Fidel Castro Acolyte Karen Bass Is No Stranger To Orchestrating Organized Chaos

Bass believes that the use of taxpayer dollars to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles to protect the city and its citizens, as well as federal law enforcement, is ‘shameful’ and ‘despicable’

With riots and looting destroying Los Angeles (again), it is important to remember that the city’s mayor, Karen Bass, reportedly led a radical Cuban communist cell that was part of a group responsible for radicalizing youth and organizing chaos.

In the 1970s, when Bass was in her 20s, she led the Southern California cell of Cuban Venceremos Brigade — a Fidel Castro regime-linked organization and alleged terror group started to subvert the United States and proliferate communism. After working as a “brigadista,” Bass climb the ranks to become an “organizer,” visiting Cuba every six months.

The rioting, looting, destruction, firebombing, assaults on federal officers, waving the Mexican flag, burning the American flag, and the like in her city — deemed by Democrats and their friends in the corporate media as “peaceful” — coupled with the failure of state and local law enforcement to protect the the citizens of Los Angeles is far less surprising when put in the context of Bass’s reported violent revolutionary sympathies.

She actually let the cat out of the bag on CNN recently, admitting that Los Angeles has a “rapid response network” of agitators, adding, “if they see ICE, they go out and they protest.”

And that is exactly what happened. But, whether the rioters knew it or not, the instigating factor was not even deportations, as they claim, but rather ICE conducting law enforcement operations against drug traffickers, child abusers, robbers, human traffickers, assaulters, and those with history of domestic violence, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Even if they were just deportation raids, that would still be a completely legitimate use of federal resources, particularly after, as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth put it, “21 million illegals have crossed our border under the previous administration.” But Bass’s response to the law enforcement operations seems more intent on running an agitation psy-op than simply wanting millions of illegals to stay in her city.

“I am deeply angered by what has taken place. These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city,” Bass said in a statement. “My Office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not stand for this.”

DHS blamed Bass and other Democrats’ rhetoric for violence against ICE agents.

“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu of Boston, Tim Walz, and Mayor Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said. “From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is beyond the pale. This violence against ICE must end.”

In a news conference, Bass essentially threatened more violence unless federal law enforcement stops in the city, as White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said, adding, “The Mayor of LA is effectively saying the mob violence is caused by the mere presence of ICE in the city and the violence against ICE will not stop unless federal law enforcement is withdrawn from the city. This is the definition of insurrection. LA and CA leadership demand the right to illegally import unlimited foreigners into America, to control America’s entire immigration policy by fiat — and if they are not so permitted they will allow mobs to target ICE with impunity.”

But organized violence appears to be a concept Bass is already familiar with.

Despite denying that she was in a leadership role in her communist organization, an October 1975 issue of the Daily World, a communist newspaper, described her as the “leader of the Venceremos Brigade in southern California.”

Part of the Brigade’s mission was to “develop solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and the peoples of the Third World,” “promote and develop the political formation of the progressive forces in the US,” and “educate the US movement to an anti-imperialist consciousness.”

The Brigade targeted the most radical members of the American left and organized trips to Cuba for almost 50 years. Julie Nichamin, an original organizer of the Brigade, said that the trips would encourage participants to reflect on whether they were “really making a contribution toward destroying Amerikan [sic] imperialism and building a revolution in this country.”

On June 15, 2010, the Central Intelligence Agency said of the organization, “In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the WUO, the Venceremos Brigade, and similar ‘New Left’ groups in the United States had extensive contacts with and support from the governments and intelligence services of the Soviet Union, Cuba, North Vietnam, Communist China, and some East European Soviet satellites.”

In 1972, investigator Dwight Crews testified that those entering the Brigade were required to profess they are “Marxist-Leninist,” submit to 14 weeks of “twice-per-week indoctrination sessions,” and fill out a “detailed application” in order to obtain membership.

Bass posted a picture of her first trip to Cuba in 1973 to commemorate her visit with former President Barack Obama in 2016.

The March post preceded Castro’s eventual November 2016 death, for which Bass issued a press release honoring and affectionately referring to the dictator, stating, “As Cuba begins nine days of mourning, I wish to express my condolences to the Cuban people and the family of Fidel Castro. The passing of the Comandante en Jefe is a great loss to the people of Cuba.”

Bass had also admitted to traveling to see Castro speak on multiple occasions and called him “extremely charismatic.”

The “rapid response network” to which Bass referred on CNN is partially run by the far-left American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California, which encourages reporting ICE activity to the local networks within the organization.

One of those local networks is the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), which received tens of millions of dollars from the Biden administration and is an agitator group in Southern Californiaaccording to the New York Post. CHIRLA was behind anti-ICE protests last week, and has seen an increase in funding from the state of California, having received $34 million from the government in 2023, more than doubling the $12 million it received in 2022.

CHIRLA denied having any connection to the current violence in Los Angeles, despite admitting to having “organized a press event” and rally to protest the actions — and the fact that the riots last week were in direct response to ICE arresting violent criminals.“We have not participated, coordinated, or been part of the protests being registered in Los Angeles other than the press conference and rally cited above,” a CHIRLA spokesman told the Post.

As Vice President J.D. Vance put it — undercutting the Gov. Gavin Newsom’s narrative that none of the violence was happening before the federal government became involved — “Newsom and his stooge Karen Bass fomented and encouraged the riots, because their entire political movement exists for one purpose: to promote mass migration into our country. It is their reason for being.”

It is unclear if Bass is using her communist organizing ties to inform the rioters in the city she is supposed to govern, but the rioters themselves do appear to be quite organized and totally inorganic.

The inorganic nature of the riots is displayed even in the details of the shields (which in some cases involve a labor-intense process to make plywood with handles look like cardboard protest signs) that have been seen in the 2020 George Floyd riots and the 2024 pro-Palestine protests.

Organizing groups reportedly hand out protective gear and other equipment to the supposedly organic rioters for them to use during the violence. The protests also appear calculated to put responders to the violence in what is called a “decision dilemma,” where law enforcement is forced to either negotiate and meet demands or react with force.

Blockading, taking over buildings, or putting themselves and others at risk are actions protesters use to evoke a reaction from authorities that make it seem like the rioters are innocent on camera, particularly by positioning sympathetic-seeming rioters in positions to undergo a high-visibility arrest. Such tactics might include drawing attention to the elderly, or bringing a baby to a riot, or platforming persons from certain ethnic groups that might not normally be associated with the movement (e.g., a white person being arrested at a Black Lives Matter riot might make an observer believe this is a widespread movement for justice).

The organized rioters are able to create maximum unrest and damage because they are allegedly so well-funded — potentially by groups like CHIRLA, an organization that was getting grant funding from the Biden administration and the state of California.

Without a sense of irony, Bass believes that the use of taxpayer dollars to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles to protect the city and its citizens, as well as federal law enforcement executing immigration law, is “shameful” and “despicable.”

