.S. surgeon general issued an advisory, “Confronting Health Misinformation,”14 which, like so many others, referenced the CCDH’s fabricated “Disinformation Dozen” report that targeted me, the NVIC and the Organic Consumers Association (OCA) — two of my Health Liberty partners — for destruction.

“Next you have ‘Memes, Magnets, and Microchips: Narrative Dynamics Around COVID-19 Vaccines,’15 by the Virality Project, put out by the Stanford International Observatory, the NYU Center for Social Media Politics, the University of Washington Center for an Informed Public and Graphika. It goes on and on …

And what is so unbelievable is that what it shows is that the federal government, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Defense and more, joined with businesses and institutions in society, particularly universities, to create what is known now, or is described by some, as ‘the censorship industrial complex,’ or ‘the disinformation industrial complex.’

It is an unbelievable story about how ordinary citizens in this country, particularly myself and NVIC, who have been working for 41 years with the federal government, with state governments, doing work in a civil and responsible way — the way we’re supposed to do it in this representative constitutional republic when we want to change something — we were targeted for elimination from the digital public square simply for trying to be good citizens.”

Government Has Been Weaponized Against Its People

As mentioned, Fisher’s report will be presented to the U.S. House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan.

“He’s a very courageous man,” Fisher says, “because he is digging down in the testimony that’s being submitted. One of my references is ‘The Weaponization of CISA: How a ‘Cybersecurity’ Agency Colluded With Big Tech and ‘Disinformation’ Partners to Censor Americans’16 [an interim staff report of the subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government].

[CISA] is the cybersecurity agency within the Department of Health and Human Services. The testimony that’s already been submitted to that committee is phenomenal, and that testimony is in these more than 300 references that I have in the report.

I’m very glad I did it, but it was a sobering experience. I’m still trying to deal with what I learned, and I feel like everyone needs to understand that this is a moment in history when we have a choice to make. We are either going to stand up … and fight for our right to freedom of thought, speech and conscience, or we will live as slaves for the rest of this century.

It reads like a crime novel, and I feel like I’ve lived through it. And, look … we’re still standing. We’re still here, we’re still able, at least right now … to communicate online with our followers, through your newsletter, through the NVIC websites.

How long that’s going to last, I don’t know … because our websites have dropped by half in terms of visitors. We’re off of Facebook, we’re off of Instagram, we’re off of YouTube. All my commentaries for more than a decade, completely gone. When Elon Musk purchased Twitter … NVIC was restored to that platform, but other than that major platform, we’re blocked [everywhere].

And on December 21, 2021, 18 members of the U.S. House of Representatives from one political party wrote a letter to PayPal and told them to take me and NVIC off that platform, so that nobody could donate to NVIC through PayPal. I mean, this is an all-out assault, trying to obliterate a small nonprofit charity.

We’re a small charity, but we were able to strike a chord within many Americans and many legislators who understood the importance of protecting informed consent rights when it comes to taking a medical risk, in this case, a vaccine risk.”

A Great Awakening Is Underway

Following Fisher’s report, Dawn Richardson’s report on the NVIC’s legislative efforts in 2023 will be released. The good news there is that NVIC has tracked more than 1,000 legislative bills and posted more than 700 of them on the NVIC advocacy portal, and not a single state ended up passing a COVID vaccine mandate.

Also, no state passed a minor consent bill that would allow doctors to persuade children without their parents’ knowledge or consent to get vaccinated.

“There has been an awakening in the state legislatures,” Fisher says. “So, there are two times as many positive vaccine bills, which we supported, than negative vaccine bills. It’s an incredible story … It’s a miracle, with everything they’ve thrown against us …

So, I urge everybody to please tune in on November 1, when we release this report. Read it, share it with your friends and family, and please, we’ve been ghosted and we do need donations. We need your support to continue to do this work that we’ve been doing for 41 years.”

Who Benefits From the ‘Greater Good’ Narrative?

At the end of the day, the censorship of negative vaccine information comes down to protecting profits — pharmaceutical profits — even though lives will be lost in the process. In this sense, the vaccine agenda is very similar to the war industry, which sacrifices the lives of young men and women to protect private central bank interests. Fisher notes:

“For many years, I said it’s about ideology, and my dear husband would say, ‘No, Barbara, it’s about business, it’s about the money.’ Well, you know what? It is about money.

At the end of the day, this is about a pharmaceutical industry and their partners, including academia, including a lot of other institutions in society, who have decided that there will be no opposition to the mass use of vaccines — every vaccine that the pharmaceutical industry creates.

But vaccination has been used as a political tool, no question. And that’s where ideology comes in, this idea that you do not have the right to protect your bodily integrity, or that of your minor child; that you must take the risk for the good of society. That’s the utilitarian rationale, ‘for the greater good.’

A minority of people can be sacrificed in service to the rest … Well, that’s a very convenient ideology to adopt when you want power, and when you want to profit from the exploitation of people.

And that’s, to me, what it all comes down to: power and profit, and the people are the victims of this hierarchy that has been established globally, this infrastructure that those who have the wealth of the world are operating in …

I have been very focused on that pseudo-ethic and defending informed consent. But when I did this report, I went, ‘Wait a minute, this is about the money. Pure and simple, it’s business.’ And that’s disturbing.

I’m disturbed by the fact that so many institutions in society, particularly academic institutions, have been co-opted by the money. It is very dangerous. And really, we’ve got a melding of government with big business, which is fascism. It’s frightening, really, and needs to stop.

Government money should not be used to try to demonize people and drive them out of the public square. The whole issue of freedom of thought, speech and conscience is such a fundamental freedom issue, and I really hope that the report I’ve written will help open some people’s eyes to how the issue of vaccination has been used to try to discriminate against and silence people in the public square … 

The other thing that just blows my mind is, they have all these behavioral psychologists trying to figure out how to change everybody. All of these papers published in the academic journals are about ‘How can we figure out ways to change the values and beliefs of people who are resisting vaccination?’

Is that the role of government, really? Is the role of government to come in and try to screw around with your mind and your personal beliefs so that you’ll do what they want you to do? That’s truly Orwellian.”

Of course, the reason government is trying to brainwash people into using certain products is because their interests are the same as the corporations’ interests, which, again, is the very definition of fascism.

Push for Vaccine Mandates Has Backfired Big-Time

A silver lining to the devastating fiasco of the mRNA COVID shots is that Americans have finally realized that not only do they not work, but they’re also incredibly dangerous. As of October 12, 2023, only 7 million Americans had rolled up their sleeves to receive the latest reformulated mRNA shot.

Assuming the U.S. population is 340.47 million people,17 7 million is only about 2.06%, and an October 2023 study18 tells us the reason for this drop-off — 54.9% of previously jabbed people are skipping further boosters due to fears about their safety.

Another 39.5% are skipping it because they’ve already had COVID, 28.6% doubt the booster will provide additional protection over the shots already received, and 23.1% don’t believe it’ll protect them from infection.

But people are not only waking up to the potential risks of mRNA shots. They’re also starting to question the safety and effectiveness of conventional vaccines as well, which is the exact opposite of what all this censorship was intended to achieve.

“The polls are showing a lessening of confidence in vaccination because of what they did with the COVID vaccine,” Fisher says. “So, a lot of people are just going to skip that flu shot this year.

There’s an uneasiness about vaccination right now, and I think it’s their own fault. It’s the fault of the federal agencies and the pharmaceutical companies that tried to oversell this product, tried to make everybody afraid that they were going to die if they didn’t get it.

There was like an 80% uptake in this country of one COVID shot. That’s a huge, huge uptake. However, now, on the fifth booster people are just saying, ‘I don’t think so.’ So, Pfizer announced this week that they’re having to cut $3 billion in expenses and in staff, et cetera, because they are not able to meet the projections for their stockholders of the uptake of the COVID booster.”

Consumer Advocacy Is Essential

In closing, it’s important to realize just how impactful the NVIC has been over the past 41 years, and why it’s so essential to support its continued work.

“If NVIC had not formed in 1982, if we had not gone into the states in 2010 and educated legislators on this issue and worked with families in the states, this country would’ve had a COVID vaccine mandate for children. I don’t have any question in my mind about that,” Fisher says.

“The combination of education and advocacy has absolutely changed the landscape of the mandatory vaccination infrastructure in this country. And it was done because parents of vaccine injured children decided that their children were not an acceptable sacrifice.

This is an important point, because all of the groups that have formed since 1982, particularly in the last 10 years, are riding on the back of the ground that we plowed. And I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied about that because our influence has allowed other groups to form and be bigger megaphones to warn people that this is a problem.

The mandatory vaccination system is not humane, it’s not something that should be allowed. You cannot throw people under the bus. You have to care and value every life. And despite all of this persecution and all of this ghosting and removal from online platforms, we are still standing. I feel very much that you, and all the people who have donated to us over the years, played a huge role in helping us survive.”

GAZA: Mis-Conceptualizing the Conflict, Miscomprehending the Enemy

One of the reasons that the conflict with the Palestinian-Arabs in general and Gazan Arabs in particular, has dragged on for years, is that Israel has failed to conceptualize the conflict correctly.

There is a prevailing myth that the general population in Gaza is the hapless victim of its radical leadership. This is demonstrably false.

Crucible, not victim

Indeed, the population in Gaza is not the victim of its Islamist leaders! On the contrary, it is the crucible in which that leadership was forged and from which it emerged.

Nothing can underscore the gruesome truth of that assertion more indelibly than this excerpt from a chilling telephone conversation between an elated Gazan terrorist and his enthralled parents—rejoicing over the slaughter of Israeli civilians.

TERRORIST: Hello Dad. Dad Open your WhatsApp right now and see…how many I killed with my own hands. Your son killed Jews.

FATHER: God is great God is great. May God protect you.

TERRORIS: [F]ather. I am talking to you from the phone of a Jew, I killed her and her husband, I killed ten with my own hands.

FATHER: God is great.

TERRORIST:       I killed ten. Ten! Ten with my own bare hands. Their blood is on my hands, let me talk to Mom.

MOTHER: Oh, my son, may God protect you.

TERRORIST: I killed ten all by myself, mother.

MOTHER: I wish I was there with you.

This is the nature of the enemy. This is the human condition—or rather the inhuman condition with which Israel is compelled to contend.

Nothing as practical as good theory

This failure of Israeli society to grasp the true dimensions—the depth, and durability—of Arab rejection of Jewish sovereignty has long been reflected in both its domestic policy and in its foreign policy towards the nation’s Arab adversaries. Nowhere is this failing more glaring than in Israeli policy toward the Palestinian-Arabs in general, and toward the Arabs of Gaza in particular.

At this point, we would do well to recall the wise dictum of eminent social psychologist, Kurt Leven, who observed: “There is nothing so practical as a good theory.” After all, action, without comprehension is a little like swinging a hammer without knowing where the nails are, just as hazardous—and just as harmful. In this regard, good theory creates an understanding of cause and effect and hence facilitates effective policy.

Accordingly, to devise effective policy to contend with abiding Arab enmity, Israel must correctly conceptualize the conflict over the issue of Jewish sovereignty in the Holy Land.

Archetypical zero-sum game

The unvarnished truth is that—correctly conceptualized—the conflict between the Jews and the Palestinian-Arabs over the control of the Holy Land is a clash between two rival collectives, with irreconcilable foundational narratives.

