Why do Biden and Harris get a free pass on migration but not Trump?

Criticise Trump if you will, but when Biden and Harris adopt the same policies, be consistent: criticise them, too.

You can be for or against open borders; immigration is a difficult debate, and I respect anybody who sensibly argues for either side.

But you have to be consistent. I have no respect for people who demonise a politician for having a position on immigration and laud another politician when she defends exactly the same position.

Sadly, this is precisely what the liberal media in the United States have been doing for years. President Donald Trump was persistently portrayed as a bogeyman who hates immigrants because of their skin colour. But, this narrative leaves aside that his predecessor, President Barack Obama, had deported more people than any other previous US President, to the point that some sensible critics called him the “Deporter in Chief”.

Not to be outdone, in a recent visit to Guatemala, Vice-President Kamala Harris told citizens of that impoverished Central American nation: “Do not come. Do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our borders.”

So, why do Obama and Harris get a free pass, whereas Trump doesn’t?

Because the “medium is the message”. This concept goes back to Canadian literary critic Marshall McLuhan, who argued that the way a message is conveyed, rather than its actual content, is what really influences people. Two people can say exactly the same thing, but if they use different media to convey the same message, people will perceive it differently.

When McLuhan came up with this concept in his 1964 book Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man, he had in mind differences in mass media (print vs audiovisual, etc). But we are now entering a new era of “the medium is the message.” The differences between, say, newspaper and television are not so important as the differences between the identities of the people who convey messages.

In our day and age, identity politics reigns supreme and that is what really determines how messages are perceived.

Consequently, it is time to point out the elephant in the room: Obama and Harris get a free pass because of their skin colour. Obama used illegal drone warfare in Pakistan, bailed out banks, and massively increased surveillance control— the kind of policies that the Left has always found disturbing. But very few progressives managed to point out the obvious. They ran the risk of being called “racists” for daring to criticize the first black President in American history, so they mostly kept their mouths shut.

To his credit, Obama never went as far as to say: “Vote for me because I am black”, but many voters (including some celebrities) did unashamedly admit that they voted for him simply on the basis of identity. The actor Samuel L. Jackson, for instance, told Ebony in 2012: “I voted for Barack because he was black. Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people—because they look like them.”

Whether consciously or unconsciously, Obama used that to his advantage. He knew that his skin colour would be the message itself. The American people cared little about the content of the message and were in search of a medium to free themselves from the burden of guilt for a long history of racial injustices. They found it in the hip Obama who would smile, play basketball, and walk the right way, but who would do the very same objectionable things many of his predecessors had done.

To a large extent, Kamala Harris is Obama 2.0.

Once the US had finally its first black President, it was time for its first black woman Vice-President (presumably as a platform to reach the presidency four years later). With Harris, her identity became even more salient. In Obama’s case, one still had to read inbetween the lines to see how race played to his advantage. For Harris, the pretense was over. Joe Biden explicitly said that he would choose a woman for his electoral ticket, preferably a black woman.

And perhaps even more so than Obama, Harris’s identity has become the message itself. She is all too aware of this, and very smartly uses it to her advantage. She knows that she can get away with presenting a campaign video with radical Left ideas of equity, and only a few months  later deliver in Guatemala an anti-immigration speech that is almost verbatim the same as those delivered by a former President who is portrayed by liberal media as a white supremacist.

It is time to go back to the basis of common sense. Ideas are to be judged on their own merits, regardless of the skin color — or genitals— of those who profess them. Opening borders to immigrants may or may not be a good idea. But, for crying out loud, be consistent! What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

VIDEO: Biden Administration Turning America Into Unconstitutional Sanctuary Country

The Biden administration’s Executive Orders to end interior enforcement of our immigration laws are in direct opposition to the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and undermine national security, public safety, public health and the jobs and wages of Americans.

WATCH:

The Truth About Immigration Can Unite All Americans

America has become dangerously polarized and immigration has become one of the most divisive issues.

In this climate of strident and aggressive confrontations, Americans are reluctant to engage in an open discussion. They have been intimidated by the radical left.

Who could ever forget Congresswoman Maxine Waters exhorting her followers to confront members of the Trump administration in public, or New York’s Governor Cuomo vilifying ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents, calling them thugs, inciting attacks on ICE agents.

Providing the truth about immigration would unite all Americans irrespective of their political orientations, in the understanding that border security and fair but effective immigration law enforcement are vital for national security, public safety, the livelihoods and wages of American workers, and a host of other issues.

The acrimonious arguments about immigration are not based on facts but on a fiction created by globalists whose tactics and use of deceptive language come directly from George Orwell’s “1984,” blurring the distinction between illegal aliens and lawful immigrants. This is damaging and insulting to lawful immigrants.

To provide a bit of clarity, the difference between an illegal alien and a lawful immigrant is comparable to the difference between a houseguest and a burglar.

We often refer to America as a “nation of immigrants” and, in point of fact, last year the United States, even under the Trump administration that has been falsely accused of being “anti-immigrant,” admitted more than one million lawful immigrants — that is more than the rest of the world combined.

President Jimmy Carter cynically mandated that INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) employees substitute the bogus term “Undocumented Immigrants” for the term “Illegal Aliens.”

The term “Alien” is not a pejorative. It is a legal term that simply means, “Any person, not a citizen or national of the United States.”

Over time Carter’s deceptive language profoundly skewed public perceptions about immigration law enforcement.

I addressed these tactics “sleight of tongue” in my article, “Language Wars: The Road to Tyranny Is Paved with Language Censorship.”

The immigration system has become a highly efficient delivery system that delivers an unlimited supply of cheap and exploitable labor, an unlimited supply of foreign tourists, a nearly unlimited supply of foreign students, and a limitless supply of clients for immigration lawyers.

Consider that a massive amnesty program would not get the illegal aliens “out of the shadows” but into the waiting rooms of immigration law firms across America.

This why both the Democrats and the Republicans claim that since we cannot arrest and deport 11 million illegal aliens, ostensibly, the best “solution” is to provide them with lawful status.

This is a “bait and switch” tactic that takes immigration law enforcement off the table as a means of countering massive levels of immigration law violations, replacing it with a debate about whether to place these heretofore illegal aliens on pathways to citizenship or “only” provide illegal aliens with lawful status, permission to work, and the right to bring their families to the United States.

The Democrats have created Sanctuary Cities and called for dismantling of ICE. However, neither party has ever proposed hiring more ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents to address the immigration crisis. Currently there are about 6,000 ICE agents for the entire United States of America and more than half of ICE’s resources are focused on customs law enforcement and other law violations that have nothing to do with immigration.

Contrast that ridiculous number with the 45,000 employees of the TSA and the NYPD’s more than 37,000 police officers to protect New York City.

Mandatory E-Verify has been proposed but never approved. However, even with mandatory E-Verify, without ICE agents to conduct field investigation, unscrupulous employers could simply successfully hire their illegal workforce “off the books.”

As Americans we all share common goals. We must emphasize those common goals in discussions with our fellow Americans to combat the “divide and conquer” strategies of the globalists of both parties.

All Americans, irrespective of superficial factors such as race, religion, or ethnicity, want our military to keep our enemies as far from our shores as possible, our police to keep our communities safe, and our schools to effectively educate our children so that any child willing to study hard, work hard, and benefit from a bit of luck can write the next success story.

Many decent and compassionate Americans have been conned into believing that those who support secure borders and effective but fair immigration law enforcement are bigots, xenophobes, and racists when nothing could be further from the truth.

Our fellow Americans are not our adversaries but our allies, if we can win them over. The truth, the facts, laws, commonsense, and morality are all on our side.

Effective but fair immigration law enforcement is essential for all of those goals noted above.

Let the fact-based discussions begin!

Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico: “Biden” at Fault For Border Crisis

Every rational, loyal American thinks the same thing……

Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico: Biden at Fault for Border Crisis

By, Edwin Mora, Breitbart, June 10, 2021:

Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador, three Latin American countries vital to addressing the migrant surge, have all blamed the Biden administration’s promise of better treatment and policies for the border crisis.

On the eve of Kamala Harris’ visit to Guatemala Monday, marking her first foreign trip as vice president, Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei repeated his position during an interview that aired Sunday on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” that the Biden administration’s more welcoming tone is responsible for attracting the historic migrant surge overwhelming resources and personnel at the U.S. southern border.

The Biden administration’s promise that it will “reunite” migrant families and children with their relatives in America are incentivizing his compatriots to emigrate, Giammattei told CBS News.

“The message [for migrants] changed [under Biden] too: ‘We’re going to reunite families, we’re going to reunite children,’” he added.

“The very next day [after the Biden administration’s welcoming message], the coyotes were here organizing groups of children to take them to the United States,” Giammattei, who has blamed President Joe Biden’s lenient border security policies for the surge in the past, declared.

The Guatemalan government did not respond to Breitbart News’ request for an unedited video or transcript of the CBS News interview. CBS News did not provide an unedited version of the interview or the full transcript of the exchange.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) has also repeatedly indicated his American counterpart Joe Biden’s overwhelmingly more welcoming tone that began to develop during the U.S presidential campaign near the end of the Trump administration, when the migrant surge began, has “created expectations” among migrants from Mexico and Central America that crossing the border is almost guaranteed under the new American commander-in-chief.

Critics such as the Mexican government and Republicans believe Biden’s move to rescind the Trump-era border security policies and measures to enforce immigration laws in the interior of the country are at fault for the humanitarian crisis unfolding at the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. President denies the allegations, insisting the border is closed even as his administration continues to release illegals and asylum-seekers into American communities.

In May, the Washington Post reported:

Mexican officials, including Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, have been privately frustrated with Biden’s rapid-fire rollback of Trump policies, according to current and former U.S. and Mexican officials, because Mexico thought Biden’s moves incentivized migration in the short term while his proposed solutions consisted of long-term measures [such as addressing the root causes of migration and providing $4 billion in assistance over four years] that could take years to make a difference.

