Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson on Friday introduced legislation that would strip Secret Service protection from ‘convicted felons’ sentenced to prison, a bill clearly aimed at President Donald Trump.
House Democrats on Friday moved to strip President Trump of his Secret Service protection if he is convicted.
Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson introduced a resolution that would terminate Trump’s Secret Service protection. The legislation dubbed the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act would apply to all Secret Service Protectees convicted and sentenced under felony charges.
“The DISGRACED Former Protectees Act would terminate Secret Service protection for individuals who otherwise qualify for it upon sentencing following conviction for a Federal or State felony,” the announcement said.

“It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality. Therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so the American people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment —and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them,” Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson said according to the Washington Times.
“Obvious subtext here is that removing USSS would make it easier for someone to kill Trump, which is arguably the goal of Thompson’s bill, H.R. 8081,” Byron York said.

Many arguments have arisen for the removal of the Confederate Flag and other articles associated with the American Civil War/War between the States. A consistent and glaring theme that few discuss is the eradication of American history in all its’ glory and ugliness. America is not a perfect nation, but Americans from both the north and south, east and west have always striven to be free from tyrants and a government that forgets that it was established to serve the people, and not the other way around.
Our founders stated for all to read for all time and eternity that the average man and woman, all people from every background and life experience have rights, and government has only the powers the sovereign people have delegated to it.
This founding principle is also being erased by politicians in BOTH political parties.
Americans are not perfect, but Americans are a forgiving people and when wrong is exposed Americans want to right the wrong, institute correction so as not to have a repeat of the wrong, and to embrace all who adopt our American values, creeds, and ideals formulated by our Forefathers who created this unique nation. There are, however, those who clearly despise America and they are working to transform this nation into something it was never, ever intended. In attempting to accomplish their diabolical goal, they work at erasing all elements of our country’s history in the process.
These diabolically motivated Cretins care less about America’s history and care even less about embracing our history and learning from the same.
America’s principles helped create a country like none other, an exceptional nation that many in elected office today resent and are working diligently to transform into merely a country within the global sphere of countries. These folks with dark hearts cannot comprehend why Americans defend their country with every drop of blood within them.
Those with diabolical schemes coursing through their veins cannot comprehend why Americans look fondly to this nation’s origins, vigilantly assert their political rights and civic responsibilities, and hold in their hearts the special meaning that is America with our role, and yes, our responsibility to the world.
Transform America. Eradicate all signs and wonders of America’s exceptional creation and development. Forever remove all history so a population has no reference point, no foundation, no appreciation much less understanding of all the costs to simply bring us to this point in time. Transform America into something far from the ideals and vision our Forefathers intended and gave their sacred honor to embrace.
Erase every monument and article of this Nation’s history to redirect the citizens of America into a New-World Order that is not exceptional at all except for its’ tyrannical rule and removal of individual rights and freedoms, including the celebrating of individual gifts and strengths.
The men of Kentucky would not have stood for this; neither would the men of Pennsylvania. There isn’t a day that some horrible news doesn’t come into our home via newspapers, magazines or email. Today is no different. Yesterday’s headline was that the Republican held House reauthorized a two-year government surveillance power in the FISA bill, and Speaker Mike Johnson cast the winning vote.
Today’s news was just as horrifying. The unelected elitists in the World Economic Forum are strongly promoting digital IDs to enforce vaccination compliance.
There is a network of power-seekers operating in the US and throughout the world to destroy nations and rule the planet. They hate freedom and liberty.
Community organizer Saul Alinsky stated, “True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within.”
And they infiltrate…everything.
Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci gave us the blueprint for what has happened to America, “Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Judeo-Christianity. … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.”
Infiltration and Extirpation
Back in 2009, when the Tea Parties started up, I remember watching Glenn Beck on Fox News. He had Tea Party representatives from all over the country in studio. I was astonished at their lack of knowledge, but they knew something was very wrong and wanted to fix it. Judge Napolitano came out at the end and stated that all could be fixed with a constitutional convention, and it wasn’t long before Beck was touting one as well. Opening our fabulous constitution to destruction is the goal of the infiltrators.
A controlled opposition is a protest movement that is actually being led by government agents. Nearly all governments in history have employed this technique to trick and subdue their adversaries. Vladimir Lenin said, “The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.”
As for Newt, in 1996, Speaker Gingrich signed the Republican-led “gun free school zones act,” creating criminal safe zones like Virginia Tech, where the only person armed was a murderous criminal. Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconsin introduced the bill that was incorporated into the Crime Control Act of 1990 and signed into law by George H.W. Bush.
If you check on the voting list of those who voted “yea” on Public Law 101-216 in 1989 (an update to the General and Complete Disarmament Law, Public Law 87-297) you will find that Newt Gingrich voted in favor of section 2 of this disarmament bill which reads: “(2) as defined in this Act, the terms ‘arms control’ and ‘disarmament’ mean ‘the identification, verification, inspection, limitation, control, reduction, or elimination, of armed forces and armaments of all kinds under international agreement to establish an effective system of international control’.”
As for those Tea Parties, within six to eight weeks, the majority were infiltrated and became nothing more than garden clubs effecting no change.
In Manning Johnson’s 1958 book, Color, Communism and Common Sense, Johnson exposed the communist infiltration of black churches using the age old adage of divide and conquer by stirring up racial hatred. Johnson wrote that communists plotted to use the US Courts to aid communism, to subvert the black churches and to use their members to stir up race conflict. Many white churches have been infiltrated with Black Lives Matter, gay rights, and even Antifa. All of this was exposed in R. M. Whitney’s 1926 book, Reds in America.
This brings me to the core of this article and what I have seen taking place in the John Birch Society’s New American Magazine, an organization and magazine that I love and am concerned about.
John F. McManus
Many years ago, I had written an article where I quoted someone who had lied about the John Birch Society (JBS). Shortly thereafter, John (Jack) F. McManus, President of JBS called me and we spoke for over an hour. I joined the Society.
Years later, Jack was to speak in Memphis, so a girlfriend and I drove across state and heard Jack express his distaste for Rockefeller’s United Nations and how it needed to be defunded and abolished. Two JBS life members were with us and we enjoyed a wonderful evening. You can still watch Jack’s magnificent expose of the UN.
Interestingly enough, it was Buckley’s National Review that brought Jack to the Birch Society. He had been an antagonist regarding the JBS and read an article in National Review he agreed with regarding Robert Welch’s organization. Watch this two-minute video where Jack tells what happened.
I cannot begin to list all that Jack McManus accomplished in his lifetime. I had hoped that an entire issue of JBS’ New American Magazine (NAM) would be devoted to his memory since he passed away on March 4th of this year. I wanted to see the photo from the cover of this book on the front of an issue devoted to this wonderful man. It is Jack speaking with Robert Welch.
In February of this year, I wrote a letter to the publisher of the NAM with copies to editors and directors of the magazine as well as the CEO, president emeritus and others.
I was extremely concerned with changes I had seen. So often, the direction changes and weakens, in these wonderful liberty and freedom organizations, when the old guard passes away.
Many of the JBS employees are allegedly not even members of the Society, and as I recall, CEO Bill Hahn, wasn’t a member before he was made CEO. How can that be? Where is the allegiance to the organization if you aren’t even a paying member?
The NAM’s logo had always been “That Freedom Shall Not Perish.” It was recently changed to “Know More, Do More,” which sounds like an advertisement for Home Depot or Lowes.
I was horrified that the freedom logo had been replaced. And asked in my letter:
Isn’t freedom the entire goal of the John Birch Society?
Aren’t we to be educated and equipped warriors against the evils of Marxism and fascism?
Aren’t we all waging a war to stop the juggernaut of communist evil from overtaking our beloved country?
Wasn’t it freedom that JBS founder, Robert Welch, spent his life fighting for?
That word “Freedom” means as much today as it did when our founders adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the actual signing occurred on August 2, of 1776. Following the signing, were seven years of America’s War for Independence from Great Britain that didn’t end until September of 1783.
Freedom, that cry of all people, needs to be the everlasting banner of the New American Magazine, especially today, when our freedom is in great peril of perishing.
Another problem popped up last year. In all the years I had been a member, I was able to find the NAM articles on the web that had appeared in the magazine and forward them widely to friends. I knew that many of those who received the articles were impressed and ended up ordering the magazine.
All of a sudden, they were unavailable.
The magazine had adopted the business model of charging to read their articles, but for months, state leaders could not even access the articles to forward them. Under Biden’s economy, feeding the family and paying the bills comes first. Incomes are stretched to the limit and few can afford extras.
This problem is now fixed after many months, and we can once again forward articles, but only members can access the articles.
There are some amazing investigative journalists who are editors of the magazine. Alex Newman, Rebecca Terrell and R. Cort Kirkwood are my favorites. I have sent hundreds of NAM articles through email, but there were two that were extremely important; Rebecca Terrell’s Covid Hospital Rescue and Alex Newman’s BlackRock: Masters of the Universe.
Another change has been the use of AI for magazine cover art. I was shocked at the visage of Klaus Schwab on one cover as it didn’t even look like that despicable snake.
These minor changes along with others I haven’t mentioned, have me concerned. We need this organization to be operating with the same focus they had at their inception.
My letter was directed to the publisher, but I never received a response. Instead, JBS CEO, Bill Hahn, who was sent a copy of the letter, responded via email. Rather than alleviating my fears by telling me he’d look into everything I mentioned, he sent a “defense” letter. That certainly wasn’t the way to win friends and influence people and it didn’t assuage my fears.
The Communist Onslaught
America was long ago infiltrated with communists. As I’ve written in past articles, the first communist arrived here in 1824. His name was Robert Owen and he started a socialist school in Harmony, Indiana where he had purchased 20,000 acres. The school failed.
His son, Robert Dale Owen, also a socialist, became a US Congressman and founded the Smithsonian Institute, understood completely where New Harmony went wrong.
“All cooperative schemes which provide equal remuneration to the skilled and industrious and the ignorant and idle must work their own downfall,” he wrote of his father’s utopia. “For by this unjust plan they must of necessity eliminate the valuable members and retain only the improvident, unskilled and vicious.”
In 1848, a huge number of communists immigrated to the United States after their socialist efforts had failed in Germany. Thirteen high ranking soldiers in the Union Army were Marxists and corresponded with Marx. President Lincoln received letters from Karl Marx and they are in the Smithsonian.
By the 1930s, our government schools were being infiltrated with Marxists as told by former Congressman Paul W. Shafer and John Howland Snow in their book, The Turning of the Tides.
In the 1950s, Hollywood and our government were being infiltrated with communists and Senator Joseph McCarthy knew they had to be exposed. Blacklisted By History authored by M. Stanton Evans, tells the full story of the struggles of Joe McCarthy to expose what was happening to our beloved nation. It is a revealing expose of the forces that distorted our national policy in the cold war conflict and our understanding of its history since. It is an incredibly detailed work of scholarship and investigative journalism.
Conclusion
Infiltration is the key. We must not allow it to happen to the only group known for exposing and fighting communism. The United Nations, The World Economic Forum and The World Health Organization all represent Marxist control.
Today, the Leftists who appear to be full-blown Stalinists, are in control of far too many facets of American society and culture. This is why we need a vibrant and strong John Birch Society with the same fire in the belly to save our beloved country.
The education must go on with new leaders like Jack McManus, a man whose heart was always for God, Family and Country.