Maybe that’s because she’s asking herself if she is “really making a contribution toward destroying Amerikan [sic] imperialism and building a revolution in this country.”

Chinese Cash and Influence Continue to Shape Arizona Politics

By Joe Schaeffer

Written by Joe Schaeffer

The sellout of a US state has been decades in the making

Arizona Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs garnered national headlines on June 2 when she vetoed a bill passed by the state legislature that would have barred China’s communist government from owning land near military installations in the Grand Canyon State.

On the surface, it is a shocking move. Attempts on the state and local level to thwart the growth of China’s already sizable footprint within the US interior have flourished in recent years. And the proposed bill in Arizona clearly identified the stark national security implications involved.

“The actual Chinese government, our enemy, was trying to lease buildings near the (Luke Air Force) base,” located about 15 miles outside of Phoenix, bill sponsor Republican Sen. Janae Shamp said during a floor debate on the legislation in February. But in her veto letter to the state senate, Hobbs declared that the bill “lacks clear implementation criteria and opens the door to arbitrary enforcement.”

Those last two words are meant to imply discrimination. Once again, a sitting Democratic governor is leaning on progressive tropes about racism and social injustice to stand in the way of legislation meant to address an issue of obvious pressing concern to the national interest. But that isn’t the half of it.

From China’s Balloon Man to Arizona Senator?

For most of the 21st century, prominent Arizona political figures have been openly cozying up to communist China as that nation, widely considered to be the number one geopolitical foe of the United States today, meticulously carved out a powerful economic standing within the state’s borders. This effort, all done in the name of promoting “business” and “trade,” has been the handiwork of both Democrats and Republicans.

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) had close business ties with China to such a sensitive national security degree that it would be humorous if the stakes weren’t so high. Remember the Chinese spy balloon saga of 2023? Kelly co-founded a high-altitude, near-space exploration venture called World View Enterprises that utilized balloons “for launching lower-altitude ‘stratollites’ for commercial and governmental mapping and surveillance,” The Arizona Republic reported last August. Sound familiar? The company was glued to the hip with China.

“World View’s long-time investors include Tencent Holdings, a Chinese tech company that operates the WeChat messaging and social media service that is among the world’s largest. And like other tech companies in China, it has close working ties to the ruling Communist Party in Beijing,” The Republic detailed.

“Tencent has sought to expand its relations with American tech firms, a move that has raised national security concerns that the Chinese government could be surreptitiously gathering information using American technology,” the paper noted. Kelly separated himself from World View only when he decided to run for his current Senate seat in 2019…..

The President at Fort Bragg: “This Anarchy Will Not Stand”

By The Geller Report

WATCH: President Donald Trump speaks to soldiers at Fort Bragg, NC

That’s my President.

President Trump was at the home of Airborne and Special Operations forces for an early start to commemorations of the 250-year anniversary of the U.S. Army: Trump recognized service members and veterans in the crowd who he said are descendants of famous American servicemen, including relatives of Francis Scott Key, who wrote the poem that became the national anthem, and Joseph Warren, who fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill. Amid praise for the troops, he also addressed the current state of political unrest in the country. As protests over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s presence in Los Angeles have consumed the city, Trump sent National Guard troops and Marines to the West Coast. “This anarchy will not stand,” he said, likening the domestic dispute to a foreign invasion — one he promised to stamp out (News & Observer).

59 percent to 39 percent in Insider Advantage poll: What is your opinion of President Trump’s decision in recent days to deploy National Guard and federal military in downtown Los Angeles? • Approve: 59% • Disapprove: 39% • Undecided: 2% (Insider Advantage).

The broader context for the nation, of course, was the violence in southern California: President Trump derided protesters demonstrating over immigration enforcement in California, calling them animals and professional agitators, as he stood in front of uniformed Army soldiers, who at times cheered and applauded during the speech…. “What you’re witnessing in California is a full-blown assault on peace, on public order and on national sovereignty carried out by rioters bearing foreign flags with the aim of continuing a foreign invasion of our country,” Trump said at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. “We’re not going to let that happen…. We will not allow federal agents to be attacked and will not allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by a foreign enemy. That’s what they are,” Trump said. He added of the protesters: “These guys are professionals. These are not amateurs” (Wall Street Journal).

Trump Response to L.A. Riots Applies Lessons Learned in 2020 thumbnail

Trump Response to L.A. Riots Applies Lessons Learned in 2020

By Family Research Council

The Los Angeles riots have driven California progressives back to a familiar strategy: blame Trump. For instance, after days of dallying, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) on Tuesday finally declared an overnight curfew in Downtown Los Angeles “to stop bad actors who are taking advantage of the President’s chaotic escalation.” But Trump has “been here before,” and he knows how events play out.

“You have to remember, I’ve been here before,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “I went right by every rule, and I waited for governors to say, ‘Send in the National Guard.’ They wouldn’t do it, and they just wouldn’t do it. It kept going on and on [and] got worse and worse.”

Trump was recalling the fiery protests in the summer of 2020, for which a mainstream media outlet devised the anti-description, “mostly peaceful.” After seven days of rioting in Minneapolis, Trump continued, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) “wouldn’t call the National Guard, and we ultimately just sent in the National Guard. We stopped it, but that was after seven days.”

“And I said to myself, ‘If that stuff happens again, we’ve got to make faster decisions because they don’t want to do it,’” Trump added. “If we didn’t send in the National Guard quickly, right now, Los Angeles would be burning to the ground.”

Some politicians disagree — or at least claim to. “You all don’t think that somehow, because they called out the National Guard, there was violence?” queried Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.). “There was no violence. I was on the street. I know.” The curfew imposed by Mayor Bass would beg to differ.

But the mainstream media is all too happy to back up the argument that Trump’s handling of the crisis has been heavy-handed. “Trump is acting like an authoritarian,” complained CNN. “This Is What Autocracy Looks Like” agreed The New York Times. “Sending the National Guard into LA is the administration’s clearest step yet towards authoritarianism,” echoed the Financial Times.

When the left-biased media calls a Republican president’s actions “authoritarianism,” it says less about the action itself than about the commentators’ dislike of authority wielded by their political opponents.

“What’s happened so far is that Trump has acted within the law … to use the National Guard (and now a contingent of Marines) to protect federal personnel and property in L.A.,” argued Rich Lowry. “Most people don’t feel threatened or provoked by guys in camo standing impassively in front of a federal building.”

At least at first glance, a federal judge agrees. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer, a judge on senior status in the Northern District of California, denied Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) emergency request for a temporary restraining order to prevent Trump from federalizing the California National Guard. Judge Breyer is a former Watergate prosecutor and the brother of retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, one of the court’s liberals.

Breyer scheduled a hearing on the motion for Thursday. He gave the federal government until 2 p.m. EST on Wednesday to file arguments, then California has until 9 a.m. on Thursday to respond.