They are irreconcilable because the raison d’etre of the one is the preservation of Jewish political sovereignty in the Holy Land, while the raison d’etre of the other is the annulment of Jewish political sovereignty in the Holy Land—thus generating irreconcilable visions of homeland.

As such, the conflict between the Jews and the Palestinian-Arabs is an archetypical zero-sum game, in which the side’s gains inevitably imply the other side’s loss.

As such it is a clash involving protagonists with antithetical and mutually exclusive core objectives. Only one can emerge victorious; the other vanquished. There are no consolation prizes!

Consequently, as a clash of collectives, whose outcome will be determined by collective victory or defeat, it cannot be personalized. The fate of individual members of one collective cannot be a deciding determinant of the policy of the rival collective—and certainly, not a consideration that impacts the probability of collective victory or defeat.

Grudgingly accepted or greatly feared?

Thus, Israel’s survival imperative must dictate that it forgo any expectation of eventual approval from the Arabs. For the foreseeable future, this seductive illusion will remain an unattainable pipe dream. Rather, Israel must reconcile itself to the stern, but sober, conclusion: The most it can realistically hope for is to be grudgingly accepted; the least it must attain is to be greatly feared.

Any more benign policy goals are a recipe for disaster.

To underscore the crucial importance of this seemingly harsh assessment, I would invite any prospective dissenter to consider the consequences of Jewish defeat and Arab victory. Indeed, a cursory survey of the gory regional realities should suffice to drive home the significance of what would accompany such an outcome.

Accordingly, only once a decisive Jewish collective victory has been achieved, can the issue of individual injustice and suffering in the Arab collective be addressed as a policy consideration. Until then, neither the individual well-being nor the societal welfare of the opposing collective can be considered a primary policy constraint.

After all, had the imperative of collective victory not been the overriding factor of the Allies’ strategy in WWII, despite the horrendous civilian causalities that it inflicted on the opposing collective, the world might well have been living in slavery today.

In weighing the question of the fate of individual members of the opposing collective, it is imperative to reiterate the point made at the start of this column: the Palestinian-Arab collective is not the hapless victim of radical terror-affiliated leaders. Quite the opposite. It is, in fact, the societal crucible in which they were forged, and from which they emerged. Indeed, its leadership is a reflection of, not an imposition on, Palestinian-Arab society.

Accordingly, the Palestinian-Arab collective must be considered an implacable enemy—not a prospective peace partner…and it must be treated as such.

‘It’s a New Day’: Mike Johnson Brings Principles and Purpose to Speakership

While D.C. politicos scramble to figure out who House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is, here at Family Research Council, we needed no introduction. To most of us, the young-looking Louisiana lawyer represents the best the movement has to offer. “He’s a social conservative’s conservative,” Politico pointed out in a lengthy piece about his relationship with FRC. But more than that, he’s a man who deeply loves God and this country. So as senators like Susan Collins (R-Maine) turn to Google to find out who the new speaker is, we can tell you simply: he’s the real deal.

My boss, FRC President Tony Perkins, met Mike more than two decades ago when the future speaker was just an up-and-coming law student at LSU. During Tony’s days in the Louisiana legislature, the two crossed paths a lot, eventually working together on a blockbuster bill that became one of the first abortion clinic regulation laws in the country.

“You mentioned how far back we go,” Johnson said in an interview on “Washington Watch” a couple years ago. “I saw you as a young state legislator, and I remember that your banner and your motto when you ran for office was ‘raising the standard.’ And that resonated with me, because I felt that same call on my life. And in so many ways, Tony, you were a huge influence on my life. I saw that you could do it. … [Other] people that I knew [also] did it right and did it well, and they followed the Lord first. And it showed in all their work and their life and their family. And that was a great encouragement to me.”

As Johnson alluded to in his speech before the House chamber Wednesday, the road to Congress was paved by his God-fearing parents. “I was blessed,” he emphasized to Tony. “I was raised in a Christian household, and my parents — I was actually the conception of a teenage pregnancy my parents’ junior year in high school. And they dropped out, decided to have me, and keep me. And that’s why I’m so pro-life today. I’m a living example of faithfulness. … They just trusted God.”

And made sacrifices. “My dad went to work early. They didn’t finish high school. Then he went back later, got his GED, but I don’t have any memory of not being a Christian,” Mike said. “I got saved when I was seven years old. I got baptized in a horse trough out behind our old country church in northwest Louisiana. And I was just raised to know and understand and believe that faith is very real. And it was just part of the fabric of our family, and who we are.”

But the fabric of that family was tested when Mike was just 12. His dad, an assistant chief for the Shreveport, Louisiana fire department, was a training officer. “And on September 17th, 1984,” he remembers, “he went into work on a hazardous materials leak in a cold storage plant. And the building blew up. He was burned 80% of his body, third-degree burns — and given a 5% chance to live. His co-captain died in the fire, so it was a terrible tragedy. [But] God miraculously saved my dad’s life.”

“He had a long journey back,” Mike said. “He lived another 30 years. And he was in pain every day — but he survived. … I was the oldest of four kids in my family,” he pointed out. “[And I learned that] our faith was real. … God saved my dad’s life … and I just knew that prayer worked. So that’s never left me. It’s been with me my whole life.”

When Tony asked Mike what surprised him most about his time in Congress, he replied that his answer was “kind of a sad one.” “I was surprised to see that many members of Congress are elected to serve, and they don’t truly have a fully formed philosophy of government. Some of them are not even crystal clear on what their worldview is, you know? And so it has an effect on their work and the decisions they make. … If you don’t have a fully formed philosophy of government, if you don’t have your principles set in stone … before you get there, then you’re going to be easy prey for all the influences that are out there.”

That’s why, he says, he’s been trying to encourage his colleagues to think about what it means to be a Christian in public service. “The only seedbed of virtue,” Johnson insisted, “is in religious faith. I mean, men have to understand that they owe an allegiance to a higher power, and they have a judge that is above all others. And that is what has guided our country since its founding. And that’s what’s going to continue to guide it. So we shouldn’t make apology for it. We should go out and live that boldly and encourage others to do the same.”

He owes that strength of conviction to a number of people who encouraged him along the way. “I had a mentor when I was really young, [and he] told me one time — he said, ‘Mike, you know what? Always remember this: What is popular isn’t always right, and what is right isn’t always popular.’ And we have to remember that even in politics, you know, highest levels of elected office in the country, that’s a pretty simple axiom that everybody needs to follow.”

Now, Johnson is passing that advice along to his four children — and all of the young leaders he meets. At the time, his son, Jack, was just starting high school, and he wanted to make sure that his son was firmly rooted in truth. “I said, ‘Listen, I want you to be real intentional about this. You know, the calling of a Christian young man or young woman is that you are not called to be a thermometer. You’re called to be a thermostat. What does that mean, Jack? You know, what does a thermometer do? Well, a thermometer goes into a new environment, takes a temperature, and adjusts to it. That’s not what we do. The Christian young man or woman is called to be an atmosphere changer, to be a thermostat. So you walk in, and you hold that standard, raise the standard.’”

At the end of the day, Mike said, “You live according to that truth that you know, and it will change the atmosphere you’re in. And people will look to you. … [They’re] dying for truth and authenticity. They want to know that there really is an absolute … that there’s a standard.” He pointed to Chronicles 6:9. “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the whole earth, seeking those whose hearts are holy, committed. There’s only a few in every generation, but if you’ll do that, God will give you His blessing. He’ll give you His platform. His promotion principles will set in place, and He’ll give you things that will amaze everyone.”

They were prophetic words for a man whose heart is holy, whose God has just given him that enormous platform he spoke of. And yet, back in January, Mike would have been the last to guess that when he and a handful of Republicans knelt in the House chamber to pray for the speakership, they would ultimately be paving the road to him.

As Tony said in a Newsmax interview Wednesday, America can be proud to have a man of substance at the helm. “That’s why he’s the first speaker, I think since 2011, to have unanimous support from his colleagues on the Republican side. … I’ve known Mike for 25 years, and he is going to be an excellent speaker for the times in which we live.”

Looking back on the arc of their long friendship, he said with pride, “He has a sense of purpose, and that comes from his faith. … And this is what’s important, because in politics this has gotten lost. It’s really about people. And he cares about people,” Tony insisted. “… He told me this morning, I was talking to him as he was working on his speech, and he said, ‘It’s a new day. They’re going to see a new thing in this Congress.’”

And those of us who admire him believe it.

Biden’s Leadership Wins Approval . . . From Russia, China, and Iran

Iranian regime proxies have launched 14 attacks against U.S. servicemen and installations across the Middle East since Hamas unleashed its murderous slaughter of Israeli civilians on October 7. More than two dozen Americans have been injured, and the U.S. did nothing.

Finally, on Thursday, the U.S. struck back.

What did the world’s most powerful military, backed by the world’s most expensive intelligence-gathering network, do?

We sent two F-16s to drop bombs on a pair of ammo dumps used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps near Abu Kamal, Syria, not far from the U.S. base in al-Tanf that the Iranians have struck repeatedly.

The Israelis conduct similar air strikes in Syria four times a week. We wait until we have been attacked fourteen times before we launch just one.

If that weren’t enough, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced that “the United States does not seek conflict and has no intention nor desire to engage in further hostilities.”

You can bet the Iranians are very impressed by that statement.

The Chinese and Russians are similarly impressed. The Russians met with leaders from Hamas and Iran this week, no doubt calling the newest ISIS affiliate to “exercise restraint.”

(Sorry, I was being sarcastic. They did no such thing. In fact, the Russians and the Chinese both backed Hamas at the United Nations this week, leaving the U.S. once-again flat-footed).

We also learned this week that Team Biden has “invited” – their words – the Chinese to get more engaged in the Middle East as the U.S. seeks to distance itself from the region.

That’s like asking the arsonist to come back for cocktails after he burned down your house in the morning.

President Biden has been speaking out of all sides of his mouth on the Hamas atrocities. While Israelis, in their grief, saw him as supportive during his brief appearance with Prime Minister Netanyahu recently, we now know that he demanded Israel delay or outright suspend its ground invasion of Gaza.

Just yesterday, Biden met in the White House with three top American Hamas-supporters, including the Minnesota Attorney General, Keith Ellison and the head of the largest Muslim Brotherhood lobbying group in America, the Islamic Society of North America.

He promised them he would push Israel for a ceasefire  and would deliver US aid to Gaza, where it will be immediately commandeered by Hamas

If there is a silver lining to any of this it’s this: Americans overwhelming support Israel, and have been outraged to witness the pro-Hamas demonstrations on our city streets and on the campuses of our most prestigious universities.

Those pro-Hamas protestors are a key constituent of Biden’s Democrat Party, which partially explains why Biden constantly kisses their kerchiefs. Let’s hope Americans remember that in the next election.

Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota launched a White House bid during a CBS News interview released Thursday evening, challenging President Joe Biden in 2024.

Phillips had been weighing a run for months, citing concerns over Biden’s age and electability, as well as the lack of alternatives in the Democratic field. The congressman announced his presidential campaign during an interview with CBS News’ Robert Costa where he insisted 2024 needs to be “about the future.”