Then came the 1960s and the Sexual Revolution. Many attribute the Sexual Revolution to the birth control pill approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1960. Some states banned the pill entirely or made it illegal for single women to purchase, but by 1972, the Supreme Court ruled that prohibiting the sale of contraceptives to unmarried women was unconstitutional. At the same time, attitudes about sex changed. Sex was no longer culturally tied to marriage and children.
With this change, a new organization was formed to tackle sexual health and education in America.Mary S. Calderone, the medical director of Planned Parenthood of America, co-founded the Sex Information and Education Council (SEICUS) in 1964. SEICUS had a mission of moving America away from the Family Life focus of sex education of the past. They asserted that “sex is not just something you do in marriage, in a bed, in the dark, in one position. Sex is what it means to be a man or woman.” This was the first time the nation had been introduced to comprehensive sex education programs in our public high schools. The type of sex education promoted by SEICUS included content on gays, lesbians, and masturbation.
Another proponent of comprehensive sex education during the time was Lester A Kendell, who wanted the nation’s sex education programs to move away from the idea that premarital sex was harmful to society or individuals. He explained, “The purpose of sex education is not primarily to control and suppress sex expression, as in the past, but to indicate the immense possibilities for human fulfillment that human sexuality offers.” You can see how this mindset would lead to a focus on pleasure-based sex education, perhaps something fine for classes given to adults but wholly inappropriate for instruction to children.
SEICUS produced study guides on sex education, masturbation, and homosexuality with funding from the Office of Education at the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. With the wide distribution of its guides, SIECUS received requests from schools to help with their sex education programs. The Family Life Education programs, as proclaimed by the sexual progressives, were deemed insufficient to meet the educational needs of the rapidly changing sex lives of the American people. Or were the times really changing as quickly as we have been told?
If you look at the statistics from the time of the Sexual Revolution, the mindset of Americans was still pretty tame. It turns out not everyone was a free-love hippie. Of married women, 21 percent had no premarital sex, and 43 percent of women had only one premarital sex partner—their future husband. Even as late as the 1980s, over half of women had only one partner before walking down the aisle. Compare this to 2010, where only 5 percent of new brides are virgins. It’s all relative. At the time, the Sexual Revolution seemed wild, but in comparison, today, it was PG. Regardless, sex education organizations like SEICUS found their angle to get into the schools and promote their loose view of sex to those under 18.

By the 1980s, around half the states in America adopted comprehensive sex education curricula, while the rest continued to teach Family Life Education classes emphasizing abstinence before marriage. But in the mid-1980s, the deadly AIDS epidemic fundamentally changed how America viewed sex. With an almost 100 percent fatal rate at the time, both sides of the sex education debates blamed each other. Those in favor of more abstinence-centered programs believed that the AIDS epidemic was caused by the overall moral decline of society and the sanctioning of permissive attitudes toward sex by those favoring comprehensive sex education programs. Organizations like SEICUS used the AIDS epidemic to justify the need for more information on homosexual relationships to be taught in our schools. In 1986, U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop pushed for comprehensive sex education in our nation’s public schools. “There is no doubt that we need sex education in our schools, and it includes information on heterosexual and homosexual relationships,” Koop wrote in his report. “The need is critical, and the price of neglect is high.”
But was the need critical? Yes, the AIDS epidemic was scary and certainly made the headlines, but the realistic chance for an American to contract and then die from AIDS in the 1980s was around 0.0002 percent. Nevertheless, AIDS deaths were the tragic excuse needed to get more instruction in our sex education programs about homosexual sex and a general push toward comprehensive sex ed.
Fast forwarding to today, some organizations are pushing for more pleasure-based sex education, completely obliterating the lines of what most sane people would consider appropriate to talk about with children. Consider that the National Education Association’s LGBTQ caucus recommends the Queering Sex Education Teen Guide. The guide asserts:
We recognize the need for an alternative sex education resource. It’s not okay that gaps are being left and our sexual experiences are being ignored: there’s so much opportunity in the queer world, and that includes queer sex. Penis and vagina is one kind of sex, but it’s not the only kind of sex! This information should not only be available but celebrated. We want to re-frame the sex that we have and the sex that we want to have as something positive. We want to see the kind of sex we have and want to have reflected in the curriculum. It’s needed.
The guide recommends that students be taught about fisting, rimming, bondage, and sadomasochism. They also have a resource video produced by Planned Parenthood of Toronto to teach students about all those acts. This is just one example of the push for pleasure-based sex education in our schools. The point is that putting a condom on a banana was PG-13, but now they want sex education to be NC-17. America, this is not a joke. This is really happening.

Flyers reportedly posted around a Resource Center Matamoros facility in Mexico encouraged illegal immigrants — who are not eligible to vote in the United States — to vote for President Joe Biden in November, according to The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. One of the organizations operating out of the Resource Center Matamoros (RCM) has ties to Biden’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whose articles of impeachment the U.S. House of Representatives delivered to the Senate [this past] Tuesday afternoon.
The flyers, which the Oversight Project posted photos of on X, read “Reminder to vote for President Biden when you are in the United States. We need another four years of his term to stay open.” The Heritage Foundation said the flyers were first discovered by Muckraker but also confirmed to The Federalist that their own team had obtained a copy of one of the flyers “inside the RCM office.”
“The flyer in the X thread is a direct scan of the one our folks obtained on-site inside the RCM office,” a Heritage Foundation representative said. “The flyers were also posted all over the camp in the port-a-potties.”
Nevertheless, others have raised questions about the flyer, including Fox News’ Bill Melugin.
“I am extremely skeptical of this. The flier appears to be a word for word Google Translate copy & paste of a portion of the NGO’s English website, with ‘vote for Biden’ randomly added in at the end, when it does not appear on the site,” Melugin posted on X. “The translation is bad, then you have ‘bienvenidos’ spelled wrong and ‘todos con Biden’ added onto the flier with a Biden logo.”
Another social media user associated with a left-wing immigration group claimed to have spoken with the executive director of RCM and said the posters were “Totally fake” and “Made up by two posers.”
It is unclear whether RCM authorized the posting of the flyers, but the Heritage Foundation told The Federalist that because they found flyers in the RCM office, they have “every reason to believe” the flyer is from the organization. The Federalist reached out to RCM for more information but did not receive a response.
The flyers “appear to be handed out when illegal aliens use the RCM for assistance in coming to the USA,” according to the Oversight Project.
RCM says it is “a humanitarian organization that provides a safe space where refugees at the southern Texas-Mexico border can access legal and social support services.” Its “6-unit office complex” hosts the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), which provides “legal assistance and assistance with obtaining formal documents for job search and integration into the city of Matamoros as [migrants] wait to access the asylum process in the US.”
RCM founder and executive director Gaby Zavala previously worked with La Union del Pueblo Entero (LUPE)– a left-wing organization that is partnered with the Open Society Institute, as pointed out by the Oversight Project. The Open Society Institute is funded by left-wing billionaire and mega-donor George Soros.
RCM also worked alongside Team Brownsville, a left-wing organization, and Angry Tias and Abeulas, which aims to help illegal immigrants cross the border, according to the Oversight Project.
Mayorkas — whose disastrous handling of the invasion at the southern border earned him impeachment by the House — was formerly on the board of HIAS and in his current role with the Biden administration has met with members of both Angry Tias and Abuelas as well as LUPE, according to Judicial Watch.
While illegal immigrants and other noncitizens are prohibited from voting in federal elections, federal voter registration forms simply require each individual to check a box affirming he is a U.S. citizen. The lack of any requirement that new voters show documentary proof of citizenship prompted former President Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday to announce Republican legislation that would demand such documentation from new registrants.
The federal government currently prohibits states from requiring potential voters to provide such proof to register to vote in federal elections. States may require proof of citizenship to register for statewide elections, as Arizona does. But even in Arizona, a voter who attempts to register to vote with the state form but fails to provide proof of citizenship must then be registered to vote on a federal-only form.
During the 2020 presidential election, 11,600 voters voted using a federal-only ballot, AZ Free News reported. President Joe Biden won the state by 10,457 votes.