The more time that passes, the more evidence suggests that Trump was right to categorize the L.A. riots as a re-run of 2020. Despite the intervening Biden administration, the players and politics remain fundamentally identical, except that Trump enjoys a stronger position. Even the cause — opposition to law enforcement — is nearly the same, although that is certainly no requirement to draw out leftist activists. Already, anti-ICE protests have spread across the country, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta. NBC News “counted at least 25 rallies and demonstrations coast to coast” on Monday and Tuesday.

Trump provided further explanation for his actions while speaking at Fort Bragg, days before the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The point of defending American property in American streets is the same as defending it abroad, he said. “Generations of Army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our country be destroyed by invasion and third-world lawlessness here at home — like is happening in California,” Trump urged. “As commander-in-chief, I will not let that happen.”

President Trump Got This One Right

By Bruce Bialosky

Written by Bruce Bialosky

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

It is fair to say most columnists write on a broad array of subjects. Some have gained knowledge over many years of being involved in a particular issue. Some issues become the issue of the day, and you must immerse yourself in sifting through the news to discern the best version of the facts to provide for your readers. Then there are issues where the writer possesses in-depth knowledge and thus can speak with authority. President Trump nailed the travel ban and I can speak from authority.

The Beautiful Wife (BW) and I have been to 92 countries together and all seven continents. BW keeps a detailed list of the countries we have been to and the year(s) we were there. The list also contains where we have not been but want to go, and which ones we have firm plans to see. I am always scouring the list of the other 102 countries to which we may wish to travel. For example, our recent trip to South America provided us ample evidence from local sources we should add Bolivia to our list.

People often ask me two questions. Where do you want to return to and where will you not go? I have in recent years developed a standard answer to the second question – any place where I could potentially get kidnapped.

The list evolves over time. Times change. I tell people I regret not going to Venezuela before Hugo Chavez took over in 1999 when it had South America’s #1 economy. Over the next 14 years he destroyed the country and then handed it to Nicolás Maduro who drove the country further into the ground. We have been all over South America but would not set foot in that country. President Trump was correct to put in the travel ban and exclude anyone from that country coming here. Venezuela is on the partial ban list.

Trump did not do this willy-nilly. He worked with his national security team. As he stated in the announcement, “I considered foreign policy, national security, and counterterrorism goals. And I further considered various factors, including each country’s screening and vetting capabilities, information sharing policies, and country-specific risk factors — including whether each country has a significant terrorist presence within its territory, its visa-overstay rate, and its cooperation with accepting back its removable nationals.”  These countries are train wrecks and there is no way to vet the people coming to our country to protect our citizens.

The Dirty Dozen he fully banned are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. These countries are all a mess, and we would not get near any of them. Sometimes we read of an American being kidnapped in one of these countries and I ask BW why in God’s name was an American there in the first place.

In 2021, we were in Africa on safari. We were in Uganda trekking for gorilla sightings. Rwanda is the other well-known destination to see gorillas, and we are going there next year. While driving to our destination in Uganda, our guide turned to us and pointed to our right.  He said,” That right there is The Congo.  You do not want to go there.” I guess some of his ill-informed passengers at times venture over across that border. That was not in the cards for us.

Trump also partially restricted entry from seven other countries and I can tell you I am not sure how these seven are treated differently, but here they are: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Laos is on our list to go to, but none of the rest are currently.

There are others to be considered. Jay Nordlinger, a legit journalist, wrote a book I read called Children of Monsters: An Inquiry into the Sons and Daughters of Dictators. Quite a novel look at history. The last eight or so dictators were from modern Africa. It led me to explore the map of Africa and discovering there are loads of questionable countries I would not get near for our safety. These include Angola, Mali, Niger, Guinea, Nigeria, Chad, and Burkina Faso. There may be a few more, and maybe the Trump team had reasons not to include these countries on their list. We are not going to any of them and neither should you.

There are complainers about this new Trump policy. First, there are some who complain about anything Trump does in a knee-jerk manner. If Trump does it, it must be wrong. Second, they will talk of the fine people they know from these countries. That is not the basis on which a policy is made. There are wonderful people from every country on the planet, and I am sure some are here in the United States. You must be able to vet people coming to your country and keep track of them while they are here. We have been negligent in that regard. It is high time we started to do this with all the nutcases running around the world. This policy will not eliminate all those people, so we need to do other enforcement procedures to protect our citizens. And this does not mean bad people will not get into our country from countries not on the list.

The good news is things are always changing. Next year we are going to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. These are countries where we would not have travelled ten years ago. Now we are excited about going to these places. Perhaps matters will change in the banned countries and we will be able to travel there, and we will be able to accept their citizens as guests in our country.

In the meantime, 170 other countries in the world are considered safe to visit. And I can tell you there are people in all those countries who want to come to America. You should consider visiting their countries. Happy travels.

How Well-Funded, Organized Leftists Helped Jumpstart LA Riots

By Hudson Crozier

Written by Hudson Crozier

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Well-funded activists and a coordinated social media campaign helped spark the pro-illegal migrant protests on Friday that descended into days of rioting in Los Angeles.

Left-wing groups posted calls to action with a location to gather on Friday in unison after the arrest of a local Service Employees International Union (SEIU) leader on Friday. The subsequent uprising echoed scenes of the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, which brought activists such as professional “legal observers” into the streets during a wave of protests that led to fires, looting, vandalism and deaths across the country as the organization’s leaders enriched themselves.

Protests continued in a coordinated fashion through Monday, with some unidentified individuals driving up to others in trucks to distribute protective face shields resembling gas masks, according to a Fox 11 reporter who said he witnessed the trend. Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported on Sunday that protesters were being provided with ear plugs, gas masks and water bottles that they then hurled at police officers.

“The FBI is investigating any and all monetary connections responsible for these riots,” FBI Director Kash Patel said Monday night.

As the chaos built up, activist groups — and a major labor union — fanned the flames of the anti-ICE movement by fomenting resistance to law enforcement in the streets and online.

Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

SEIU California President David Huerta helped kick off the tumultuous weekend by getting arrested during ICE raids on Friday morning.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) alleges Huerta tried to obstruct federal agents who “were executing a lawful judicial warrant” while ICE conducted raids in Los Angeles. An affidavit accuses Huerta of conspiracy to impede an officer by directing others to block the path of law enforcement vehicles.

SEIU said Huerta was “exercising his First Amendment right to observe and document law enforcement activity” in a Friday press release.

Aligned activist groups and local SEIU chapters began posting announcements on Friday on platforms such as X, Bluesky and Instagram telling people to come to a downtown Los Angeles federal building at 4 p.m. and stand against the ICE raids. Many groups obtained and posted the same graphic for the announcement bearing the SEIU’s logo.