“I am. I have to,” Phillips told Costa when asked if he’s running for president. “I think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country. But it’s not about the past. This is an election about the future. I will not sit still I will not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying that we’re going to be facing an emergency next November.”

Phillips recently reached out to the New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley, and approached potential staffers to build his campaign’s operation within the state ahead of his launch.

Phillips was one of the first elected Democrats to warn against Biden running for reelection when he called for a “generational change” in July 2022. The congressman has also expressed concern that Biden’s candidacy could hand the White House back to former President Donald Trump, who has been leading the president for a potential 2024 rematch in a series of recent national and battleground state polls.

The RealClearPolitics average for a 2024 national Democratic primary, based on polls conducted between Oct. 12 and Oct. 23, indicates Biden has 70.3% support, followed by self-help author Marianne Williamson at 9%. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was polling around 14% prior to his campaign’s switch from Democrat to independent on Oct. 9.

Phillips stepped down from his position as co-chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee on Oct. 1 ahead of his presidential announcement, citing “convictions” he held about the 2024 election.

The congressman was first elected in 2018 when he ousted Republican Rep. Erik Paulsen 56% to 44%, and most recently secured reelection in 2022 by nearly 20 points. Phillips is also a businessman who opened a coffee shop, helped build a gelato company and headed his family’s distillery.

Finally, The New York Times Begrudgingly Admits It Was Wrong About the Gaza Hospital Attack

When there was an explosion at the parking lot at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza last week, the New York Times was quick — much too quick, rather — heedless, off the mark, claiming that an Israeli airstrike was to blame for the attack “on the hospital,” and that nearly 500 people were killed. How did the Times know? It didn’t. It simply acted as a dutiful amanuensis, transcribing what Hamas dictated to its reporters. It ran with their account of the incident, without waiting for the Israelis to provide their detailed explanation of the blast. Within a matter of hours, Israel responded with its version of events: first, it said that an errant rocket fired by Palestinian Islamic Jihad had caused the explosion; second, the explosion was not in the hospital, which was largely unscathed, but in the parking lot of the hospital; third, that while it could not provide an exact figure, it believed there were far fewer than 500 people killed. But the damage was done. The Times had put out the story as Hamas wanted it, and Israel suffered terribly in the kangaroo court of public opinion.

Now, many days after it became crystal clear, through visual and audio evidence, including a view of the very small depression left by the blast, and after the American government, conducting its own forensic investigation, determined that Israel’s version of the incident was correct, the Grey Lady finally, albeit reluctantly, has had to admit it was wrong. The Times did not, of course, apologize for such an egregious and grievous error, nor take note of the likely violent consequences of disseminating that false claim, which in fact cam quickly to pass, with violent anti-Israel demonstrations all over the Arab and Muslim world. The Times is far too arrogant an institution to do that. More on how the high-and-mighty New York Times was brought low when it had to admit its error in the way it had covered the “hospital blast” story, can be found here: “NYT admits error in Gaza hospital report,” by Matt Berg, Politico, October 23, 2023:

The New York Times walked back its initial coverage on the explosion that killed hundreds of Palestinians at a Gaza Strip hospital last week, saying in an editors’ note that the newspaper “relied too heavily on claims” made by the Hamas militant group.

Just “an editors’ note”? On an inside page? The admission of its error ought by rights to have appeared where the misleading report had appeared — that is, on the front page, and in the same size type as the original.

Soon after a huge blast rocked the al-Ahli Hospital on Tuesday, finger-pointing over its source began.

Hamas, which has been battling Israel since its Oct. 7 surprise attack on Israeli soil, called the blast a “horrific massacre” and blamed the Israeli government. Israel, however, blamed the Islamic Jihad, a smaller, more radical group that often works with Hamas….

“The Times’s initial accounts attributed the claim of Israeli responsibility to Palestinian officials, and noted that the Israeli military said it was investigating the blast,” reads the Times’ editors’ note published on Monday. Early coverage “relied too heavily on claims by Hamas, and did not make clear that those claims could not immediately be verified.”

It took the Times six full days, from when the Israeli and American governments had presented their separate conclusions that Israel was blameless and that an errant rocket, launched from Gaza by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, had caused the “parking lot blast.” Why so long? What is it that makes the Times so reluctant to own up to its errors?

The newspaper’s coverage had a clear impact, according to the note: “The report left readers with an incorrect impression about what was known and how credible the account was.”…

That’s too weak. Make it stronger: “All the evidence supports Israel’s version of the incident.” Israel has explained, and provided the evidence, for what happened. The visuals show the rocket coming from Gaza toward Israel, and then suddenly breaking up, then heading downward and landing on the ground where the light of an explosion can be seen. And we have, too, the recorded telephone conversation of two Hamas operatives, discussing the fact that the rocket was fired by Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Why doesn’t the Times mention any of that in its “Editors’ Note”?

Five days ago, PBS presented Israel’s version of the cause of the blast. Three days ago the AP accepted Israel’s version after Washington had confirmed it. Two days ago, it was CNN that held Israel blameless. But the New York Times waited until six days had passed, long after everyone in the Western world had learned that the American government, having conducted its own investigation, had concluded that Israel was blameless.

Here was what National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson tweeted the day after the blast: “While we continue to collect information, our current assessment, based on analysis of overhead imagery, intercepts and open source information, is that Israel is not responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday.”

The Times stopped short of an apology for its initial coverage but said editors should have been more careful with the way the blast was represented….

Here’s what one would have wished from the Times: a full-throated, unbegrudging apology for the haste of its initial report, its credulous acceptance of a Hamas libel, and its unwillingness to wait just a few hours for Israel’s response. Surely it knew that putting the blame on Israel was likely to cause, and did cause, outbursts of anti-Israel hate all over the Arab and Muslim lands. Nor does the Times explain why the admission of its mistake came so many days after everyone else had admitted that Israel’s explanation of the blast was correct. Why was that? Perhaps the Times can assign a reporter to provide an “anatomy of an error ” to supplement that “Editor’s Note,” so that readers can find out exactly how, and why, that initial mistaken report came to be.

House Speaker Mike Johnson ‘Radiates the Love of Jesus,’ Conservatives Laud

House Republicans have selected “a tremendous man of God,” “a strong Christian,” a “servant leader,” and a “genuinely nice guy” by elevating Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) to the position of Speaker of the House, according to those closest to the legislator.

After 22 days without their top leader, House Republicans elected Johnson speaker by a 220-209 vote on Wednesday, winning the unanimous support of the chamber’s Republicans. All 209 dissenting votes went to House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). Johnson needed only 215 votes, as 429 congressmen were present; Rep. Vicente Gonzalez Jr. (R-Texas), Lou Correa (R-Calif.), and Derrick Van Orden (R-Wisc.) did not attend the vote.

“It is the honor of a lifetime to have been elected the 56th Speaker of the House,” said Johnson moments after his victory. “It has been an arduous few weeks, and a reminder that the House is as complicated and diverse as the people we represent.”

“I don’t believe there are any coincidences in a matter like this. I believe that Scripture, the Bible is very clear that God is the One that raises up those in authority. He raised up each of you, all of us. And I believe that God has ordained and allowed each one of us to be brought here for this specific moment and this time,” Johnson continued. “I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts that God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great country — and they deserve it — and to ensure that our republic remains standing as the great beacon of light and hope and freedom in a world that desperately needs it.”

He went on to note previous generations chose the national motto, “In God we trust,” as “a rebuke of the Cold War-era philosophy of the Soviet Union. That philosophy was Marxism and communism which begins with the premise that there is no God,” a “critical distinction” between atheistic socialism and our faith-based democratic republic.” America’s founders, said Johnson, believed “all men are created equal — not born equal, created equal,” and Americans need to “remember our creed.” He also shared that he was once inspired by seeing the carving of the face of Moses, which adorns the chamber.

Johnson took a moment to praise the faithful Christians in his life, as well. After acknowledging his colleagues, Johnson thanked his four children and wife, Kelly — an adviser to Louisiana Right to Life, teacher, and Christian counselor who had not yet gotten a flight to the nation’s capital to be at his side. “She spent the last couple of weeks on her knees, in prayer to the Lord, and she’s a little worn out,” he explained. After remembering his late father, a Shreveport fireman, Johnson said, “I want to thank my faithful mother, Jeanne Johnson, who bore me at the age of 17.”

Johnson directly quoted the Bible at a conference on Capitol Hill after the vote. “I was reminded of the Scripture that says suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. What this country needs is more hope,” he said. “Congress over the years has not delivered for the American people enough.”

Prayer has been a recurrent theme of Johnson’s decisions about who should to serve as Speaker of the House. “In January, [Rep. Mike Johnson] joined me on the House floor while we were in a deadlock over who our next Speaker would be. We lifted up the speaker’s race to the Lord and asked for his divine guidance. Immediately after the prayer, 14 members changed their votes, ultimately leading to Speaker McCarthy securing the gavel by the end of the day,” noted Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) two hours before the vote. “Mike Johnson is a strong conservative, but above all else, he is a strong Christian. He’s not afraid to look to his faith for guidance.”

“America needs that more than ever in the U.S. House,” noted Steube.

In his announcement for speaker, Johnson wrote that only “after much prayer and deliberation, I am stepping forward now.” On Tuesday night, Johnson’s first act after winning the Republican conference’s nomination was to ask his fellow Republicans to join him in prayer.

The Johnson family attends Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana, where Pastor John Fream described the new Speaker of the House as “a tremendous man of God, a historian, constitutional expert, biblical scholar and great family man,” as well as a “humble servant” who — together with his wife, Kelly — is “willing to follow the Lord wherever and however He leads.”

‘We’ve Been Praying for This’

Praise rained in on Johnson, the 51-year-old vice chair of the House Republican conference, for his voting record, faith, personality, and willingness to stand up for a biblical worldview.

Johnson “radiates the love of Christ,” Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) told “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins” on Wednesday. The new Speaker of the House is “full of love of Jesus,” in addition to being an “effective scholar.” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) noted Johnson’s “faith that drives him so deeply that some actually mock him,” but he holds to “the principles that make this country great.” He predicted the American “people are going to come to know and love what he represents.” Others praised Johnson’s low-key personality. “Mike epitomizes servant leadership,” said Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) — who spoke on behalf of Reps. Kevin McCarthy, Scalise, Jim Jordan, and Johnson during speaker votes.

“I’m so proud of Mike,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins told Newsmax on Wednesday afternoon. “I’ve known Mike for 25 years, and he’s going to be an excellent speaker for the times in which we live. … He has sense of purpose, and that comes from his faith. He’s a strong believer.” Perhaps most importantly, Johnson “cares about people,” said Perkins. “It’s going to be a new day” in the nation’s capital.

American Family Radio host Rick Green described Johnson as “a champion for liberty … This man has a biblical worldview.”

“We’ve been praying for this. We’ve been praying for leaders who have a fear of God” and “a biblical foundation of truth,” said Green. “This is a moment to stop what you’re doing and thank God for this.”

A Conviction Politician

Since his election to Congress in 2016, Mike Johnson has earned a lifetime FRC Action score of 99.4%, reflecting his sterling pro-life, pro-family voting record. Last October, Johnson introduced the Stop Sexualization of Children Act, which would have barred federal funding from any sexually oriented school material intended for children under the age of 10. “[P]arents and legal guardians have the right and responsibility to determine where, if, when, and how their children are exposed to material of a sexual nature,” it states.