A German Catholic princess has given an impassioned speech on behalf of dwindling European families at the National Conservatism Convention.
Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, a dear friend of the late Pope Benedict XVI, made her remarks this week at the meeting in Brussels, a conference she told LifeSiteNews was “very well organized.” She began her talk with a reference to famous television shows.
“The last TV series I can remember that promoted the beauty of a large family was “The Waltons” and “The Partridge Family” in the 70s when I grew up,” Princess Gloria remarked.
“I can’t remember any movie for the last 20 years at least where family was portrayed as something wonderful to strive for.”
“Today it looks like the only people who want to get married are homosexuals. Heterosexuals live together but have no children and don’t get married.”
The princess blamed the current economic situation, in which both men and women must work and therefore have no time to raise children. At the same time, she noted, the dropping European birthrate has led to a need to “import” a workforce from “the global south.”
Princess Gloria suggested that by encouraging foreign migration while discouraging the creation of families among the indigenous populations, European nations are committing suicide.
“The demographic development of Europe is no surprise,” she declared.
“We have known now for decades that, due to our low reproduction rates, a labor shortage awaits us, and yet still our leaders kept financing the killing of our own offspring. Why? what sense does this make? Is there some kind of racism behind it all? Why are we encouraging our own self-extinction?
The princess pointed to Hungary as a country that is successfully solving its demographic crisis through encouraging couples to have children.
“Hungary has shown that it is possible to turn around and raise reproduction rates significantly,” she said. “Young families receive significant help financially from the government and social recognition too. It is not impossible to rent an apartment in Hungary when you have more than two children. In Germany it is.”
Princess Gloria believes other countries do not follow Hungary’s lead because they are infected with nihilism and “ultimately the nihilists believe that self-destruction is man’s sole purpose on earth.” She added that socialists, too, have “never had man’s interests at heart.”
“Power and nihilistic, utilitarian abuse was and is their motivation.”
She contrasted the current situation today in Germany with the post-war miracle that transformed the war-devastated country into an economic powerhouse:
It was Ludwig Erhardt, a Christian Democrat when Christian Democrats still had Christian principles at heart, who invented the so called Soziale Marktwirtschaft [social market economy] after the Second World War. A liberal social economy that made possible Germany’s rise to industrial power. It encouraged both entrepreneurs and workers, because fewer regulations made it possible to pay for social security and to be profitable at the same time. Less government, responsible entrepreneurship and responsible fair pay for workers.
We are a million miles away from this system today. We have more rules and regulations than ever before. These rules and regulations make it impossible for independent entrepreneurs even to get started let alone continue. It almost looks like the government does not want any free entrepreneurship in Europe. It seems 2024.if they want to disperse all of our savings to whoever asks for it first, ideally to people who bring chaos and disorder.

The princess reflected on the miserable and seemingly hopeless state of the western world, mentioning the opioid crisis in the USA, war, civil war, “unknown diseases, unrest and hatred”—including Islamic attacks in Europe, which she believes are being managed behind the scenes.
Princess Gloria believes that the only way out of the mess is “to call on God and ask for His help.”
“If the power of evil is growing it is because we have lost faith in God the Creator,” she said.

Unprecedented barrage of hundreds of missiles directed at Israel
There are many interpretations of Iran’s unprecedented direct attack on Israel floating around in cyberspace, but only one in the mainstream media: Iran’s attack was appropriate payback for Israel taking down IRGC general Mohammed Reza Zahedi, the mastermind behind the October 7th massacre—and Israel should stand down since nearly all of Iran’s 300+ missiles were intercepted.
In fact, Biden, whom we now know greenlighted Iran’s attack, told Israel to “take it as a win.” Translation: Don’t you dare retaliate against the massive onslaught from Iran, codenamed, as I learned from Daniel Greenfield, “YaRasool Allah”—Messenger of Allah.
So what is Iran’s message?
Simply that it plans to annihilate Israel in the name of Allah. And April 13th can best be understood as a practice volley.
IRAN VS. ISRAEL: WHO WON?
As Israeli commentator Amir Tsarfati points out: “Victory is not what you do in defense, but in offense!”
I give the win here to Iran. Why? Because Iran accomplished several feats—first and foremost, it blasted well over 300 rockets at its arch-enemy, the “Zionist entity.” That goes over well in the Arab Islamic world.
In fact, in the Arab world, military might is viewed as the pinnacle of strength, and strength is revered, while any sign of weakness is deplored.
So we shouldn’t be surprised that Iran gets accolades from its proxies and friends. From Reuters: “Iran’s attack on Israel stirs admiration among Gaza Palestinians.” Now Iran has removed its mask and essentially claimed its role as the premier badass of the Middle East.
As Jonathan Spyer in The Spectator writes: “It is a moment of profound strategic importance. It was the precise point at which Iran’s forty-year strategy for the destruction of Israel as part of an effort to dominate the region went from the covert, proxy stage to that of overt challenge.”
We now know that Iran used mainly its older, relatively inexpensive Russian weaponry, while compelling Israel to spend well over a billion dollars in its historic high-tech air defense measures. Another win for Iran.
ISRAEL’S PREDICAMENT
Israel is now between the proverbial rock and hard place. If she doesn’t retaliate, the surrounding Arab Muslim states that are hostile to the Jewish state will view that as weakness, which encourages aggression on their part.
And if she does respond in a serious and meaningful way, she’ll likely lose American support—such as it is— including American funding which is crucial to her survival in the face of these existential threats. And of course the international press and assorted pundits would quickly resort to one of their favorite pastimes: blaming the Jews.
True, Israel’s Iron Dome and the newer Arrow 2, Arrow 3 and David’s Sling, proved their worth as well in Saturday’s attack. But April 13th was a game-changer courtesy of the despotic bully who’s been directing terror attacks from the shadows.
Israel may have stunned the world with its miraculous whack-a-drone performance, but such technological magic could hardly be expected to pull off a win if the game transitioned to whack-a-nuke. So Israel must take out Iran’s nuclear capability.
THE BIGGEST REVELATION: O’BIDEN SWAPPING OUR ALLY FOR OUR ENEMY
America has historically been a friend and key ally of Israel, the only democratic state in the Middle East. That is, until Obama got into office in 2008. It may have shocked Israelis when Hussein Obama snubbed our ally’s Prime Minister who’d flown to Washington to address Congress on the dangers of the proposed Iran Deal, which happened twice: in 2012 and again in 2015, when Obama refused to meet with Israel’s head of state, and later dissed Netanyahu’s eloquent and passionate plea to protect Israel, the Middle East, and the world, from Iran becoming a nuclear power.
By now, most people paying attention know that Obama is still calling the shots for the current administration, since the doddering puppet in the Oval Office, while still a corrupt, venal and mean-spirited shill, is no longer compos mentis.
And Obama operating behind the scenes explains why America’s allegiance has summarily passed from Israel to Iran.
That’s right: America supports Iran and its proxies in their various attacks and wars against our former ally, Israel.
This is the “new normal” of the Middle East under O’Biden.
Of course, Biden pays lip service to our historic commitment to Israel, but that commitment has morphed into his “ironclad” betrayal of the beleaguered state. As Caroline Glick puts it, Biden’s policy goal “is to transform Israel from a regional power into a rogue protectorate of America” that the U.S. must discipline and control. Israel is not permitted to win its war against Hamas, or to retaliate against the shocking barrage of Iranian warheads aimed at the country. And consider, if anything had gone awry in its defense, Israel would have incurred incalculable damage and loss of life. Don’t think for a moment that such a scenario would have brought tears to the eyes of the Ayatollah and friends, except for tears of joy.
As Senator Ted Cruz has pointed out, Biden has essentially enriched Iran to the tune of $100 billion. Stack that up against the relatively meager help for Israel from this administration, and most of it conditional with strings attached. To add insult to injury, we gave Iran another $10 billion since the October 7th pogrom! And let’s not forget Obama’s pallet of $400 million in cash for the Ayatollah in 2016, along with a transfer of $1.7 billion also all in cash.
Well, money talks. And it also buys a lot of military technology and weaponry, not to mention facilitating construction of nuclear warheads.
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) assesses the situation this way: “We need to stand with Israel. It’s very clear. We’re not at war with Hamas, or Hezbollah or Yemen. Those are all surrogates for Iran. Those are … prostitutes, the pimp is Iran. Israel is at war with Iran. Iran hates Americans. Iran hates Jews, Iran wants to kill Americans and Jews.”
And with his trademark colorful panache, he concludes: “If we turn the other cheek to them, we’re going to get it in the neck.”
A BRIEF HISTORY REFRESHER
Let’s briefly revisit Iran’s history.
Going back to Biblical times, we see Persia looked kindly upon the Children of Israel, as King Cyrus not only ended the Babylonian captivity of the Jews, he invited them to rebuild their temple under his reign.
We should remember that the Persian people have their own unique, storied culture—they speak Farsi, not Arabic—and pride themselves on their illustrious history including friendliness to Israel. So when we speak of Iran as the terrorist state, we should be clear this is not a reference to the Iranian public, but rather to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard—the despotic government of Iran that is hated by a majority of the people.
Continuing our review of Iran’s history:
Under Mohammed Reza Shah Palevi’s regime from the 1940s to 1979, Iran modernized and westernized. The Shah greatly increased the rights of women and of religious freedom, as well as overseeing a flourishing economy. You can find photos online of elegant Iranian women in stylish European dress prior to the revolution, and compare them with the black-clad, oppressed women in Iran today, in their hijabs or chadors.
The oppression came about via the Iranian Revolution of 1979 in which the Shah was deposed, and Islamic radical Ayatollah Ruholla Khomeini took over with the help of…wait for it…America! That’s right. President Jimmy Carter “had extensive contact” with Khomeini and helped him take power, as revealed in US diplomatic cables declassified in 2016, as reported by the BBC.
If accurate, that means the U.S. has not only lavishly funded Iran, it essentially created the jihadist terrorist state in the first place!
One may well ask why.
The only reason I can think of is that the One World Government globalist elites want chaos in the Middle East, and seek to use jihadist Islamists to take down Western democracies one way or another. We have to remember that the globalist elites have no loyalty to any nation. They’re supranational predators who want the world, including everything and everyone on it, as their possession and plaything.
WHAT NEXT?
Though I’m not a fan of John Bolton, I think he nailed this one. His assessment: All the attacks on Israel, whether by Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, etc., are “Tehran’s ‘ring of fire’ strategy” in the “Iranian war against ‘the little Satan’.” And he says that Israel’s response should be “decidedly disproportionate, thereby being unmistakably clear to Tehran that, if it ever attacks again, it will face far higher costs than any imaginable pain it might impose on Israel.”
Bolton suggests several potential military targets:
Iranian air defenses and command and control centers
Quds Force headquarters
Iran’s oil-and-gas-producing infrastructure
And most important of all: Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities
“Israel is at risk that the next salvo of ballistic missiles will carry nuclear warheads. Netanyahu could roll the dice and hope they don’t, but he knows that the threat of what his predecessor Ariel Sharon once called a “nuclear holocaust” is closer to reality than ever before. Israel would be entirely justified in removing that threat, and the United States should fully support such a decision.”
And lest we forget: Israel is only “the little Satan”—the U.S. is “the big Satan.” After the Saturday people, come the Sunday people.
Listen to this carefully and note who funded the documentary and the title seems suddenly less cryptic. The method is dialectical, and that becomes increasingly obvious through this interview, as you hear them point out what they think is hypocritical, and the people who had this made are the COMINTERN agencies we are all familiar with.

