The Greatest Number of Global Conflicts are in Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa

By Dr. Rich Swier

There is growing concern that Biden and his Department of Defense are more concerned about gender identity than dealing with the the twenty-six current conflicts around the world. Two of the conflicts are in our back yard.

  1. Criminal Violence in Mexico
  2. Instability in Venezuela

The instability and violence in Mexico is part of Biden’s open borders policy that is causing massive numbers of illegals to travel from Central and South America via Mexico where the drug cartels are involved in illegal drugs and human trafficking.

To date the media is not covering these 26 conflicts, with the exception of the Russia-Ukraine debacle which Biden started with his weak comments on Russian invading Ukraine. Biden predicted that Russia ‘will move in’ to Ukraine, but called it a ‘minor incursion’. This was a dog whistle to Putin to begin the invasion. Watch:

The Council on Foreign Relations (COFR) has created a Global Conflict Tracker MapAccording to the The Center for Preventive Action website:

The Center for Preventive Action (CPA) aims to help policymakers devise timely and practical strategies to prevent and mitigate armed conflict around the world, especially in places that pose the greatest risk to U.S. interests.  CPA accomplishes this by commissioning in-depth reports, convening meetings of experts, and consulting with representatives of governments, international organizations, civil society groups, corporations, and the media. The center’s Global Conflict Tracker informs the general public about threats to international peace and security by providing a reliable and regularly updated online source of information about ongoing conflicts.

Who Is Seizing Control Over the Next Pandemic Plan?

By MERCOLA Take Control of Your Health

In “The Corbett Report” above,1 independent journalist James Corbett reviews the contents of Bill Gates’ book, “How to Prevent the Next Pandemic.”

Another reviewer of Gates’ book, economist Jeffrey Tucker, offered similarly negative feedback:2

Corbett goes through Gates’ book chapter by chapter, so if you’re short on time, you can review the ones that interest you the most:

Gates GERM Team

By now, you’ve probably heard that the World Health Organization is attempting to seize control over global pandemic monitoring and response, and ultimately, all health care decisions. But did you know Bill Gates, the largest funder of the WHO (if you combine funding from his foundation and GAVI), also intends to play a key part in this takeover?

As Gates explains in a video at the beginning of Corbett’s report, he’s building a pandemic response team for the WHO, dubbed the “Global Epidemic Response & Mobilization” or GERM Team. This team will be made up of thousands of disease experts under WHO’s purview, and will monitor nations and make decisions about when to suspend civil liberties to prevent spread of an illness.3

Alas, as noted by “Rising” host Kim Iversen in the video compilation above, if COVID-19 has taught us anything, it’s that stopping the spread of a virus is more or less impossible, no matter how draconian the rules. Meanwhile, the side effects of lockdowns and business shutdowns are manifold.

People’s health has suffered from lack of health care. Depression and suicide have skyrocketed. Economies have gone bust. Violent crime has risen. Tucker also points out the false premise behind Gates’ pandemic prevention plan, stating:4

“This theory of virus control — the notion that muscling the population makes a prevalent virus shrink into submission and disappear — is a completely new invention, the mechanization of a primitive instinct.

Smallpox occupies a unique position among infectious diseases as the only one affecting humans that has been eradicated. There are reasons for that: a stable pathogen, a great vaccine, and a hundred years of focused public health work. This happened not due to lockdowns but from the careful and patient application of traditional public-health principles.

[T]he attempt to crush a respiratory virus through universal avoidance could be worse than allowing endemicity to it to develop throughout the population.”

Gates’ Destructive Greed

During COVID, we basically traded false protection against one thing for a multitude of other ills that are far worse in the long run. Now, Gates and the WHO want to make this disastrous strategy the norm.

Once again, we see Gates is basically paying the WHO to dictate what the world must do to make him a ton of money, because he’s always heavily invested in the very “solutions” he presents to the world. While he’s built a reputation as a philanthropist, his actions are self-serving, and more often than not, the recipients of his “generosity” end up worse than they were before.

Case in point: After 15 years, Gates’ Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) project has now been proven an epic fail.5 Gates promised the project would “double yields and incomes for 30 million farming households by 2020.”

That false prognosis was deleted from the AGRA website in June 2020, after a Tuft University assessment revealed hunger had actually increased by 31%. February 28, 2022, the first-ever evaluation report6 confirmed the failure of AGRA.

The Globalists’ Double-Prong Attack on National Sovereignty

But getting back to the globalists’ plan to seize global control through biosecurity governance, they are attempting to do this using two different avenues. If we fail to fight off both attacks, we’ll end up under totalitarian governance.

The first attack comes in the form of amendments7 to the International Health Regulations (IHR). The second attack comes through a new international pandemic treaty with the WHO.

Starting with the first takeover strategy, as you read this, countries around the world are in the process of voting on amendments to the IHR.8 By May 28, 2022, the World Health Assembly will have concluded their vote on these amendments and, if passed, they will be enacted into international law in November 2022.

The IHR, adopted in 2005, is what empowers the WHO to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).9 This is a special legal category that allows the WHO to initiate certain contracts and procedures, including drug and vaccine contracts. While the IHR grants the WHO exceptional power over global health policy already, under the current rules, member states must consent to the WHO’s recommendations.

This is one key feature that is up for revision. Under the new amendments, the WHO would be able to declare a PHEIC in a member state over the objection of that state. The amendments also include ceding control to WHO regional directors authorized to declare a Public Health Emergency of Regional Concern (PHERC).

In summary, the IHR amendments establish “a globalist architecture of worldwide health surveillance, reporting and management,” Robert Malone, Ph.D., warns,10 and we the public have no say in the matter.

We have no official avenue for providing feedback to the World Health Assembly, even though the amendments will give the WHO unprecedented power to restrict our rights and freedoms in the name of biosecurity. There’s not even a publicly available list of who the delegates are or who will vote on the amendments.

Summary of Proposed IHR Amendments

A summary of the proposed changes to the IHR was recently provided by Malone.11 In all, the WHO wants to amend 13 different IHR articles (articles 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 48, 49, 53 and 59), the end result of which is the following:12

1.“Increased surveillance — Under Article 5, the WHO will develop early warning criteria that will allow it to establish a risk assessment for a member state, which means that it can use the type of modeling, simulation, and predictions that exaggerated the risk from COVID-19 over two years ago. Once the WHO creates its assessment, it will communicate it to inter-governmental organizations and other member states.

2.48-hour deadline — Under Articles 6, 10, 11, and 13, a member state is given 48 hours to respond to a WHO risk assessment and accept or reject on-site assistance. However, in practice, this timeline can be reduced to hours, forcing it to comply or face international disapproval lead by the WHO and potentially unfriendly member states.

3.Secret sources — Under Article 9, the WHO can rely on undisclosed sources for information leading it to declare a public health emergency. Those sources could include Big Pharma, WHO funders such as the Gates Foundation and the Gates-founded-and-funded GAVI Alliance, as well as others seeking to monopolize power.

4.Weakened sovereignty — Under Article 12, when the WHO receives undisclosed information concerning a purported public health threat in a member state, the Director-General may (not must) consult with the WHO Emergency Committee and the member state. However, s/he can unilaterally declare a potential or actual public health emergency of international concern.

The Director General’s authority replaces national sovereign authority. This can later be used to enforce sanctions on nations.”

Once the amendments are adopted by the World Health Assembly, nations will have only a limited time — six months — to reject them. That would put us into November 2022. Any nation which hasn’t officially rejected the amendments will then be legally bound by them, and any attempt to reject them after the six-month grace period will be null and void.

Attack No. 2: The WHO Pandemic Treaty

The second attempt to gain global control is through an international pandemic treaty with the WHO. An intergovernmental negotiating body (INB) was established as a subdivision of the World Health Assembly in December 2021,13 for the purpose of drafting and negotiating this new pandemic treaty.

In summary, the WHO wants to make its pandemic leadership permanent. It can then extend its power into the health care systems of every nation, and eventually implement a universal or “socialist-like” health care system as part of The Great Reset.