In House hearings, Johnson has strongly denounced transgender surgeries on minors as “barbarism. This is the mutilation of children, and it should be prohibited by our law. … This is adults deciding to permanently alter the bodies of children who do not have the capacity to make life-altering decisions on their own.” Johnson called the extreme gender ideology underlying these experimental surgeries “nightmarish and surreal.”

Johnson has acted as lead sponsor of pro-life legislation, as well. Johnson “has boldly championed life as an activist, litigator, state legislator, and as a member of Congress,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Rep. Mike Johnson is a pro-life champion with an A+ on SFLAction’s Pro-Life Generation Report Card,” said SLFAction President Kristan Hawkins. Speaker Johnson “will make the right to life and protecting women and their unborn children a priority in Congress,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life.

That record also earned him the ire of the abortion lobby. Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America) branded Johnson “a dangerous threat to reproductive freedom, just like the rest of his caucus.” EMILY’s List stated, “Unlike the new speaker, we know abortion care is health care.”

Other Democrats denounced Johnson for his defense of biblical marriage and sexual morality. Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.), who openly identifies as a lesbian, shouted “Happy anniversary to my wife!” as she voted for Jeffries during Johnson’s successful speaker vote. House Democrats applauded her outburst.

A constitutional attorney, Johnson advised President Donald Trump during both impeachments. He has voted against every transfer of U.S. taxpayer funds to the government of Ukraine, which has cracked down on religious liberty. And he noted that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to rip up the official copy of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address constituted a felony. “He will be a great Speaker of the House,” said Donald Trump after the election, calling Johnson “a tremendous leader” who is “going to make us all proud.” Trump, who previously endorsed Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), promptly noted that he had “put out the word” for others to back Johnson before the vote.

Johnson is an across-the-board conservative who earned a 90% score from the Heritage Action scorecard, as well as an A+ from SBA Pro-Life America, 72% from Freedom Index (constitutional order), and 90% from the immigration watchdog NumbersUSA. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) called Johnson “a fellow conservative and a man of deep Christian faith.” Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, attested that Johnson is “a proven conservative who is honorable, smart, and will do a great job leading the House Republican Conference.”

Before his election to Congress, Johnson served as a national spokesman for the Alliance Defending Freedom and a trustee of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), then led by conservative scholar Dr. Richard Land. A constitutional attorney and onetime talk show host, Johnson won FRC’s “Family, Family, and Freedom Award” in 2005 for successfully defending his state’s constitutional marriage protection amendment before the Louisiana Supreme Court. As a Louisiana legislator, he proposed a Marriage and Conscience Act, which would not allow politicians to withhold or cancel the state occupational licenses of workers with a religious objection to same-sex marriage.

“Some people are called to pastoral ministry and others to music ministry, etc. I was called to legal ministry, and I’ve been out on the front lines of the ‘culture war’ defending religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and biblical values,” explained Johnson to a Louisiana Baptist newspaper when he first ran for national office in 2016.

Johnson became the fourth Speaker of the House candidate endorsed by the House Republicans, who had previously nominated  Scalise, Jordan, and Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.). Emmer, one of just 39 House Republicans to vote twice for the so-called “Respect for Marriage” Act, withdrew without proceeding to a floor vote hours after winning the nomination. Former President Donald Trump came out swinging against Emmer, saying the “Republican Party cannot take that chance,” because “America First voters” will not support “a Globalist RINO [Republican In Name Only] like Tom Emmer.”

An Ambitious Agenda to Rebuild America as Speaker of the House

In his victory speech, Johnson laid out an ambitious agenda to rebuild American strength and regain the trust of the American people, which he said Congress stands “in jeopardy” of losing. “A strong America is good for the entire world. We are the beacon of freedom, and we must preserve this grand experiment in self-governance,” he said.

Johnson referred to rising international tensions in Israel and China, as well as soaring prices, and interest and mortgage rates at home. Johnson “has a keen understanding of the threat posed by China and the urgent need to pass legislation to counter the CCP, including important trade policy issues like tariffs and repealing China’s Most Favored Nation Status,” said Michael Stumo of the Coalition for a Prosperous America. Two-thirds of voters were more likely to support a candidate who favors tougher economic policies and higher tariffs against China; and 66% of voters say the Pentagon “needs to do more to prepare for military threats from China,” although a plurality oppose sending U.S. troops to fight the People’s Liberation Army on behalf of Taiwan, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Johnson then mentioned the porous southern border, which had led to an unprecedented influx of fentanyl and a record-breaking number of American overdose deaths. “The status quo is unacceptable. Inaction is unacceptable, and we must come together and address the broken border,” he said to massive applause from the chamber’s Republicans.

“The greatest threat to our national security is our nation’s debt,” which now stands at more than $33 trillion and increased $20 million during his relatively brief speech. He promised to form a bipartisan commission on reducing the national debt and “bring relief to the American people by reining in federal spending and bringing down inflation.”

“We will defend our core principles to the end,” he said, citing “the seven core principles of American conservatism”: individual freedom, limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and human dignity.

Johnson promised to return to normal order on the nation’s budget and appropriations process, to decentralize power away from the speaker’s office, and to preside over an ethical and transparent tenure as speaker.

“Our system of government is not a perfect system. It’s got a lot of challenges, but it’s still the best one in the world, and we have an opportunity to preserve it,” Johnson exhorted Congress. “The time for action is now, and I will not let you down.”

“Let the enemies of freedom around the world hear us loud and clear: The people’s House is back in business!”

Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) then swore in Johnson as the 56th Speaker of the House.

Rep. Roy summed up the Republican Party conference’s consensus with one word: “Onward.”

…and the KGB in the White House

Those words of the title are not mine, they belong to my friend Vlad, a KGB man, in a warning to me a year before my emigration to the U.S. In America, it was the time of Carter’s administration and my friend Vlad, the KGB man, gave me a menacing picture of America’s future in our conversation, while walking along a Leningrad street in 1979:

“Please remember, America is in turmoil. It’s losing its moral compass. I’ve already told you that it is under the constant assault of Soviet Intelligence, which has infiltrated every facet of American society—the government, the arts, the unions, organized crime even played a role in the demise of the Nixon presidency. If these events progress in the same direction in ten years from now, the American treasury will be empty, like ours, the city streets full of crime, and the KGB in the White House.” He said it in one forceful breath…

At the time, listening to him, I felt threatened and intimidated, but nevertheless, I emigrated a year after that meeting with the man. Because the agenda, the objectives, and motivation of the Soviet Intelligence were clear to me: destruction of America and Western civilization by all means possible. It was then in the winter of 1979 when I also heard for the first time these two words put together: Soviet Fascism. Intimidated, tormented and threatened by those two words, I wanted to cast them from my memory forever. Forty years have passed by since then, and I am a different person now, an American citizen who dearly loves my adopted country. Beside my personal experiences, I learned a great deal of information about America and my mission is absolutely clear to me—defend America by writing about Soviet Fascism and identifying the evil ideology to educate all Americans. I have done it in all my books and columns during last decades.

I gave you that conversation with Vlad, the KGB man for a reason, because I see my America again in turmoil and losing its moral compass forty years later. Yet, the objectives, motivation, and agenda of Russian Intelligence remains the same.

Moreover, the predictions of the KGB man are coming true on all accounts as stated forty years ago: our treasury is almost empty, our streets are full of crime and the KGB in the White House. I am referring to Barack Obama’s presidency and drastic changes in the Democrat Party and American culture during the last forty years…

The first two points are obvious, the third one I have been writing about for the last thirty years—Soviet/Russian infiltration into all strata of our society. The Deep State of the KGB on American Soil

Today, in June 2017, forty years later, my great concern is still our national security. I’m watching how the Democrats are waging a total war against Trump’s administration and against the President himself. It is a real witch hunt. They are ill-informed, incompetent, and missing the golden opportunity to confront the Democrat Party, the enemy within. Fortunately, some decent and knowledgeable Republican leaders are quite vocal, disturbed by this fraud.

The best lawyer in the country Alan Dershowitz is right: “We can’t judge a person without evidence, like Stalin did.” Socialist Maxine Waters doesn’t understand that.

Yet, there is nothing wrong with the American system, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg! You should read my books and learn the evil nature of the ideology your Socialist professors didn’t teach you, and you are not the only one inculcated with Socialist propaganda and made up narratives. Unfortunately, two/thirds of Millennials do not know the true Socialism, they are defrauded by Political Correctness and can’t recognize the evil ideology. It is unthinkable in the country of the First Amendment to see how the students are rioting and fighting free speech on campuses and universities. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Davin Nunes, to a certain degree, confirms my ideas. Davin Nunes is right. We are witnessing a typical KGB policy of Disinformation, executed by the Democrat Party to cover up the crimes committed. It is a fishing expedition by the Democrats to accuse Trump’s team and divert attention from the DNC leadership and the crimes committed by them …

The Betrayal of American Interests

If you haven’t read my books and don’t know historical events that were handed to us by the Democrats, let me give you a few examples for your judgment. Obama wasn’t the first, who collaborated with Soviet/Russian Intelligence, Bill Clinton was the first one.  I didn’t like Bill Clinton since I have seen him among a group of the Russian youngsters, organized by the KGB. Then, I found out that Clinton lived in the family of the KGB’s members in Moscow in 1970s. All of that gave me a real picture of the man. Later it was the election, where a suspicious threat to Ross Perrot made Bill Clinton the U.S. President in 1992. His connection with Russia has always alarmed me. His presidency just doubled my dislike to him, as an enormous harm had been done to America. I have dedicated pages in my books to the activities of the Clinton mafia…

Bill Clinton paved the way for a Nuclear North Korea in 1994. “Democratic president’s 1994 deal making with Pyongyang started a process that led to ICBM capabilities.” Today, in June 2017 we are threatened by that militant regime, created by Stalin in 1948. North Korea has been Russia’s marionette since then. The Trump administration is timely voicing alarm bells as North Korea inches closer to having a nuclear missile capable of reaching Hawaii or the West Coast of the United States.

“The North Korean deal of 1994 is the prototype for why open societies should not negotiate arms control agreements with rogue regimes.” Jim Stinson, updated March 2017. Reading the piece, you will find all the details of Clinton’s deal making with the Stalinist regime. One foreign-policy expert said he traces North Korea’s current saber-rattling to a nuclear deal made two decades ago by President Bill Clinton. And reading my books, we will find me talking about the Russian connection for the last twenty-five years.

There is another event that deserves attention and deep thinking about the Clinton Mafia. Do you remember Monica’s “blue dress?” I have found an interesting chronology connected to the “blue dress” in 1998. The FBI asked for Clinton’s blood sample to compare it with the sperm’s stain on the “blue dress,” three days later the terrorists committed two tragic blasts of American Embassies in Africa. Don’t tell me about the coincidences in life. It was the “work” of the Russian connection to divert attention from Clinton and “the blue dress.”

Pay attention to the Russian behavior in the management of diverting attention from the criminals connected to them. I gave you a lot of similar examples in Socialist Lies. Today we have a witch hunt of President Trump to connect him to Russia and to divert attention from the Obama administration and the Democrat Party… Let me give you another example of betraying the American interests and aiding the enemy. In the above mentioned book, Socialist Lies, I analyzed many events when Obama betrayed American interests to benefit Russia. Here is an interesting knot of events to confirm that.