Central Americans from the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, the primary source of  the surge, and migrants from outside the Americas, traveling from as far as Africa and Asia, have taken these policy changes, as well as the more lenient border security approach under Biden as a sign this president is inviting them to cross the border.

In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson that aired in March, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele attributed the surge at the U.S.-Mexico border to three reasons:

  • A lack of economic opportunities
  • The absence of security in Latin America
  • Incentives provided in the United States

He stressed that it is his country’s responsibility to provide better economic opportunities and security to prevent people from leaving. Bukele has previously said he favors commerce with the United States private sector over U.S. taxpayer-funded foreign aid that has failed to make any changes in the years the U.S. has been sending assistance to Central America.

The lack of economic opportunities is “bad for the United States because immigration will go up, and it’s bad for our country because [of] people leaving the country … so it’s bad for both of us,” he proclaimed.

Bukele emphasized that U.S. incentives for migrants are gutting El Salvador of people who could contribute to the economy in their home without leaving.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), citing overcrowded and sometimes unsanitary conditions at processing centers and detention facilities, is releasing the detainees to American communities without court dates, granting them the opportunity to reunite with their loved ones without any mechanism to ensure they will report to immigration authorities.

Apprehension of illegal migrants from places such as Africa, Asia, and other regions outside the Americas by Panamenian authorities suggest that details behind Biden’s tolerant border policies have reached places all over the world.

The New York Times reported in May that the U.S. is now releasing most of those migrants who are apprehended into the United States where they are reunited with loved one despite the Trump-era pandemic control protocols (Title 42) kept in place by the sitting president. Title 42 allows the government to remove any illegal immigrants amid the pandemic to stem the spread.

However, the Biden team is not applying Title-42 removal exemption to unaccompanied children, mainly from Central America, and vulnerable single adults persecuted for their sexual orientation, among other reasons.

Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who U.S. prosecutors have accused of being involved in state-sponsored narco-trafficking activities along with his brother, has been silent about the border crisis, unlike other times.

May Apprehension Numbers Leave No Doubt That Border Chaos is the Biden-Harris Policy

DHS Secretary Mayorkas Has to Go.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed that immigration authorities apprehended 180,034 illegal aliens at the southern border in May—marking the fifth consecutive month of increased illegal immigration and the highest monthly total since President Biden took office.

“What we are witnessing is an unprecedented immigration crisis that threatens national security, national health, and the economic interests of the American people. What makes it unprecedented, is that it is a crisis created and perpetuated by the Biden administration,” commented Dan Stein, president of FAIR. “As chief architect of the border and immigration crises, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas must resign or be fired.

“Not only are the record-breaking numbers of illegal migrants entering our country a threat to the interests and security of the United States, they are also further destabilizing countries to our south. Even with Vice President Kamala Harris engaging in a public relations tour of Guatemala and Mexico to talk about the ‘root causes of migration,’ the presidents of those two nations are publicly blaming her administration for creating the crisis and strengthening the malign grip of criminal cartels. Rather than addressing the root causes of migration, the Biden-Harris policies are creating new root causes,” Stein charged.

“While the vice president is engaging in a transparent publicity stunt, Secretary Mayorkas continues to design and implement border enforcement and immigration enforcement that ensure that more illegal migrants can enter the country, and that virtually no one who is here illegally will ever be removed,” Stein continued. “He, and the people he is appointing to key positions within the department, are busy undermining the very laws they are sworn to enforce.”

FAIR is joining with members of Congress, including many border district Democrats, local government officials, and citizens from all across the country, in demanding that the Biden-Harris administration take immediate steps to restore order and credibility to our border and immigration policies. These include:

  • Resumption of border wall construction.
  • Reinstatement of the recently canceled Migrant Protection Protocols.
  • Maintaining COVID-related Title 42 authority to immediately remove border-crossers.
  • Ending catch-and-release policies.

“More than 180,000 border apprehensions in a single month leaves little doubt that chaos at the border is the Biden-Harris policy, and that Secretary Mayorkas, who is charged with carrying it out, must go,” Stein concluded.

WATCH: Internet Erupts Over Kamala Harris’ Response To Grilling By NBC For Claiming Admin Has Been To Border

The Biden Administration believes that the people who are illegally pouring across our Southern border will eventually become longtime voters for the Democrat Party. That is why the Biden Administration has no intention of securing our Southern border. The amount of crime, chaos, and costs that emanate from this crisis means nothing to them.

By Daily Wire, June 8, 2021

Vice President Kamala Harris ignited a firestorm online on Tuesday morning after she claimed during an interview with NBC News that the administration has been to the border amid President Joe Biden’s border crisis, which prompted quick pushback from host Lester Holt.

“Do you have any plans to visit the border?” Holt asked.

“At some point, you know, we are going to the border, we’ve been to the border,” Harris claimed. “So this whole, this whole, this whole thing about the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”

“You haven’t been to the border,” Holt responded.

“And I haven’t been to Europe,” Harris responded.

WATCH:

Below are some of the responses to Harris’ remarks:

Chad Gilmartin: “Looking forward to Vice President Harris’ visit to the U.S.-Europe border!”

Mark Bednar: “‘I haven’t been to Europe.’ – VP Kamala Harris, President Biden’s point person on the border crisis, defending her decision to not go to the southern border.”

Ashley Hinson: “VP Kamala Harris said that ‘we’ve been to the border.’ Spoiler alert: She hasn’t. The VP would rather meet with foreign leaders than with border patrol agents who are dealing with these issues on American soil. I will continue to call out her failure to secure our border.”

Unanimous Supreme Court: Illegal Immigrants Do Not Have A Right To Green Cards

Law and order. Finally.

Unanimous Supreme Court: Illegal Immigrants Do Not Have A Right To Green Cards

By: Daily Wire, June 7, 2021:

In a 9-0 decision issued Monday morning, the Supreme Court ruled that a law, barring illegal immigrants from seeking green cards, is constitutional and that those illegal immigrants who later earned a Temporary Protected Status (TPS) are still ineligible to apply for permanent residency.

Justice Elena Kagan, widely recognized as one of the Court’s more liberal justices, wrote the unanimous opinion, upholding a rule that barred “unlawful entrants” who later received Temporary Protected Status from applying to remain in the United States. Temporary Protected Status technically “gives foreign nationals nonimmigrant status,” Kagan noted, but TPS does not rubber-stamp an “unlawful entry.”

The TPS status “applies to people who come from countries ravaged by war or disaster. It protects them from deportation and allows them to work legally. There are 400,000 people from 12 countries with TPS status,” according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

The Court was called upon to decide whether a “couple from El Salvador who have been in the U.S. since the early 199s” who were given protected status in 2001 but who originally “entered the country illegally” were actually “admitted” into the United States when they were given protected status, enabling them to apply for a green card.

Kagan was clear, in her opinion, that they were not. “The TPS program gives foreign nationals nonimmigrant status, but it does not admit them. So the conferral of TPS does not make an unlawful entrant…eligible,” she wrote.

If Congress had wanted to confer “admission” into the United States along with Temporary Protected Status, Congress had an opportunity when they wrote the law, Kagan noted. She also suggested that Congress could approve “pending legislation” that refines the Temporary Protected Status to include “admission.”

“Congress, of course, could have gone further, by deeming TPS recipients to have not only nonimmigrant status but also a lawful admission,” Kagan said in her opinion, writing for the unanimous court. “Legislation pending in Congress would do just that.”

“The House of Representatives already has passed legislation that would make it possible for TPS recipients to become permanent residents,” Kagan noted, per the Star-Tribune. “The bill faces uncertain prospects in the Senate.”

Although the case likely does not impact most immigrants who entered the United States illegally, it does affect around 400,000 people from 12 countries — “Haiti, Honduras, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen” — if they did not enter the U.S. by “lawful” means.

More importantly, “[t]he case pitted the Biden administration against immigrant groups that argued many people who came to the U.S. for humanitarian reasons have lived in the country for many years, given birth to American citizens, and put down roots in the U.S.,” per the Star-Tribune — groups that are already uneasy with President Joe Biden’s immigration agenda, and who have been pressing the administration itself to be more liberal when it comes to allowing immigrants who entered the United States illegally to stay.

VIRGINIA: Pakistani Muslim indicted for scheme to smuggle illegal migrants into US from Pakistan and Afghanistan

Do the feds know where all the people Abid Ali Khan brought in are, and what they’re doing? What might illegal migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan be up to in the United States? Can that question even be asked, or is it “Islamophobic”?

Pakistani National Indicted and Sanctioned for Human Smuggling Conspiracy

by Steven McLoud, Diálogo, May 25, 2021

On April 7, a federal grand jury in Virginia indicted a Pakistani citizen for allegedly leading a scheme to smuggle undocumented individuals into the United States from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to court documents, between January 2015 and December 2020, Abid Ali Khan, allegedly organized, led, and worked with others in his Pakistan-based smuggling network to facilitate the travel of undocumented individuals to the United States. Khan also allegedly encouraged, induced, and brought undocumented individuals to the United States for commercial advantage and financial gain.

“Khan allegedly led a global human smuggling operation that used fraudulent documents and international travel routes to facilitate the entry of unauthorized individuals into the United States,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Raj Parekh for the Eastern District of Virginia. “We are committed to holding accountable those who seek personal monetary gain by compromising and undermining the integrity of the immigration process.”

In a recent Homeland Security Investigation (HIS) in Miami, it was revealed that Khan allegedly accepted payment in exchange for planning and coordinating international travel for foreign nationals from Pakistan through multiple countries, including Brazil….

FAIR Urges the Department of Labor to Protect the Jobs and Wages of American Workers

Washington, D.C. – The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has submitted public comments to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), urging the agency to raise the wage rates employers are required to pay foreign workers and implement worker-protection rules that were promulgated under the Trump administration. The January 2021 rule, which was delayed after President Biden took office, would establish more realistic wage scales aimed at discouraging U.S. employers from bypassing American workers in favor of cheap foreign labor.