While a WHO-based universal health care system is not currently being discussed, there’s every reason to suspect that this is part of the plan. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has previously stated that his “central priority” as director-general is to push the world toward universal health coverage.14

And, considering the WHO changed its definition of “pandemic” to “a worldwide epidemic of a disease,”15 without the original specificity of severe illness that causes high morbidity,16,17 just about anything could be made to fit the pandemic criterion.

The problem with this treaty is that it simply cannot work. The whole premise behind this pandemic treaty is that “shared threat requires shared response.” But a given threat is almost never equally shared across regions.

Take COVID-19 for example. Not only is the risk of COVID not the same for people in New York City and the outback of Australia, it’s not even the same for all the people in those areas, as COVID is highly dependent on age and underlying health conditions.

The WHO insists that the remedy is the same for everyone everywhere, yet the risks vary widely from nation to nation, region to region, person to person. They intend to eliminate individualized medicine and provide blanket rulings for how a given threat is to be addressed, and this can only result in needless suffering — not to mention the loss of individual freedom.

Are You Ready to Cede All Authority to Gates-Led Group?

In closing, Gates’ GERM team would be the ones with the authority to declare pandemics and coordinate global response.18 Are you ready to cede all authority over your life, health and livelihood to the likes of Gates? I hope not.

In the video above, Del Bigtree with “The Highwire” provides poignant examples where Gates is now admitting what “The Highwire,” I and many others have been saying since the earliest days of the COVID pandemic, and getting censored and deplatformed for it.

Gates is two years behind everyone else, yet despite his apparent inability to interpret the readily available data, he now wants power to dictate health rules to the whole world. We can’t let that happen.

Join the Global #StopTheWHO Campaign

It’s going to require a global response to prevent these two power grabs, starting with the IHR amendments under vote by the World Health Assembly. To that end, the World Council for Health has launched a global #StopTheWHO campaign. Here’s how you can get involved:19

Speak — Raise awareness on the ground and online. Use articles, posters, videos
Act — Campaign through rallies, political mobilization, legal notices and cases and similar campaigns
Collaborate with health freedom coalitions such as the World Council for Health
Explore activist toolboxes such as: www.dontyoudare.info and stopthewho.com
Engage global indigenous leadership to take a united stand against the WHO’s IHR
Notify World Health Assembly country delegates to oppose the IHR amendments
Activate people’s parliaments, legislatures or referendums to oppose power grabs

Doubts Grow About America’s Military Might thumbnail

Doubts Grow About America’s Military Might

By The Daily Skirmish – Liberato.US

Joe Biden committed yet another gaffe, telling us one day the U.S. would deploy military force to defend Taiwan from Chinese attack, then walking back the comments the next.  Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there is “confusion” in the White House, leaving our allies wondering “what the heck is going on.”  Good question, especially after Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and then telling the Russians ‘a minor incursion in Ukraine might be OK.’  You can add to these Biden’s Woke Pentagon which seems more concerned with critical race theory than with critical mission success.

Deterioration in the nation’s ability to fight rounds out the dismal picture.  A review of U.S. military might a few months ago concluded,

“As currently postured, the U.S. military continues to be only marginally able to meet the demands of defending America’s vital national interests.”

Although there are some bright spots, the review found “worrisome trends in force readiness, declining strength in key areas like trained pilots, and continued uncertainty across the defense budget that is now having a negative effect both on major acquisition programs and on installation-level repair capabilities.”

As for acquisitions, critics are questioning several recent administration and Pentagon decisions regarding major weapons systems.

The administration’s budget proposal calls for retiring 24 Navy ships long before new ships can be built to replace them, leaving us with a shrinking fleet.  Some of the ships are less than three years old, but the Navy considers them not up-to-snuff when it comes to anti-submarine warfare.  The pattern repeats with amphibious warfare ships.  The Navy plans to reduce the fleet of large ones from 58 to 31 well before lighter ones deemed better suited to today’s conflicts can be built.  The residual fleet will be too small and old to be effective, critics warn.

Critics also question retiring the B83 bunker-busting nuclear bomb before identifying a replacement that can deal with the growing nuclear threat from Russia and China, both of which rely heavily on underground tunnels in their nuclear programs.

The Biden administration canceled without explanation a nuclear-capable sea-launched cruise missile program designed to deter Russia from using its 2,000 tactical nukes.

Biden’s budget also cuts purchases of the important F-35 stealth fighter by 35 percent to pay for other things, but critics called the move “foolish”.

The administration stopped missile tests against defunct spy satellites, diminishing our ability to fight in space.

Experts warn the administration is over-relying on nuclear deterrence, expecting our ability to prevent a major world war through nuclear deterrence to keep adversaries from starting smaller conflicts.  This approach obviously failed in Ukraine.

It’s not a pretty picture I’m painting: confusion in the White House, a military that is only marginally capable of fighting, and the unilateral withdrawal of military capabilities before new capabilities come on-line.  Kinda makes you wonder what our political and military leaders are getting paid the big bucks for.  But if I’ve upset you, don’t worry about it.  Go back to sleep.  There’s nothing here a little more diversity training at the Pentagon can’t fix.

China Starting Next Global Crisis By Gobbling Up Sri Lanka

By Gordon Chang

On May 12, India confirmed that it would provide a desperate Sri Lankan government 65,000 metric tons of urea, pursuant to an existing $1 billion credit line. The sale, which overrides New Delhi’s ban on the exports of the commodity, relieves severe pressure on the government of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Sri Lanka since the end of March has been wracked by violent protests.Shoot-on-sight” orders have for the most part restored order, but the unrest has led to the replacement of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, once the country’s dominate political figure. His brother, the president, is unlikely to survive the tumult. The ongoing economic and financial crisis is Sri Lanka’s worst since independence from Britain in 1948.

Sri Lanka is only the world’s opening act. Disturbances there constitute the first in a series of crises about to engulf vulnerable countries, perhaps even large ones. The war in Ukraine, aggravating underlying problems in Sri Lanka and elsewhere, is shaking just about every corner of the planet.

Events in Sri Lanka also highlight how China is going about dominating the world. Beijing is corrupting national leaders, drowning them in debt, and ultimately destabilizing their governments. Beijing, it appears, is particularly targeting democracies.

India’s urea, a fertilizer, will allow Sri Lankan farmers to plant in the May-August Yala cultivation season. It comes at a time of critical need. The country was spending about $400 million annually to import fertilizer but had not been able to make purchases recently due to the lack of foreign exchange. The government last year, to conserve currency reserves, banned chemical fertilizer.

The finance ministry reports that the country has only $25 million in usable foreign reserves on hand, hardly sufficient to service obligations. Sri Lanka is scheduled to repay $7 billion in debt this year, a part of the $26 billion due by 2026. The country’s total foreign debt is $51 billion.

The chemical fertilizer ban forced farmers to abandon paddies, and some joined the recent protests.

There is, as a result, hunger in the country, and soaring food prices have fueled protests. “I’ve been living in Colombo for 60 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Vadivu, a domestic worker, to AFP in March. “There’s nothing to eat, there’s nothing to drink.” This month, food prices there, Sri Lanka’s most-populous city, tripled in the space of a few days.

The new prime minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, said he would ensure that everyone had three meals a day. “There won’t be a hunger crisis, we will find food,” he told the BBC.

That is a promise Wickremesinghe may not be able to keep. Sri Lanka cannot solve its problems on its own. The COVID-19 pandemic ended tourism, a main source of revenue. Moreover, the Russian invasion of Ukraine—both countries are big sources of tourists for Sri Lanka—killed hopes for a recovery this year.

The issue, however, goes beyond tourist arrivals. The Ukraine war looks as if it is ending a decades-long period of globalization, and this transition is going to be difficult for countries that are especially dependent on others. The Sri Lankan crisis, therefore, is only the beginning. “Sri Lanka is the first country to buckle under the mounting economic pressures triggered by the war in Ukraine,” London’s Guardian stated. “It is unlikely to be the last.”

Sri Lanka also faces another difficulty: China. The dominant Rajapaksa clan, long thought to be in Beijing’s pocket, borrowed heavily from Chinese sources for misconceived ventures. Many of the “white-elephant projects” are in the Hambantota district, the home of the Rajapaksas.