I believe there was a connection between NATO’s actions in Libya and the presidential election in France in 2012. Do you remember a scandal of Dominique Strauss-Khan in the New York Hotel? It was during the time of a presidential election in France and Dominique Strauss Khan was ahead of President Sarkozy. Reading my books, you know that Russia wanted to monopolize the sources of oil in the world. You also know my opinion that all terrorist groups run by Russia are united by the ideology of Soviet Fascism.

Putin used the situation in Libya to continue destabilization of the region in 2012. To convince Obama was not difficult for Putin. In my interpretation of the events, Putin offered Sarkozy to eliminate Strauss Khan for a certain favors from Sarkozy, the latter agreed and Libya’s fate was decided. NATO got trapped in a middle of civil war in Libya. Putin wanted Libya’s oil and destabilization of North Africa. Organized crime was activated and Dominique Strauss Khan has disappeared from a political arena of France. Do you remember the Soviet document dated 1955? Organized crime was and is an integral part of Soviet Fascism. Today ISIS is running Libya’s oil or destroying the facilities to raise the price of oil on the market. Russia succeeds again and ISIS now infiltrated thirty-two countries… Does anybody in our Intelligence know this story?

I have to remind you another story, a list of military collaborations between the U.S. and Russia executed under the Obama/Putin joint venture:

  1. Killing of bin-Laden
  2. Invasion of Libya, conspiracy of Obama, Putin, and French Pres. Sarkozy.
  3. Benghazi, murder of the U.S. ambassador Stevens.
  4. “On 6 August 2011, a U.S. Boeing CH-47 Chinook military helicopter was shot down while transporting a quick reaction force attempting to reinforce an engaged unit of Army Rangers in Wardak province, west of Kabul, Afghanistan. The resulting crash killed all 38 people on board—25 American specialists … Fifteen of the Navy SEALs that were killed were members of the Naval… “

If thoroughly investigated, the listed events will open up a huge panorama of activities of the DNC leadership directed against the American Republic. Maybe our Intel is blocking information about my books and columns, because I am constantly writing about the Russian Connection? Maybe because it is the leadership of the Democrat Party that has the real treasonous connection with Russia. President Trump has not. There is no Trump’s Russia Tangle. My books and latest columns are analyzing the situation in this respect and will help a new appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate the real Russian connection…

O’Reilly is right: “Allegations are not facts. Nobody’s searching for the truth anymore.”

Observing a Memorial Day in the end of May, 2017, we paid respect to the memory of our soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for our freedom—a very touching event for many Americans. Widows and children of the Korean War and Vietnam are alive and were morning their spouses, fathers, brothers and sisters. I’d like to remind you that all recent wars had been instigated by the ideology of Soviet Fascism. Stalin started it in 1950 and all consequent wars, including the Middle East is a continuation of his policy and hostility to Western civilization. Special counsel Robert Mueller, investigating the Russian collusion, should be aware of that.

Hidden Marxism: Treating Immigrants Like Robots

No matter which prominent side wins in our immigration debates, the U.S. loses for a simple reason: The contest pits people who hate the point against people who miss the point.

On one side are the large-I Immigrationists, individuals who behave as if immigration is always good, always necessary, must never be questioned and must be the one constant in an otherwise ever-changing universe of policy; they’re usually identified as “leftists.” On the other are small-i immigrationists, people who believe immigration is generally good, generally necessary, should never be questioned in principle and must in some form be the one constant in an otherwise ever-changing universe of policy; they’re usually identified as “conservatives.”

The debate between the two sides often goes like this: Leftists welcome inundation with even uneducated, unskilled foreigners (as long as the aliens aren’t sent to their neighborhood; see Martha’s Vineyard et al.) with the argument “Our strength lies in our diversity!” Conservatives counter this by reassuring all and sundry “I’m all for immigration!” “But,” they add, “it should be done legally and be merit based, with possession of economically valuable skills a prerequisite for entry.”

The problem with this is that it’s the battling of a nonsensical argument with a one-dimensional argument. After all, there’s a name for entities defined merely by the job-related role they can perform: robots. There’s also a name for thus characterizing people: a Marxist mistake.

I’ll explain this by beginning with a story. Many years ago, during a dinner-table conversation, a quite wonderful man I know remarked that the dissolution of the black family was all caused by government welfare, by the funding of single motherhood. While such policy is destructive and surely exacerbates problems, is it really true that it’s entirely responsible? If it were true, how could it be that some Hasidic Jews accept the same government assistance but keep their families wholly intact?

You may now say, “Of course! They’re radically ‘religious.’” But that’s the point: Man is not just an economic creature. He also has intellectual, emotional, psychological, moral and spiritual dimensions.

The late Pope Benedict XVI mentioned this when critiquing Karl Marx, saying that the latter’s mistake was his viewing of man as a purely economic being; human behavior was explainable, and problems remediable, the thinking goes, solely via an economic approach (e.g., eliminating economic inequality will end human strife).

The point is this: Anytime we ourselves instinctively treat man as a purely economic being — as even that intelligent, conservative man I mentioned did — we are unwittingly repeating Marx’s mistake.

Yet this is common today even among conservatives. So do you see, now, how easily such errors can be mainstreamed and inform (read: deform) our thinking?

Now let’s return to immigration. Do the work skills and ethic newcomers bring with them define them?  Are those qualities the most important things they bring to our shores? Since they’re not robots and won’t actually just be cogs in the economy, no. Rather, the most important things they bring are their beliefs.

To further illustrate the economic-being approach’s folly, let’s apply the standard not to (what should be) our national family, but our actual one. If you contemplated taking an outsider into your home, would you consider just economics? Would it only matter that he was going to contribute another $800 monthly to the family budget? Or would you first consider what beliefs and behaviors he’d bring into your home — how he, for instance, would influence your kids?

It’s likewise with the national family, of course. Absorb 10 million Muslim jihadists or 10 million Nazis over time, and it will have some political and social effect whether they’re low-skilled or high-skilled. For either way, their skill at “being American” will be fatally poor.

For a real-life example, consider radical, anti-American representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). Herself a product of migration (she was granted asylum by Immigrationist Central), she was vaulted to power in her district largely by other immigrants from her native country, Somalia. Now, would you feel better about this if she and her voter enablers were “high-skilled”? Would you aver, “Oh, who cares that they’re undermining our political system? They can code!”?

Some may now say such immigrants would vote differently were they skilled and wealthy. History says otherwise. Consider that Hindus (i.e., Indians) are the highest-earning religious group in the U.S. next to Jews, out-earning native-born white Americans markedly. Yet unlike outlier and GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, they’re also notably left-wing.

Rivaling blacks’ numbers, 90 percent supported Barack Obama.

Hindus also voted for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden by wide margins.

In fact, upwards of 70 percent of Hindus are firmly in the Democrat Party’s camp.

None of this, however, means there’s no difference between low-skilled and high-skilled socialist immigrants.

The wealthy, high-skilled ones are far more likely to be politically active and influential and therefore will more aggressively alter our national landscape.

As the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace wrote just before the 2020 election, “Even though Indian Americans comprise [sic] slightly more than 1 percent of the total U.S. population — and less than 1 percent of all registered voters…Indian Americans are unexpectedly in the spotlight thanks to their growing affluence and influence in political circles….”

Lest anyone think I’m picking on Hindus, know they’re just par for the course: 85 to 90 percent of our post-1967 immigrants have come from the Third World, and 70 to 90 percent of them have voted Democrat upon naturalization. What’s more, despite #WalkAway fantasies, this shows no actual signs of changing — certainly not enough to make the pro-invasion Democrat Party fall out of love with their voter-importation scheme (aka immigration).

In reality, this also reveals why the economic-being approach falls flat even in its calculation of economic benefit. How much will “high-skilled” immigrants improve our economy if, over time, their influence transforms it into a socialist one? They’ll be coding while wealth is eroding.

All immigration should be halted, given how balkanized we already are. Yet insofar as we do allow it, the aforementioned again underlines why beliefs must always come first when vetting newcomers. A nation does not live on bread alone, and what does it profit a land to gain the world but lose its soul?

In truth, it would be better if our immigrants were robots (which, incidentally, are poised to fill many jobs in coming years, a fact underlining why immigration isn’t necessary “because we need workers”). Robots, after all, really do just perform an economic role and don’t come with beliefs, intellect and free will (at least not yet). Immigrants do because they’re human beings.

So treat them as such, is the lesson here. This means evaluating them based on all their human dimensions and not just reckoning them as economic cogs, as objects. “They pick our grapes” or “They do our tech” may be a good argument for automation, but for immigration it’s Marxist to the core.

Hamas is an Islamic terrorist military organization. Like any ideological organization Hamas has a political structure, managed by ordinary people, in this case by Palestinian people. The terrorist wants to eat and have other services and the Palestinians provide them. There is an inextricable and long-term tie between Palestinian people and Hamas. I have already reminded you about Palestinian Liberation Organization PLO run by Yasser Arafat in the 1970s, the time of the Yank Kippur War against Israel. If you read my writings, you would find there a document showing that Arafat had been recruited by the KGB in 1957. It was done through the Muslim Brotherhood, also colluded with the KGB. Not a lot has changed since then, Arafat’s lieutenant Mahmoud Abbas is now the President of Palestine and 40% of Palestinians have shared the Hamas ideology.

The tragic explosion of the Hospital in Gaza was finally documented. The explosion in the Hospital with death of hundreds was the Jihadist rocket. The Israel Intelligence documented the hit of the Hospital by the rocket, intercepted by Israeli’s video. However, the problem is much larger: Israel is facing another three fronts in Lebanon, Iran, and Syria, those countries are also under supervision of the Russian KGB’s mafia/Army—the Evil Doer, I’ve been writing about for forty-two years. A multi-front war is inevitable. Unfortunately, America has no clue about the new “Axis of Evil,” I’ve been writing for decades. The world blames Iran in training, supporting, ang sponsoring Hamas, which is a half of the truth. Yes, Iran is a major proxy of Vladimir Putin. Since his moving to Moscow, Iran was Putin’s main target to militarize its industry and support all over other Putin’s proxies in the Middle East for the last thirty years. Read my columns.

Yes, the main puppeteer is Russia. Do you know that Hezbollah is armed to the teeth by the Russian rockets Katusha? Katusha is a female name. The name of my daughter is Katherine, I called her Katusha. The Russian disinformation has no borders, it influences military as well as everything else within Russian orbit and its proxies. On October 23, 1983, a truck bomb destroyed the U.S. Marine barracks at the Beirut airport. The attack killed 241 American soldiers, including 220 Marines, 18 U.S. Navy sailors, and 3 U.S. Army soldiers. It was the beginning of the Hezbollah terrorist career in the War Crimes.