“To ensure that employment-based visa programs operate in line with Congressional intent and are not administered to the detriment of U.S. workers’ interests while exploiting their foreign counterparts, FAIR supports implementation of DOL’s final rule to raise wage rate levels,” the comment reads. “More must be done, however, to improve the effectiveness of the updated prevailing wage rates. DOL must require that all wage levels conform to the statutory requirement of meeting or exceeding the prevailing wage and should implement additional safeguards to ensure that foreign workers are not exploited while U.S. workers are unfairly stripped of economic opportunity and high- quality labor conditions in their own country.”

“Whether DOL requires employers to pay guest workers market wages or not presents a true test for President Biden and the DOL,” said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. “On one hand, the president presents himself as an advocate for American workers, and DOL’s explicit purpose is to protect those interests. On the other, his administration has made it clear that they support a virtual open borders immigration policy. Those two interests are at odds as DOL considers the fate of the rule. The decision will make it absolutely clear which is more important to this administration: the jobs and wages of American workers, or unchecked immigration.”

As expected, powerful business lobbyists and mass immigration groups have flooded DOL with comments from the other side, with the end goal of more cheap foreign labor for unscrupulous employers.

“FAIR’s position is unambiguous. In our comments to DOL, we forcefully urge them to side with American workers by adopting rules that both eliminate incentives for employers to displace and undercut American workers, and ensure that those guest workers whose services are legitimately needed are compensated fairly,” Stein concluded.

Wake Up, America! The Destruction of U.S. Sovereignty Through Open Borders and Mass Migration

The Attempted Destruction of U.S. Sovereignty Through Open Borders and Mass Migration.

In February 2015, then-Vice President Joe Biden signaled his enthusiasm for open borders:

“I’m proud of [the Obama administration’s] record on immigration. Not only our Muslim communities, Asian communities, Hispanic communities. And the wave still continues. And it’s not going to stop. Nor should we want it to stop. An unrelenting stream of immigration. Non-stop, non-stop. And that’s a good thing.”

During his 2020 presidential campaign, Biden let refugees and illegal immigrants know they would be received with open arms if he was elected. Once inaugurated as the country’s new president, Biden moved quickly in keeping his promise:

  • In a single month, February, 100,000 illegal immigrants were allowed by Biden to cross the Southern border.
  • In March, the number swelled to 170,000 border encounters with illegals.
  • In April 2020, when Trump was in office, there were 17,000 border encounters with illegals and “refugees.” In April 2021, the number skyrocketed to 178,000, an increase of 950%. Some projections say the total for 2021 could approach two million, all of whom know that surrendering to the Biden Border Patrol will ensure a quick and hassle-free pass to the U.S. destination of their choice.
  • To maximize the inflow of desperately-poor migrants, Biden last week granted “temporary protected status” to Haitian illegals due to “poverty.”

As president, Biden has resurrected Obama’s “catch and release” policy, i.e. releasing detainees into the interior of the country before their cases have been decided in court. Many are given free transportation to Republican states and districts, and without being tested for Covid. Assigned a future court date, few will ever show up.

Biden is housing the migrant tidal wave in taxpayer-provided hotel rooms, and one Democrat-run state, New York, is giving up to $15,000 to illegal immigrants hit by Covid. In attempting to culminate the long-standing progressive goal of doing away with America’s borders—and thus its sovereignty—Biden is intentionally destroying our two-party constitutional democracy bit by bit, nowhere more so than by opening the southern border to what he proudly refers to as “an unrelenting stream” of poor, uneducated, non-English speaking migrants, all of whom will be eligible for free health care, free educations, free housing, free food and soon, full citizenship.

George Soros: The Puppet Master of a Borderless World

The national identities of every progressive-run nation in Europe are being methodically erased, and the same approach is being attempted here in America by the post-1960s Democratic Party. Encouraging open borders as the primary means of destroying the unique national identities of western nations is the foremost goal of billionaire globalist George Soros and his communist fellow travelers in the western world.

Soros is the most prolific financier of the communist push for a world without borders. In his anti-capitalist best-seller, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, Soros sets out the progressive strategy for a western world under communism. Complaining bitterly about “the sway of sovereign nations,” Soros spends immense sums each year fostering “open society alliances” among contiguous sovereign nations. A world made up of open societies. It sounds so wonderful, so non-threatening. It is anything but.

The goal of these alliances is to shame citizens of western nations to accept the high-mindedness of doing away with national identities in favor of a collectivist “we are the world” identity, through which people are systematically conditioned to no longer see themselves as citizens of their country, but as Citizens of the World. (In his 2008 Berlin speech, Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama told an adoring crowd of 200,000 European Marxists, “I come to you as a Citizen of the World.”)

Citizens of sovereign nations who oppose the unfettered influx of migrants and refugees are shouted down as racists and xenophobes. Once open border alliances have been solidified, the last obstacle would thus be cleared for a borderless world subject to the dictates of a new international governing body run by the UN, an organization infested from top to bottom with hardened Marxists. For global governance to happen, the sovereignty of the United States must first be eliminated, a treasonous mission being prosecuted by the post-1960s Democratic Party through its active support of open borders and virtually unrestricted mass migration.

By extending the welcome mat to unprecedented numbers of non-white, non-assimilating migrants and refugees, progressive leaders in Europe and the U.S. have moved a giant step closer toward erasing national identities. With sovereign nations rendered impotent, the specter of a world under the banner of the hammer and sickle would become a fate accompli.

When the election of Donald Trump dealt a devastating setback to the near-term realization of an America subverted from within by the Marxists in our midst, Soros penned an angry rant comparing Trump to Hitler, and calling him a racist and a xenophobe. Known as “The Puppet Master” because of the enormous influence his deep pockets exert on the Democratic Party hierarchy, Soros’s foremost target in taking down sovereign capitalist nations is the crown jewel of them all, the United States of America. In tirelessly working toward the culmination of that takedown, the billionaire communist mastermind has influential friends at the highest levels of the modern Democratic Party.

Wake up, America!

Even Newsweek Can’t Ignore Immigration Crisis On Southern Border

A first step, hopefully, in reporting the truth?

On May 13, 2021 Newsweek published an interesting article about an element of the immigration crisis, Asylum Seekers Dropped Off by Border Patrol Strain Resources of Arizona Border Towns.

Apparently even a leftist publication like Newsweek can no longer ignore the crisis on the southern border that was exponentially exacerbated by executive orders and policies of the Biden administration that have reversed many of the most successful policies and actions of the Trump administration that include the construction of the hotly contested border wall, the “Remain in Mexico” policy for aliens applying for political asylum and the curtailment of most immigration law enforcement activities carried out within the interior of the United States, essentially ordering beleaguered agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to stand down.

The Newsweek article, however, focused exclusively on the impact this human tsunami is having on small border town in the United States that lie along the U.S./Mexican border that are being overwhelmed by crush of aliens and on how this impacts the aliens.

However, what must also be recognized is how this immigration crisis impacts the residents of these cities and their residents who have become the unwitting victims of the Biden immigration crisis.  (I believe in giving credit where credit is due!)

Of course the impact of illegal immigration may be most obvious in the numerous towns and cities that lie along the dangerous and highly problematic U.S./Mexican border but there are two additional issues that are largely being ignored by the complaint mainstream media so that most Americans still do not understand the profound impact that illegal immigration has on towns and cities across our vast nation.

First of all, most illegal aliens do not remain in those so-called “border towns” and “border cities” but quickly head to towns and cities across the entire United States.

Back in the late 1970’s When I was assigned to the Anti-Smuggling Unit at the New York District Office of the former INS my colleagues and I conducted surveillance of airline flights from the four states that lie along the southern U.S. border, particularly the “Red eye flights” so named because they flew during the night, carrying bleary-eyed passengers.

We frequently encountered illegal aliens who had boarded those airliners shortly after running the southern border.  Some of them were still wearing their filthy, mud-encrusted boots and clothing.  Not all  of these illegal aliens were from Mexico or even from Central America.  Some came from countries from around the world.

Second – we are a nation of not four but fifty “border states.”  Any state that lies along the northern as well as the southern borders are “border states” as are those states that have access to America’s 95,000 miles of coastline.  Finally, any state that has an international airport is also a “border state.”

For decades the open borders crowd maliciously and falsely castigated advocates for border security and effective but fair immigration law enforcement by referring to them as being “Anti-Immigrant,” “xenophobes,” “racists” and “haters.”

Our immigration laws make absolutely no distinction about race, religion or ethnicity or that the purpose of our immigration laws is to prevent the entry and continued presence of aliens who pose a threat to public health, national security, public safety and the jobs and wages of Americans.

A review of 8 U.S. Code § 1182, a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), will readily confirm the importance and reasonableness of the purpose of our immigration laws, it enumerates the categories of aliens who are statutorily inadmissible.

There is nothing “Anti-Immigrant” about seeking to prevent criminals, terrorists or others who pose a threat from entering the United States just as it is not “Anti-Social” to be careful about who we allow into our homes.

While immigration has traditionally been portrayed as a single issue, in reality immigration is a singular issue that profoundly impacts nearly every challenge and threat facing America and Americans in this particularly difficult and, indeed, perilous era.

What is rarely, if ever reported, is how, ultimately, the flood of aliens into the United States impacts towns and cities across the entire United States undermining national security, public safety, public health and the jobs and wages of Americans while also having a negative impact on healthcare, education and other critical issues, not just for the hapless residents of the border towns discussed in the Newsweek article, but in towns and cities across the United States.

For example, in December 2007 the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued a report, The Impact of Unauthorized Immigrants on the Budgets of State and Local Governments that noted:

In terms of public education, unauthorized immigrants who are minors increase the overall number of students attending public schools, and they may also require more educational services than do native-born children because of a lack of proficiency in English. Analyses from several states indicate that the costs of educating students who did not speak English fluently were 20 percent to 40 percent higher than the costs incurred for native-born students.

Consider the impact that a torrent of foreign students has on the education of American children, particularly when many of these foreign students lack English language proficiency.