The Hambantota port, losing $300 million in six years, was ill-conceived from the beginning. Port operators, therefore, were unable to service $1.4 billion in loans from China. Close to the port is a rarely used $15.5 million conference center. Thanks to a $200 million loan from China, Sri Lanka was able to build the nearby Rajapaksa Airport, which could not pay even its electricity bills.

In Colombo, there is Sri Lanka’s answer to Dubai: the Chinese-funded Port City, an island of 665 acres of landfill and a “hidden debt trap.” In that city is also the never-opened-to-the-public Lotus Tower, also funded by China. “What is the point of being proud of this tower if we are left begging for food?” asked Krishantha Kulatunga, the owner of a small stationery store near the landmark. “We are neck-deep in loans already.”

China extended around 17% of the country’s total debt. Very few know the full extent of the indebtedness to Chinese parties because there are hard-to-track loans to Sri Lanka’s state firms and to the country’s central bank.

Whatever their amount, Chinese loans have broken Sri Lanka. In April, it declared a suspension of repayment of foreign debt. The BBC reports that the suspension, the first default since independence, is “largely because it cannot service loans from China that paid for massive infrastructure projects.”

China is the world’s predatory lender, something evident from its Belt and Road Initiative, also known as BRI. Beijing’s grand infrastructure project specializes in roads, ports, and railroads that have, like the Sri Lankan projects, little or no commercial justification. So far, 146 countries have signed BRI memo agreements with Beijing. Some of them find themselves in hock to the Chinese.

The Chinese have established a pattern. “China extends debt on onerous terms, backs up authoritarian governments when there are financial collapses or civil disobedience, and then takes everything it can find,” Cleo Paskal of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies told Gatestone.

This pattern is evident in Sri Lanka. In December 2017, Beijing took control of the Hambantota port, grabbing 70% of the equity and signing a 99-year lease, after that project could not repay high-interest loans extended by China. Now there are concerns that Hambantota will eventually become a Chinese naval base.

China’s admirals have long eyed Sri Lanka: In both September and October 2014 the Sri Lankan government allowed a Chinese submarine and its tender to dock at the Chinese-funded Colombo International Container Terminal.

A base in Sri Lanka would allow Chinese aircraft and surface combatants as well as submarines to cut sea lanes in the Indian Ocean and force next-door India to divert military assets to a threatening presence.

It is no coincidence that Djibouti, also heavily indebted to Chinese parties, is now the site of China’s first offshore military base.

“This pattern is deep, entrenched, and expanding, and so it’s like the dominoes have all been set up and Beijing is perfectly happy to have them fall down so that it can come to the rescue economically and politically and entrench itself even more,” Paskal noted.

Sri Lanka is now looking for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund, but that is not necessarily a good idea. The international community should not be helping a voracious China gobble up small, vulnerable societies.

“It’s not financial restructuring that you need, it’s political restructuring that you need before you should put in any more money,” Paskal said. “If the IMF bails out Sri Lanka without ensuring that it is no longer aligned with Beijing, it will have subsidized Chinese investment and politically reinforced a country that becomes a Chinese proxy.”

DHS: ‘Domestic violent extremists’ are ‘infiltrating’ the abortion debate thumbnail

DHS: ‘Domestic violent extremists’ are ‘infiltrating’ the abortion debate

By Center For Security Policy

What would we do without the Department of Homeland Security? Those intrepid defenders of our liberties are showing these days how richly they deserve our taxpayer billions, as DHS officials, ever on the watch, warned on Monday that “domestic violent extremists” are “infiltrating” the national debate over abortion, with nefarious plans to “incite violence amongst their supporters.”

Now, I must admit, I’m not as sharp as the all the knives in the drawer over at the DHS, and I don’t have my finger on the pulse of threats to “our democracy,” which Leftists are constantly telling us is in imminent peril from people who believe in the U.S. Constitution and the basic goodness of the American experiment. So I hope that Alejandro Mayorkas and his henchmen, that is, colleagues, at the DHS will forgive me for not realizing that domestic violent extremists have only recently infiltrated the abortion debate. I had the crazy idea that domestic violent extremists had actually infiltrated the abortion debate decades ago; in fact, I thought they had been there from the very beginning. After all, there are people out there who think that those who dismember babies in the womb are performing a decent and righteous act; if that’s not domestic violent extremism, what is?

But that is, of course, not the kind of domestic violent extremism that the DHS has in mind. To be sure, our intrepid defenders didn’t specify exactly what kind of domestic violent extremism they did have in mind. ABC News reported that the DHS official who disclosed this warning “did not specify which side, if any, the extremists were taking.” However, it’s not hard to figure out which side the DHS has in mind. The FBI, as well as DHS officials, have quite frequently repeated the claim that “white supremacists” are the most formidable “domestic extremist” threat that the nation faces today.

This is an administration that has likened parents who have protested at school board meetings against Communist indoctrination and transgender propaganda in public schools to terrorists, while not saying a thing about genuine Antifa violence and thuggery, so when the DHS warns that “domestic violent extremists” are infiltrating the abortion debate, it’s absolutely certain that the people they are tarring with this label are pro-lifers. And while there have been a handful of pro-lifers who were violent in the past, it’s far more likely that DHS is equating dissenting words with violence.

Why do I say that? Because it has happened to me. Last year, the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), an organization created by Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube to police terrorism on the Internet, bizarrely designated my organization Jihad Watch a “violent extremist” group, despite the fact that pretty much all we do is type and report on jihad activity in the U.S. and around the world. In response to a letter from my attorney demanding a retraction, the GIFCT refused to back down. Those who designated Jihad Watch as a “violent extremist” group explained that we reported on violent activity — terrorist bombings, murders, etc. — and that this in some way “dehumanized” Muslims.

How we did this was left unexplained; it would have been impossible to explain, as it was absurd on its face. If reporting news that puts some group in a bad light is “dehumanizing,” the GIFCT and DHS should go after the establishment media for “dehumanizing” Trump and his supporters. The response to my attorney’s letter was essentially the increasingly common Leftist argument that speech that dissents from its party line is violence, and hence must be shut down.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, fresh from defending his sinister and Orwellian new Disinformation Governance Board, promises that his department is right on top of this alleged “domestic violent extremist” threat: “Over the past year, we in the Department of Homeland Security have improved and strengthened our approach to combating this dynamic, evolving threat.”

How reassuring. Meanwhile, Leftist pro-abortion ideologues have been demonstrating at the homes of the Supreme Court Justices who are likely to vote to overturn Roe v. Wade in a naked attempt to intimidate them into changing their vote. Despite the fact that it is a felony to demonstrate at private homes, the Biden administration has applauded these protests. The government is presently in the hands of thugs who believe that bullying and frightening people into submission is an acceptable political tactic. Can the DHS, in such an environment, spare even a few agents to try to head off any possible Leftist violence regarding a possible overturning of Roe? After all, Leftists are much, much more likely to be violent than pro-lifers. This is true both historically and recently and is indicated by the nature of what they’re so avidly defending.

Federal Judge Halts Biden Administration from Revoking Title 42 Immigration Enforcement thumbnail

Federal Judge Halts Biden Administration from Revoking Title 42 Immigration Enforcement

By Neland Nobel

A federal judge in Louisiana on Friday stopped the Biden administration from revoking Title 42, a public health authority that allows illegal immigrants to be quickly deported during a health emergency like the COVID-19 pandemic.

U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays in the Western District of Louisiana issued the order in a case filed by the attorneys general of Arizona, Louisiana and Missouri. The case later grew to 21 states. Texas also filed a separate lawsuit in a federal court in Texas. The attorney’s general argues ending Title 42 violates federal law and places an unfair financial burden on the states.

The administration announced it was ending Title 42 effective Monday, May 23, and estimated that roughly 18,000 people would enter the U.S. illegally a day once it was lifted.

In response to the judge’s ruling, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said, “I’m so proud of the lawyers from our office who just got our Temporary Restraining Order to keep Title 42 in place. We will continue to fight the Biden administration’s open border policies.

“Title 42 is one of the last tools we have left in our toolbox to stop an even greater flood of illegal immigration into our country,” he said. “While this is a good win, we gotta keep fighting. I’m going to do everything I can to stop the overreach of the Biden administration; and make sure that we enforce our immigration laws and … do everything we can to protect American taxpayers.”