Americans do not want war. But that counts for nothing because neocon warmongers in both parties will always push the agenda of their globalist masters in the military-industrial complex.
It’s important that American patriots learn the difference between a conservative and a neoconservative, a liberal and a neoliberal. I will attempt to shed light on the difference by honing in on one specific example of a neoconservative working in a position of leadership today, that being House Speaker Mike Johnson.
I think we can all agree Johnson is a conservative, but what kind of conservative is he? Does he focus on the needs and interests of Americans or on the interests of those who benefit most from perpetual conflict overseas?
Whenever The New York Times puts out an article praising a Republican for his deft political skills, you know something wicked this way comes. When has the New York Times, in the last 35-40 years, ever stood for anything globally but more war? The Times, along with the Washington Post, serve as the “papers of record” for New York and Washington elites. New York is home base for the financial elites and Washington is the home of the military/intelligence/political elites.
Let me quote the first two paragraphs of a Times story published Wednesday, April 17. And remember, this is supposed to be a news story, not an editorial.
“Speaker Mike Johnson’s elaborate plan for pushing aid to Ukraine through the House over his own party’s objections relies on an unusual strategy: He is counting on House Democrats and their leader, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, to provide the votes necessary to clear the way for it to come to the floor.
“If Democrats were to provide those crucial votes, it would mark the second time in two years that Republican leaders have had to turn to the minority party to rescue them from their own recalcitrant right-wing colleagues in order to allow major legislation to be debated and voted on.”
The article goes on to say that because of the Republicans’ tiny margin of control, “Johnson will need their (Democrats) support on the aid itself. But before he even gets to that, he will need their votes on a procedural motion, known as a rule, to even bring the legislation to the floor — an unconventional expectation of the minority party.”
What they’re really saying is that we have a Republican Speaker of the House who is essentially acting as a proxy for the Democrats, helping push Democrat and globalist policies through the Congress. It’s also interesting that the Democratic Party used to have a strong element of anti-war sentiment within its ranks, and that element has now been purged. The Democratic Party is now totally controlled by the neo-liberal war mongers, just as the Republican Party is controlled by neo-conservative war mongers.
A clear pattern has come into view. We’ve seen Johnson previously refuse to provide funding for border security (this would be an American interest); then he sided with the Washington establishment last week to renew funding for warrantless spying on Americans through the secretive star-chamber court known as the FISA system (not in the interest of any free Americans). Now he is backing away from his commitments not to fund anymore Ukraine giveaways, a policy that is leading to more war in the world, not just in Ukraine, and will eventually result in American troops on the ground in various theaters of war.
The globalist power-brokers who control politicians like Mike Johnson have failed in their determined effort to bait Vladimir Putin into widening the war in Ukraine. Having failed with Putin, they are now working on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, hoping he will show less restraint than Putin and light the fire that explodes into full-blown World War III.
Again, here’s a direct quote from the NY Times article:
“That puts Democrats once again in a strange but strong position, wielding substantial influence over the (Ukraine/Israel funding) measure, including which proposed changes, if any, are allowed to be voted on and how the foreign aid is structured. After all, Johnson knows that if they are unsatisfied and choose to withhold their votes, the legislation risks imploding before it even comes up.”
God forbid that a bill transferring tens of billions of dollars from U.S. taxpayers to foreign countries should implode. That would be catastrophic in the eyes of the New York Times, even as American military veterans sleep under bridges and many elderly Americans are wondering how they’re going to pay for their food and medicine. Their priorities are clear. They’ve let it be known who they serve, and it isn’t the interests of the American people.
Nobody expresses the legitimate frustration and utter disgust we should all have with Congress better than Dave Kobler, a U.S. Army veteran who operates the popular Southern Prepper 1 channel on YouTube. The video below is 12 minutes of undiluted truth.
At the top of the geopolitical food chain, we are not dealing with mere politicians but with satanic criminals in high places. We have way too many corrupt, detached politicians posing as our “representatives” but the core of the problem is who they answer to. They answer to a cabal of war criminals and perpetrators of crimes against humanity — a group that operates above the highly orchestrated political system we see being acted out in the daily theatrical production known as Washington, D.C.
These globalist elites want war not only because it results in massive transfers of wealth into their bank accounts, but because war always increases their control over the lives of we the people.
Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky, one of the few good guys in Washington, said it clearly earlier this week.
“We’re steering toward everything Chuck Schumer wants,” Massie said Tuesday, referring to the Democratic Senate majority leader from New York.
But Schumer only wants war because war is the only option being pursued right now by his masters in the bowls of the military-industrial complex. This includes the military hierarchy, the mega banks and transnational corporations, as well as the Five Eyes intelligence community. Five Eyes includes the intel agencies of the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. But there is also Five Eyes Plus which makes up Nine Eyes, incorporating Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Norway. It extends out from there to Nine Eyes Plus, taking in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Sweden to make up Fourteen Eyes. This is basically what many would call the “free world,” but all of them are currently led by powers that hate their own people, as evidenced by the pushing of toxic injections, a war on food production, and war with nuclear-armed Russia. Their actions expose them as agents of globalist powers seeking to drastically depopulate the earth.
Sadly, this evil entity is having its water carried by phony “conservatives” like Mike Johnson every bit as significantly as the phony “liberals.” We truly are being ruled by a D.C. Uniparty right now and too many Americans still can’t see it.
But they are starting to wake up. More every day are starting to see that “leaders” like Mike Johnson do not advocate the interests of the American people and do not work for us on any level, despite what they might say. The question is what to do about it. Is it too late to save this debt-ridden, morally depraved sinking ship known as the United States of America? If so, what is the future of this land and how should we as Christians be preparing for it? We may have a depraved, oppressive and anti-civilization entity in Washington posing as our “government,” but that doesn’t mean we can’t still foster goodness and civilized community on the local level.