Schools are forced to spend more money to not only educate these foreign children but also provide special services such English as a Second Language training, thus cutting funding for other vital necessities such as Early Intervention and various therapists for children with learning disabilities.  Less money will be available for providing quality education for the students of American schools by, for example, upgrading labs, computers and other essential equipment and resources for American children who have already spent a hellish lost year as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic that denied them access to their schools.

This, of course is never discussed in the media or by most politicians who, having taken campaign contributions from globalist organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are literally and figuratively indebted to those globalist entities.

Interior enforcement of our immigration laws is a critical element of what should be a coherent immigration program to enforce our laws and also to deter massive illegal immigration as I touched on briefly at the beginning of my commentary today.

As I noted in my recent article, Interior Enforcement And The Border Crisis:

On February 18, 2021 the Washington Post reported that a Biden memo for ICE officers points to fewer deportations and strict oversight.” According to the Post, ICE agents will need preapproval from a senior manager before trying to deport anyone who is not a recent border crosser, a national security threat or a criminal offender with an aggravated-felony conviction.” The Biden administration expects this policy to result in a steep drop in immigration arrests and deportations.”

In other words, with a mere stroke of his pen, Biden has virtually eliminated the statutory authority that ICE agents have to make warrantless arrests of suspected illegal aliens. This sends a clear message to the agents, that anything they do can (and likely will) be used against them.

Furthermore so-called sanctuary” policies implemented by numerous mayors and even some governors further undermine any remaining vestiges of interior enforcement and hence undermine national security and public safety. Sanctuary states now provide drivers licenses to illegal aliens. New York state even went so far as to block ICE and Border Patrol access to its DMV database, Cuomos gift to ISIS, the drug cartels, and human traffickers.

As these hundreds of thousands of aliens are dispersed across the United States they will have little to fear if they fail to show up for immigration hearings.  Under Biden’s Executive Orders, illegal aliens may not be arrested unless there is an outstanding warrant for that alien and he/she has an extensive criminal history.

Not all of these aliens are from Latin America.  A significant number have come from countries fro around the world, including countries that have known affiliation with terrorism.  It is likely that among these aliens are criminals, fugitives, gang members and terrorists.

Meanwhile, while the Border Patrol is hamstrung caring for alien children, many aliens are evading the Border Patrol altogether and are so-called “Get Aways.”  There is absolutely no way of knowing who they are, where they are from, where they are headed or what their ultimate goals are.  This creates a national security / public safety nightmare.

The official report, 9/11 and  Terrorist Travel – Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States provided this warning on page 98 under the title Immigration Benefits:

Terrorists in the 1990s, as well as the September 11 hijackers, needed to find a way to stay in or embed themselves in the United States if their operational plans were to come to fruition. As already discussed, this could be accomplished legally by marrying an American citizen, achieving temporary worker status, or applying for asylum after entering. In many cases, the act of filing for an immigration benefit sufficed to permit the alien to remain in the country until the petition was adjudicated. Terrorists were free to conduct surveillance, coordinate operations, obtain and receive funding, go to school and learn English, make contacts in the United States, acquire necessary materials, and execute an attack.

Perhaps now that Newsweek has been forced to begin to report on the immigration crisis, other supposed news organizations will follow and hopefully look further than the southern border.

The Ministry of Truth was a key element of Orwell’s novel 1984 – but  it has no place in the United States of America.

The Biden Border Crisis is Restricting Resources for U.S. Citizens and Legal Immigrants

Washington, D.C. – The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) submitted a public comment to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recommending policy changes to deter illegal immigration and fraud in the legal immigration system, which unsustainably strains and diverts agency resources away from lawful immigration programs and legitimate immigrant and nonimmigrant applicants.

Last month, DHS requested input from the public on how to reduce barriers to access immigration benefits. FAIR’s policy recommendations, if implemented, would help reduce barriers and delays for those seeking legal immigration benefits

“Under the Biden administration, illegal immigration has soared to levels not seen in 20 years. Asylum abuse is rampant as the administration has shown minimal effort to protect the integrity of our legal immigration system. The Biden Border Crisis is negatively impacting the American public, U.S. workers, and immigrants’ and nonimmigrants’ ability to access lawful immigration benefits,” said Dan Stein, president of FAIR.

Specifically, FAIR urged DHS to:

  • Utilize section 235(b)(2)(C) of the INA (requires certain arriving aliens to wait in Mexico pending their removal proceedings with an immigration judge in the United States) or reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP);
  • Reunite unaccompanied alien minors with family in their home countries;
  • Rescind restrictive enforcement priorities that exclude nearly all deportable aliens and enforce immigration law in the interior of the United States;
  • Require asylum officers to apply the mandatory bars to asylum and higher credible fear standards;
  • Maintain “last in, first out” asylum processing priorities in order to discourage aliens from filing fraudulent asylum applications for the sole purpose of receiving work authorization;
  • Terminate USCIS’s practice of accepting requests for reconsideration after an Immigration Judge has concurred with a fear screening determination;
  • Terminate unlawful parole programs, including the Central American Minors Program (CAM) and International Entrepreneur Parole (IEP);
  • Revoke unlawful regulations permitting certain discretionary issuances of employment authorization documents;
  • Increase higher-paid and higher-qualified workers access to employment visas; and
  • Terminate the unlawful DACA program.

“These recommendations would enhance eligible immigrant and nonimmigrant applicants to access lawful immigration benefits and minimize unreasonable processing delays. They would also eliminate many of the pull factors that encourage fraud and abuse of the asylum system, which has resulted in historic backlogs and delays. Most importantly, they also serve the interests of the American public by addressing pull-factors for illegal immigration, reducing unfair competition in the domestic labor market, and enhancing border security, which implicates national security and public safety,” Stein concluded.

“Biden” Admin Steals $2 Billion from COVID, Health Spending To Pay For Illegal Migrants

The most corrupt, illegitimate “administration” in American history, and that’s saying A LOT.

One objective – destroy this great nation.

Biden admin diverts $2B from COVID, health spending to care for migrant kids

By: NY Post, May 15, 2021:

The Biden administration has pulled more than $2 billion out of programs authorized by Congress for COVID-19 testing, emergency medical supplies and other health needs — and is spending it on shelter for the 45,000 unaccompanied migrant children that have flooded across the US border this year.

The Biden administration has pulled more than $2 billion out of programs authorized by Congress for COVID-19 testing, emergency medical supplies and other health needs — and is spending it on shelter for the 45,000 unaccompanied migrant children that have flooded across the US border this year.

The Department of Health and Human Services siphoned $850 million out of funds allocated for testing in President Biden’s massive $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill, Politico reported Saturday.

Secretary Xavier Becerra pulled $850 million more out of a fund meant to replenish the Strategic National Stockpile of items like medical gloves, masks, antibiotics and ventilators, and yanked $436 million out of other health programs, according to HHS spokesman Mark Weber.

Such transfers are legal, as long as Congress is notified.

In all, $2.13 billion have been poured into emergency shelters near the US-Mexico border, where kids have been crammed into jail-like “pods” that allow for no social distancing.

The report came just days after Becerra appeared before a congressional committee to plead for another $905 million to be pumped into the pandemic-depleted stockpile.

The news of the cash diversion had Republicans — who have blamed the spiraling border crisis on Biden’s executive orders rolling back President Trump’s strict immigration policies — fuming.

“The President single-handedly created this crisis and is now misplacing billions in taxpayers’ money,” Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) told The Post.

“The answer to every problem is not to throw money at it,” said Malliotakis, who excoriated Biden after visiting the border in April. “In this case, it’s simply rescinding his executive order, reinstating President Trump’s border protocols, and going after the cartels and smugglers.”

In recent weeks, a Texas nonprofit won two HHS no-bid contracts totaling nearly $620 million to provide “emergency intake” services for migrant children shortly after hiring a former Biden aide.

DHS Created ‘Operation Sentinel’ To Combat Human Trafficking but it should be renamed “Operation Back Rub.”

On April 27, 2021 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a press release, DHS Announces Operation to Target Criminal Smuggling Organizations, that heralded the creation of what was described as a new multi-agency anti-smuggling effort, “Operation Sentinel.

Here is how the press release began:

WASHINGTON — Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas today announced a new counter-network targeting operation focused on transnational criminal organizations affiliated with the smuggling of migrants.

Transnational criminal organizations put profit over human life, with devastating consequences,” said Secretary Mayorkas.  “With the help of our federal and foreign partners, we aim to cut off access to that profit by denying these criminals the ability to engage in travel, trade, and finance in the United States. We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed.”

The new anti-smuggling effort, called Operation Sentinel, is a collaborative effort with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of State, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice.

It is hard to imagine that the Biden administration is sincere about its desire to combat human trafficking and alien smuggling, because, as I noted in my recent article, “Biden Amps Up The Immigration Delivery System,” The refusal to declare a border crisis is more than a matter of semantics.

Could it be that the administration created the illusory Operation Sentinel to respond to the concerns of the American public but not to actually combat the smugglers who are part of the immigration delivery system?

On April 19, 2021, roughly one week before the DHS issued the press release about the creation of Operation Sentinel, The Hill published an opinion piece, “Biden’s border polls lower than bottom of Rio Grande,” that began with the following:

Despite the best efforts of the Biden administration to dismiss criticism or shift blame to the previous president, the American people are increasingly dissatisfied with Biden’s border fiasco.

recent Heritage Action poll in sixteen battleground districts” finds that the White House’s policies on the border and immigration are underwater. The most stunning part of these results is the spreading dissatisfaction across region and party. Everyday Americans are looking through the spin and seeing an administration that is ideologically driven, incapable of effectively dealing with a crisis, and working against the interests of everyday Americans.

When parents are confronted by screaming children, especially in the middle of the night, they generally seek to calm the child so that he/she will go back to sleep and so that they themselves, can go back to sleep. Frequently these harried parents gently rub the upset child’s back, perhaps offer them some slightly warm milk and talk to them in a soft and soothing tone of voice to calm and reassure the agitated child that everything is really okay.

Therefore, perhaps, “Operation Sentinel” should be more appropriately be named “Operation Back Rub.”