The Biden administration later Friday said it disagreed with the ruling and would appeal it. “The authority to set public health policy nationally should rest with the Centers for Disease Control, not with a single district court,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. However, in compliance with the court’s injunction, the administration will enforce Title 42, she said. “This means that migrants who attempt to enter the United States unlawfully will be subject to expulsion under Title 42, as well as immigration consequences such as removal under Title 8.

“As the appeal proceeds, the Department of Homeland Security will continue planning for the eventual lifting of Title 42 in the light of CDC’s public health judgment, at which point anyone who attempts to enter the country unlawfully will be subject to Title 8 Expedited Removal proceedings if they do not have grounds to remain in the United States.”

The lawsuit that led to Friday’s ruling is one of many filed by Brnovich and other attorneys general in response to the Biden administration’s open border policies. Since Biden took office, an estimated 2.5 million people have entered the U.S. illegally even with Title 42 in place.

Due to widespread nonenforcement of immigration laws by the administration, the number of people entering illegally continues to break new records nearly every month.

Last month, more than 234,000 people were encountered entering the U.S. illegally, the greatest number in a single month in recorded U.S. history. That’s a 1,376% increase from the 17,106 encounters reported in April 2020 under the Trump administration.

These numbers exclude at least one million who’ve entered the U.S. illegally and evaded capture, known as “got aways,” according to estimates previously reported on by The Center Square. Last month, there were between 58,000 and 71,000 got aways recorded by Border Patrol, numbers that aren’t published publicly.

At a news conference in the Rio Grande Valley this week, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas maintained that ending Title 42 wouldn’t “mean the border is open on May 23,” KHOU 11 News Houston reported. “We continue to enforce the laws of this country,” he said. “We continue to remove individuals who do not qualify for relief under the laws of this country.”

Deportation was down last year by 70%, and at least 1.2 million people with deportation orders remain in the U.S. and haven’t been deported. Mayorkas has begun gutting Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation units across the country, according to recently retired ICE officials and law enforcement officers who’ve reached out to The Center Square. Last fall, Mayorkas also instituted widespread immigration policy changes, including declaring that being in the U.S. illegally isn’t a crime, even though federal law says it is.

Mayorkas has also radically altered the asylum process by granting administrative personnel judicial authority to adjudicate claims when Congress has only authorized judges to do so. Fourteen attorneys general, also led by Arizona, Louisiana, and Missouri, sued over this policy, hoping to halt it.

“Right now, immigration judges who are suffering a 1.6 or 1.7 million case workload, now they have exclusive jurisdiction,” Mayorkas said. “We are giving the asylum officers that jurisdiction. That is going to take what is now on average a six-to-eight-year-plus process between the time of encounter and the time of ultimate asylum adjudication to under a year.”

In the meantime, the attorney’s general said they will take the win handed to them on Friday.

“Once again, the courts rule against Joe Biden’s lawless agenda,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said. “Title 42 is one of the last remaining protections we have from a deluge of illegals coming across our border. I am glad for our state and our nation that It will remain in place.”

The administration will appeal the ruling, and the matter is likely to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

New Domestic Terrorism Law Will Criminalize Conventional Conservative Thought thumbnail

New Domestic Terrorism Law Will Criminalize Conventional Conservative Thought

By The Geller Report

Criminalizing American thought. It’s coming down fast. This is a coup.

”The greatest threat of domestic terrorism in American today is a corrupt federal government weaponizing its intelligence and law enforcement agencies against innocent American citizens that speak out against its tyranny” DC Draino

The current laws already clearly defined terrorism with no exceptions.  It’s the politicization of law enforcement.

Good morning everyone except the ‘Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act’HR-350, passed in the House by the very people this garbage bill should apply to, the Democrats.

— Mike Engleman🇺🇲 (@RealMike56) May 20, 2022

Andy McCarthy explains:

How interesting that the familiar array of Islamist-apologist and left-wing groups, notoriously opposed to U.S. counterterrorism efforts, has lined up in support of congressional Democrats’ latest push for a “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act.” Could it be because the proposed legislation goes out of its way to shield domestic terrorists who are catalyzed by foreign jihadist organizations?

You needn’t read far into the bill to hear the alarm bells.

Section 2 provides a definition for “domestic terrorism.” Sounds sensible . . . until you remember that federal law already has a definition of domestic terrorism. The term is codified by Section 2331(5) of …

Pretty clear the new Domestic Terrorism law would be exclusively used to police conventional conservative thought around free speech, k-12 schools and gun rights. https://t.co/rXk2TogqUk pic.twitter.com/ZNFNlukkaO

The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act Is Sheer Politics

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) prepares to call on a journalist during a weekly news conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., March 31, 2022.

By The Editors, National Review, May 19, 2022:

Anti-terrorism laws are supposed to be law-enforcement tools, not political stratagems. The so-called Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, which House Democrats began pushing after the January 6 riot and have now revived in the wake of the Buffalo massacre, is clearly a political stratagem.

The point of the revived proposal, which House Democrats plan to push to the floor for a vote in coming days, is not to beef up the government’s capacity to investigate and prosecute acts of terrorism committed inside the United States. That would merely be superfluous. Federal and state law-enforcement agencies already have a rich arsenal of authorities that enable suspected terrorists to be monitored and, if they plot or carry out mass murder, to be prosecuted and punished severely.

Instead, the Democrats’ proposal would actually create indefensible exceptions in terrorism law. It would narrow the scope of terrorist activity that existing statutes can reach — for the blatantly political purpose of labeling white supremacism, alone, as the nation’s urgent domestic security challenge. Toward that end, it would divert investigative resources from other terrorist threats. Democrats would then, we can be sure, demagogue conservative policy preferences — e.g., Second Amendment rights, free expression, opposition to progressive indoctrination in the schools and other institutions — as catalysts of white supremacism that must be monitored by the Justice Department.

As our Andrew C. McCarthy detailed when Democrats initially rolled out the proposal in early 2021, the legislation would tweak federal law’s current definition of domestic terrorism — a definition that properly encompasses all ideologically driven violence — in a manner that shields jihadist terrorism from its reach. That is why Islamist organizations, which align politically with Democrats and reliably oppose initiatives to improve national security, have expressed support for the proposed Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act.

Federal law does not detail a specific list of crimes that are designated as domestic terrorism; quite appropriately, it simply defines the broad term. A plethora of statutory offenses already address terrorist activity — as attested by the speed with which federal and state authorities responded to the mass murder in Buffalo.

In the realm of foreign terrorism, Congress has had to proscribe crimes because alien terrorists are non-Americans who predominantly operate outside U.S. jurisdiction, and thus beyond the otherwise limited authority of U.S. law enforcement and courts. By contrast, as the courts have acknowledged, domestic terrorism is inevitably and inextricably bound up with constitutionally protected dissent and association. As we learned from 20th-century domestic-spying scandals, loose legal standards invite the government to invoke “domestic terrorism” as a pretextual rationale for surveillance of the opposition.

For these reasons, the trigger for conducting domestic-terrorism investigations is evidence that a subject is engaged in criminal activity. That is a sensible red line. There are many potential crimes that terrorists commit in the preparation and execution phases of their operations, so the standard does not unduly restrain competent investigators from opening cases and monitoring suspects. Indeed, the more we learn about the Buffalo atrocity, the more questions there are about why police and prosecutors did not do more under existing law to follow up on a suspect who was known for a year to be dangerous and disturbed.

The Democrats’ proposal also calls for an array of federal security agencies to create domestic-terrorism units, in addition to establishing a new “Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee” made up of high-ranking law-enforcement officials, for the purpose of focusing microscopically on white supremacism. There would be mandatory training on how to combat white supremacism: Federal agents would be instructed on the supposed warning signs in order to prevent suspected “domestic terrorists” from infiltrating law-enforcement agencies. It does not require much imagination to grasp the abuses and politically motivated harassment this would encourage.

Federal agencies would have to account for their white supremacism-related cases; naturally, that would push them to generate such cases, regardless of whether evidence of actual criminal activity warranted investigation.