A third House Republican has announced he will co-sponsor a motion to vacate introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., that, if passed, would end Mike Johnson’s tenure as House speaker after fewer than six months.
If all 213 House Democrats vote in support of the motion to remove Johnson, R-Ky., as speaker, only three Republicans would need to cross over for the motion to carry, 216-215, once Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., resigns, as he plans to do imminently.
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., announced that he would join the Georgia Republican’s effort to oust Johnson, saying in a written statement:
[R]ather than spending the resources to secure our southern border and combating the invasion of 11 million illegals and despite repeated promises there would be no additional money going to Ukraine without first securing our border, the United States House of Representatives, under the direction of the speaker, is on the verge of sending another $61 billion to further draw America into an endless and purposeless war in Ukraine.
“Our border cannot be an afterthought,” Gosar added. “We need a speaker who puts America first rather than bending to the reckless demands of the warmongers, neo-cons and the military industrial complex making billions from a costly and endless war half a world away.”
Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., announced earlier this week he supports Greene’s motion to vacate.
Gosar’s decision comes as Johnson relied on House Democrats’ votes to pass a series of foreign aid bills opposed by many conservative Republicans.
Johnson brushed off the threat of Greene’s motion to vacate Wednesday, saying: “I am not resigning. And it is in my view an absurd notion that someone would bring a vacate motion when we are simply here trying to do our jobs.”
Johnson became House speaker in October after the ouster from the post of his predecessor, former Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., by a motion to vacate. The Kentucky Republican has faced increasing pressure from conservatives in the House.
Johnson continues to have the support of former President Donald Trump, who said Johnson is doing a “very good job” when the two appeared together April 12 at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.
“I stand with the speaker,” Trump said.
Johnson was elected House speaker with the votes of 220 Republicans. His predecessor, McCarthy, was removed as speaker after eight Republicans and all Democrats voted against him.
Since Johnson became speaker, McCarthy and Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., have resigned and left Congress. Former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., was expelled in a House vote, and Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., plans to resign soon.
When Gallagher leaves office, that will leave 217 Republicans and 213 Democrats, a razor-thin Republican majority.

Major medical associations have remained silent after the results of a four-year review commissioned by the National Health Service (NHS) England undermined their recommendations for giving puberty blockers to children with gender dysphoria
The Cass report, conducted by former Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health Dr. Hilary Cass and released April 10, found that there is “weak evidence” for offering puberty blockers to children. It concluded that its findings “raise questions about the quality of currently available guidelines” offered by associations like the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and the Endocrine Society, yet neither organization has committed to reviewing their guidelines.
The review references a letter recommending against treating children with puberty blockers outside of a research setting. It also urged “extreme caution” for providing cross-sex hormones to minors under 18 and stressed the need for a “clear clinical rationale.”
The review further suggested a “full programme of research be established” to “look at the characteristics, interventions and outcomes of every young person presenting to the NHS gender services.”
“Although a diagnosis of gender dysphoria has been seen as necessary for initiating medical treatment, it is not reliably predictive of whether that young person will have longstanding gender incongruence in the future, or whether medical intervention will be the best option for them,” the report noted.
The American Medical Association, WPATH, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and Endocrine Society did not respond to multiple inquiries over the past week from the Daily Caller News Foundation asking whether they had concerns with the report’s findings or intended to conduct their own review. Aside from WPATH, these organizations have largely failed to even address the report publicly.
WPATH wrote in a statement that it “supports policies that increase access to high-quality ethical care for transgender youth,” claiming that the report’s foundation is rooted in a “false premise.”
The organization’s standards of care 8th version states that waiting several years to start a young adolescent on puberty blockers “is not always practical nor necessary given the premise of the treatment as a means to buy time while avoiding distress from irreversible pubertal changes,” though it acknowledges that establishing a “sustained experience of gender incongruence” can be important before starting.
“The foundation of the Cass report is rooted in the false premise that non-medical alternatives to care will result in less adolescent distress for most adolescents and is based on a lack of knowledge of and experience working with this patient population,” the organization said in a press release. “It is harmful to perpetuate this notion and does not acknowledge the very real fact that medical pathways are an important treatment option for many young people.”
🚨 The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (@AACAP) is refusing to inform its members about the publication of the Cass Review, the biggest news in the field of pediatrics since COVID, and arguably in the 21st century.
The Endocrine Society characterizes puberty blockers as a “reversible pause to puberty” and “a first step in treatment to allow the adolescent to explore their gender identity and/or to provide relief from distress.” WPATH’s guidelines likewise recommend putting adolescents on “puberty suppressing hormones” to “alleviate gender dysphoria.”
WPATH physicians acknowledged puberty blockers can cause irreversible consequences in minors like infertility, bone loss and disruption of brain development in educational sessions from September 2022 previously obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Both the AMA and AACAP recommend WPATH’s guidance for handling gender dysphoria in children. The AMA often advocates against red state laws that ban sex-change procedures for minors, including puberty blockers.
The Cass report notes “there is no evidence that puberty blockers buy time to think, and some concern that they may change the trajectory of psychosexual and gender identity development.”
The Cass report also questioned WPATH and the Endocrine Society on the “circularity” of their citations, which make support for their positions appear stronger than they are.
Early versions of the two organization’s guidelines influenced “nearly all” guidelines set by other organizations, the report notes. The two organization’s guidelines are also “closely interlinked” because WPATH provided input on the Endocrine Society recommendations, according to the report.
“The circularity of this approach may explain why there has been an apparent consensus on key areas of practice despite the evidence being poor,” the report stated.

I’m a proud product of Catholic education. I had Sisters of St Joseph for grammar school, Xavarian Brothers for high school, and Jesuits for college (Boston College). I went off the reservation for graduate school (Syracuse), but the die had been set.
I attribute my skills and interest in Critical Thinking to the fine teachers I had.
Attentive readers of my commentaries are well aware that I have been extensively involved with the K-12 education business, for both public and private schools. IMO both need to be preserved, which means that both need fixing.
The main (of several) threat to the public school system is that anti-American Left-wing ideology is taking over the curriculum in almost every subject area, but especially in Science and History.
The fix for this starts with Conservative organizations (e.g., Heritage & AEI) paying a LOT more attention to the curricula. Although they typically say that education is a top priority, curricula have been largely ignored. Not surprisingly, the Left is aggressively taking full advantage of this shameful neglect.
Additionally, State Education Superintendents (and State Boards of Education) also need to give the curricula a lot more attention. This business of giving deference to education administrators who oversee curricula, is toxic nonsense — as many of those people are a major part of the problem. This deference has led to multiple bad outcomes, like the purposefully deceptive Social Emotional Learning (SEL) scam.
This is just a bit of background, as this commentary is about Catholic Schools.
K-12 Catholic schools used to be successful as many parents strongly wanted to have their children taught Judeo-Christian standards, and were willing to pay for this. However, times have changed (in many ways) — but most Catholic schools are still relying on this archaic model.
Another outdated part of the Old Model is that the default solution to every financial challenge is to have another fund-raiser (rather than do things differently to prevent the financial problem).
Just one example of how times have changed is that the number of Catholics attending weekly Mass has dropped precipitously over the last few decades. It stands to reason that when parents are less attached to Judeo-Christian standards, their interest in having their kids be taught Judeo-Christian standards will also decrease.
Considering that the cost of K-12 Catholic schools can be substantial, the question is: will these parents be willing to pay a premium cost for what is (in effect) a public school plus a religion class? The answer for many parents is NO.
The good news here is that COVID has provided the solution!
For the first time, parents had the opportunity to look over the shoulders of their children to see what they were being taught. Two problems quickly became apparent:
their children are being told WHAT to think rather than HOW to think, and
the WHAT part is largely Left-Wing, atheistic, and anti-American.
However, very few parents want to home-school their children, as (to do it right) this requires an enormous amount of time, effort, and competence on their part. Further, their child would largely miss out on the positive social benefits of interacting with other classmates, as well as lose out on extra-curricular activities. (E.g., I was the editor of my high school’s weekly Newspaper which was a fabulous experience.)
The light bulb should go on at Catholic (and other private) schools: that this new set of needs should be the basis for a New Model. They should be loudly telling parents:
their children will be taught HOW to think (i.e., Critical Thinking skills), and
their children will be given a Judeo-Christian, pro-American, classic education.
As a refresher, here are some of the MANY benefits of being a Critical Thinker… If you can’t intuitively see the merits of this New Model, then look at how a real-world example has been a resounding success — at a relatively low cost besides!
The Bottom Line here is that (since times have changed rather radically) Catholic Schools need to be aware that they must adopt the New Model. The slow learners will suffer the fate of those who laboriously put all their memories on VHS tapes.