Clearly the White House understands that millions of Americans are extremely unhappy with the crisis on the U.S. Mexican border, that these irate Americans needed to be soothed, and their understandable concerns assuaged — hence “Operation Sentinel” was created to placate agitated Americans.

Simply declaring the creation of an operation can be utterly meaningless if adequate resources are not committed to the effort and there is a lack of meaningful oversight.

To determine just how sincere the administration is about addressing human smuggling, we need to consider a number of questions to peel back the curtain on Operation Sentinel and find out if the administration is going to commit meaningful resources to this operation.

Here are a few such questions:

  1. How long will this operation run?
  2. How many agents from each member agency are to be assigned to this operation? Are they to be exclusively dedicated to Operation Sentinel or will they carry collateral assignments?
  3. Are full-time prosecutors also being assigned to this operation? If so, how many?
  4. How many analysts and other support personal will be assigned to Operation Sentinel?
  5. How much money is going to be dedicated for various operational expenses associated with this operation?
  6. How will oversight be conducted and what will the critical elements of the agents a’ job description and evaluations of those assigned to this operation include? (In other words, what constitutes “success”?)

These questions that address the resources that will be brought to bear in this new operation are important and are the questions that true journalists must ask, but there is another overriding question that causes me to believe that in reality, Operation Sentinel is nothing more than a public relations ploy that is not only doomed to fail, but was designed, from the outset, to fail.

But before we get to that “show stopper” we need to understand that for Biden and his globalist supporters, the immigration system has become a delivery system that delivers an unlimited supply of cheap and exploitable labor, an unlimited supply of foreign tourists, an unlimited supply of foreign students and, to the delight of immigration lawyers of both the Democrat and Republican Parties, an unlimited supply of clients for immigration law firms.

The immigration delivery system also delivers a huge supply of potential union members, and tenants who will force the price of housing through the roof — increasing the wealth for those in the real estate and banking industries.

That is good news for those who are feeding at the very lucrative immigration trough, literally and figuratively “making out like bandits; not, however, good news for the growing population of the homeless Americans resulting from housing prices soaring through the stratosphere while Americans face job loss and wage suppression.

Consider that the policies of the Biden administration that encourage and embolden aspiring illegal aliens from all over the world, to head for the United States, are still in place even after DHS announced the creation of a multi-agency task force to supposedly combat human trafficking.

Such a task force is certainly a good idea, but to be successful, the administration must begin by turning off the powerful magnets that draw these aliens from around the world to the United States in the first place.

Sanctuary polices of cities and states further undermine and counter any efforts to combat these smuggling operations.

While the DHS press release claims: “We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed,” that statement ignores the most critical facet: the smuggled aliens and the incentives for them to come to the United States by whatever means they choose, knowing that ICE has been essentially ordered to “stand down” and the Biden administration has terminated all of the successful measures implemented by the Trump administration to gain control over our nation’s borders.

Now here is the “Show Stopper”: How can the Biden administration be serious about dismantling alien smuggling operation while ignoring the smuggled aliens themselves, who are at the heart of these criminal operations?

This would be the equivalent of creating an operation that targets narcotics trafficking organizations but then seizes no illegal drugs found during the course of the investigation, instead actually allowing the drugs to be sold on street corners.

Biden’s immigration policies severely restrict ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents from arresting illegal aliens unless the aliens in question are aggravated felons.

Speaking from my own personal experience as a former INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) agent, generally immigration agents build cases against human trafficking organizations by arresting illegal aliens and then questioning them about the way that they managed to enter the United States.

Eventually enough aliens are arrested who are willing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation to identify the smugglers and provide addresses of safe houses and other such facts that lead to a successful investigation and subsequent prosecution.

Under Biden’s restrictions, however, ICE agents today are not able to arrest illegal aliens who may have the information that is required to conduct successful investigations into alien smuggling and human trafficking

In the past ICE agents encouraged such illegal aliens to cooperate with their investigations and become cooperating witnesses and informants by offering these aliens the opportunity to remain in the United States for a limited period of time with permission to lawfully work. When their cooperation was of a sufficient importance, aliens could be rewarded with visas that would enable them to become permanent residents of the United States and thus have their immediate family members join them in the U.S. as lawful immigrants.

However, by executive order, the Biden administration has implemented a de facto amnesty which further hobbles any efforts to identify and dismantle alien smuggling operations. As a result, under Biden’s policies, illegal aliens have no incentive to cooperate with law enforcement authorities or abide by any of our laws.

It has been said that we only have one chance to make a first impression. For millions of people around the world the first impression of the United States is how we enforce or fail to enforce the first American laws they are likely to encounter — our immigration laws.

Biden’s message is clear: violations of these vital laws, that are supposed to protect national security, public health, public safety and the jobs and wages of Americans, will not only be tolerated, but richly rewarded.

This is why, in my view, DHS’ “Operation Sentinel” should be renamed “Operation Back Rub.” Perhaps, Biden could set up kiosks around the country to serve up some slightly warm milk for concerned Americans, to go with the press release that serves as the predication for my commentary today

Biden’s Immigration Policies Prove His ‘Jobs Program’ Is A Con

Without a tighter labor market this administration’s initiatives won’t improve the lives of Americans.

On March 31, 2021 the White House issued a news release regarding Biden’s “American Jobs Plan” that laid out ambitions for far more than creating good jobs. Before we even consider, though, how the Biden administration would supposedly create good-paying jobs for Americans, let us remember how his administration is dealing with immigration—or, perhaps more accurately, not dealing with immigration.

Immigration has a huge impact on Americans’ jobs and wages. Prior to the Second World War, in fact, the primary authority for the enforcement and administration of our nation’s immigration laws was vested in the Labor Department. Immigration law enforcement was moved to the Justice Department when our leaders realized that enemy saboteurs and spies were seeking to gain access to our nation to undermine our national security, not unlike the way it was moved into the Department of Homeland Security in the wake of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

During the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt sought to get the American economy moving by getting Americans back to work. To do so, FDR ramped up the enforcement of America’s immigration laws to protect American workers from competition from foreign workers, who would not only flood the labor pool but would be willing to work for substandard wages under substandard conditions.

Effective immigration law enforcement back then protected American workers from both of these, and could and should still do so today. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many American workers and their families are struggling, not unlike the Americans who suffered during the Great Depression. Yet, rather than enforce our immigration laws the way that FDR did, the Biden administration has acted to permit and, indeed, encourage a human tsunami of aliens into the United States across the U.S.-Mexican border.

Furthermore, Biden has crippled immigration law enforcement within the interior of the United States as well. Coupled with the policies that set up “sanctuary cities” and “sanctuary states,” illegal aliens are being provided with driver’s licenses and being provided with a variety of benefits that not only fail to deter illegal immigration but actually incentivize illegal immigration.

Providing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens who are “undocumented”—meaning that there is no way to determine their true identities—undermines national security and public safety and violate the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. The mayors and governors of the sanctuary jurisdictions blithely explain that illegal aliens need driver’s licenses so that they can drive to work safely! (So much for protecting the jobs and wages of hapless American workers and their struggling families.)

Biden also wants to provide a pathway to U.S. citizenship to aliens who were granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) in the United States. These are aliens, including illegal aliens, whose home countries suffered a disaster while they are in the United States. However, many times the emergency that prompted the issuance of TPS occurred many, many years ago and conditions in their home country may well have improved. Temporary is supposed to mean temporary. Consider the case of aliens who are granted TPS and get jobs as construction workers in the United States. Does it make sense to have illegal alien construction workers build and repair houses and other structures in the United States when their skills are sorely needed in their home countries to rebuild their countries after a catastrophe?

Biden and the Democrats also want a pathway to U.S. citizenship for “Dreamers.” The term “DREAMer” is an acronym for “Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors.” (It is interesting that the term “alien” is acceptable when it is used in an acronym that conjures up the desired imagery, but verboten under all other circumstances.) The original DREAM Act was supposed to provide a pathway to U.S. citizenship for illegal aliens who supposedly arrived in the United States prior to their 16th birthdays. However, aliens would have been able to file for amnesty as DREAMers under this latest immigration bill if they did so prior to their 35th birthdays. Aliens would simply have to claim to have arrived in the U.S. prior to turning 16. With no capacity to conduct field investigations or interviews for a population this large, fraud would permeate this program.

It is noteworthy that Biden said of illegal immigration in his address to Congress, “There’s over 11 million undocumented folks, the vast majority here overstayed visas.” Presumably the president wants Americans to forget the lack of border security and the crisis it is creating. Visa violators do pose a huge problem as well, however, and aliens who violate their visas don’t only overstay their authorized period of admission but almost invariably work illegally.

But as for Biden’s claim about the 11 million “undocumented folks,” in 2018 a Yale study found twice as many undocumented immigrants as previous estimates. The report stated that “using mathematical modeling on a range of demographic and immigration operations data, the researchers estimate there are 22.1 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.”

What is never discussed, however, in addressing the status of undocumented immigrants and any possible pathway to legalization is the fact that all newly legalized aliens would have the immediate and absolute right to have all of their spouses and minor children admitted to the United States as lawful immigrants. If, for the sake of argument, 20 million illegal aliens were legalized, and if on average each such alien would have (or claim to have) just four children each, we could see an influx of 80 million minor immigrants enter the United States.

Imagine the ecological, economic and societal impact this would have. Each person has an environmental impact, and requires water, food, electricity, sewerage, access to healthcare, education, transportation, and other such essential requirements. As these minor immigrants grew older they would join the overflowing labor pool. Imagine the impact this would have on jobs and wages that Biden promises he will create for struggling Americans.

The illegal employment of aliens used to be a traditional matter of concern for Democrats and the American left. In 2020 BuzzFeed News examined Senator Bernie Sanders’s evolving positions on immigration, including his early labor-supported opposition to “immigration reform.”

“I believe we have very serious immigration problems in this country,” Sanders said during a 2007 press event, with AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka behind him.