‘Total Failure’ — House Republicans Call On Biden To Invoke Clause That Would Provide Protection Against Foreign Invasion From Mexican Cartels thumbnail

‘Total Failure’ — House Republicans Call On Biden To Invoke Clause That Would Provide Protection Against Foreign Invasion From Mexican Cartels

By The Daily Caller

Republican Texas Rep. Troy Nehls sent a letter Thursday to President Joe Biden, calling on him to invoke the Guarantee Clause that would require the Executive Branch to protect the states from a foreign invasion.

The Daily Caller first obtained the letter that was signed by 32 other Republicans. In the letter, the GOP lawmakers mention 2.6 million encounters with migrants, reports of cartel members shooting at border enforcement and the over 100,000 Americans who have died from drug overdoses in a 12-month period.

“The Constitution clearly states that the President must guarantee states protection from invasion,” Nehls told the Daily Caller before sending the letter.

“With 2.6 million encounters at our border since President Biden took office, over 100,000 fatal fentanyl overdoses at the hands of the drug-traffickers, and numerous violent attacks on our brave border enforcement, it is clear the United States is facing invasion from the South. President Biden has turned his back on his constitutional duty to stop this border invasion — if he does not act, Republicans will when we take back Congress in November,” he added.

READ THE LETTER HERE:

Border agents encountered a record two million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2021. In fiscal 2021, they seized $3.31 billion in counterfeit goods, over 319,000 pounds of marijuana, over 190,000 pounds of methamphetamine and over 97,000 pounds of cocaine.

The letter also received support from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and Citizens for Renewing America.

“For the past year, we have encouraged border state governors to acknowledge an invasion is occurring on our southern border due to the intentional non-enforcement of our laws and a total failure of the Federal government to uphold Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution. What is transpiring on our border constitutes an invasion, and to date, the actions taken by governors has not alleviated or remedied the problem. Cartels maintain operational control of our unsecured order, facilitating an ongoing invasion that harms American communities. However, if these governors would use their authority to invoke the Self Defense Clause, it would be a gamechanger and stop the flow of devastation ruining our country,” Wade Miller, the executive director of Citizens for Renewing for America, told the Daily Caller.

Dan Stein, president of FAIR, also shared his support for Nehls’ letter.

“There is no question that border states are still in the middle of a historic crisis with no end sight, and sadly, Texas is the epicenter. Dangerous drugs and unknown individuals flood across our southern border every single day. Congressman Nehls outlines a persuasive case for why the federal government has abandoned its duties under the Constitution to protect the states from invasion, and FAIR supports his reasoning wholeheartedly,” Stein said.

The Daily Caller contacted the White House about the letter, to which White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre referred the Caller to the National Security Council (NSC). The NSC did immediately not provide a comment about the letter.

United States D.O.D issued a contract for ‘COVID-19 Research’ in Ukraine 3 months before COVID-19 officially existed thumbnail

United States D.O.D issued a contract for ‘COVID-19 Research’ in Ukraine 3 months before COVID-19 officially existed

By The Geller Report

And now we are sending BILLIONS over there. The more we know, the darker, more evil it gets.

This is a catastrophe of unimaginable proportion.

Excerpt:

There is one Sub-Award that stands out among the rest, and it was awarded to Labyrinth Global Health INC for “SME Manuscript Documentation and COVID-19 Research”.

An award for Covid-19 research isn’t exactly shocking when the world is allegedly in the grip of a Covid-19 pandemic, but considering the fact the sub-contract was awarded 12th November 2019, at least one month before the alleged emergence of the novel coronavirus, and three months before it was officially dubbed Covid-19, the award for Covid-19 research should come as a shock to everyone. [Click here to view the document]

But the shock doesn’t end there, because the place the contact for Covid-19 research was instructed to take place was Ukraine, as was the entire contract awarded by the DOD to Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp.

United States D.O.D issued a contract for ‘COVID-19 Research’ in Ukraine 3 months before COVID-19 officially existed

The world first started to hear about a novel coronavirus in early January 2020, with reports of an alleged new pneumonia-like illness spreading across Wuhan, China. However, the world did not actually know of Covid-19 until February 2020, because it was not until the 11th of that month that the World Health Organisation officially named the novel coronavirus disease Covid-19.

So with this being the official truth, why does United States Government data show that the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) awarded a contract on the 12th November 2019 to Labyrinth Global Health INC. for ‘COVID-19 Research’, at least one month before the alleged emergence of the novel coronavirus, and three months before it was officially dubbed Covid-19?

The shocking findings, however, do not end there. The contract awarded in November 2019 for ‘COVID-19 Research’ was not only instructed to take place in Ukraine, it was in fact part of a much larger contract for a ‘Biological threat reduction program in Ukraine’.

Perhaps explaining why Labyrinth Global Health has been collaborating with Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, and Ernest Wolfe’s Metabiota since its formation in 2017.

The Government of the United States has a website called ‘USA Spending‘, an official open data source of federal spending information. According to the site as of 12th April 2021, the US Government has spent a mind-blowing $3.63 trillion “in response to COVID-19”. But that’s not the only information on Covid that can be found on the site.

Hidden within the ‘Award Search’ are details on a contract awarded by the Department of Defense to a company named ‘Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp‘, which is allegedly “a global engineering, procurement, consulting and construction company specialising in infrastructure development”.

[Click here to view the document]

The contract was awarded on September 20th, 2012 and is described as “Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services”. Obviously, this is very vague and most likely of little interest to anyone who happens to stumble across it. But there is something contained deep within the details that should be of interest to anyone and everyone.

The ‘Award History’ for the contract contains a tab for ‘Sub-Awards’ detailing the recipients, action date, amount, and a very brief description for 115 Sub-Award transactions. Most of the Sub-Awards are extremely mundane for things such as “laboratory equipment for Kyiv”, or “office furniture for Kyiv”.

There’s much more. Read the whole thing….

New ‘domestic terrorism’ bill supposedly targets white supremacists and neo-Nazis thumbnail

New ‘domestic terrorism’ bill supposedly targets white supremacists and neo-Nazis

By Jihad Watch

The problem with this bill is that it is increasingly common for Leftists, including high-level members of the political and media establishment, to call all those who oppose the Leftist agenda “white supremacists” and “neo-Nazis,” including law-abiding Americans who abhor racism and fascism and are simply standing against Communist indoctrination, transgender delusions, and other lies foisted upon us from above these days.

Domestic Terrorism Bill Targets White Supremacists, Neo-Nazis

by Ellen M. Gilmer, Bloomberg, May 18, 2022:

Three federal agencies would be tasked with rooting out domestic terrorism threats within the government and across the US under a bill slated for a House vote Wednesday.

The measure (H.R. 350) would authorize domestic terrorism offices within the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the FBI. It would also require officials to assess White supremacist and neo-Nazi threats in the US and inside agencies.

The May 14 mass shooting of mostly Black victims at a Buffalo, N.Y., grocery store prompted renewed urgency for passing the bill after lawmakers scrapped plans for a floor vote last month.

Similar legislation (S. 963) is pending in the Senate but may face challenges if Republicans in that chamber take up their House colleagues’ complaints that the bill would allow federal officials to target everyday people as potential threats for speaking out about issues such as Covid-19 and school policies. Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the bill’s sponsor, said Monday that his panel will hold a hearing on the bill.

House bill sponsor Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) acknowledged that Republicans’ complaints about potential federal overreach have weighed heavily in the House but said Democrats would try to return focus to the bill’s purpose does during floor debate….

The House bill has also created friction on the left, with some groups, including the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, lauding it as a way to counter domestic terrorism without profiling racial and religious minorities. The [Hamas-linked — ed.] Council on American-Islamic Relations and others argued last month that agencies would inevitably use new authorities to target marginalized communities.

Bill supporters aimed to address those concerns this week through an amendment that tweaked the definition of domestic terrorism and added a section on First Amendment protections. CAIR, Defending Rights & Dissent, and other groups on Monday said they appreciated the changes and would no longer push lawmakers to vote no….

DOJ, DHS, and the FBI already have teams that investigate domestic terrorism. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the three agencies would need more than 100 new analysts, agents, lawyers, and support staff to address the bill’s requirements.