SEIU California boasts of having more than 700,000 members, and SEIU chapters are funded by member dues. SEIU California’s media team did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights (CHIRLA)

SEIU’s shared graphic advertised a press conference with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) at the building’s address that ended up taking place. However, after hundreds showed up to the facility starting at 4 p.m., protesters began throwing objects at police, blocking off parts of a street and vandalizing federal propertyABC7 reported. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) declared an unlawful assembly after 7 p.m.

CHIRLA is a left-wing, immigration-focused nonprofit that received nearly $34 million in government grants in 2023 under the Biden administrationtax filings show. The group did not respond to a request for comment.

Unión del Barrio and Centro CSO

Another downtown Los Angeles press conference on Friday featured speakers from Unión del Barrio and Centro CSO, Facebook video shows. Unión del Barrio’s Ron Gochez told his audience about the need to resist ICE “by any means necessary.”

“If we organize, we can kick their asses out of every single ghetto, every single barrio, anywhere where our people are,” Gochez said, drawing applause.

Who gives a damn about legality, when these people have their boot to our neck,” Gochez said, referencing immigration law. “We have . . . every single obligation, moral, historical, we have every reason to defend our people, to defend our community, to defend our families by whatever means necessary.”

Unión del Barrio describes itself as “entirely self-financed through membership dues, community contributions, and local fundraising” on its website, while Centro CSO says it is a member-funded grassroots group. The organizations did not respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)

The Los Angeles chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) helped spread SEIU’s graphic about CHIRLA’s Friday press conference on X. “Citizens who know their rights can disrupt and slow ICE incursions, as well as pressure local authorities to take action,” another Friday X post from the group reads. The DSA chapter did not respond to a request for comment.

Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL)

Los Angeles protesters were seen carrying signs from the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), which encouraged the protests to continue their “courageous stand” over the weekend and accused law enforcement of escalating the situation. A large PSL banner and PSL signs were also seen behind speakers at CHIRLA’s Friday press conference.

The PSL is a political party that is not required to publicly disclose its funding, but it is linked to a pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) millionaire’s network of political and media organizations, the DCNF previously reported. The PSL did not respond to a request for comment.

50501 Movement

The 50501 Movement, formed in response to the second Trump administration, promoted the protests on Bluesky throughout the weekend, including the Friday 4 p.m. gathering. 50501 National Press Coordinator Hunter Dunn posted about being personally among the protesters.

“50501 is a peaceful movement,” its website says. “Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.” The group’s press team did not respond to a request for comment.

Mexican President Threatened To ‘Mobilize’ Against U.S. Two Weeks Before L.A. Riots

By Brianna Lyman

Written by Brianna Lyman

Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes

Just weeks before violent riots broke out in Los Angeles in defiance of immigration enforcement, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum threatened to “mobilize” against the United States after Republicans sought to tax remittances to Mexico.

One proposal in the “big, beautiful bill” would tax remittances sent by immigrants to their home country at 3.5 percent. Remittances accounted in 2023 for roughly 7.5 percent “of global remittance flows,” according to the Center for Strategic & International Studies.

According to the New York Post, citing an estimate from the Joint Committee on Taxation, the remittance tax would bring in roughly $26 billion over the next ten years.

Sheinbaum reportedly called the proposal “unacceptable.”

“If necessary, we’ll mobilize. We don’t want taxes on remittances from our fellow countrymen. From the U.S. to Mexico,” Sheinbaum said.

Her threat came just weeks before rioters descended on Los Angeles to oppose immigration enforcement measures. Rioters have lit vehicles on fire, thrown rocks at police vehicles and fireworks at officers on horsebacklooted, and disrupted traffic. In response, the Trump administration sent 2,000 National Guard troops to “address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester.”

Sheinbaum later reacted to the riots, saying “We do not agree with violent actions as a form of protest” before reiterating a call to action, telling the “Mexican community” to “act pacifically and not allow itself to be provoked.”

Still, Sheinbaum’s threat now looks less like bluster and more like a preview. Just weeks after her vow to “mobilize,” chaos has erupted on American soil over immigration enforcement. Her latest call for Mexicans to remain active — but “pacifically” — is merely part of a continued pressure campaign.

What we’re witnessing is the geopolitical consequence of mass migration. With millions of foreign nationals — legal and illegal — now living in the United States, Mexico has effectively built a soft-power network within our own borders. The mask has now slipped, and large numbers of migrants have now made clear that they aren’t merely illegal aliens treating the United States as an economic opportunity zone — they are political instruments of a foreign state.

When a foreign president can threaten to “mobilize” and, within weeks, riots targeting U.S. laws and law enforcement erupt, that’s not just migration — it’s infiltration.

Additionally, Florida passed a law that says you do not have to stop if squatters are blocking the road. Florida’s Govenor Ron DeSantis said, “you block the freeway, you become Road Kill.”

California, Oregon, Washington State, New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois have state laws or policies that prohibit cooperation with ICE. Hawaii, Rhode Island, Delaware and Vermont have no active or pending agreements,

He may have faults, but he has been a great governor. Just wish the legislature had passes open carry. They are claiming we have Constitutional Carry since you no longer have to have a concealed carry permit to conceal. But open Carry is still not allowed.

The query “Delegation of Immigration Authority Section 287(g) Immigration and Nationality Act” is referring to the ICE 287(g) program, which is a partnership between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and state and local law enforcement agencies.

The Delegation of Immigration Authority Section 287(g) Immigration and Nationality Act reads in part:

ICE’s 287(g) Program

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 added Section 287(g) to the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) — authorizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to delegate to state and local law enforcement officers the authority to perform specified immigration officer functions under the agency’s direction and oversight.

The 287(g) Program enhances the safety and security of our nation’s communities by allowing ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) to partner with state and local law enforcement agencies to identify and remove criminal aliens who are amenable to removal from the U.S.

ICE recognizes the importance of its relationships with its law enforcement partners to carry out its critical mission.

The 287(g) program allows ICE — through the delegation of specified immigration officer duties — to enhance collaboration with state and local law enforcement partners to protect the homeland through the arrest and removal of aliens who undermine the safety of our nation’s communities and the integrity of U.S. immigration laws.

Key aspects of the 287(g) program:

  • Delegated Authority: It allows state and local law enforcement agencies to enter into agreements with ICE, delegating certain immigration enforcement authorities to designated state and local officers.
  • Enforcement Actions: Participating agencies can enforce certain aspects of U.S. immigration law, such as identifying and processing noncitizens with criminal charges, enforcing immigration authorities during routine duties, and serving and executing administrative warrants.
  • Training and Oversight: Officers participating in the program receive training from ICE and operate under the supervision of ICE officers when exercising immigration authorities.

Two primary models:

  • Jail Enforcement Model (JEM): Deputized officers can question individuals who have been arrested on state or local charges to determine their immigration status.
  • Task Force Model: Allows designated officers, like highway patrol officers, to inquire about immigration status during routine stops.