“I think as you’ve heard today, sanctions against employers who employ illegal immigrants is virtually nonexistent. Our border is very porous. And I think at a time when the middle class is shrinking, the last thing we need is to bring over in a period of years, millions of people into this country who are prepared to lower wages for American workers.”

Clearly, back then, Sanders was concerned about the deleterious impact illegally employed aliens had on Americans. However, he and radical Democrats have since reversed their position on this important issue.

Now, Biden wants to extend citizenship to alien farm workers who “put food on our tables.” The obvious question is “Why?” Aliens who work illegally in the United States violate federal laws that are supposed to protect the lives and jobs of Americans. Their wages are ill-gotten. When individuals acquire money or other assets by violating the law their money and assets are subject to asset forfeiture. Why should this be different for illegal aliens?

The ill-conceived massive alien amnesty of 1986 was an element of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) enacted during the Reagan administration. It was supposed to provide about one million illegal aliens with lawful status. It ultimately provided lawful status to more than 3.5 million aliens, and no one knows how many millions of family members were subsequently admitted under that program. A number of supposed farm workers who received amnesty under IRCA committed fraud and subsequently participated in terror attacks. The official report “9/11 and  Terrorist Travel – Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States” noted:

Once terrorists had entered the United States, their next challenge was to find a way to remain here. Their primary method was immigration fraud. For example, [Ramzi] Yousef and [Ahmed] Ajaj concocted bogus political asylum stories when they arrived in the United States. Mahmoud Abouhalima, involved in both the World Trade Center and landmarks plots, received temporary residence under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers (SAW) program, after falsely claiming that he picked beans in Florida.

The Biden administration’s failures to secure our nation’s borders undermine national security, public safety, public health and the jobs and wages of Americans. Bad as the situation is now, Biden’s further plans all run contrary to the best interests of America and Americans and would encourage still more aliens to head for our borders confident that the Biden administration will take no measures to prevent them from entering the United States and that, once in the United States, they will having nothing to fear from immigration law enforcement authorities under Biden’s immigration policies.

As Congress considers this administration’s immigration and jobs agendas, the one question that President Biden must be asked is how his immigration policies benefit America and Americans. That is the one question that should be asked of all politicians.

Unaccompanied Alien Children Taking Spaces from American Kids in Foster Care

But, at least in some states Republican governors are saying NO!

“I do not want our kids harmed as the result of President Biden’s bad policies.” – Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts

One Republican Governor who apparently doesn’t mind helping Biden out of the border crisis mess is never-Trumper and Jeb Bush pal Republican Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland.

Or, does he even know that an organization in our state, which received $55 million in the last 12 months from the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement specifically to care for the UAC kids, is using Maryland’s foster care system to place the mostly teenaged ‘children’ (who have so-far found no relative in America willing to take them) into Maryland homes?

Makes me wonder what Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is doing with $55 million (75% of their federal boodle) that is for the children if they are simply placing them in other taxpayer-funded foster care as this news at CBS suggests.

From CBS Baltimore:

For months now, we’ve seen images of federal facilities packed with thousands of unaccompanied minors at a time when there are a record number of children reaching the southern border, most coming from Central America. The sheer volume of children is overwhelming the federal government’s resources with thousands of children packed into facilities never meant to handle this amount.

[….]But one Baltimore based organization, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, is working to move kids out of those facilities and into the homes of families eager to help.

“Our focus is getting these children out of Customs and Border Protection facilities,” said Krish O’Mara Vignarajah***, CEO of LIRS.

[….]

LIRS pairs kids with foster families across the country, including dozens here in Maryland.

[….]

But in the meantime, Vignarajah says the need is still great as the children continue to arrive at the southern border. “We have seen unprecedented numbers of children coming across the border and so we need more parents than ever before and so if anyone out there is willing to open up their home and hearts, these children could use their care,” she said.

More here.

Other state leaders ARE putting American children first!

From Pew Trusts:

(Just so you know, until a few short weeks about the ‘children’ illegally crossing our borders were referred to as Unaccompanied Alien Children, however a Biden administration edict now directs all media to refer to them as Unaccompanied Migrant Children, or simply Unaccompanied Children! Here Pew does what they are told!)

Republican Governors Block Unaccompanied Migrant Children

FORT WORTH, Texas — The federal foster care system was unprepared to house the record nearly 19,000 unaccompanied children who came to the United States in March, so the Biden administration asked some states to temporarily house them.

Republican governors in Iowa, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wyoming said no.

The governors claim that unaccompanied children would displace those already in state foster care or limit states’ ability to make new placements.

“Nebraska is declining their request because we are reserving our resources for serving our kids,” Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts said in an April 13 news release. “I do not want our kids harmed as the result of President Biden’s bad policies.”

Who is paying?

But federal officials note that care providers for unaccompanied children are paid via federal grants and operate separately from state child welfare systems.

Is LIRS paying the families directly out of their federal payola?  If so, they need to explain it!  And, explain who is monitoring the care the illegal alien kids are getting once placed in foster care homes.

Of course as Pew admits there are still costs to state taxpayers:

Caring for unaccompanied children does require some limited state resources, because states license and monitor foster care providers contracted by the Office of Refugee Resettlement, the federal agency in charge of housing unaccompanied minors.

However, there currently are no federally funded foster care providers for unaccompanied minors in any of the five states where Republican governors have expressed concerns, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services records analyzed by Stateline show.

Pew goes on and on consuming many column inches on the subject of bed space and how much, or how little, Trump left us with when the Dems stole the 2020 election.

Contractor middlemen….

Pew reports something we already knew (at least for LIRS and the USCCB).

Foster care providers who care for unaccompanied children include the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, BCFS Health and Human Services, Upbring, and Urban Strategies.

But, still unclear is how does this contract system work? And, why are middlemen even necessary?  Couldn’t the feds just send money directly to state agencies willing to participate?

I wondered where Endeavors is in all of this? That is another give-or-take $500 million for housing the ‘children.’

There is much more at Pew.

I guess we can conclude that our tax dollars (to care for the illegal alien kids) go through a bunch of contractor middlemen masquerading as non-profits (skimming off generous salaries and office overhead) as they go about looking for states willing to put unaccompanied alien children into their state’s foster care system thereby displacing needy American kids.

As I have been saying all along, federal refugee contractors put Americans Last!

Is that what your governor is doing as well?

*** I just had a look at a recent IRS Form 990 for LIRS, and Vignarajah is pulling down an annual salary and benefits package of a quarter of a million (apparently a pay cut from the previous CEO who left under a cloud).

Since LIRS is about 87% federally funded, they are a fake non-profit.  LOL! You can be assured that this ‘religious’ federal contractor is not passing the plate on Sundays to pay for their ‘charitable’ work.

See this post I wrote a year ago at RRW about Krish and her hubby, the Washington DC Leftie power couple, working another angle—we must welcome more migrants of all stripes due to global warming!

And, somehow that is going to help America’s wildlife and our great outdoor spaces—say what?

Profiteers of Biden Administration’s Open Borders Policy — Malfeasance Has Its Rewards.

It has been said that “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

The border crisis endangers national security, public health and public safety, yet for the Biden administration, the border crisis that creates consternation for most Americans, incredibly, is viewed as a success story by Biden and the radicalized Democrat Party.

As you will see shortly, Biden immigration policies are also important to human traffickers, drug smugglers, terrorist groups and American companies that move the money of all of the above and, incredibly, even the “fees” and ransom money paid to the human traffickers by aliens’ family members.

As I noted in my recent article, Biden Amps Up The Immigration Delivery System, the Biden administration’s refusal to declare a border crisis is more than a matter of semantics.

Over the past several decades, globalists in both major political parties have come to see immigration as a delivery system rather than a law enforcement system that is dedicated to protecting America and Americans.

This immigration delivery system delivers a virtually unlimited supply of cheap exploitable workers (and not just the illegal aliens who perform economic bottom rung low-skilled, physically demanding menial jobs, but increasing numbers of highly skilled alien workers who are granted visas to work legally in the United States).  This delivery system also delivers a nearly unlimited number of foreign tourists (hence the continually expanding Visa Waiver Program), a huge number of foreign students including students from adversarial nations such as China, and a virtually unlimited number of clients for immigration law firms.  Indeed, there are a significant number of  immigration lawyers in both political parties.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform was never intended to get the “aliens out of the shadows” but to motivate aliens to head for the waiting rooms of immigration law firms.

To actually get the aliens out of the shadows, our government would need more ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents).  But the hiring of more ICE agents has never been considered by either political party.  Such agents would not only arrest illegal aliens but would likely uncover crooked employers, crooked lawyers and interfere with the immigration delivery system.

These politicians know where “their bread is buttered” and understand that they must act to satisfy the demands of those who write the fat checks.  Simply stated, the term “campaign contribution” is Orwellian Newspeak for the actual appropriate term: “Bribe.”

No administration, however, has had the unmitigated chutzpah and utter contempt for the safety of America and Americans to do what the Biden administration is now doing, making an obvious concerted effort to remove any and all deterrents against illegal immigration and essentially put control of America’s southern border under the de facto control of the drug cartels and human traffickers (often one and the same).

Biden Cripples Immigration Law Enforcement, his Executive Orders handcuff agents – and set law violators free.

In the past, the Border Patrol checked transportation facilities such as bus stations, train stations and airports to locate and arrest illegal aliens who evaded detection by the Border Patrol and were then heading to the interior of the United States.

Under Biden’s policies, however, the overwhelmed Border Patrol is now driving illegal aliens to bus terminals so that they can head for the interior of the United States!

Some of these aliens are not even being given immigration court dates because, as it now stands, the system is so overloaded that hearings for these aliens won’t be possible for years.

The failure to deter illegal immigration has encouraged a human tsunami of foreign nationals, from all over the world, including countries that sponsor terrorism, to head for the United States.

This has created a huge opportunity for the human traffickers and gangs to make unprecedented profits as more aliens seek their “services.”