DHS Bulletin Vague on Growing Threat from Pro-Abortion Left-Wing Extremists thumbnail

DHS Bulletin Vague on Growing Threat from Pro-Abortion Left-Wing Extremists

By Center For Security Policy

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has finally published a counterterrorism bulletin covering the growing prospect of violence in the wake of the leaked supreme court draft opinion. But DHS fails to use the bulletin to identify the nature of any prospective threats, muting the value of the supposed warning.

From an ABC News report:

Domestic violent extremists have been infiltrating the national abortion debate ‘to incite violence amongst their supporters,’ a senior DHS official told state and local partners on a phone call Monday afternoon, according to a source familiar with the matter. The DHS official did not specify which side, if any, the extremists were taking.

The DHS bulletin notes that:

“threats discussed burning down or storming the U.S. Supreme Court and murdering Justices and their clerks, members of Congress, and lawful demonstrators.”

As the Center identified in a situation report two weeks ago, in the wake of the leaked draft opinion, pro-abortion protests have been staged in multiple cities, many of them led by organizations linked to known revolutionary communist organizations such as the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL). Anarchist and Antifa-linked social media accounts have openly proposed targeting crisis pregnancy centers – several of which have been vandalized in multiple states. This included two attempted Molotov cocktail attacks, in Oregon and Wisconsin. In the Wisconsin case, a communique issued by a group calling itself Jane’s Revenge took credit for the attack and promised more to come. The communique was extremely well received by anarchist social media. Jane’s Revenge has subsequently appeared as a graffiti tag in other vandalism and in online threats.

It is possible that some threats have also come from some pro-life advocates, but the violent rhetoric emanating from left-wing extremists on this issue is a relatively new development and a response to identifiable events. Examining this threat is an opportunity for analysts to understand the nature of left-wing extremist threats in some detail, including tensions between revolutionary communist and anarchist groups, and the growing promotion of underground organizing among anarchists in favor of violent direct action and against large-scale public protests, which such groups promoted during the Summer 2020.

Instead of understanding the detailed and varying nature of left-wing extremist groups, federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies continue to emphasize the use of generic, largely meaningless categorization of threats.

For example, both white supremacist and black identity extremist groups are categorized under the neutral category of “Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists” and both Anarchist and right-wing militia are categorized as “anti-government extremists.” But while the federal government permits the use of terms like “white supremacist” or “militia” it denies the use of terms such as “black identity” or “Antifa.” As a result, what the Federal counterterrorism community purports to be ideologically neutral categorizations actually promote a kind of ideological bias, produce intelligence products of minimal value, and stoke distrust in the institutions among regular Americans. It leads mainstream Americans to be targeted as extremists by agencies which lack the ability to distinguish between genuine ideological threats and mainstream political activity.

Ultimately, there can be no such thing as neutral enforcement against ideological threats to national security. This is why both the Constitution and congressional legislation obligates federal officers to swear an oath to defend the Constitution –and not some theoretically neutral position. But doing so necessitates understanding such threats accurately and in the context of their opposition to the U.S. Constitution and the first principles –regardless of to which “wing” they are understood to belong.

Markets Are Yelling Mayday thumbnail

Markets Are Yelling Mayday

By Dan Sanchez

Editors’ Note: As far back as last summer, The Prickly Pear began to warn about 2022 being a “risk-off” year.  Those elements of the economy, including stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and real estate that have been elevated by easy money, will tend to suffer when the easy money is taken away. We are now well into the process as the author explains. However, market action will be uneven, and markets rarely decline without lots of zig-zag interruptions. Recent data suggest the market are for the moment getting very oversold, pessimism is running deep, and under those conditions, a contra trend rally or bounce can be expected. If we are correct that such a rally will ensue fairly soon, this may be the last opportunity for investors to sell into strength to make whatever asset allocations adjustments they and their advisor may feel necessary for their particular circumstances. However, in the somewhat longer term, all markets will have to adjust to a higher interest rate environment, less monetary stimulation, and likely a slowing economy.

An aircraft pilot about to crash will repeat the distress signal “Mayday.” Throughout the “May days” of this month so far, financial markets have been sending distress signals that may indicate an imminent crash of their own. The major stock market indices have all been experiencing steep sell-offs since May 4, extending a decline that began around the end of March.

Most analysts attribute the sell-off to inflation fears. Traders aren’t worried about how inflation will directly affect the economy, but how it will influence the decisions of a handful of bureaucrats. They fear that it will lead Federal Reserve officials to tighten the money spigot that is driving the inflation in the first place.

The Fed’s money pumping has driven up prices across the board, but especially the prices of capital goods (the value of which is derived from the value of the future consumption goods they will yield) relative to present consumption goods. That ratio, as Austrian economists explain, is the basis for interest rates. By distorting it with its money pumping, the Fed has artificially lowered interest rates so as to “stimulate” the economy.

This has been the Fed’s standard operating procedure since its founding in 1913, but it has precipitously ramped it up since the advent of Covid in order to prop up an economy staggering under the burden of draconian governmental responses to the disease.

If, as traders fear, the resulting inflation prompts the Fed to ease up on the money pumping, that will allow interest rates to rise by pulling out the props holding up capital prices at artificially high levels relative to present consumption goods. This upheaval in relative prices will translate into severe losses for most businesses, revealing that, lured by the Fed’s artificial stimulus, they had overextended themselves.

This general spike in market losses is what’s known as a “crash” and “recession.”

Wall Street is right to expect it, but it would be wrong to push for policies to forestall it, as it often does. A recession is a tough time, but it’s not a bad thing. The artificially inflated bubble was the bad thing. An economic bust is a necessary and beneficial repair of the economic distortion and damage that occurred during the deceptively pleasant artificial boom. The more you delay this repair, the more distortion and damage will accumulate, and the more painful the later repair will have to be.

The bust we need will be extremely painful because the Fed has been money-pumping at ever-increasing unprecedented levels and without stint since the financial crisis of 2008. But kicking the can down the road even further will only mean an even more painful bust when the Fed finally does relent.

And that’s if we’re lucky. If the Fed never relents, its policy will eventually result in hyperinflation, which can be a civilization-killer.

The market is crying out Mayday. Let it crash. And then let it rebuild and re-ascend sustainably under its own power.

The government got us into this mess, but only the market can get us out. And, as the poets say, the only way out is through.

Readiness Problem? The U.S. Military Is Sending Its Own Weapons to Ukraine thumbnail

Readiness Problem? The U.S. Military Is Sending Its Own Weapons to Ukraine

By Stavros Atlamazoglou

One day after Russian forces invaded Ukraine, the U.S. started sending military aid to Ukraine in waves. U.S. allies and partners followed suit, and Ukraine has been able not only to stop but push back Russian forces with Western weapons.

The American-made FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank weapons and the British-made Next Generation Light Anti-tank Weapon (NLAW) have been a hit with Ukrainian forces, enabling them to destroy thousands of Russian tanks, armored personnel carriers, and infantry fighting vehicles. Lots of other weapon systems have contributed too.

Since the start of the war on February 24, the U.S. Department of Defense has gone deep into its inventories and picked weapons for the Ukrainian military nine times for a total of $3.77 billion worth of weapon systems.

Drawdown Authority

Drawdown authority allows the Pentagon to go to its own arms stockpiles and pick weapon systems to send to Ukraine.

The U.S. Department of Defense has sent the following packages of military aid to Ukraine:

  • February 25: $350m
  • March 12: $200m
  • March 16: $800m
  • April 1: $300m
  • April 5: $100m
  • April 13: $800m
  • April 21: $800m
  • April 24: $322m
  • May 6: $100m

One very natural and expected question is whether the transfer of so many weapon systems to Ukraine is affecting U.S. military readiness.

“I can assure you that we are not at the point where our inventories of these systems have … or will imminently affect our readiness. We’re comfortable that our stocks are in keeping with our readiness needs. But we obviously know that, as these packages go on, and as the need continues inside Ukraine, we want to lead turn … We want to be ahead of the bow wave on that and not get to a point where it becomes a readiness issue,” Pentagon Press Secretary John F. Kirby had said in April.

Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has played a key part in getting all of these billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine.