Russia is a terrorist and anti-Semitic state, spreading its ideology of Soviet fascism across the world. It was Vladimir Putin, who gave an order to Hamas to start the war against Israel. His primary goal to make Biden a War-Time President coincides with the event, and decision was made watching the Fox News interview with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. Fox News doesn’t know Vladimir Putin, his KGB’s Mafia/Army and his proxies around the globe. Fox News haven’t learned how intelligently in secrecy, Trump had achieved peace with Muslim world. Putin was troubled by that in the beginning with and now his proactive action has prevented the peaceful agreement between U.S. and the Muslim world by the war in Israel. As a devoted disciple of the Stalin/Andropov legacy, Putin has prolonged their never-ending war started in North Korea by Stalin in the 1950s. There is more planning terror in the same direction continues by the terrorist Putin’s Russia.

The Iranian drones are targeting Iraqi and Syrian air-bases with the American personnel there to drive America out of Middle East—we are watching the never-ending WWIII against Western civilization in a progress. This is Globalists against the free world. This is existential threat for Israel! If you know Soviet Socialism, which I called Soviet Fascism, you will recognize it in America by the policy of the Democrat Party. Alas, America doesn’t see it, the Republicans don’t know it either. They continue playing game for three weeks without the Speaker in the House of Representatives, the only Republican power in America, at the time of war. What a Shame! The world is watching and learning. To be aver of Putin’s terrorist Russia is a Must to save America!

When I am telling you that Russia is a terrorist and anti-Semitic state, I know what I am talking about. Although, a successful defense attorney, I left, my relatives, friends, and beloved husband for that exact reason—ideology of Soviet Fascism. My children would never have a chance for a career under brutal Soviet anti-Semitism. Every Mother will understand me—there is no stronger instinct than Maternity. I came to America without knowing English, but I dearly love my adopted country with its unique political system designed and left to us by our Founding Fathers. That is the reason I volunteer to write the truth for forty-two years, warning you and giving what nobody knows. The first and very critical is Stalinist Socialist modus operandi: lies, deception, fabrication, and fraud. You can’t understand the current world without that knowledge…

The violent protests spark in the Muslim world after Gaza Hospital blast, blaming Israel. Anti-Semitism has fueled the attack. That was an execution of Stalinist Socialist modus operandi—deception and disinformation—an old-style Soviet propaganda. In my opinion, it wasn’t a malfunction rocket, but deliberate blast of the Hospital by Jihadists to deceive the world and inflame the Muslims against Western civilization. That has been also designed to give Biden a case of the Israel crime to lecture Netanyahu. In my writings, I am presenting hundred examples of Socialist modus operandi and disinformation used by Soviet fascism around the globe with impunity. Nobody discussing Soviet Socialism, which I called Soviet fascism. Nobody identified the ideology that has been dividing the world since the 20th century.

The Obama/Biden Democrat Party’s appeasement of Iran, making Iran a strategic partner not an Evil-enemy of America. Do you remember how President Obama gave Iran $1. 7 billion cash? In my opinion, part of the money had been taken by Russia, another part spent for arming Hamas and other terrorists to invade Israel. This is the history of dealing with the Evil terrorists, War Criminals. Now Biden’s team promises humanitarian aid to Palestinians who totally cooperated with Hamas for decades in the first and second Intifadas… The lesson of Nazi Germany 1938-39 is completely forgotten by the Democrat party or maybe they don’t want to remember it.

As we found out today, Hamas uses drugs to fuel its terror: to become calm, acting for 24 hours without sleeping. It is not the news for me. Russia has been drugging America since 1955. When researching Soviet Socialism, I read a book Drugging of America, by Joseph Douglas. The information in the book showed the real fascist’s intention to conquer the world by the Russian criminal activities. It was a document dating 1955 by the Soviet Defense Council, the first formal Soviet decision to launch narcotics trafficking against the Bourgeoisie and especially against American capitalists:

“Soviet strategy for revolutionary war is a global strategy… narcotics strategy is a sub-component of this global strategy. First was the increased training of leaders for the revolutionary movements—the civilian, military, and intelligence cadres.”  You can see the entire document in my writings. There is another connection to Soviet Fascism:

Listening an expert about Hamas weapons in the tunnel don’t surprise me. He was talking about the old Soviet and North Korean technology and underground trade and distribution of it. Usage of tunnels is an old Soviet military Doctrine familiar to us from Vietnam, if you remember that circle of never-ending war started by Stalin in 1950s. As my main concern is our national security, the subject of the KGB’s Mafia/Army has been delivered in all my books and columns to educate and warn you. Alas, you couldn’t do it on time, the FBI prevented you from reading them. In 2002 the FBI have submitted my name to the FISA Court and Court made me a foreign agent with consequent banning of my writings. This is the reason America has no clout pertaining to the long-term War Crimes committed by Russia and its KGB’s Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer. I don’t trust the FBI and I am not alone.

The predicament in our country is very strange and dangerous, if not existential. “America First Legal just filed a lawsuit against the FBI and Biden’s Department of Justice for illegally concealing federal records related to the Biden administration’s government-sponsored censorship and election interference during the midterm elections last year.” America First Legal. I hope now you know why we don’t trust the FBI. It is dysfunctional agency and doesn’t protect us any longer, because it doesn’t know how our mortal enemy destroys us from within—Russia. The Republicans are trapped in the circle of disinformation and are unaware of the term Controlled Opposition, I’ve been writing for many years. Read my column: “Who is Dr. Jill Biden?

I don’t believe one word speaking by Joe Biden, I don’t trust him. Watching his theatrical performances makes me sick: he’s talking with both sides of his mouth. His current policy towards Iran is worse than the shameful surrender of Afghanistan and has the same bases. The money to Ukraine is Socialist corruption—a fraud to cover up Democrat’s collusion with Russian Intel. To grasp Biden’s foreign policy, you have to know the term a Controlled Opposition designed by Stalin’s devoted disciple Yuri Andropov in the 20th century. Don’t be surprised by the Fifth Column built in our Colleges and Universities, defending Hamas and accusing Israel of genocide. Ignorance is ruling the minds of America—pro-Palestinian protests have inflamed the nation and the world. The old Soviet propaganda and the KGB’s Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer did their job well of “recruitment, infiltration, drugs and assassinations” as I had identified WWIII decades ago. You see the power of Globalists, carried out by the KGB’s Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer across the globe. Don’t be surprised by the Islamic terrorist movement across the world against the West. This is a result of the along-term Russian counterintelligence working across the globe—the subject of my writings during forty-two years.

There will be a test for Biden in Lebanon. For the sake of the peace, America must prevent a multi-front war against Israel. Where is American deterrence? We are in crises! The two Navy giants have been sent to the Mediterranean Sea for a reason. We must prevent Iranian escalation, because it is the Putin-Globalist escalation against the free world. Let’s see how Biden’s Democrats Controlled Opposition prevents a multi-front war against Israel. Please remember that since the Obama presidency, the White House has been monitoring my computer and using my information. The Biden team uses my information all the time. Let’s see how long does it take for Biden to prevent a multi-front war against Israel.

Internal Conflicts and Power Struggles have become Hallmarks of the Modern GOP

“Childish would be my word. We’re on the right path, doing the right things, wanting to pass good legislation, and he’s helping them do that. And then, bam, it blows up.” Rep. Sara Carruthers said of her colleagues, the Ohio Republicans who persist in opposing the Ohio statehouse speaker nominee.

This isn’t even the battle for House Speaker being reported in Washington.

This is the Ohio statehouse, which has a leadership battle of its own.

The strife is all over. The Republican Party’s internal divisions and power struggles have emerged as defining features. At the outset, it would seem that these conflicts are confined to the party’s inner workings, but in reality, they have had far-reaching consequences that extend well beyond party lines. As observers of American political dynamics, we naturally ponder the effects of the Republican Party’s constant strife on their ability to oppose Democrats effectively.

One of the most conspicuous manifestations of the Republican Party’s infighting lies in its failed attempts to elect a new Speaker for the House of Representatives. This critical leadership role is often viewed as the face of the party and the embodiment of its legislative agenda. However, the intense power struggles within the GOP have hindered their ability to present a united front, weakening them when facing their Democrat counterparts.

Amid such chaos, the party’s inner bickering and factionalism have become a source of distraction. Rather than focusing their collective efforts on opposing Democrats and advancing a cohesive vision, Republicans are embroiled in bitter feuds and battles for supremacy. This distraction, as reported by the Associated Press, has rendered them less effective when it comes to providing a compelling alternative to Democrat policies and initiatives.

Another profound consequence of this ongoing discord is the misalignment of priorities. With many Republicans preoccupied with internal party politics, there is a noticeable reduction in their ability to oppose Democrats on critical issues effectively. This shift in focus has allowed Democrats to seize political advantages in various scenarios, as highlighted by the left-wing The Guardian earlier this month.

Internal divisions also lead to a lack of consensus within the Republican party on fundamental issues. The absence of a unified stance further weakens their opposition to Democrat policies and hampers their ability to sway public opinion.

As left-wing NPR reports, the inability to present a coherent alternative has a detrimental impact on the GOP’s efficacy in opposing Democratic agendas.

And then, one of the most insidious effects of such routine inner conflicts within the Republican Party is the erosion of public trust.

The Pew Research Center’s data reveals that this disarray has decreased trust and confidence in the party. A divided house, plagued by constant internal turmoil, naturally fails to inspire confidence and unity among its supporters.

Therefore, the internal strife within the Republican party is a multifaceted issue that weakens their unity, distracts them from effectively opposing Democrats, and leads to a decline in public trust. These factors significantly impede the Republican party’s ability to fight Democrats effectively.

As the party grapples with its internal divisions, Republicans must find a way to mend the fractures and present a united front to mount a more formidable challenge against their Democrat counterparts. Otherwise, the rifts within their own ranks may continue undermining their ability to shape American politics.

As conservatives, we should be motivated by our commitment to individual liberties, economic freedom, and traditional values. Standing united is the key, as our core beliefs regarding our approach to these critical issues lead us to oppose policies that diverge from these core tenets.

Only if we drift away sufficiently from our infighting can we continue to support limited government, free-market solutions, empowering businesses, including small enterprises, giving individuals more control over their healthcare decisions, a strong national defense and internal security that includes protecting our borders, enforcing immigration laws and ensuring that individuals entering the country do so legally. This is how we can best serve the interests of our voter base the American people, and safeguard the principles that make our country exceptional.

Let us remember that elected officials are our servants. They work for us. We put them there and should remove them from the office if they fail to deliver.

I have always been an ardent believer in democracy–The dictionary defines democracy as the rule of the people. Even at its best, “democracy is the worst form of government except for all the rest,” according to Winston Churchill. Is democracy a terrible form of government? Does it hold the threat of destroying humanity’s most precious right – liberty?

In the so-called democratic societies, a semblance of democracy hobbles along with fits and starts, always on the verge of complete subversion and collapse. For instance, Western democracies are representative democracies where ordinary citizens do not rule. A representative democracy is, in effect, a plutocracy where money, people, and powerful interest groups lead.

The society’s rulers form a pyramid. At the base of the pyramid, we have the closest thing to democracy. The individual citizen has some sway over the locally elected officials such as the sheriff, the mayor, the city councilman, and the like. As we go up the pyramid, the voice of the individual citizen diminishes while the influence of money and power groups expands. It is a fact that, without funds, one cannot even run for the city’s animal control officer. At the very least, the aspiring candidate needs money for posters or handbills to make himself known to the electorate and argue why they should elect him, not his opponent.