On April 20, 2021 Vice reported, US Companies Are Helping Mexican Cartels Get Rich Kidnapping Migrants, noting that the  wave of migration at the border is a boon for kidnappers, human smugglers, and the American businesses that handle their money.

Here is an important excerpt from the Vice report:

VICE World News reviewed 40 ransom payments made through money transfers in eight different kidnapping cases from 2014 through January of this year. Virtually all of the money flowed through U.S. companies, mostly through Western Union and MoneyGram but also Walmart and lesser-known companies like Ria. By our rough estimate, criminal organizations in Mexico have made around $800 million on migrant kidnappings alone over the past decade, and money-transfer companies received a cut on nearly every transaction through fees and exchange rates. American corporations are profiting from kidnappings.

Bad as this is, let us remember that those who engage in human trafficking and drug smuggling are violent criminals, many of whom  are working in conjunction with terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based terror organization that is under the control of Iran.  Human trafficking and drug smuggling not only provide huge financial rewards for these criminal and terrorist organizations but provide terror organizations with the ability to move sleeper agents into the United States.

Consider some experts from my 2019 article, Jihad At The Border:

On April 30, 2019 the Justice Department issued a press release, Jordanian National Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy to Bring Aliens into the United States, which noted that in 2017 the smuggler smuggled aliens from Yemen, a Special Interest Country” into the United States without inspection from Monterrey, Mexico to Piedras Negras in Texas.

As I reported in a previous article, on January 29, 2019 the Senate Intelligence Committee conducted a hearing on Worldwide Threats that was predicated the “World-Wide Threat Assessment,” that was issued by Daniel Coats, the Director of the Office of National Intelligence, which oversees the U.S. intelligence community.  Additional witness included the heads of the FBI, CIA and other agencies.

The threat assessment warned about the dangers posed by transnational gangs such as MS-13 and went on to report:

TRANSNATIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME

Global transnational criminal organizations and networks will threaten US interests and allies by trafficking drugs, exerting malign influence in weak states, threatening critical infrastructure, orchestrating human trafficking, and undermining legitimate economic activity.

Drug Trafficking

The foreign drug threat will pose continued risks to US public health and safety and will present a range of threats to US national security interests in the coming year. Violent Mexican traffickers, such as members of the Sinaloa Cartel and New Generation Jalisco Cartel, remain key to the movement of illicit drugs to the United States, including heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cannabis from Mexico, as well as cocaine from Colombia. Chinese synthetic drug suppliers dominate US-bound movements of so- called designer drugs, including synthetic marijuana, and probably ship the majority of US fentanyl, when adjusted for purity.

On April 17, 2018 the House Committee on Homeland Security, Counterterrorism and Intelligence Subcommittee, conducted a hearing on the topic, “State Sponsors Of Terrorism: An Examination Of Irans Global Terrorism Network.”

The prepared testimony of one of the witnesses, Dr. Emanuele Ottolenghi of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, included this alarming excerpt:

In recent years, Hezbollahs Latin American networks have also increasingly cooperated with violent drug cartels and criminal syndicates, often with the assistance of local corrupt political elites….

This toxic crime-terror nexus is fueling both the rising threat of global jihadism and the collapse of law and order across Latin America that is helping drive drugs and people northward into the United States. It is sustaining Hezbollahs growing financial needs. It is helping Iran and Hezbollah consolidate a local constituency in multiple countries across Latin America. It is thus facilitating their efforts to build safe havens for terrorists and a continent-wide terror infrastructure that they could use to strike U.S. targets.

Biden and his cohorts have discovered that indeed, “Crime does pay” and the cost is not only measured in money but in human suffering and even the loss of human lives.

House Votes to Ban ‘Muslim Ban,’ Even Though There Never Was One in the First Place

Trump’s “Muslim Ban” was so notorious that Old Joe Biden’s handlers directed him to repeal it by executive order on the first day of his presidency. And that was that, right? Wrong. House Democrats have now moved to make sure this manifestation of racism, white supremacy, and all that is evil never recurs.

The “Muslim Ban” was one of the most offensive aspects of the Trump administration, as far as leftists and Hamas-linked Islamic advocacy groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) were concerned, as it was supposedly a racist, “Islamophobic” endeavor to keep Muslims out of the United States. Hijabbed “feminist” Linda Sarsour, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) and their ilk railed against it repeatedly, and the Democrats mounted numerous and ultimately unsuccessful court challenges against it. So it’s understandable that the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives has now acted to bar this particular door forever.

Al Jazeera, no doubt rubbing its hands in glee, reported Wednesday that “the US House of Representatives has passed a bill that would limit the ability of any United States president to impose a travel ban on the basis of religion, a move that was welcomed by civil rights advocates as ‘a major step forward.’”

The late Osama bin Laden’s favorite news outlet explained that “the legislation, known informally as the NO BAN Act, comes in response to former President Donald Trump’s controversial ‘Muslim ban’ that barred travel to the US from several Muslim-majority countries. The bill, which must also pass in the US Senate to become law, was approved by a 218-208 vote in the House on Wednesday.”

Madihha Ahussain, a lawyer for Muslim Advocates, which has sued Facebook to force it to remove all material critical of Islam, stated: “The Muslim ban tore families apart, put lives on hold for years and labeled Muslims, Africans and other targeted people as threatening outsiders. We must ensure that no president can enact discriminatory bans like this ever again and with the passage of the NO BAN Act in the House, we are taking a major step forward to ensuring that they won’t.”

Great, but there’s just one catch: the “Muslim Ban” did not actually “impose a travel ban on the basis of religion” at all. The Democrats have just voted to ban something that was never in effect in the first place. Outside of hysterical leftist rhetoric, there never was any “Muslim Ban” at all. There was actually a ban on travel from countries that would not or could not provide adequate information about those wishing to enter the country. Among the countries named in various iterations of Trump’s travel ban were Chad, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, North Korea, Myanmar, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Venezuela, and Yemen.

Now, imagine a racist, “Islamophobic” president wanting to bar Muslims from entering the United States and doing so by banning entry from North Korea, Myanmar, and Venezuela, while doing nothing to impede entry from Indonesia (the world’s largest Muslim country by population), Pakistan (the world’s second-largest Muslim country), or India (home of the third-largest Muslim population in the world). If Trump’s intention had really been to ban Muslims, he did a remarkably poor job of it.

What Trump was really doing, quite obviously, was moving to ensure that the United States had adequate information about people entering the country. This wouldn’t completely preclude criminals and terrorists from entering, but it would certainly stop some of them. Immigration offers the choice of admitting people among whom are some who are harmful, so as to avoid being called “racist,” or to stop admitting even though some of them are harmless, and endure the “racism” charge for the safety of the American people (of all races). Every modern president besides Trump has decided to choose not being racist over ensuring the safety of the American people. Trump was the only one who chose instead to protect Americans. So obviously he had to go.

Ending Trump’s travel bans will mean that people about whom nothing is known will be able to enter the country freely, often from jihadi hotspots and other areas where criminal activity is rife. What could possibly go wrong? Sit back and watch, and hope you’re not among those who will be victimized.

But while all this is happening, the question remains: why have the Democrats prohibited something that never happened in the first place? To reinforce their narrative that it did, and to make future presidents (if we have any American ones who might try to protect Americans the way Trump did) hesitate to act in the same way. Protecting Americans is, you know, “racist.”

Biden’s Curious Choice to Lead Customs and Border Protection

As Tucson Police Chief, Chris Magnus refused to assist Border Patrol.

The disaster on the U.S./Mexican border has catapulted the issue of border security to new levels of importance. Therefore, the Biden administration’s pick for the Director of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), an always important position, has taken on additional significance.

On April 12, 2021 the Washington Post reported:  Biden picks Tucson police chief to run U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

That article began with this excerpt:

President Biden is preparing to nominate Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus to be commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, selecting a critic of the Trump administration’s immigration policies to run the country’s largest federal law enforcement agency as it contends with the biggest increase in migrants arriving at the southwest border in two decades.

Magnus has led the Tucson police department since 2016 and has prominently associated himself with the movement favored by the progressive wing of the Democratic Party that emphasizes a less-aggressive, community-based policing model.

Magnus opposed efforts to make Tucson a “sanctuary city,” but he generally eschewed cooperation with federal immigration authorities, placing him at odds with the Border Patrol union — and many of the agents and officials who will potentially be under his command.

Here is another important excerpt from the Washington Post article:

Relations between Magnus and the Border Patrol have been frosty, according to three current and former CBP officials, particularly following an incident in 2017 when the Tucson police declined to assist the Border Patrol after a suspect escaped from custody.

The Border Patrol’s union officials called him “an ultraliberal social engineer who was given a badge and a gun by the City of Tucson,” in a 2018 Facebook post.

Magnus is a member of the Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force, which is a partner to the National Immigration Forum and says on its website that local police should not be involved in federal immigration enforcement.

It is beyond outrageous that Biden would pick a leader for CBP who opposes cooperation between local law enforcement and immigration law enforcement. This alone should disqualify him from becoming the director of CBP.

It is more than a bit ironic that on April 21, 2021, Immigration and Customs Enforcement posted a news release, “ICE officers arrest citizen of the Czech Republic in Illinois,” which began with the following statement:

CHICAGO — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers arrested a Czech Republic national convicted of attempted homicide and other crimes outside his residence in Lyons, Illinois April 19.

Tomas Ruckschlos, 34, was released into the community after serving time in prison for his crimes, without notification to ICE.

It is incredible that while ICE noted, with obvious frustration, the lack of cooperation by local police in Chicago that enabled an alien sought by ICE to be released into the community without making appropriate notification to ICE that Mr. Biden now seeks to have Chris Magnus lead CBP considering that he had similarly refused to cooperate with immigration law enforcement in the past.

The concept of various law enforcement agencies working cooperatively together has been a standard means of enabling various law enforcement agencies on all levels, to achieve common goals to enhance public safety and national security.

Such cooperation creates synergy, which is defined as:

The interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.

For decades various law enforcement agencies on the local, state and federal level have created a variety of task forces to achieve vital common, shared goals.