Earlier this month, the revelatoryCass review was published. The report, conducted by former president of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health Dr. Hilary Cass, found “remarkably weak evidence” that “gender affirming services” for children have any positive outcomes. The British Government responded to the results by announcing there will be “a fundamental change” in how they manage the gender identity politics concerning medical care moving forward. It now appears that the push toward acknowledging biological reality in the U.K. is moving beyond clinics.
This week, the British Government’s Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer dove into the males in female sports controversy when she made the argument that biological males have an “indisputable edge” over female athletes, concluding that male athletes who identify as transgender should be prohibited from “competing in top-level female sports events,” Breitbart reported. The biological differences between men and women “not only give transgender women an unfair competitive advantage,” Frazer wrote for The Daily Mail, “but threaten the safety of female athletes in the sports arena.”
She continued, “That’s why this week I called together representatives from key sporting organizations, like the England and Wales Cricket Board and Football Association, to encourage them to follow the lead of other sports in not allowing trans athletes to compete against women at the elite level.” Many are acknowledging how significant this development is, given that the definition of what a woman is can scarcely be answered these days.
The solution Frazer is presenting is that those who understand the biological realities of what a man is and what a woman is must join to proclaim the message more zealously. “The need for clear action from all sports becomes more pressing with each passing week,” Frazer added. “In competitive sport, biology matters. And … this should not be ignored.” And in direct response to the Cass Review, she emphasized “that inaction and a failure to confront the issues at stake cannot be an option.”
But how is progress made on an issue many claim doesn’t exist? Take Harvard University, for example. The editorial board of the Ivy League’s student newspaper published an article on April 16 titled, “There Are Many Obstacles Facing Women’s Sports. Trans Athletes Aren’t One.” In short, The Harvard Crimson’s Editorial Board writer Jonathan G. Yuan made the argument that “the science is … less conclusive” as it relates to whether “transgender women hold a biological edge over their cisgender opponents.”
Breitbart’s Warner Huston does well in pointing out the errors in Yuan’s argument, noting that “in the process of making the” assertions it did, “the article ignored all evidence to the contrary to support their own claim that transgender athlete participation is wholly benign.” But nonetheless, the push against true science continues — not only in a student newspaper, but also in government.
Just Tuesday, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) “vetoed a bill to codify the meaning of ‘woman’ in state law, becoming the second female Democratic governor to nix such legislation over concerns about transgender rights,” The Washington Times wrote. Similar to a bill passed by Idaho Governor Brad Little (R) last week, Arizona’s Senate Bill 1628 would have provided biological “definitions for sex-based terms used in statutes, administrative rules, regulations and public policies.” But Hobbs’s veto, which was one of 13 in recent days, was not free from backlash.
In a statement, Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R) said, “Instead of helping these confused boys and men, Democrats are only fueling the disfunction by pretending biological sex doesn’t matter.” He continued, “Our daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and neighbors are growing up in a dangerous time where they are living with an increased risk of being victimized in public bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms because Democrats are now welcoming biological males into what used to be traditionally safe, single-sex spaces.”
State Senator Sine Kerr (R), the sponsor of the bill, urged, “The madness needs to stop.” She added that “real women must continue to push back, stand for truth, and make their voices heard to advocate for the protection of their rights.” But even though this fight is facing setbacks in some states, Louisiana is taking strides in the right direction.
While it’s not specifically related to the issue of defining gender, Louisiana is fighting to give parents back the right to decide what role gender ideology plays in the lives of their children. According to The Epoch Times, “The Louisiana House and Senate have advanced legislation this week that, if signed by newly seated Gov. Jeff Landry, a Republican, would prohibit sexual indoctrination and the teaching of critical race theory (CRT) in schools.”
Specifically, House Bill 121, also known as the Given Name Act, states that the “Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution … protects the right of parents to direct the care, upbringing, education, and welfare of their children.” As such, the legislation would require parental approval before students can be referred to by any name or pronoun other than their original name and biological pronouns.
Given all this information, the elephant in the room is: Why is it so hard for some people to recognize the biological differences between men and women? It’s a simple question, some would argue, and Meg Kilgannon, Family Research Council’s senior fellow for Education Studies, shared her insight with The Washington Stand. The reason such a simple reality is tossed aside, she explained, is because “they are not accepting there is a reality.”
Kilgannon emphasized what NPR’s CEO Katherine Maher said during a TED talk, namely, that truth is subjective. Maher stated, “[W]e all have different truths. They’re based on things like where we come from, how we were raised, and how other people perceive.” And for Kilgannon, it’s this mindset that leads the Left into a worldview where men can be women and women can be men.
“They don’t believe there is truth,” she added. It’s as though “they don’t believe anything except the fact that they don’t believe anything. It’s the age old trope of [they] say there’s no definitive truth and [they] say that in a definitive statement.” It’s a cyclical argument, she observed, which is hard to escape from.
So, why is it that the question of biological realities is hard for some to answer? As Kilgannon concluded, “If they answer the question, they have to admit that there is a value associated with the item.” Or in other words, a mindset like this means that answering a simple question leads to the collapse of an entire worldview.

Despite seeing fewer patients and reducing bona fide health care services, Planned Parenthood received a record-breaking amount of taxpayer funding last year, according to Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson in the organization’s most recent annual report, which she describes as a “love note” to abortionists.
Planned Parenthood committed 392,712 abortions and received a record-breaking $699.3 million in taxpayer funding in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, according to its most recent annual report released on Wednesday.
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s affiliates perpetrated an average of 1,076 abortions every day of the year, as they amassed $1.8 billion in revenue and $2.5 billion in net assets.
Government funding for the abortion giant increased, although Planned Parenthood saw 80,000 fewer patients (2.05 million) last year than in 2022 (2.13 million), according to PPFA’s annual report, titled “Above & Beyond,” which covers the fiscal year which ran from July 2022 to June 2023.
Despite complaining of about half the country enacting pro-life protections for children since the Dobbs decision, the number of abortions Planned Parenthood carried out surged in the last year. Abortions increased by 18,557 over last year — when Planned Parenthood committed 374,155 abortions and received $670.4 million in taxpayer funding, during its 2021-2022 fiscal year — an increase of 9,252 abortions over pre-Dobbs levels.
“This report is our love note” to abortionists, writes Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson.
Pro-life advocates observed Planned Parenthood has inflicted a ponderous number of deaths on innocent Americans last year. “This is a record number of abortions for the organization and represents approximately 40% of the abortions performed in the United States,” said Michael New, a senior associate scholar at Charlotte Lozier Institute, in a statement emailed to The Washington Stand. “This puts abortions performed by Planned Parenthood in the top four leading causes of death in the United States, after heart disease, cancer and COVID-19,” SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser told TWS.
Taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood surged by $28.9 million over last year and $65.9 million since 2021. Taxpayer revenue accounts for one-third (34%) of Planned Parenthood’s revenue. “Planned Parenthood dropped this bombshell report while many Americans are still recovering from Tax Day,” said Dannenfelser. “Bidenomics has turned into abortionomics.”
“Meanwhile, while your average American’s annual income is down,” wrote Hugh Brown, executive vice president of the American Life League, in a statement emailed to TWS. “We can barely afford necessities — and our government’s answer? Funnel $700 million to the elite baby killers.”
The funding increase comes although a majority (53%) of Americans oppose funding abortion in the United States, and larger majorities oppose foreign abortion funding. Although presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has yet to announce he will protect U.S. taxpayers from funding Planned Parenthood in his second term, he released a Protect Life rule preventing Title X family funding recipients from referring women for abortions in July 2019, his third year in office. Planned Parenthood withdrew from the Title X program rather than curtail or redirect its abortion business.
However, President Joe Biden reversed Trump’s order in October 2021 and subsequently opened multiple funding avenues to the abortion franchise. “The federal government should not be funding the facilitation of abortion in any form or fashion — at home or abroad,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins has noted.
More Money, Fewer Health Care Services
The increased funding comes despite the fact that the number of genuine health care services Planned Parenthood offers has fallen precipitously. “Between 2022 and 2023, preventive-care visits fell by 31.0%, pap tests fell by 13.5%, cancer screenings fell by 1.4%, and adoption referrals fell by 4.5%. Interestingly, for every adoption referral in 2023, Planned Parenthood performed over 228 abortions,” explained New. “In the past 10 years, the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood has increased by 20%. Meanwhile, cancer screenings fell by more than 58%, and prenatal services declined by more than 67%.”
The report highlights PPFA’s commitment to selling women on abortion, say critics. “Once again, pregnant women who walk into Planned Parenthood are sold an abortion 97% of the time,rather than helped to keep their child or make an adoption plan. Meanwhile, they saw 80,000 fewer patients, provided 60,000 fewer pap tests and breast exams, and even gave out less contraception,” Dannenfelser told TWS.
PPFA increased its bottom line by working on the logistics of abortions in pro-life states. Some “90 patient navigators across 41 Planned Parenthood affiliates helped more than 33,000 people get the transportation and travel support, financial assistance, and referrals they needed to get abortion,” its report states.
Planned Parenthood compared its abortion-expansion activities to the miracles wrought by faith in Jesus Christ. “For Planned Parenthood [abortion] staff, this was a year of moving mountains: finding appointments in other states and the resources to get patients there, building as much capacity as possible for abortion appointments, fulfilling increased demand in some places for birth control, and much more,” the organization writes. PPFA claimed it provided financial support to 15,000 people for travel for out-of-state abortion and funding for 50,000 mothers to have an abortion. It did not state how it raised these funds.
Transgender Procedures, Abortion Advocacy, and Abortifacients
The latest update reveals that the abortion business’s concerted drive to profit from expanded transgender procedures advanced in 2023. Planned Parenthood refused to specifically disclose how many transgender procedures the abortion franchise carried out in the last fiscal year, lumping its transgender business among 177,237 “Other Procedures.” PPFA reported a mere 15,902 “other procedures” in its 2020-2021 report.
The report revealed that 45 of Planned Parenthood’s 49 affiliates perpetrated transgender procedures in 2022 — up from 41 the previous year and just 30 in the 2020-2021 fiscal year. This year’s report includes first-person testimonials praising PPFA for administering life-altering, sterilizing, and bone-depleting hormone injections. “As a trans woman, the services provided to me saved my life. I am so grateful for the services you provide to ALL women,” wrote the man.
Planned Parenthood and its international affiliate, Planned Parenthood Global, committed tens of millions of dollars to abortion expansion at home and abroad. Planned Parenthood boasts of its 30 open lawsuits against pro-life protections, winning injunctions preventing seven states from defending unborn children from abortion. Its U.S. affiliates spent $46.7 million on “public policy” and $14.8 to “engage communities.”
Planned Parenthood Global dedicated $113 million to abortion “advocacy,” partnering with 80 organizations in nine countries. Its activities included “community-based access to misoprostol,” the second pill in the chemical abortion cocktail, which can be used on its own to induce abortion (with varying degrees of harm to mothers). The abortion business directed 90% of its efforts toward nations that protect unborn children’s lives in the law, such as Mexico, where its efforts led to “the legalization of abortion in Quintana Roo up to 12 weeks — a decision affecting 470,000 women of reproductive age in the state.”
Contraception remained a cornerstone of the PPFA business model in 2023. PPFA distributed contraception 2,250,913 times, including implanting long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) in 1,548,022 people and distributing 552,721 so-called “Emergency Contraception” kits. All hormonal contraception may potentially act as an abortifacient by making it impossible for a newly conceived/fertilized child to implant in the uterine wall.
PPFA shapes the way young people see sex both through partnerships with public schools and online influencers. “Planned Parenthood is proud to be the nation’s largest sex educator,” writes McGill Johnson in the report’s opening summary. Planned Parenthood’s videos were viewed three million times, and PPFA reached 1.2 million people through education or training sessions. “PPFA launched a national campaign across platforms to destigmatize abortion,” the report notes.
PPFA also plans to shape academic views by producing “scientific” studies promoting its view of the abortion controversy. In all, “34 Planned Parenthood affiliates participated in 47 studies” last year, including one focusing on “potential logistical, financial, and other burdens of travel faced by patients who are forced to travel for their” abortion, the report states.
Planned Parenthood’s report also raises concerns over possible censorship. A section of the annual report titled “Shifting Culture” states PPFA is “leading tech companies to discuss how to improve corporate accountability and address health care misinformation.”
The report takes on added importance as abortion has emerged as the dominant theme of the Biden-Harris reelection campaign and Democratic campaigns generally. “Vice President Kamala Harris even made a campaign stop at a Planned Parenthood abortion center,” noted Dannenfelser. Harris called pro-life laws “immoral” during the visit. “In turn, their political arm spends more than any other abortion-related group to lobby the federal government against commonsense policies like protecting babies born alive after failed abortions.”