Goals:

The program aims to enhance public safety by focusing on the arrest and detention of individuals who are removable from the United States and who have criminal charges.

Historical Context: The program was established in 1996 as part of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act.

Current Status: As of December 2024, ICE has 287(g) agreements with 135 state or local law enforcement agencies across 21 states.

Important Notes:

  • Participation in the 287(g) program is voluntary for state and local law enforcement agencies.
  • ICE provides the necessary training at no cost to the participating agencies.
  • The American Immigration Council provides an overview of the 287(g) program on their website.

Information about partnering with ICE through the 287(g) program can be found on the ICE website.

Trump Holds Phone Call With Netanyahu to Discuss Iran’s Jihad Nukes

By The Geller Report

As discussed, the U.S-Iran nukes negotiations are futile. Iran will never give up enrichment through diplomatic means. How long will President Trump allow Iran to continue to lie, deceive, and stall before he walks away? Let Israel destroy Iran’s nuke sites.

Trump holds phone call with Netanyahu on Iran, trying to ‘avoid death and destruction’

The call comes as Trump has been trying to accelerate aid into Gaza and has been trying to persuade Iran to give up its nuclear program.

By Jerusalem Post, June 10th, 2025

US President Donald Trump confirmed that he spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday regarding Iran, adding that the call went well and that he is “trying to avoid death and destruction.”Additionally, Trump said Tehran was a tough negotiator as talks continued for a nuclear deal. “We’re doing a lot of work on Iran right now,” Trump said at an economic event at the White House. “It’s tough. … They’re great negotiators.”

“They’re just asking for things that you can’t do. They don’t want to give up what they have to give up,” he added. “They seek enrichment. We can’t have enrichment. We want just the opposite. And so far, they’re not there.”

LOS ANGELES: THE WORLD’S RIOT CAPITAL

By Mark Wallace

Written by Mark Wallace

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

It happens like clockwork: once every several decades, the City of Los Angeles has a major riot resulting in lost lives, burnt buildings, and the massive destruction of property. In 1965, it was the Watts Riots. 27 years later, in 1992, the Rodney King riots. And now, in 2025, Los Angeles is in the midst of yet another carnival of rioting precipitated by the lawful actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) in rounding up murderers, human traffickers, child rapists and other vile criminals who happen to be illegally present in the United States.

But all riots are not equal. For perhaps the first time, the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Governor of California are lined up not on the side of law enforcement but on the side of the criminals. Local law enforcement has apparently refused to come to the aid of fellow ICE law enforcement officers. Unwilling to permit ICE officers be murdered by hooligans throwing Molotov cocktails, President Trump quite rightly has federalized the California National Guard and ordered 2,000 troops to Los Angeles to defend these ICE  officers and to protect federal government property within the City of Los Angeles, such as the Roybal Federal Courthouse.

It’s been ugly and violent. Insurrectionists waving Mexican flags have burned automobiles. The American flag has been burned as well. One wonders if these criminals love Mexico so much and hate the United States so much why they don’t all just go back to Mexico and save us all a lot of trouble.

The fact of the matter is that Los Angeles, a so-called “sanctuary city,” is a target-rich environment in which ICE has a lot of work to do. ICE has begun that work, and has been met with threats and violence. It’s important for ICE not to back down, and to administer swift justice to those who seek to prevent ICE from doing its job. If that means arresting these miscreants by the thousands, so be it. California has lots of desert land owned by the federal government, totally appropriate for building barbed wire-rimmed camps to hold them pending trial should existing detention facilities be filled to capacity.

Article One, Section Nine of the Constitution of the United States provides that “[t]he Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.” (Italics added). Perhaps Los Angeles is at that point now. Thousands of criminals in Los Angeles are fighting to prevent ICE from enforcing immigration law. That sounds like a “Rebellion” to me. If Habeas Corpus is suspended, the thugs who seem bent on burning down Los Angeles can be arrested and held without court hearings until things simmer down. We can’t have lunatic left-wing judges turning these thugs back on the street to riot and burn some more while the problem is still ongoing. In the old days, when people had more respect for the law, the saying was “habeas corpus be damned, we’ll give them post-mortems.” There’s no need to go that far, but firm, direct and timely action is required to prevent Los Angeles from being ceded to the lawbreakers.

Predictably, California has now filed a lawsuit to require President Trump to withdraw federal troops and to leave ICE agents to the mercy of those whose main objective is to slaughter them. Here is yet another instance of Blue State Democratic officials siding with the criminals instead of law enforcement. We’ll soon see if they can find a judge who is sufficiently corrupt to side with the bad guys and issue a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction requiring President Trump to take away ICE’s protection and leave ICE officers exposed to murder and mayhem.

Article Two, Section Three of the U.S. Constitution provides that the President “shall take care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Undoubtedly, President Trump is doing precisely that in sending the National Guard to Los Angeles to protect ICE. If some rogue judge orders President Trump not to obey the Constitution and to withdraw all federal forces immediately, is President Trump required to obey such a patently unlawful order? Who has greater authority, a rogue judge or the Constitution? Suppose China sent a flotilla and invaded the United States at San Diego, and a judge friendly to the Chinese Communist Party ordered President Trump not to deploy federal troops to resist the invasion. Would President Trump be required to obey such an order? Would he have to delay sending in the Army and Marines while an appeal of the order was pending?

These are weighty questions, and if the carnage in Los Angeles continues on its present course, we may soon have an answer.

So-Called ‘Maryland Father’ Indicted for Smuggling Children, Guns and Drugs

By Hans von Spakovsky

Written by Hans von Spakovsky

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Editors’ Note: This story could be considered amusing if it were not so serious. Democratic leaders selected this particular case of a “Maryland father” as a poster boy for their political theatre antics, only to find he is indeed a hardened criminal, the kind Democrats let in by their unvetted, government-subsidized, mass immigration policies. Arguments about due process don’t look so appealing as the background of this character is revealed. The fact is, Democrats were breaking immigration laws by letting this mass migration take place over the past few years. We want to see some “due process” for Biden Administration officials like Alejandro Mayorkas.

A federal grand jury in Nashville has issued a searing criminal indictment of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the El Salvadoran in the U.S. illegally whom Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., referred to as “his constituent” and a “Maryland father.”

Garcia may be a Maryland constituent, but he won’t win any Father of the Year awards, according to the indictment. He is accused of being involved for almost a decade in organized human trafficking and arms and narcotics smuggling. This is the person whom Van Hollen went all the way to El Salvador to visit over his “illegal detention” and to demand his return to Maryland.

Garcia was, according to the indictment, a member of MS-13 who conspired with six others to “transport and move aliens” illegally into and throughout the country starting in 2016. These conspirators “facilitated the travel” of illegal aliens from “El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Mexico, and elsewhere” and many of those individuals “included MS-13 members and associates.”