Consider the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) that includes a wide variety of law enforcement agencies to combat both international and domestic terrorism and operates under the aegis of the FBI includes ICE agents along with local and state police. In point of fact, the number of ICE agents who are assigned to this important task force is second only the FBI.

Virtually all international terrorists violate multiple laws comprehended within the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The Organized Crime, Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) is another important multi-agency task force that, not unlike the JTTF includes law enforcement officers from various local, state and federal agencies including ICE.

Smuggling organizations frequently smuggle aliens as well as narcotics into the United States. Furthermore, many of the leaders of drug trafficking organizations are aliens who also violate numerous statutes found in the Immigration and Nationality Act.

I was promoted to the position of INS Senior Special Agent and assigned to OCDETF for the final ten years of my 30-year career with the former INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service), so I speak from professional personal experience.

For the four years immediately preceding my promotion and assignment to the OCDETF I was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Unified Intelligence Division (UID) in New York City, where I worked with a number of local and state police agencies as well as with other federal agencies and even law enforcement agencies of other countries.

In both of those assignments my unique authority as an INS agent was frequently a factor in our efforts to identify co-conspirators, when appropriate, to seek to bring criminal charges concerning violations of the Immigration and Nationality Act, against those who engaged in drug trafficking and related crimes that frequently included human trafficking and various crimes of violence that are most often perpetrated within the various ethnic immigrant communities, with the immigrants most often suffering the most violence at the hands of these thugs.

In addition to assisting with narcotics investigations as a law enforcement agent, I was specifically able to contribute to major investigations and prosecutions by using my unique authority, as an INS agent, to cultivate confidential informants and cooperating witnesses in various ethnic immigrant communities in furtherance of our investigations of major international drug trafficking organizations.

Contrary to the claims that having immigration law enforcement personnel cooperating with local and state police would undermine community policing in ethnic immigrant communities, in my personal experience, quite the opposite was true.

Indeed, Mr. Magnus has made such fatuous claims in the past to justify his opposition to having his police department cooperate with immigration law enforcement agencies.

As an INS agent I was able to arrange for cooperating illegal aliens to remain in the United States if they assisted with law enforcement officers to identify criminals as well as criminal organizations. Various visas are now available for such cooperating aliens that, may even facilitated the admission of they family members from foreign countries if their assistance was deemed to be particularly instrumental.

My colleagues in other agencies such as the FBI, DEA and ATF frequently told me that my authority as an INS agent was frequently more effective in gaining the trust and cooperation of members of ethnic immigrant communities than was their ability to provide huge financial rewards for cooperating witnesses and informants.

In many cases, our investigations depended on the ability to cultivate such informants and cooperating witnesses.

Furthermore, criminal aliens and members of transnational criminal organizations generally live and operate within the ethnic immigrant communities, thereby posing a direct and immediate threat to the safety and wellbeing of these immigrants no matter where they originally came from.

Strong cooperation between all law enforcement agencies, especially ICE and CBP and local and state police can help to rid these communities of these violent and sociopathic predators, thereby making the lives of those in these various ethnic immigrant communities safer.

The goal of true “Community Policing” must be to safeguard the safety of the residents of the community and restore faith in our system of justice.

This is why there is a clear nexus between Interior Enforcement And The Border Crisis.

Additionally, there are a number of immigration-related criminal charges that can bring pressure to bear against foreign criminals and members of transnational gangs and international criminal and terrorist organizations.

Under 8 U.S. Code § 1326 – Reentry of removed aliens, criminal aliens who are deported and then illegally reenter the United States face up to 20 years in prison. I worked with then-U.S. Senator Al D’Amato to create this enhancement for criminal aliens back in the early 1980’s.

Alien smugglers / human traffickers, whether they are United States citizens or aliens, may be prosecuted for violation of 8 U.S. Code § 1324 – Bringing in and harboring certain aliens.

Under the provisions of 18 U.S. Code § 922(g)(5) any alien illegally present in the United States who is found to be in possession of a firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce faces a maximum of 10 years imprisonment upon conviction for this crime.

Under the provisions of 18 U.S. Code § 1546 – Fraud and misuse of visas, permits, and other documents an alien who violates the provisions of this statute faces up to 20 years in prison if the violations were involved in drug trafficking and up to 25 years on prison if such crimes were related to international terrorism.

These laws were enacted to protect national security and public safety, yet Mr. Biden and his administration refuse to do what is necessary to live up to their oaths of office and protect America and Americans.

The next leader of CBP must fully embrace the notion of cooperation between all law enforcement agencies including CBP and ICE with local law enforcement and not seek to obstruct it.

NEW YORK CITY: Muslim migrant gets life in prison for jihad bombing on subway in 2017

“Akayed Ullah, 31, of Brooklyn, New York, and a lawful permanent resident of Bangladesh…”

Why was he here at all? Why did vetting procedures, if any, fail? What is being done to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Why, nothing, of course. Just the opposite.

Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for ISIS-inspired Bombing in New York City Subway Station in 2017

Department of Justice, April 22, 2021:

WASHINGTON – A New York man was sentenced today to life in prison for detonating a bomb in a New York City subway station. He admitted that he conducted the terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Akayed Ullah, 31, of Brooklyn, New York, and a lawful permanent resident of Bangladesh, was convicted by a federal jury of offenses related to the detonation and attempted detonation of a bomb in a subway station near the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City on Dec. 11, 2017. According to court documents, on Dec. 11, 2017, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Ullah detonated a pipe bomb strapped to his chest in a subway station near the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan. Shortly after the blast, first responders located Ullah lying on the ground in the station where he had detonated the improvised explosive device, and he was taken into custody. Surveillance footage captured Ullah walking through the station immediately prior to the explosion and then detonating the bomb.

“Ullah constructed a pipe bomb and detonated it in a mass transit hub in the heart of New York City to harm and terrorize as many people as possible – and he admitted that he did it on behalf of ISIS,” said Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers for the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “This case reminds us that the threat of ISIS-inspired terrorism remains real. This sentence holds Ullah accountable, as he will spend the rest of his life in federal prison for his crimes. I want to thank all of the agents, analysts, and prosecutors whose outstanding work made this result possible.”

“Akayed Ullah, previously convicted in a New York federal court of carrying out a lone-wolf bombing attack on behalf of ISIS at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, a bustling transit artery in New York City, admittedly intended to murder as many innocent Americans as possible,” said U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss for the Southern District of New York. “Ullah’s motive was clear and unambiguous: a deeply held ideological hatred for America. Ironically, Ullah’s actions resulted only in reaffirming the greatness of America by displaying the fairness and impartiality for which our justice system stands. Ullah received a speedy, fair, public trial, and was convicted by a jury of his peers. Akayed Ullah’s message of hatred clearly backfired; his just sentence of life in prison only exemplifies that cowardly acts of terrorism will be met with law enforcement’s unwavering resolve to protect our core values of freedom and democracy.”

“The defendant sought to attack innocent Americans who were going about their daily lives,” said Acting Assistant Director Patrick Reddan for Counterterrorism at the FBI. “He will now spend the rest of his life in prison, where he will not be in a position to attempt another attack. While the terrorism threat continues to evolve in this country, groups like ISIS remain committed to attacking America, and the FBI will continue to work with our JTTF partners across the country in our commitment to track down and disrupt terrorists who seek to harm our homeland.”

According to court documents and the evidence presented at trial, Ullah began radicalizing in approximately 2014. Ullah disagreed with U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and began seeking out online materials promoting radical Islamic terrorist ideology. In particular, Ullah was inspired by ISIS propaganda, including a video in which ISIS instructed supporters to carry out attacks in their homelands if they were unable to travel overseas to join ISIS. Ullah began researching how to build a bomb about a year prior to his attack. He built his pipe bomb in the weeks leading up to the attack at his Brooklyn apartment.

Following the attack on Dec. 11, 2017, law enforcement located remnants of the pipe bomb on Ullah’s person and strewn across the attack site in the subway station. Law enforcement found, among other things: (i) a nine-volt battery inside Ullah’s pants pocket, which he used as the power source for triggering the bomb; (ii) wires connected to the battery and running underneath Ullah’s jacket; (iii) plastic zip ties underneath Ullah’s jacket, which he used to strap the bomb to his body; (iv) several fragments of a metal pipe, which Ullah had filled with an explosive substance that he made using sugar and match heads; (v) fragments of Christmas tree lightbulbs attached to wires, which Ullah used to ignite the explosion; and (vi) numerous metal screws. Ullah filled his pipe bomb with dozens of metal screws to function as shrapnel, for the purpose of causing maximum damage.

On the morning of the attack, shortly before detonating his bomb, Ullah posted a statement on Facebook referring to the then-President of the United States, stating: “Trump you failed to protect your nation.” Ullah also posted an ISIS slogan so that ISIS would know that he had carried out the attack on behalf of the foreign terrorist organization.

After Ullah was taken into custody following the attack, he waived his Miranda rights and spoke to law enforcement. Ullah was inspired by ISIS to carry out the Dec. 11 attack, and stated, among other things, “I did it for the Islamic State.” He also said that he chose a busy weekday morning for the attack in order to “terrorize as many people as possible.” One commuter who was inside the station when Ullah detonated the pipe bomb suffered a shrapnel wound to his leg, and two other victims partly lost their hearing as a result of the blast. Ullah’s attack caused the Port Authority subway station and bus terminal to shut down temporarily, disrupting the lives of commuters across the New York City area.

After the attack, law enforcement searched Ullah’s apartment pursuant to a search warrant. Agents recovered, among other things, Ullah’s passport, which contained the handwritten statement, “O AMERICA, DIE IN YOUR RAGE.” Less than two weeks before carrying out the attack, Ullah had watched and drawn inspiration from a particular ISIS propaganda video that proclaimed, “die in your rage, America,” with an image of the U.S. Capitol in the background.

Later in December 2017, while in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on the charges in this case, Ullah began chanting “more is coming” at a correctional officer, and then told the officer: “You started this war, we will finish it. More is coming, you’ll see.”…