Three New York offshore wind projects were canceled Friday in the latest sign of trouble for the stumbling industry and President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda, according to Politico.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the agency that handles offshore wind contracts, disclosed Friday that it could not finalize power purchase agreements with three developers that received conditional awards from the state in October 2023, according to Politico. The announcement amounts to a cancellation of the projects, which deals a blow to New York’s goal to reach 70% green energy generation by 2030 and Biden’s goal to install enough offshore wind capacity nationwide to provide enough electricity to power 10 million U.S. homes by 2030.
New York announced awards for the three projects canceled Friday after the state’s Public Service Commission (PSC) shot down a push by other developers to charge more for the power their projects would produce to offset rising costs, according to Politico. Several other projects were canceled following the PSC’s rejection, with similar dynamics playing out in other blue states like New Jersey and Maryland in recent months as well.

As [with] any new sector, challenges are expected & require resolve from [federal], state & private sector to overcome,” Doreen Harris, NYSERDA’s president and CEO, wrote in a Friday post to X. “[NYSERDA] will take proactive measures to address these issues head-on. Next steps soon.”
The offshore wind industry is stumbling despite the availability of generous tax credits contained in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Biden’s signature climate bill. Inflation, higher borrowing costs and logistical problems are gumming up projects and contracts that appeared lucrative and viable around the time that Biden signed the IRA into law.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the Jewish state would respond in kind to any attack.
Speaking during a visit to the Tel Nof Air Base, he said, “We are in challenging times. We are in the midst of the war in Gaza, which is continuing at full force, even as we are continuing our relentless efforts to return our hostages.”
However, he continued, “We are also prepared for scenarios involving challenges in other sectors. We have determined a simple rule: Whoever harms us, we will harm them. We are prepared to meet all of the security needs of the State of Israel, both defensively and offensively.”
Washington and its allies believe a major attack on Israel by Iran is imminent and may be launched in the coming days.
The Islamic Republic’s response to the killing of an Iranian general in Syria on April 1, which Tehran has blamed on the Jewish state, could involve high-precision missiles being launched at Israel.
The U.S. military commander in charge of the Middle East arrived in Israel on Thursday to coordinate with the Israel Defense Forces regarding a possible attack by Iran and its proxies.
Gen. Erik Kurilla, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), will reportedly meet with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and senior military officials.
The Israel Defense Forces has been placed on high alert, resulting in combat soldiers’ weekend leaves being canceled and the military calling up additional reserve soldiers to the IDF Aerial Defense Array.
On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden sent a public warning to Iran, saying: “As I told Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz warned on Tuesday that Israel will respond in kind should Iran launch a direct attack against it.
“If Iran attacks from its territory—Israel will respond and attack in Iran,” tweeted Katz. The minister tagged Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the X post.

“God forbid,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) told Agudath Israel of America on Wednesday, but Israel could face “a multi-pronged attack, not just by Iran, but by their agents in Syria and in Iraq, by the Houthis, by Hezbollah, all at once, perhaps in retribution for a recent strike, perhaps in a future conflict.”
“Iran is closer to coordinating that, because they believe that they can do it, and that the U.S., because of our internal friction with regards to the U.S.-Israeli relationship, will not respond,” the Florida Republican added, addressing Agudah’s leadership mission to Washington.
“That’s a very real threat, and I hope I’m wrong,” Rubio said. “But we may not see the end of next week without something like that happening. If it does, you will remember that that deterrence was lost and undermined by this desire to appease this radical element of a voting base.”
U.S. leaders who created that friction between Jerusalem and Washington “in order to appease some radical, left-wing, pro-Hamas element” are “undermining the deterrence of Israel’s enemies,” Rubio added.

This perceptive article by Michael Oren, among other things, describes the kind of mental gymnastics combined with a deliberate misrepresentation of the historical facts mobilized by Jew-haters of all stripes to portray Israel as a determined aggressor in her relationship to her Arab Palestinian citizens in particular and the Arab Palestinians in general.
There is no grievance real or imagined that could possibly justify the horrific genocidal attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7th. This is an absolute statement that admits to no moral relativism and cannot be applied on a sliding scale which is why Israel must utterly destroy every last vestige of the Hamas regime and bring its leaders to justice one way or another.
In Gaza, Israel is not only fighting for our future, but also for our past.
Along with destroying Hamas and reestablishing our security, the great unspoken objective of Israel in Gaza is restoring our self-proclaimed role as the keeper of the six million’s memory and the guarantor of “never again.” At stake is not only Israel’s future but, in a very real sense, our past. And yet, even as Israelis have frequently referenced it, the war has posed the ultimate challenge yet to our right to speak in the name of, and have recourse to, the Holocaust.
When, in July 2018, the Israeli government held a reception for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, I declined to attend. As Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office dealing with diplomacy, it was only fitting that I be among those receiving him, yet I wouldn’t. The reason had nothing to do with Orbán’s support for Israel, which was ironclad, or his willingness to oppose the European Union’s ceaseless hounding of the Jewish state. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign to whittle away the 28-nation consensus that the EU needed to condemn us certainly made strategic sense. And while the Hungarian strongman’s efforts to dismantle parts of his country’s democracy discomforted me, far more draconian measures by Russian, Arab, and Chinese leaders had not moved me to boycott them. My problem, rather, lay with Orbán’s relationship to the Holocaust—he and his neo-fascist party had praised Hungarian collaborators with the Nazis—and the danger that posed to Israel’s security.
Along with the IDF, the Mossad, and the Shin Bet, the Holocaust is an essential component in Israel’s defense. Very few countries in history ever confronted genuine existential threats—Japan and Germany in World War II set out to defeat, not destroy, the United States—but Israel has faced several, simultaneously and daily, since its creation. Conversely, while the U.S. determined to defeat the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese, it did not seek to wipe Germany and Japan off the map but to restore their peaceful place in world affairs. Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, by contrast, once strove to annihilate Israel entirely, and Iran and its proxies—Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis—still do today. And when Israel acts to protect itself from these existential threats, the Holocaust joins its F-35 jets and Merkava tanks as a major defensive asset. “As a people which has suffered and survived an attempted genocide,” we declare, “Israel has the right to use extraordinary means to prevent its recurrence.” By providing a moral tailwind the Holocaust provides time and space for those jets and tanks to act.