Garcia’s job, apparently, was to pick up illegal aliens and gang members in Houston and then move them, which is what he was doing when he got stopped by the Tennessee State Patrol in 2022 while driving a Chevrolet Suburban he did not own. He had an expired driver’s license and there were nine other unrelated male Hispanics with no IDs and no luggage in the car.

All of them said they lived with Garcia and, according to the officer, Garcia “pretended to speak less English than he was capable of and attempted to put the encountering officer offtrack by responding to questions with questions.”

You’d have to lack any common sense not to understand what was going on at that traffic stop. But then, it seems, unfortunately, that Garcia’s supporters lack common sense. The indictment says he made at least 100 trips and transported from six to 10 aliens on each trip.

If the allegations in the indictment are true (of course, he is presumed to be innocent unless and until the government proves his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt), one can’t fault Garcia for not being a “good provider” for the abused wife who wants him back. The indictment says that Garcia and his cohorts required the illegal aliens to pay “in cash for facilitating their transport.” The conspirators “later transferred, via Western Union and other means, at least some of these monies … to other co-conspirators in foreign countries such as Mexico and Guatemala as part of the wider alien smuggling operation.”

A “wider alien smuggling operation?” Perhaps Van Hollen may get a few more stamps on his passport if he has to travel to other countries besides El Salvador to visit some of his other “constituents.”

But the indictment says Garcia wasn’t just picking up illegal aliens. He also “occasionally and simultaneously transported firearms illegally purchased in Texas for distribution and resale in Maryland,” the state in which many of Van Hollen’s other constituents were likely victimized by criminals using the weapons Garcia brought into Maryland.

Oh, and in addition to the aliens and guns, Garcia is accused of transporting “narcotics purchased in Texas for distribution and resale in Maryland.”

The grand jury claims Garcia and his fellow hoods “routinely” took the aliens’ cellphones so they couldn’t contact anyone during the trips. They transported them in “an unsafe manner, including using reconfigured vehicles with aftermarket unattached seating rows, and they transported children on the floorboards of vehicles in order to maximize profits.”

So apparently “Maryland’s father,” as alleged by the Justice Department, was not only involved in trafficking adults, but he was also smuggling children in a way that risked their lives in traffic accidents.

The indictment even says that Garcia was disciplined by one of his fellow conspirators after Garcia “abused some of the female” illegal aliens. Garcia’s coconspirator disciplined him because it was “bad for business,” lest you think he was motivated by humanitarian concerns. Abusing females? Sounds familiar.

This is the guy that Van Hollen has been spending his time and effort on trying to bring back to Maryland. In a letter the senator sent to the El Salvadoran ambassador, Van Hollen said he had met with Garcia’s wife—the one who accused him of domestic abuse—and Garcia’s mother and brother, who were “extremely worried about his health, safety, and continued illegal confinement, as am I.”

Speaking of relatives, the indictment alleges that Garcia “sometimes brought close relatives with him when he picked up undocumented aliens in Texas and transported them to other parts of the United States.” But the indictment doesn’t identify who those “close relatives” were, which raises a serious question: who were the relatives on those smuggling trips with him? Anyone we know?

Too bad Van Hollen doesn’t have the same worry about the “health and safety” of the residents of Maryland who were victimized—if the indictment is correct—by Garcia’s trafficking humans, guns, and narcotics for a decade as a member of a dangerous, deadly gang in the state Van Hollen represents.

Supporters of illegal immigration and open borders have picked the wrong poster child to glorify. And I, for one, am glad that Garcia is in “confinement.”

Arab Media Report: Egypt Warned U.S. That Boulder, Colorado Firebomber Was Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Member

By Middle East Media Research Institute

On June 1, 2025, 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman injured at least a dozen people marching at a gathering to support Israeli hostages in Gaza in Boulder, Colorado, shouting “Free Palestine” as he attacked demonstrators with Molotov cocktails and a homemade flamethrower, before being arrested at the scene.[1] The Egyptian-born Soliman entered the U.S. in 2022 as a non-immigrant visitor, after spending 17 years in Kuwait, and the following year received a two-year work authorization that expired in March 2025. He had previously sought asylum in the U.S. in 2005 but was denied a visa.

Soliman was described as a supporter of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood (MB), which is banned in Egypt, and his Facebook account reportedly expressed support for MB-affiliated former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and for the MB’s 2013 protests against his removal in a military coup led by current President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

In a June 6 article, the London-based Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that Egyptians expressed “relief” that their country was not on President Trump’s recent ban list, after Trump defended his decision to exempt Egypt despite the Boulder attack, stating that it is “a country that we deal with very closely,” and “they have things under control.” It quoted Egyptian senator Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed, who credited the decision not to include Egypt on the list to “the success of Egyptian diplomacy.”

Saeed claimed that his country had informed the U.S. “years ago” that Soliman was an MB member, explaining that “the issue of Washington’s position on the MB is one of the issues constantly under discussion between the two sides, and Egypt always warns against the results of including them.”

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory thumbnail

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

By The Daily Caller

SNATCHING DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY

Democrats finally had their moment. After months of trying to figure out how best to combat the rapid-pace Trump administration, Elon Musk handed them a victory on a silver platter.

Shortly after departing his role as a special government employee, Musk ripped Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” accused the president of flipping on his campaign promises, and even tacitly alleged Trump is a pedophile.

The public blow-up was red meat for Democrats who had been warning that the Trump-Musk relationship was destined for failure and who focused most of their attacks and protests on the Tesla CEO.

Within a week of Musk’s public blow-up, the Democrats found a way to screw it up again.

Over the weekend, activists took to the streets of LA to block ICE raids of illegal immigrants (the raids picked up child molesters, rapists, drug traffickers, and domestic abusers, among others). The situation quickly turned violent, with rioters physically blocking ICE agents, setting cars on fire, throwing rocks at law enforcement vehicles, blocking highways, and committing acts of vandalism.

Trump sent in 2,000 National Guardsmen, decrying the tepid local response that allowed riots to swell.

Instead of keeping their mouths shut and letting the “adults in the room” handle the chaos, Democrats quickly reminded everyone why they lost the 2024 election. They chose to side with the rioters and illegal immigrants waving Mexican flags on American soil.

Democrats blamed ICE and Trump — apparently the only two entities concerned with upholding the law — with fanning the flames started by the pro-illegal protesters.

“If you dial back time and go to Friday, if immigration raids had not happened here, we would not have had the disorder that went on last night,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said.

Okay, so we can’t detain illegal immigrants because they might riot? Isn’t that an even better reason to get them the hell out of our country?

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, perhaps mulling whether she should send out a link to another bail fund, stated, “Los Angeles is my home. And like so many Americans, I am appalled at what we are witnessing on the streets of our city … Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos.”