As of last week, the Pentagon had a mere $100 million left in drawdown authority, making the passage of the proposed massive package of aid to Ukraine necessary if the U.S. wishes to continue to support the Ukrainian military.

Tlaib, Omar, AOC, other Leftists introduce resolution calling Israel’s founding a ‘catastrophe’

By Jihad Watch

The real catastrophe is that there are open supporters of the genocidal “Palestinian” jihad against Israel in the United States House of Representatives.

Tlaib, Squad introduce resolution recognizing ‘catastrophe’ of Israel’s creation

by Ronn Blitzer, Fox News, May 17, 2022:

House members led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., introduced a resolution Monday calling for U.S. recognition of the “Nakba,” a term meaning “catastrophe” that is typically used by Palestinians to refer to the establishment of the state of Israel.

The resolution was submitted a week and a half after Israeli Independence Day, which coincides with Palestinian commemoration of Nakba Day. It calls for the U.S. to “commemorate the Nakba through official recognition and remembrance,” while claiming that this “refers not only to a historical event but to an ongoing process of Israel’s expropriation of Palestinian land and its dispossession of the Palestinian people that continues to this day.”

“The Palestinian people since the 48 Nakba have been living under oppression and violent racism. Silence + blank checks enables more death and violence,” Tlaib tweeted, referencing the year Israel was created and recognized via a U.N. resolution, and U.S. financial support for the Jewish state.

Tlaib, who is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, submitted the resolution on behalf of herself and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Cori Bush, D-Mo., Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., Marie Newman, D-Ill., and Betty McCollum, D-Minn. Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez and Omar are among a group of left-wing Democrats known as the “Squad,” which has often taken anti-Israel positions.

The resolution claims that Palestinians opposed the U.N.’s 1947 recommendation to partition the territory then known as Palestine into two states, one for Arabs and one for Jews. It states that prior to Israel declaring independence on May 14, 1948, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had fled their homes “often after attacks by Zionist militias.” It does not make reference to the use of some of those areas by invading Arab nations to attack Israel….

Massive Drug Smuggling Tunnel Found Between Mexico And U.S. thumbnail

Massive Drug Smuggling Tunnel Found Between Mexico And U.S.

By The Daily Caller

Authorities discovered a large cross-border drug smuggling tunnel in California, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California announced Monday.

The tunnel, linking Otay Mesa, California and Tijuana, Mexico, was 1,744 feet long, 61 feet deep and 4 feet in diameter, and had reinforced walls, a rail system and electricity, according to the Attorney’s Office. The tunnel was about 350 feet from the border with Mexico, U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman said during a press conference.

Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents discovered the tunnel Friday while on surveillance of a residence that was used for cocaine smuggling in March, according to the Attorney’s Office. As a result of the bust, six people were charged with conspiring to distribute 1,762 pounds of cocaine.

“There is no more light at the end of this narco-tunnel. We will take down every subterranean smuggling route we find to keep illicit drugs from reaching our streets and destroying our families and communities,” Grossman said in a statement.

Authorities were able to make several arrests while following vehicles going in and out of the warehouse to pick up drugs, according to a complaint. Agents pulled over the individuals, finding narcotics in their cars.

“The San Diego law enforcement community has multiple investigative task forces that highly prioritize tunnel detection- exemplified by this tunnel discovery by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Diego led Costa Pacifico Money Laundering Task Force. The San Diego law enforcement community throughout the years has consistently shown its ability to detect and remediate tunnels while bringing those responsible to justice,” HSI San Diego Special Agent in Charge Chad Plantz said in a statement.

The 1968 Tet Offensive and the Battle for the City of Huế — Memories of an Airborne Soldier thumbnail

The 1968 Tet Offensive and the Battle for the City of Huế — Memories of an Airborne Soldier

By Dr. Rich Swier

“Hue had become a city of the dead.” ― Mark Bowden, Hue 1968: A Turning Point of the American War in Vietnam

This story is dedicated to the men of the 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry (2/501) who fought in the critical Battle for Hue. According to the US Army Center of Military History, “The fight for Hue turned into a slow, grinding campaign of attrition that lasted nearly a month before the enemy was finally defeated.”

I dedicate it to men like SSG Joe Ronnie Hooper and SSG Clifford C. Sims, Delta Company, 2/501, both of who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, SSG Sims posthumously. SSG (later Captain) Hooper was second only to Audie Murphy in the number of awards and decorations with 37 compared to Murphy’s 38.

I dedicate it to the 2/501 airborne infantry Commanders: LTC Richard Tallman, Battalion Commander; Captains Reiss, Alpha Company, Nickels, Bravo Company, Denny Gillem, Charlie Company; 1st Lieutenant Cleo Hogan, Delta Company (the Delta Raiders) and 1st Lieutenant Buch, Recon Platoon leader. All were and still are true leaders of men.

Men like Captain Ken Crabtree, Commander, B Battery, 1st Battalion, 321st Field Artillery, who was my boss, mentor and personal friend. Lieutenant Colonel Crabtree would be killed on April 17, 1984 in a SWAPO guerilla bombing near the Angolan border, SW Africa. But that is another story for another time.

The Battle of Huế began on January 31st, 1968 and ended on March 2nd, 1968. I was there as a field artillery forward observer with the 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry Airborne, 2nd Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division.

This is my story. I am writing this on the 54th anniversary of the Battle of Huế to honor those men I served with who gave the last full measure in defense of our nation and the Vietnamese people.

I am also writing this for those who were not there on the ground and those who have never heard of the Battle of Huế.

I do this because those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

My Background

My father was born in Kyiv the capital of Ukraine. My grandfather graduated from Kyiv’s Bogomolets National Medical University school of medicine. My grandfather, grandmother and my father then moved to Moscow where my grandfather opened a medical practice. My grandfather was required to serve in the Czar’s army as a medical officer. After the November 1918 Bolshevik Revolution my grandparents and father had to flee Russia as the Bolsheviks were killing Czarist officers.

My father after the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. My father reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before the end of WWII. After the war he married my mother who bore three children. All boys of which I am the oldest.

After completing my college education I joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. My branch was one of the three combat arms the field artillery (13). The other two combat arms are infantry (11) and armor (12). I served 23-years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Now let’s look at my memories of the Battle of Huế.

The Battle of Huế

The Battle of Huế was also know as the “Siege of Huế.” It was a major military engagement in the Tết Offensive launched by the Communist North Vietnamese Army (NVA) in conjunction with their Communist allies in South Vietnam know as the Viet Cong (VC), made up of para-military gorilla units.

The Tết Offensive and the battle of Huế was considered a turning point in the war. It was a turning point on the ground in Vietnam were American forces with their allies and the South Vietnamese Army defeated the onslaught of the NVA and VC. Using American air supremacy and the professionalism of the combat units deployed in country the NVA and VC were totally defeated and in many cases decimated. U.S. and allied forces killed, destroyed and removed a large percentage of the NVA and VC forces. They were driven into the A Sầu Valley and from there fled South Vietnam back to Cambodia and Thailand.

However, on the streets of Washington, D.C. the anti-Vietnam War protestors convinced the U.S. government and the American people that all was lost.

We are now facing yet another war involving Russia, just as Russia was involved in the Vietnam War.

From July 1965 to December 1974, more than 6000 generals and officers and more than 4,500 soldiers from the former Soviet Union were sent to Vietnam as specialists. Small contingents of auxiliary forces from other states like Bulgaria and Cuba accompanied the Soviet specialists.

When the Tết Offensive began my infantry unit was located in was later known as Phu Bai combat base south of Huế where U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps combat units were stationed during and after the Tết Offensive.

On January 30-31, 1968, the base was hit by Vietcong mortar and rocket fire as part of the Tết Offensive. The base was used to support U.S. and Army of the Republic of Vietnam forces fighting in the Battle of Huế.

To this day I can remember the motor and rocket fire my unit took. An thus for me and my fellow airborne soldiers the Tết Offensive began.

I was in A Company when Tết Offensive began and we moved out with the objective of taking the Western wall of the Đại Nội Citadel located in ancient city of Huế which had already been overrun by the NVA and VC forces. My unit was attached to the 1st Calvary Division at that time.