The point is that it takes enormous amounts of money to become a part of the pyramid. And not everyone is a billionaire with a bottomless pocket and the willingness to tap it. Bottom line: If you aspire to become a part of the ruling pyramid, you require funds commensurate with the position you seek.

The US Constitution does not use the term “democracy. The United States is a representative republic. A republic if we can keep it, said Benjamin Franklin. It is a republic in which the people do not openly elect the president.

But as the recent events unfolded, I couldn’t help but feel like the system I had once held in such high regard was crumbling around me. The naked truth is that many politicians are paid agents, dancing to the tune of lobbyists and special interest groups. It is a harsh realization, and I am disillusioned and annoyed.

Democracy is the guardian of liberty. Embedded in a democracy are provisions that can make it implode from within. Democracy also has its guardian: A resolutely vigilant, proactive, and ethical citizenry.

Money’s influence in politics was deeply entrenched, and it would take years of continued effort to root out corruption and restore our democracy to its proper form.

Reflecting on my journey, I realized that being an ordinary citizen did not mean I was powerless. I learned that I could make a difference by shining a light on the dark corners of our political landscape and supporting those willing to stand up for the people.

Ultimately, the naked truth was that our democracy was a fragile and imperfect system, but it was also a resilient one. It could withstand the onslaught of corruption and greed if enough of us were willing to fight for it. I hoped that others would join the cause and that more ordinary citizens would rise and hold their representatives accountable.

So, I leave you with a call to action. If you, like me, are disillusioned with the state of our democracy, don’t despair. Get involved in politics, demand transparency, and hold your representatives accountable. The power to shape our nation’s future lies in the people’s hands, and it’s time we took it back from the puppeteers of democracy.

What can be done? Is there a way of resisting and reversing the imminent assault on our most cherished right of liberty? Here are some suggestions.

  • Become an active worker of liberty instead of passive, non-caring devil-may-care nihilists.
  • Use the political process, while it is still responsive to the demands and wishes of freedom-loving people, by supporting laws that guard freedom and reject those that infringe on liberty.
  • Actively support political candidates who are deeply committed to the tenets of freedom.
  • Run for office, any office. Please encourage your friends and other liberty advocates to pitch in and help in any way they can.
  • Hold to account those politicians who sell themselves to lobbyists and special interest groups.
  • Be an active educator by informing others about the creeping danger of Marxism.
  • Resist any and all WOKE philosophy in schools and the workplace.
  • Contribute money, small or large amounts, to causes and individuals who are fighting to preserve liberty. As the old saying goes, freedom is not free.

In short, liberty is our most prized possession, and democracy is the shield that protects it. Yet, this shield of democracy is vulnerable and needs to be repaired and strengthened regularly. I am calling on you, the individual freedom-loving person, to play your part in the defense of freedom, not only for your own sake but also for mine and all others who cherish this precious blessing of life and generations to come.

I fully agree with the golden advice below. I also suggest we diligently work at lowering our “laughter threshold.” Meaning to laugh with greater and greater ease and more often. Not a laugher of ridicule, but a laugher of joy and merriment.

Have you ever marveled at how laughter possesses the incredible ability to illuminate even the darkest of corners? It’s a treasure, hidden in plain sight, beckoning us to seize it with both hands. Laughter isn’t merely a reaction to something amusing; it’s a radiant critical that unlocks a world brimming with joy and mirth. Lowering our “laughter threshold” and unearthing laughter’s extraordinary power is imperative.

You might wonder, “Why should I laugh more often?” Lowering our “laughter threshold” is like opening the door to a world of happiness and joy. It means making laughter a more accessible and frequent part of our lives. Imagine it as adjusting the volume knob on a radio, turning up the laughter frequency.

A Clarifying Moment for the West

George Washington, the father of our country, envisioned an America where people of all faiths could enjoy peace. In 1790, he wrote to the synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island: “May the children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other inhabitants, while everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig-tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.”

This image from the Bible by our first president was his ideal for the nation as a whole—that we can live in peace and safety and not be harassed by our own government.

Fast forward to today. Students at George Washington University protested against “the children of the Stock of Abraham,” as they chose Palestinians over Jews after the barbaric attacks in Israel on October 7th, 2023—a date that will live in infamy.

Writing for “The Daily Signal” of the Heritage Foundation, Mary Margaret Olohon notes: “George Washington University students held a ‘Vigil for the Martyrs of Palestine’ on Tuesday evening where they mourned the Hamas terrorists killed attacking Israel….Organizers encouraged the students to bring posters, flowers, flags, and a mask or keffiyeh (Palestinian headdress) to hide their faces.”

This rally was held by the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter.

What is significant about this vigil is that it occurred on the Tuesday night (October 11) after the multiple attacks on Israel on Saturday.

And, of course, this protest of solidarity on behalf of the Palestinians was just one of many throughout the country and throughout the West. All of these took place after the horrific attacks of Hamas, including beheading Israeli babies, on October 7th.

In Australia, the anti-Jewish protesters actually chanted, “Gas the Jews,” echoing the Holocaust.

Gary Bauer, the founder of American Values, wrote: “The National Students for Justice in Palestine celebrated Hamas’s savagery by declaring the vicious attacks to be ‘a historic win for the Palestinian resistance.’ The Islamic supremacist group also claimed that 180 of its 230 chapters issued some kind of statement supporting the attack. How does this radical organization, a Hamas front-group, have 230 student chapters across the country?”

For decades in the West, we have had tens of millions of Americans brainwashed and indoctrinated, even in some of our finest schools, into the notion of moral equivalency, where, supposedly, all things are relative. There are no absolutes. What Hamas does is justified because of what Israel has done earlier.

Gary Bauer also notes the pro-Hamas’ antipathy toward Christianity, “These student demonstrators, many of whom shouldn’t be in America, also yearn for the day when they can celebrate the destruction of this country and our conquest by Islam. That is, after all, the ultimate goal, according to one top Hamas leader – a world dominated by Islam with ‘no Zionism and no treacherous Christianity.’”

But thankfully, there is pushback against the pro-Hamas protesters.

About 700 Hollywood stars, usually on the wrong side of every issue, decided to issue a joint statement in support of Israel—“those experiencing unfathomable levels of fear and violence.”

Harvard students who had declared for Hamas following the atrocities of October 7th are being denounced by Harvard ex-president Larry Summers and some Harvard donors.

It’s good to see that not everybody approves of what Hamas did in their surprise attack, killing peaceful citizens, including babies, children, and grandmothers.

On Fox News last week, Laura Ingraham highlighted the Hamas Covenant of 1988. She let the viewer read the words on the screen, while refusing to dignify the message by reading them out loud.

The Hamas Covenant 1988 includes these words: “The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jews will hide behind stones and trees…there is a Jew behind me…come and kill him.”

Robert Spencer, director of Jihadwatch.org, told me that that statement comes from the sayings of Mohammed, known as the “Hadith” (Hadith, Sahih Muslim 6985).

Dennis Prager, as I’ve noted before, makes an interesting observation about the push to destroy Israel, whether talking about Hamas or any of their fellow travelers.

The founder of PragerU said, “There are a million hatreds in the world, but there’s only one Exterminationist hatred, and that’s anti-Semitism. Anti-Semites don’t dislike Jews. I wish that was all they did, you could live with this. You can’t live with people who want to exterminate you.” Hamas does not acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.

Exterminationist hatred is the exact opposite of what Jesus declared in Israel 2000 years ago, to this effect: Do to others as you would have them do unto you for this is a summary of the Law and the Prophets.

This is a clarifying moment for the West: Will we call out barbarity for what it is?

  • An ex-employee of a Hamas ally Yousra Fazili worked as a Pentagon Special Assistant for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Programs. Rep Jack Bergman is demanding answers over Yousra Fazili who worked for the Islamic terror state of Qatar and now works at the Pentagon. In 2022, she became the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs at the U.S. Department of Defense. NOTE: In late September, it was learned that Ariane Tabatabai, who had worked with the Iranian government and secretly promoted their agenda before appearing to testify in Congress, was working as the Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict.
  • United Nations refugee funds for Gaza are being used to finance terrorism and Anti-Semitism. In the wake of the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas terrorists that killed over 1,400 Israeli civilians on October 7, increased scrutiny is being centered on the ideology that fueled the barbarity that took place. Experts say that funds allocated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) have not only been funneled to terrorists in Gaza, but have also been used to fund educational materials for Palestinian youth that is rife with anti-Semitism.
  • Witnesses have testified that ‘children were tortured in front of their parents The children’s eyes were gouged out, and their fingers were chopped off.
  • The Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s chief of staff promotes  pro-Hamas rally in Minneapolis. Democratic Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison’s chief of staff on Sunday promoted a pro-Hamas rally in Minneapolis, where demonstrators called for Israel’s eradication and told Israeli “settlers” to “fuck off.” Donna Cassutt, who has served as Ellison’s chief of staff since 2019, advertised the rally in a Sunday tweet, which alerted Minnesotans that the “March for Palestine” was happening “today.” More than 1,000 pro-Hamas demonstrators went on to attend the rally in Minneapolis. Attendees brandished signs and repeated chants with the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which advocates for the destruction of Israel. One attendee, meanwhile, held a sign saying, “Settlers fuck off,” while others called to “end U.S. aid to Israel.”
  • Hamas struck a convoy of Gazans fleeing south, killing 70. IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus says a strike on a convoy of Gazans fleeing to the southern part of the Strip Friday appears to have been a false flag operation carried out by Hamas. “When you apply logic and think who would benefit from those very horrible images of children and civilians that were evacuating south and then they are apparently clearly dead, who stands to gain from that, only one organization: Hamas,” Conricus says during a Q and A session on X. At least 70 people, most of them children, were killed in the strike, which occurred on a route that Israel said should be used for fleeing Gazans. Another 200 were injured.

Summoning the courage to keep talking, he looked around the room of diplomats, U.N. officials, and other suffering families, and put himself back in the moment where his world changed forever.

“My wife was visiting her mother at one of the kibbutzim, and I stayed home,” Yoni stopped, as he probably had a million times in the last week, to let his decision sink in. “I got a phone call from my wife,” who was, “scared — scared,” he repeated, “whispering, terrif[ied], saying that she’s hearing gunshots and people are entering the house.” It wasn’t until later that he saw the video of his wife and two daughters on one of Hamas’s cars or trucks. “I recognized them,” Yoni said quietly of his two little girls, Raz and Aviv, and his wife, Doron.

As the tears fell freely down his face, Yoni finally got out the words that thousands of tortured families have said since October 7: “I woke up to the worst nightmare of my life.”

Others, like Yakov Argamani, pace around their houses, clutching a book of psalms. Surrounded by memories, he mourns that his beautiful teenage daughter’s smell is gone from the room. “Noa was here, there, everywhere,” he told The New York Times’s Jeffrey Gettleman. “All of a sudden, it’s gone. And I’m lost,” the broken father laments.

Other dads, like Hen Avigdori, try to comfort the one child who’s left — while slipping away to cry for his son’s missing sister and mom. “I’m in this endless loop of hope and despair, hope and despair,” he said. “I need some proof of life. I need to know where my wife and daughter are.”