“This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted. He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said, adding that he was suing Trump over the deployment of the National Guard.

Newsom’s other statements suggested that the real problem with violent acts being committed is that it “gives Donald Trump the reaction he’s looking for” and fuels “Trump’s flames.” Democrats can’t even say outright that violence is bad without invoking Trump.

Immigration and crime were top issues in the 2024 election. How stupid do you have to be politically to leap to the defense of the exact people American voters said they’ve had enough of?

As a bonus, the Democratic response appears to be driving Musk back into the arms of Trump. The former DOGE chief took a screenshot of one of Trump’s Truth Social posts and shared it on X:

“Governor Gavin Newscum and ‘Mayor’ Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, and this now includes the ongoing L.A. riots. These are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists. Remember, NO MASKS!”

GOV. NEWSCUM ‘COME AFTER ME, ARREST ME’: California Governor, Los Angeles Mayor Encourage Anti-Law Enforcement Violence

By The Geller Report

The ICE officials, the National Guard and other cooperating law enforcement officials are simply executing what is a lawful act (immigration enforcement and protecting the safety and security of those engaged those actions).

This is the response of Democrat ‘leadership,” party of treason.

Gov. Newsom adds fuel to fire, dares Trump’s border czar Tom Homan to arrest him amid violent anti-ICE riots

By Emily Crane, NY Post, June 9, 2025:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom added fuel to the fire after daring President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan to arrest him for failing to crackdown on violent anti-ICE agitators in his state.

“Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” the defiant Democrat told NBC News on Sunday.

Newsom’s taunt came soon after Homan had warned that the governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could both face federal charges for trying to thwart ICE raids throughout the city.

“I’ll say it about anybody,” Homan had said in a weekend interview as fiery scenes erupted throughout Los Angeles.

“You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job.”

In response to the violence, Trump said he’d deploy 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city as federal immigration agents faced off against scores of anti-ICE protesters for a third day.

Newsom, who insisted the Trump move would only exacerbate the conditions, stoked the flames — as he accused the administration of using federal power as a political weapon.

“He’s a tough guy. Why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me,” Newsom told the outlet.

“But you know what? Let your hands off 4-year-old girls that are trying to get educated. Let your hands off these poor people. They’re just trying to live their lives, man. Trying to live their lives, paying their taxes. Been here for 10 years. The fear, the horror.”
Governor Gavin Newsom speaking at a press conference. 3

“The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up. They need to stop, and we need to push back. And I’m sorry to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go,” he added.

Newsom, for his part, said he plans to file a lawsuit against the Trump administration first thing Monday to thwart the deployment of troops.

“They had to coordinate with the governor of the state,” Newsom said.

What do you think? Post a comment.

“They never coordinated with the governor of the state.”

“This is about authoritarian tendencies. This is about command and control. This is about power. This is about ego,” he added.

As for LA Mayor Bass, she’s a radical:

She has decades of infatuation with socialism and Cuba-style communism. When she was a potential VP pick for Biden in 2020, The Atlantic did a profile highlighting her decades of engagement in Cuba: she’s also the only person on Biden’s list who spent part of the 1970s working construction in Fidel Castro’s Cuba with the Venceremos Brigade, a group that has organized annual trips to Cuba for young, leftist Americans for half a century….. Bass went to see Castro speak in Revolution Square in Havana, joining “about a bazillion people” in the crowd, she said. Although she couldn’t understand him, he was “extremely charismatic.”… Bass’s interest in Cuba kept up after she became a member of the California assembly. She went to the country again in 2005, on a trip organized by the California lobbyist Darius Anderson and paid for out of her campaign account, according to campaign-finance records kept by the California secretary of state. She’s returned several times since being elected to the U.S. House in 2010. She visited Alan Gross, the USAID contractor whom Cuba accused of being a spy, during his five years in prison, and joined then–Secretary of State John Kerry when he went to Havana to raise the American flag over the reestablished U.S. embassy in 2015 (Atlantic).

And: Many of you will remember, Bass was in Africa during the devastating fires in January. Why was she in Africa? Desert Sun: Bass was in West Africa to attend the inauguration of Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday. Jan 4 (Desert Sun).

Why is that so exciting for her? The Socialist International explains: The Socialist International congratulates John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of Ghana, a clear reflection of the trust placed in his leadership. We also applaud the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a valued member of our global family, for its dedication to democracy and social justice (Socialist).

Mahama in 2012: “I am still a socialist” (Newsweek). So: Bass abandoned Los Angeles in the fires to celebrate the achievement of her like-minded brother in Ghana. Don’t trust her today.

Governor Newsom: We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved (Newsom).

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass: My office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organization. We will not stand for this (Bass).

More: We are going to fight for all Angelenos (Bass).

Fox 5: Peaceful protests turn violent…  (Fox 5).

Sarah Arnold of Townhall: California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) urged anti-ICE demonstrators to resist President Donald Trump’s actions, telling them not to give the president what he wants—even as he called on protesters to deescalate and stand down amid a third consecutive night of violent unrest. “California – Don’t give Donald Trump what he wants,” Newsom wrote on X.(Townhall).

Newsom calls Trump a dictator: These are the acts of a dictator, not a President (Newsom).

This is not the language of de-escalation. Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass endanger our first responders. California Rep. Darrell Issa: Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass have a real habit of letting Los Angeles burn (Issa).

Angeles Mayor Bass ordered LAPD to stand down when ICE was under siege.

Group Stoking Anti-ICE LA Riots Tied To Pro-Chinese Communist Millionaire

By The Daily Caller

A socialist group that promoted the chaotic anti-deportation protests in Los Angeles that began Friday is tied to a network of groups bankrolled by a pro-China millionaire.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) spoke out in support of the mob rioting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the weekend, posted to X to call for more action on Sunday and created signs that protesters were seen carrying. The PSL shares personnel overlap with groups funded by American tech mogul Neville Singham, whom The New York Times described in August 2023 as sitting at the center of a “lavishly funded influence campaign” promoting pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda.

“The people of Los Angeles and surrounding areas have taken a courageous stand against [President Donald] Trump’s reign of terror targeting immigrant families,” the PSL said in a Sunday statement. “In response, the administration has falsely labeled those taking to the streets in protest of the brutal war on immigrants as ‘rioters’ and called in thousands of National Guard soldiers for a crackdown.”

Trump mobilized the National Guard on Saturday to quell the riots, which have included crowds blocking traffic, vandalizing property with anti-ICE messages, starting fires and throwing objects at law enforcement in support of illegal migrants. At least 56 people were arrested over the weekend, NBC News reported.