The battles were many and long and hard fought by both sides. It took us over 30 days to reach our final objective the Western wall of the Đại Nội Citadel.

One thing is in my mind that will not ever be forgotten. As we approached the Đại Nội Citadel we came across the Huế Kim Long Church (click here to view the church) where many Christians were hiding from the Communist forces. We liberated the Church. Kim Long Church was established in the 17th centaury.

However, as we were speaking to the people who were liberated our unit encountered one sniper who kept firing upon us and those whom we had just liberated.

We eventually found and killed this sniper but not until the sniper shot my recon sergeant who was standing next to me. It was at that moment is said to myself “there but by the grace of God go I.”

When Hue was liberated we found over 7,600 civilians in shallow graves. Men, women and children with their hands tied with barbed wire behind their backs with gun shots in the back of the head by their NVA occupiers. Yet another Communist atrocity in South Vietnam that the American press refused to report on was this massacre.

I vividly recall that on the morning of February 26th a small boat pulled up to the A Company CP, located in a three story building along the Perfume River. The Perfume River (Sông Hương) is a river that crosses the city of Hue. In the autumn, flowers from orchards upriver from Hue fall into the water, giving the river a perfume-like aroma.

In the boat were a Vietnamese man and his very pregnant wife who was in labor. Our company medic was called into action and with the help of some hot water delivered a beautiful baby boy. I remember thinking that God is sending a message that life goes on even among all the carnage we had witnessed since January 31st.

The 2/501 left Hue in unit formation counting cadence all the airborne way. We lined up by company and marched out of the city to our next mission. Along the way young children would pull on our 101st Screaming Eagle shoulder patches, saying “Chicken die, chicken die” – so much for our liberating the Vietnamese from their NVA oppressors.

The road to hell made a turn for the 2/501 troopers to reopen QL – 1 or Highway 1, also known to the French as “the Street without Joy” and then due West into the A-Shau valley (the Valley of Death) and triple canopy jungle.

The Bottom Line

My infantry company was part of that bloody battle to drive the NVA and VC out of Hue and eventually out of South Vietnam. We accomplished both missions with minimum casualties on our side but massive casualties on their side.

The Tet Offensive and the Battle of Huế played an important role in weakening U.S. public support for the war in Vietnam because Walter Cronkite and the legacy media began telling the public that the Vietnam War was lost.

WATCH: 53 years ago Walter Cronkite calls for the U.S. to get out of Vietnam.

The reality on the ground was that Tet 1968 was a total and complete military disaster for the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and the Viet Cong (VC). Once the Tet Offensive began it became clear that U.S. and allied forces, using their military advantage in capabilities and their air supremacy, killed or captured tens of thousands of enemy Communist forces.

Those of us who were on the ground during Tet 1968 saw us winning and winning big.

This was my first experience with fake news that lost us a war that we won.

I hope this never happens again, ever.

I believe that the United States should enter a war with one purpose in mind – win at all costs. Our mantra must be unconditional surrender of the enemy. We must demand the unconditional surrender of our enemies, just as we did in World War II.

Airborne, all the way.

‘Shocking Discovery:’ Biden Knows Drug Cartels Control, Profit From Illegal Immigration, DHS Memo Shows thumbnail

‘Shocking Discovery:’ Biden Knows Drug Cartels Control, Profit From Illegal Immigration, DHS Memo Shows

By Bethany Blankley

Border patrol agents are preparing for “a possible increase in migrant activity due to an increase in large group activity” as a result of Biden administration immigration policies, an internal Department of Homeland Security document released by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody says.

It specifically sites suspending the Migrant Protection Protocols, otherwise known as the Remain in Mexico Policy, and terminating the public health authority, Title 42, as contributing to an influx of people coming to the U.S. southern border from Central and South America through Mexico.

“This is a shocking discovery,” Moody said. “It contradicts what the Biden administration has been telling the American people and shows that the Mexican drug cartels are profiting off the mass migration of unvetted immigrants to fund an increase in violence at the border.”

Attorneys general from multiple states has sued the administration over terminating both policies, including Texas AG Ken Paxton and Missouri AG Eric Schmitt, who recently argued before the Supreme Court asking it to require the administration to follow the law and reinstate the MPP.

“We are in the midst of a national opioid crisis and the deadliest drugs are being smuggled into our country from Mexico,” Moody said in a statement. “President Biden knows this, yet he continues to double down on his terrible immigration policies knowing full well these policies are emboldening and enriching the very drug cartels who are profiting off the deaths of thousands of Americans.”

Entitled “U.S. Customs and Border Protection Overview of the Southwest Border,” the 8-page redacted document describes the role of Mexican cartels and transnational, organized-criminal networks in smuggling people to the U.S.

It states, “…we assess that smuggling networks are very active in promoting the flow of migrants through Mexico as drug trafficking organizations maintain control of the primary trafficking corridors into the United States. The drug trafficking organizations’ control of these corridors allows them to regulate the flow of migrants as well as charge migrants a ‘tax’ … for the right to pass through the corridors.

“Transnational criminal organizations will exploit migration flows and entrench themselves in the smuggling cycle. TCOs endanger vulnerable individuals, amass illicit profits that feed cartel violence in Mexico and along the border, and create a volatile border environment.”

The document also “proves that the Biden administration knows that its disastrous border policies are responsible for the influx of illegal migrants,” Moody says. She points to a section that states that “irregular migration,” which is new terminology DHS is using to refer to illegal immigration, “will likely increase in the fiscal year 2021 as economic opportunities emerge and migrant perceptions of U.S. immigration policies shift.”

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and DHS officials are preparing for an influx of people, having “initiated contingency planning in anticipation of a potential surge of illegal migration,” the document states, with preparation to move them into the U.S.

It points to Biden administration policies, including, “the pause in the use of removal pathways such as the Migrant Protection Protocols, Asylum Cooperation Agreements, and Prompt Asylum Claim Review,” as factors contributing to increased migration, which have restricted CBP and Border Patrol agents’ ability over the last year to process and remove those in the U.S. illegally.

Total CBP encounters with illegal immigrants at the southwest border totaled nearly 2.5 million since February 2021, Moody notes, with deportations down by 70% last year.

TAKE ACTION

America is now aware of the Department of Homeland Security’s new ‘Disinformation Governance Board’. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas called disinformation a “threat” that needs to be addressed with federal law enforcement power. (Is it coincidental that Elon Musk will shortly take Twitter private and re-establish a free speech platform in America?)

This new DHS office is the Biden Speech Police and represents an existential threat to our First Amendment and our Republic. Please click the adjacent red TAKE ACTION link for the resources to inform your Senators and Representatives about this unconstitutional and tyrannical assault on American Free Speech and our fierce rejection of it.

Biden reverses Trump withdrawal, sends U.S. troops back to Somalia

By Jihad Watch

Is it really America’s job to solve all the world’s problems? What difference can fewer than 500 troops make, anyway? With America suffering from so very many problems at home, is this really the best use of the nation’s resources? Or is it all just to make sure that the military-industrial complex continues to show a profit for all concerned?

Biden approves plan to redeploy US troops to Somalia

by Natasha Bertrand CNN, May 16, 2022:

(CNN)President Joe Biden has approved a request by the Pentagon to redeploy US troops to Somalia in an effort to counter the terrorist group al-Shabaab, a senior administration official said on Monday.

The move reverses a decision by President Donald Trump to withdraw all US troops from the country in 2020.

The US will reposition US forces in east Africa and move to restore a US military presence in Somalia in consultation with the Somali government, the official told reporters on Monday. The official said “under 500” troops will be sent back into the country but declined to provide a precise number. He emphasized, however, that the Pentagon “will not be restoring the full contingent of operators present in Somalia before” the previous administration’s withdrawal, which was about 750 military personnel.

The official described the Trump administration’s withdrawal as “abrupt and sudden,” and said that al-Shabaab “has unfortunately only grown stronger” since then.

“We have seen, regrettably, clear evidence that al Shabaab has the intent and capability to target Americans,” the official said, noting that the group had killed over a dozen Americans in east Africa in recent years, including three at a US military base in Kenya in early 2020….