Preserving the memory of the Holocaust is, therefore, a strategic national interest for Israel, one that we would be tragically negligent to harm. Establishing warm relations with Orbán’s Hungary or with Austria’s ultra-rightist Former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz or with the Polish government that denied its country’s complicity in the mass murder of Jews may have short-term diplomatic benefits but at an irretrievable strategic cost. By selling our Holocaust birthright expediently, we risk forfeiting our past and jeopardizing our future.
We also chip away at the nation’s roots. Israel’s Declaration of Independence cited the Holocaust as a basic justification of the state, and Israel thereafter arrogated the role as the prime repository of the Holocaust’s legacy: “The Nazi holocaust which engulfed millions of Jews in Europe proved anew the urgency of the re-establishment of the Jewish state, which would solve the problem of Jewish homelessness by opening the gate to all Jews and lifting the Jewish people to equality in the family of nations.” This claim enabled Israel, in 1952, to accept hundreds of millions of dollars in German reparations to the Jewish people and, nine years later, to try and execute Nazi mass murderer Adolf Eichmann. Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center, became first stop of every foreign dignitary’s visit to Jerusalem. The message was clear: “This is what can happen without an independent, defendable, Jewish state.”
Israel’s claim to exclusivity didn’t last long, though. By the 1970s, Holocaust memorials, many with a universalist message, were inaugurated in Washington, DC and other capitals, and Holocaust Studies programs sprouted on American campuses. Hollywood seized on this interest by producing blockbuster movies and television series—so many, in fact, that conventional wisdom held that a Holocaust theme was a surefire path to an Oscar. As Israel’s ambassador to the United States, the most important speech I gave annually was to the leaders of Congress and the administration assembled in the Capitol building for Holocaust Remembrance Day.
But along with the rising challenges to Israel’s claim to the Holocaust legacy came assaults on the Holocaust itself, and not just from the David Irving-esque deniers. Scholars such as Yale historian Timothy Snyder and journalist Isabell Wilkerson sought to contextualize the Holocaust by linking it to other Eastern European massacres or comparing it with other racially based injustices. Young American Jews, raised in a victimhood-equals-virtue environment, became increasingly reluctant to cite the Holocaust’s uniqueness, and to challenge the Palestinians’ attempts to liken it to the 1948 Nakba.
The Palestinians, meanwhile, keenly aware of its contributions to the creation and protection of Israel, assailed the Holocaust in multiple ways. Many echoed the longstanding Arab claim—first presented to President Roosevelt by King ibn Saud in 1945—that Palestine was simply the place where Europe dumped those Jews it failed to kill in the camps. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas went from downplaying the Holocaust (one million dead, not six) in his Soviet university doctoral thesis of 1982, to, last year, both minimalizing the Holocaust and insisting that the Jews brought it on themselves. “When Hitler perpetrated the Holocaust, he had obvious reasons,” Fatah Official Yasser Aby Sido, echoing Abbas, recently explained. “They were plotting to take over Germany.”
For a great number of Palestinians, acknowledging the Holocaust was tantamount to recognizing Israel’s legitimacy and negating the importance of the Nakba. Accordingly, in 2009, PA officials shut down a Palestinian youth orchestra after it performed for Holocaust survivors. In 2014, al-Quds University forced the resignation of American Studies professor Mohammed Dajani after he led a delegation of West Bank Palestinians to Auschwitz.
In general, the Palestinians and their supporters have focused less on denying or even justifying the Holocaust and more on painting Israel as the new Nazi Germany and the Palestinians as the new Jews. The Palestinians, in the words of Edward Said, were “the victims of the victims.” Other Palestinians adopted the pledge “Never Again,” and turned it against Israel. “This…desperate cry…is pointed to the descendants of those Jewish victims of Nazi terror who now inflict on the indigenous people of Palestine a crime equally horrendous,” proclaimed the introduction to the book The Plight of the Palestinians, published in 2010. It accused Israel of emulating the Nazis in perpetrating “a prolonged, merciless attempt to erase a people from their land by whatever force is needed.”
The equation Israel=Nazis, Palestinians=Jews, which might be abhorrent to neo-Nazis, gained increasing traction among Israel’s critics, among them a growing number of Jews. Princeton professor Richard Falk, musician Gilad Atzmon, Holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein—all have compared Zionism to Nazism. Jewish writers Primo Levi and Jean Améry both expressed the fear that, by citing the Holocaust to justify its brutal military operations, Israel was in danger of resembling Nazi Germany—a fear that Israeli theologian Yeshayahu Leibowitz upgraded into a condemnation of Israel’s “Nazification.” Political scientist Norman Finklestein began his lifelong assault on Israel protesting the 1982 siege of Beirut with a sign demanding, “Israeli Nazis – Stop the Holocaust in Lebanon!”
Still, none of these developments had the least impact on Israel. From the sabras who, in the 1950s, disdained those who “went like sheep to the slaughter” and labeled those who survived “sabonim”—soaps—Israelis came to embrace the legacy of the Holocaust. “The alternative to fighting is Treblinka, and we have resolved that there would be no Treblinkas”—so Prime Minister Menachem Begin justified Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982. For high schoolers, a pilgrimage to Auschwitz, draped in the Israeli flag, became a pre-army ritual, while the dwindling number and plight of survivors regularly made national news. Every government office, including my own in Washington, boasted the photo of the three Star of David-emblazoned F-15’s flyover of Auschwitz in 2003. Israel, quipped New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, was in danger of becoming “Yad Vashem with an air force.”
Friedman failed to understand the depth of Zionism’s victory over victimhood, though the enlistment of the Holocaust in Israel’s defense, once implicit, had grown increasingly manifest. Defying the mounting attempts to impugn Israel’s right to harness the Holocaust in its battle against existential threats, Israeli leaders now adamantly asserted it. “The Jewish people have learned the lessons of the Holocaust,” Prime Minister Netanyahu declared on Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2020, “always to take seriously the threats of those who seek our destruction [and] always to have the power to defend ourselves by ourselves. We have learned that Israel must always remain the master of its fate.”
Those very lessons were lost a mere four years later, on the morning of October 7. Seen through the prism of the Holocaust, the trauma of the Hamas onslaught was excruciatingly magnified. An avowedly genocidal organization enamored of Hitler had perpetrated the greatest single slaughter of Jews since World War II. Not surprisingly, Netanyahu compared the massacre at the Nova Festival to that of Babi Yar and the kibbutz children who hid for their lives to Anne Frank. Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, pinned a yellow “Jude” star to his lapel. “We stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people,” announced filmmaker Jonathan Glazer upon winning an academy award for “Zone of Interest,” a biopic about Auschwitz commander Rudolf Höss. The import of the maker of a Holocaust movie stripping Israel of the power to wield the Holocaust in its defense was not lost on the Oscar audience, which avidly applauded Glazer’s statement.
Writing in The New Yorker, Masha Gessen put a finer point on Glazer’s accusation, likening Gaza to the Warsaw Ghetto. “The term “ghetto” would have …given us the language to describe what is happening in Gaza now. The ghetto is being liquidated.” Like Glazer, a Jew, Gessen notes how the Nazis built the ghettos to protect non-Jews from “Jewish diseases,” much as Israel created the Gaza ghetto to protect Jews from Palestinian threats. “Both claims,” she concludes, “propose that an occupying authority can…isolate, immiserate—and, now, mortally endanger—an entire population…the name of protecting its own.”
Gessen’s comparison of Gaza with the Warsaw Ghetto was echoed by Colombian President Gustavo Petro while Vladamir Putin equated Israel’s offensive to the Nazi siege of Leningrad. “In the past they were massacring the Jewish people in the gas chambers,” railed Turkish President Erdoğan. “A similar mentality is being shown [by Israel] in Gaza today.” The social media were rife with posts drawing parallels between Israel and the Third Reich and accusations that the Jews are emulating the Nazis in perpetrating genocide in Gaza.
Yet these themes were hardly confined to the Web. In a lengthy essay published in the prestigious London Review of Books, Indian writer Pankaj Mishra argues that the war in Gaza is, in fact, a struggle over the Holocaust. Its memory, though sullied by Israel, is upheld by the millions of pro-Palestinian protesters demonstrating “against savagery.” Their actions will eventually overcome Israeli propaganda, Mishra predicts, and “go some way towards redeeming the memory of the Shoah.”
Mishra’s voice is hardly lone. Podcaster and wrestler Joe Rogan recently claimed that Israel’s actions in Gaza amounted to Israel “saying that genocide is okay as long as we’re doing it.” Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula said Israel’s war in Gaza was unparalleled in history except when “Hitler decided to kill the Jews.” Chris Williamson, of the British Labour Party, called Gaza a “concentration camp” and characterized Israel as “worse than the Nazis.”
Call it Holocaust decoupling or Holocaust severance, but a global movement is now mounting to cut the ties between the Jewish State and the Final Solution and deny the former the ability to adduce the latter in its defense. Europeans, in particular, are welcoming this trend as an opportunity to at last escape the Holocaust’s burden, and even Germany is purportedly reexamining its initial support for Israel’s policies in Gaza. The slogan, “Never again,” is being appropriated from Israel and, according to Mishra, replaced by the universal, “Never Again for Anyone.”
As soon as this war is concluded, once Israel succeeds in defeating Hamas and begins the process of demilitarizing, deradicalizing, and reconstructing Gaza, we must embark on a quest to reclaim the Holocaust from those who seek to detach us from it and even use it against us. While parts of the world may now contest that ownership, we must nevertheless uphold and preserve it if for ourselves and generations of Israelis to come. We must think twice before squandering our legacy—selling our birthright—for potentially short-term benefits. Girded once more in our past, we can fight more effectively, more morally, for our future.