“National Guard go away! ICE out of LA!” reads a Sunday X post from the PSL at 12:45 a.m. that called for “mass mobilization.” The group later posted videos of protesters gathering in the streets with supportive captions, omitting scenes of unrest that reportedly led to more arrests on Sunday. The PSL did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Singham, the pro-China businessman, has donated tens of millions of dollars to the PSL-linked group People’s Forum through various shell organizations since 2017, the New York Post reported. The People’s Forum was founded by Claudia De La Cruz, who ran as the PSL’s candidate for president in 2024 and was a “central committee member” of PSL.

The PSL is not required to disclose its funding publicly. De La Cruz described the organization as “member-funded” in October 2024.

PSL founding member Ben Becker, along with former PSL candidates Karla Reyes and Yari Osorio, have held leading roles at Breakthrough BT Media Inc, a Singham-funded media organization pushing pro-CCP narratives, according to the Network Contagion Research Institute. Breakthrough BT Media Inc’s 2023 tax filings show Becker as editor-in-chief, Reyes as chair, Osorio as treasurer and De La Cruz as secretary.

The DCNF could not reach Singham directly for comment. Thoughtworks, a software company he founded, did not respond to an inquiry.

The People’s Forum did not respond to a request for comment. The group referred to Singham in 2021 as “a Marxist comrade who sold his company & donated most of his wealth to nonprofits that focus on political education, culture & internationalism.”

“I categorically deny and repudiate any suggestion that I am a member of, work for, take orders from, or follow instructions of any political party or government or their representatives,” Singham told the New York Times in August 2023.

The PSL has praised the late murderous dictator Mao Zedong for his communist revolution that established the modern Chinese communist regime. The group also denied the 1989 massacre of pro-democracy protesters by CCP troops at Tiananmen Square, as the Chinese government does.

The group’s social media posts, however, claimed L.A. protesters were resisting “repression” from the Trump administration.

The PSL’s anti-Israel stances and open support for Hamas terrorism came under scrutiny when former PSL member Elias Rodriguez was charged with killing two Israeli Embassy workers in May to make a statement for Palestinians. The PSL deleted an article featuring Rodriguez and said it had “nothing to do” with him after the murders.

Instead of Shutting Down Immigration Riots, Newsom Suing Trump For National Guard Deployment

By The Daily Caller

Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom plans to sue the Trump administration for deploying the Army National Guard to California in response to anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) riots, he said Monday.

Newsom accused Trump of acting illegally by sending in 2,000 guardsmen to Los Angeles as riots raged over the weekend.

“He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard,” Newsom wrote on X, adding, “We’re suing him.”

“We don’t take lightly to the president abusing his authority and unlawfully mobilizing California National Guard troops,” state Attorney General Rob Bonta echoed in remarks to reporters, according to the Associated Press.

Newsom’s legal threats come after Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan said that he is considering asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prosecute California officials for “fomenting the anti‑ICE riots.”

Rioting began following ICE raids in LA, part of a broader push by the agency to ramp up illegal immigrant deportations. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the LA raids led to the arrest of several violent illegal alien criminals. ICE has made over 100,000 arrests since the beginning of Trump’s second term, and border crossings have fallen to historic lows, according to the White House.

Although Newsom has repeatedly insisted that California officials had the situation under control, the scene in LA suggests otherwise. Rioters were seen setting fire to police vehicles and autonomous taxis and tossing rocks at federal law enforcement officials.

In the face of California’s lawsuit, Trump is standing by his move to deploy the National Guard, saying in a social media post, “We made a great decision.”

Newsom’s current feud with President Trump is a continuation of California lawmakers’ repeated attempts to derail ICE operations. Democrats in the California Senate moved to pass legislation aimed at severely limiting ICE agents’ ability to effectively operate in the state. LA leaders designated the city a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants following Trump’s inauguration.

Newsom’s political future ‘practically nonexistent’ as LA devolves into riots, social media critics predict California governor faces mounting criticism over handling of riots just months after outrage over fire response

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s floated potential run for the White House in 2028 was likely thwarted by his handling of the anti-ICE riots gripping Los Angeles, conservative social media critics predict.

Newsom has been floated as a likely 2028 Democratic contender for the White House as he wraps up his second term as governor in 2026. Riots plaguing the city in response to the Trump administration’s efforts to remove illegal immigrants residing in Los Angeles, which come on the heels of massive wildfires that rocked southern California this winter, have left Newsom on precarious political ground, according to conservatives who are balking at his response to the LA chaos.

“Gavin Newsom’s odds of clinching the 2028 presidential race are practically nonexistent,” X user Angela Belcamino posted Monday. “Across the country, Americans are eyeing California’s struggles under his watch, convinced he’d unleash the same chaos nationwide if he ever won the White House.”

“Gavin Newsom’s handling of the LA riots should be considered an in-kind contribution to the JD Vance 2028 presidential campaign. Newsom is providing a lot of ad material for free,” one social media account posted on Sunday.

The party of treason. What’s it going to take people?

Brian K. Williams was in charge of public safety You can’t make this stuff up.

Williams sent a text message to LA Mayor Karen Bass and other high-ranking city officials on Oct. 3, 2024 that he just received a call from someone who threatened to bomb city hall, prosecutors said.

“The male caller stated that ‘he was tired of the city support of Israel, and he has decided to place a bomb in City Hall. It might be in the rotunda.’,” Williams wrote in the text, according to prosecutors.

He said he contacted the Los Angeles Police Department, who sent officers to search the building.

LA deputy mayor pleads guilty to calling in fake, anti-Israel bomb threat

Brian Williams, who was charged by federal prosecutors Thursday, faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

By Kenneth Schrupp, Just The News, May 24, 2025:

Brian Williams, who was charged by federal prosecutors Thursday, faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

Mayor Karen Bass announced in December that Williams had been put on administrative leave, meaning he likely has been collecting his $245,143 combined salary and benefits without any official duties. As deputy mayor for public safety, Williams would have overseen the city’s fire and police response during the devastating January wildfires.

The Department of Justice reports that during an online government meeting, Williams used his personal cellphone’s Google Voice app to call his city cellphone, then left the meeting and placed a call to the Los Angeles Public Department, saying he received a call from an unknown man with a threat to bomb Los Angeles City Hall.

“Williams received no such call and had made the bomb threat himself,” wrote the DOJ. “At no time did Williams intend to carry out the threat.”

Williams then texted Bass and other high-ranking officials to share the news.

“Bomb threat: I received phone call on my city cell at 10:48 am this morning. The male caller stated that ‘he was tired of the city support of Israel, and he has decided to place a bomb in City Hall. It might be in the rotunda.’ I immediately contacted the chief of staff of LAPD, they are going to send a number of officers over to do a search of the building and to determine if anyone else received a threat,” texted Williams.

LAPD then searched city hall for explosives or suspicious packages, finding none.

Williams then texted the mayor and high-ranking officials again, saying, “At this time, there is no need for us to evacuate the building, I’m meeting with the threat management officers within the next 10 minutes. In light of the Jewish holidays, we are taking this thread, a little more seriously.”