From Thailand to France and America, the families of the 199 missing hostages are in an aching form of limbo. Between television interviews and underground meetings with government officials in Tel Aviv, they live hour to hour, haunted by their last conversations and the knowledge of what Hamas is capable of. To so many, captivity is a fate worse than death. As one heartbroken father told reporters, realizing his eight-year-old little girl had been killed was better than thinking of her in the terrorists’ hands. “It’s a blessing,” an emotional Thomas Hend told CNN the moment he learned Emily’s fate. “She was either dead or in Gaza,” he said after the 48-hour search. “And if you know anything about what they do in Gaza, that is worse than death.”

The number held by Hamas, which Israeli officials increased to almost 200 over the weekend, is complicating things for the soldiers on the ground. While teams of military teams search the 30-mile Gaza strip, terrorist Abu Obeida warned that his men have scattered the hostages — babies, grandmothers, young women, newly orphaned children, and soldiers — in “safe places and the tunnels of resistance” all throughout the area.

Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, a top Israeli military spokesman, insisted they have information on the location of the captives and sought to reassure families that the troops “will not carry out an attack that would endanger our people.” In the meantime, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, issued a stunning declaration, offering himself to Hamas if the terrorists would let the child hostages go. “I am ready for an exchange, anything, if this can lead to freedom, to bring the children home.”

Countless parents at the makeshift headquarters of the Families of Hostages and Missing Persons Forum would almost certainly do the same. “All we have been told is that her phone is in Gaza,” Meirav Gonen said helplessly. Romi, who was kidnapped from the music festival, stayed on the line with her mom for almost 45 minutes until her phone went dead.

“I know she was shot,” Meirav explained. “She called me at 10:15 and I was on with her until 10:58, she was fading away and I heard shooting around her coming closer to the car and then people shouting in Arabic … shouting she was alive and that they need her.”

Romi’s face is one of many lining the wall of Tel Aviv’s HaKirya government building, a horrifying reminder of the dozens of missing. “It’s so, so lonely,” Meirav chokes up. “All the thoughts and feelings that you have once you stop for a minute to listen to them.”

Lt. General (Ret.) Jerry Boykin understands the pain of hostage crises more than most. As commander of the Army’s elite Delta Force, he was one of the leaders on the failed mission to rescue Iran’s hostages in 1980. Like so many veterans, he knows the incredible lengths America will go to bring its people home. “I think most of what you see, other than the bombing and the shelling by the Israelis … is reconnaissance to try to locate the hostages,” he explained to guest host and former Congressman Jody Hice on “Washington Watch.” “This is a big issue for the Israelis because there are Americans being held. And I can assure that those people on the ground in [Gaza] include some Americans, our special operations that are experts at hostage rescue.”

But, Boykin warned, “the key thing to hostage rescue is good intelligence, and I think that’s what they’re doing [in Gaza right now]. … They’re in there looking for the hostages. And I pray that they will find them before the end of this campaign … because ultimately,” he said soberly, “these people will be killed if we can’t find them in time.”

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was cagey on Sunday about the involvement of U.S. special ops, saying only that the military “won’t rule anything in or out” about the hostage effort on the ground.

For now, Boykin insisted, the world needs to keep its eye on the ball. All of this, he argued, “is on the backs of Hamas.” “Hamas is responsible for everything that has happened up to this point. There is nothing, no one killed, nothing that Hamas is not responsible for. And we have to remember that. … What has happened here is a terrible, brutal, even demonic attack on the Israelis. … And we stand with the Jews.”

How Vittorio Arrigoni Went to Gaza Hoping to Die

“Bit by bit, decorate it, arrange the details, find the ingredients, imagine it, choose it, get advice on it, shape it into a work without spectators, one which exists only for oneself, just for the shortest little moment of life.” —Michel Foucault, describing the pleasure of preparing oneself for suicide.


The Italian cheerleader for Hamas, Vittorio Arrigoni, has died at the hands of the Islamic terrorism that he venerated throughout his life. The fellow traveler journeyed to the Gaza Strip to prostrate himself before his secular deity, Hamas, and to assist its venture of perpetrating genocide against Israelis. Islamic terrorists, who call themselves “Salafists,” showed their gratitude to Arrigoni by kidnapping, mercilessly beating, and executing him.

This episode was, of course, all part of an expected script: even though the media and our higher literary culture never discuss the reasons, the historical record reveals one undeniable fact: like thousands of political pilgrims before him, Vittorio Arrigoni went to Gaza to die. Indeed, consciously or unconsciously, in their unquenchable quest for sacrificing human life on the altar of their utopian ideals, fellow travelers always lust for death, and if not the death of others, then of their own.

It is no coincidence that a short while before “Salafists” killed Arrigoni, Juliano Mer-Khamis, a cheerleader of terrorism in Israel who, like Arrigoni, dedicated his life to praising the Palestinian death cult and working for the annihilation of Israel, was murdered by Islamic terrorists in Jenin. It is no coincidence that Rachel Corrie, the infamous enabler of the International Solidarity Movement, a group that disrupts anti-terrorism activities of the Israel Defense Forces, committed suicide in protecting Hamas terrorists by throwing herself in front of an Israeli bulldozer. And it is no coincidence that female leftist “peace” activists are routinely raped, brutalized, and enslaved by the Arabs of Judea and Samaria that they come to aid and glorify in their Jew-hating odyssey against Israel. And don’t hold your breath, by the way, waiting for leftist feminists to protest this phenomenon; they are faithfully following in the footsteps of American fellow traveler Anna Louise Strong and the Stalinist German writer Bertolt Brecht, two typical leftist believers who were completely undisturbed by the arrests and deaths of their friends in the Stalinist purges – having never even inquired about them after their disappearance.

Beneath the leftist believer’s veneration of the despotic enemy lies one of his most powerful yearnings: to submit his whole being to a totalist entity. This psychological dynamic involves negative identification, whereby a person who has failed to identify positively with his own environment subjugates his individuality to a powerful, authoritarian entity, through which he vicariously experiences a feeling of power and purpose. The historian David Potter has succinctly crystallized this phenomenon:

… most of us, if not all of us, fulfill ourselves and realize our own identities as persons through our relations with others; we are, in a sense, what our community, or as some sociologists would say, more precisely, what our reference group, recognizes us as being. If it does not recognize us, or if we do not feel that it does, or if we are confused as to what the recognition is, then we become not only lonely, but even lost, and profoundly unsure of our identity. We are driven by this uncertainty into a somewhat obsessive effort to discover our identity and to make certain of it. If this quest proves too long or too difficult, the need for identity becomes psychically very burdensome and the individual may be driven to escape this need by renouncing his own identity and surrendering himself to some seemingly greater cause outside himself.

This surrender to the totality involves the believer’s craving not only to relinquish his individuality to a greater whole but also, ideally, to sacrifice his life for it. Lusting for his own self-extinction, the believer craves martyrdom for the idea. As Eric Hoffer points out in his classic The True Believer, the opportunity to die for the cause gives meaning to the believer’s desire to shed his inner self: “a substitute embraced in moderation cannot supplant and efface the self we want to forget. We cannot be sure that we have something worth living for unless we are ready to die for it.”

Thus, Vittorio Arrigoni, Juliano Mer-Khasin, and Rachel Corrie were simply just faithfully continuing the long suicidal tradition of their political faith. We are well aware, after all, of the dark fate of the believers who journeyed to Russia after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution to build communism; we are well versed of what happened to the leftist Iranians who returned to their country after the 1979 Iranian Revolution to aid Khomeini in building the Islamic paradise. Only those who cannot accept the true motivations of utopian believers can still deny what those political pilgrims were searching for in their odyssey to shed themselves of their own unwanted selves.

Does one need to excessively explain why “progressive” feminist Naomi Klein called out for bringing “Najaf to New York” in her infamous 2004 column in The Nation, in which she reached her hand out in solidarity to Muqtada al-Sadr and his Islamofascist Mahdi Army in the Iraqi Shi’ite stronghold of Najaf? Bringing Najaf to New York would mean that the Iraqi Shi’ite stronghold, where Muqtada al-Sadr and his Mahdi Army at one time ran their torture chambers and sowed their terror, would be replicated on America’s shores. What could Naomi Klein possibly see admirable in the vicious nihilistic terror of the Mahdi Army? Would she remain alive for more than sixty seconds upon contact with it?

Is it possible that Klein’s impulses are related to those of Noam Chomsky, a Jew, who has distinguished himself, among other intriguing ways, by traveling to Lebanon to personally embrace the leaders of Hezbollah, whose stated top priority is to rid the world of Jews?

The murder by Iraqi terrorists of American hostage Tom Fox in March 2006 was a perfect example of this pathological phenomenon. Fox was among four members of the leftist group Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) who were kidnapped by Islamic terrorists in Iraq in November 2005. Aside from voicing support for the terrorists, one of the group’s most powerfully articulated themes entailed the longing for death. In the 1984 speech, “God’s People Reconciling,” for example, which gave rise to the formation of the Christian Peacemaker Teams, Mennonite minister Ron Sider urged his listeners: “We must be prepared to die by the thousands.”

It is not unsurprising that when British and American troops rescued the other three CPT hostages and saved their lives, the freed captives refused to thank their liberators — who had risked their own lives participating in the rescue — or to cooperate in a critical debriefing session with intelligence officers. Doug Pritchard, the co-chairman of CPT, went out of his way to tell the world that the kidnapping itself (and by implication Fox’s murder) was _America’s _fault, not the kidnappers’ or the executioners’. “The illegal occupation of Iraq by multinational forces,” he affirmed, was the “root cause” of the kidnappings. In other words, the devil made them do it.

The freed captives resented the fact that they had been liberated by the very forces they despised. And the rescuers had robbed the remaining hostages of the idealized fate suffered by Fox. Jan Benvie, an Edinburgh teacher who was getting ready to go to Iraq with the group in the summer of 2006, learned the lesson well. She announced before her departure: “We make clear that if we are kidnapped we do not want there to be force or any form of violence used to release us.”

To the end of his life, the French philosopher Michel Foucault, who supported and adored Khomeini’s killing fields, adamantly defended “everyone’s right to kill himself.” Suicide, he boastfully wrote in a 1979 essay, was “the simplest of pleasures.” Is it a coincidence that Foucault, who had attempted to kill himself several times out of guilt feelings regarding his homosexuality, passionately supported an Islamic death cult that murdered homosexuals?

Gaza terrorists have a long history of kidnapping and abusing, raping and killing those who come to aid and abet them.

Vittorio Arrigoni knew that very well.

In the end, Arrigoni’s story is the story of the Left – a story best summarized by the dictum of Goethe’s devil, which Marx perpetually invoked, as he did in The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Napoleon: “All that exists deserves to perish.”

Arrigoni is the contemporary poster boy for the political pilgrims who traveled to despotisms to help build the paradises in which they hoped to shed themselves of their own unwanted selves. They paid the ultimate price. And no lesser cost must be paid for the momentous transformation of sterilizing the unclean earth. Such disinfection can be made possible only by the purifying power of human blood — blood which, in the utopian enterprise, must, in the final chapter, become one’s own.


NOTE: A Minnesota woman, Cindy Flash, who spent her life advocating for Palestinian “rights” – and protesting against Israeli military action in Gaza – was recently murdered by Hamas in its barbaric Jihad attack within Israel. While our thoughts and prayers are with Flash and her family, it is still vital to note that she is yet another leftist devoured by the totalitarian and terrorist entity she worshiped.
